"Well that much has been made abundantly clear." Mike replied, thinking of how very different the whole situation could have gone. "I'm just glad I figured it all out before it was too late." Even Mike wasn't entirely sure if he meant too late for him and Alex or too late for him salvage his friendship with Mark either seemed near as bad as the other in its own way.

Mike nodded, "Well I can't think of much worse than risking our friendship but if you say so." He said with a shrug. then a slight frown tinged his face, "Of course Daisy made it sound like it was all you." He slammed his hand down on his thigh hard enough to shake the floor and topple his algebra book once more. He left it on the floor as he growled, "Darnit why would she do that? I've never even talked to her." Mark had seen Mike mad now and this wasn't anger, he was truely shocked and hurt that what amounted to a strager would try and cause so much trouble.

When the smoke cleared the door hung slightly ajar the entire lock mechanism excised by Colts fine shooting. Ace grinned well he might be a bit of a one trick pony but his trick was pretty good he thought. "That'll do it." He said laughing slightly. From inside they could both hear movement given thier rather spectacular entry it was likely they had rolle dout a welcoming party.

It didn't take too long to find a bypass into the steam vents. Once there travel was a bit easier or at the least less moist. There were a few chambers and alcoves that looked to still be occupied though the residents seemed unnerved by the heroes presence, muttering to themselves. However it was clear that this area was much less populus than it had once been and with winter coming on that was a surprise.

Mike was about to comment on what they had seen in the Nazi base when Doctor Archeville spoke up. Frowning at the doctors insinuation he replied, "Well I imagine the Grue would have a better story prepared then we don't know." "As for destroying all knowledge of how to build them I don't think thats really possible." He said uncertainly. "It might be that only the resistance had the interdimensional teleporters but there was a telepad thing on Daikaiju that was able to connect to the teleporter the resistance had, and the parts for the teleporter well all scavenged from the Nazis." He glanced around and asked, "Seems like if anyone had the tech it woudl have been them not the resistance and I don't think we can really plan to take on all of them." "Anway," He continued, "The nazi base had some giant device that the tele-thingy we needed to get back was stuck in the middle of so they have at least some of the pieces. Th guards seemed kinda spooked by the device but htey might have been trying to scare us or something."

Mike blushed slightly at the soulmates comment, that wasn't really what he and Alex had, they were best friends since forever maybe more now. Soulmates was a bit intense for any teen to admit too regardless. "I dunno about soulmates." He said nervously, "But I think I see what you mean. Its hard to imagine not having Alex around thats for sure."

It was hard to believe in some ways that James dating had never gone anywhere serious but then again Mike couldn't really recall seeing him with the same girl more than once or twice. Not that he usually saw James dates at all. He smiled a chuckled to himself softly, "Well we'll say your an expert compared to me or my other options then." "I'm sure you'll find someone, You're a good guy." He said confidently, "and with a sample size like you have statistics say it has to happen right?" He said with a friendly pat on the back.
-
Mike smiled at the advice, "Yea, I kinda realized that after the thing in Zoes room." He was still working off the demerits for that eavenings escapades but it had thrown into sharp relief just how little he wanted to actually seem like Eddie or Chris. "I wasn't even sure if I shoudl bother asking you about all this but I figured if anyone knew what constituted dating or a date or whatever it'd be you." It had taken some getting used to having friends to rely on other than Alex for mike but he was glad now that he had them even if he was sometime baffled by their behaviors.

Well its a steel fire door. Pretty sturdy but not any kind of advanced alloy or anything. You almost deffinately can shoot through it but it'll take real bullets to harm the door and those will keep going.
-
Ace nodded seeing now what they had done. "Hmm well then, why go through all that effort huh?" he asked sarcastically as he bent to examine the lock. After a few minutes he shook his head