It was much easier when the Him they had been reffering to was abstract. Mike didn't want to fight James or even what had been James. However that wasn't an option now. He glanced to Breakdown his eyes hard, "Yes people are getting hurt out there right now and we owe it to them to get this right." He looked to his teammates, "We need to know what each of us has to do not just rush off half cocked and blow our chance. We'll only get the one." He swivled his gaze to Erin, she was way better than him at crowds but this was something she needed to do. He sighed looking to Mark questioningly, "Eddie and I can probably keep the lesser demons at bay." He said with a nod, "Zoe, can back us up and you can back Alex and Erins play."

Mike looked somewhat chagrined for a moment, "I hadn't even thought about that." He said with a small laugh, "I'm glad I managed a surprise anyway." He smiled over at Alex and took her hand, "I just want to say right now that this isn't about Zoe, or the future or whatever." He sighed and shook his head, "I still don't really get what any of that means, but I know I want this." He said earnestly. He could only hope she felt the same way.

Two quick things 1) Knockback only happens on a stun result and the person dealing the damage can choose not to knockback, 2) Are the 'small' demons minions? because minions can't crit actually. I just remembered that myself.

Beaming at her reply and blushing slightly at her complement he took her hand and gently guided her to sit ont he blanket seating himself on the other side of the basket. He offered her a small tray of crackers and cheeses. "Well I'm still glad." He said with a grin. He took some food himself and offered her a drink, he had laready opened a sparkling lemonade for himself but he was betting she would preffer the strawberry one, she had always had a weakness for the sweeter things. "You look really nice tonight too." He said blushing once more. "I figure we can do the traditional dinner and a movie for the next date, but this seemed nicer for the first."

The huddled masses retreated from Avengers intimidating growl. The one who atlas had been speaking to may have been brighter than the rest or just frightened enough nto to care anymore, "Y-you aren't with them?" He asked his terror of hte ephemeral 'them' clearly waring with the immediate threat presented by his interagators. "T-they only take the healthy ones, leave us alone as long as we keep quite. But if they find out we talked they'll send their Beast after us. It doesn't care if you run or not." He explained nervously eyeing Dead Head now, "It just wants to feed, they keep it down there." He pointed towards the old subway sytems where an almost palpable darkness waited, "You can hear when the feed it sometimes." He shuddered at the memory. As Phantoms senses traveled the halls and galleries of the abandonded underground she found them eerily empty. She felt traces of the strange shadowy magic at the fringes of her senses and as she delved deeper the magic only strengthened. As she was about to turn back for fear of discovery she heard an echoing scream that cut off all to quickly.

Ace shook his head and shrugged, "I'm not sure how long it'll last." He said quietly not wanting to panic anyone, "It was originally desighned to protect against another Hades invasion, Phantom was able to pass warning along that something like this might happen so I had it retooled but this is way beyond what the spell was designed for." He didn't sugar coat it at all. "Our best hope is that Phantom or Eldritch can get this thing closed before we are out of time." He glanced around at the refugees he had taken in, "I have some more standard defenses available, and weapons if it comes to that." They both knew that kind of last stand would be near hopeless but there wasn't really another option. "If it gets bad I've had the children moved to the third floor west wing." His intention was clear, if she pushed herself she coudl probably get all the children at least out and maybe evade the demons long enough, hopefully it wouldn't come to that, there were more refugees but also more Heroes incoming. It might just be enough to hold back the hordes long enough, it was a a matter of holding out long enough there wasn't anything they could do to end this that was in the hands of others.

Mike had finished his preparations mere moments after arriving thanks to his terminus enegy enhanced speed. Atop the knoll overlooking the city and the sea where Alex had taken her first stumbling steps into the air he had set up a picinic dinner. The bright plaid blanket easily seen from the sky had a partially unpacked dinner set out slowly cooling in the autum air. His speed however left him far more time to worry that Alex may not come then really he should have had and the relief was plain on his face as she came in to land. Perhaps even more shocking than the rather elaborate spread was mike himself. Gone were the baggy jeans and worn t-shirt of earlier that day replaced by crisp pressed slacks and a deep blue fitted turtleneck sweater. His had gotten his hair cropped into a tidy spit curl that afternoon and looked everybit the boyscout as he extended the small boquet of flowers, all the ones he had given her earlier plus red roses. "I'm glad you could make it." He said with a nervous smile.

Mike had taken the events int he graveyard hard. He blamed himself, perhaps more than was warented, for not being able to stop them from taking James. Then he felt the wave of emotion and saw the city twist on the monitors. It didn't seem possible but it might also be their only chance. They might be able to get him back, if that meant battleing to the very gates of Hell so be it. They had to take any chance they could. When phantoms words floated out of the com-system, his smile fell slightly. If it was on them to stop this then so be it. They woudl find another way to save James, he wouldn't give up so easily. Today they were needed, there was no choice but to answer the call.

Ace'll use his HQ's com system and computer to hook you guys up with other folks in southside so you should all be able to meet up quickly at least.
-
Ace heard the plea and knew there was little he could do, Southside was pretty much as far from the relitive saftey of the manor that one could get and still be in the city. His reply was broken by the static of the demonic energies waring with the com systems, "Ace here, I have a haven set up for casualties, but we're pretty far away, I'll try to direct any other distress calls from down there to your frequency, but the whole city's going under so I can't make any promises." He was grim and he knew it would take every ounce of Arrowhawks ingenuity to pull together a defense down there but there was hardly a better man for the job.
-
As the wounded and frightened populace and their defenders arrived Ace quickly set about making sure the most gravely injured were taken to the infirmarey the rest he made sure were treated in place. He'd had this system put in after Hades invasion several years ago but he didn't know how long it could hold out against this kind of threat. Hopefully it woul hold long enough for Eldritch or Phantom to stop it. His comlink and phones kept him in contact with associates all over the city, he only hoped they could hold out and try and direct what resources were available to his camrades.

Phalanx was alreadyin the air streaking towards the demon when Mark spoke. He slammed his fist into the creatures jaw with is full momentum behind it dealing a mighty blow to the hellish thing. "GET AWAY FROM HIM!" he shouted as he connected. He dropped to the ground between the demon and James protecting his friend as best he could.

Mike had left her another surprise under the tree, a set of fragrant orange blossoms next to a framed copy of the picture her mother had taken of them infront of the entrance to the school on their first visit. After leaving that he had to hurry to prepare the remainder of the evening. But between flying and superhuman speed he was able to get everything in place, if barely. When Alex returned to her room there was a single red tulip and a note pinned to the door, the note said simply 'lets skip the caffeteria tonight. If you would do me the honor of joining me, I hope you remember the place.' He had quite purposefully left out one of thier more signifigant childhood memories he could only hope she had caught the hint.

Accurate would be for using it to target in combat you deffinately don't need that. Really for filterin the cloasest is counters radio obscure. But even that may be a bit much for listening into radio stations. I think Acute would cover tuneing to specific frequencies when needed. Really it might do what you want out of the box. Analytical lets you analyze signal strength and probably even triangulate (if you move around some) the origin as well as distance etc. I think just to listen in though all you need is super sense (radio). And to transmit it would just be communication (radio). With that you could certainly get away with explaining that Breakdown can use his forms all the time and give him a "its so quiet" complication to be activated in the rare circumstances he can't get any kind of music going. Of course without the drawback and with his perform skill he could get away with it just by singing ;)
-
Well analytical seems overkill IMHO as that would give you more detail than needed it seems. Not sure on acute, it seems the best fit but I'm still not certain on that. Basically all the radio signals are just playing and you "hear" them all at once. So it woudl be kinda cacophonus, acute woudl let you ID specific stations I guess but I'm not sure how they deal with the level of EM saturation the average city.
-
Not sure how the ranges interact. Radio sense as a reciever seems like it might not apply extended at all since extended really just adjusts your range increment for taking penalties to the check. An option that makes sense to me is that if you are outside of the broadcast range but that range is within your sensory range you can detect the radio signals but they are too faint to pick up what is being comunicated across them (since that is a limitation on comunication) I think comunicators are 2 way radio comunication basically. So you can talk back and forth on the same frequency. radio senses would pick up the signal unless the comlink is subtle IE scrambled. So are you looking at dropping the powerloss drawback from the forms then? Being able to use radio signals basically means he'd always have access to them making it worth a complication more than a drawback.

Mike did have extra sessions with Archer this afternoon, but that wasn't going to tie up his whole afternoon he ahd a few more things to take care of first. Thanks to his superhuman speed he was easily able to beat Alex to her language lab and leave the next present. He set a small wreath of violets, these he had had to purchase of course, on her desk embracing a small felt box with assorted knicknacks of their favorite childhood games. He nearly ran into her on his way out but was able to duck around the corner before she noticed he hoped. Not that who it was from wasn't obvious at this point but there was a certain pricipal to be maintained.

I still don't see it as worth the full device flaw personally. Hard to lose means that if you are incapacitated they can easily remove it. This sounds like they need to have the failsafe or to do gross damage to you. Given that in general we kinda frown of that kind of overkill stuff it seems that in the majority of cases this is better than a standard hard to lose device. If you really are atatched to it being removeable I suggest a power loss drawback for when its not attached and the weakness like Doc suggested for if its forcibly removed.
-
And a few folks have it on their HQs. Anything beyond the order of minutes is pretty much a non issue as a drawback. every minute or less is pretty debilitating.
-
Mike smiled and gently took the flower from her threading it delicately through a button hole on her shirt. "There," He said with a satisfied smile, "You could be Fluer de Joie's sidekick." He said with a wink. Spending time with Mark had at the least kept Mike better apraised fo assorted supers and their powers. He wa quiet through most of the rest of lunch, answering questions monosylabically but in a friendly tone. He was trying hard not to give away the 'surprise' this was all leading to. As they finished eating he gave her a quick hug, "I have extended sessions with Archer this afternoon." He said with a grimace, his little display in the quad hadn't been completely without repercusions fromt eh powers that be after all. "But I'll see you for dinner k?"

Well the real question is if removing it hurts or causes damage and if it causes damage how much? If it just hurts than a descriptor/complication covers it I would say. If it causes real damage then it might be some kind of homebrew drawback but I woudl say of exceedingly low frequency. Another thought though. Make it a normal power with a power loss drawback (when not equiped) that simulates that you can't use it if you don't have it on. And basically the removal aspect comes down to being arbitrated as needed in a given thread. An HP for them knowing the failsafe for instance. Basically it doesn't sound like incapacitating him is enough to remove it it sounds like whoever incapacitates him has to go through signifigantly more to take it away and at that point deffiantely couldn't use it.
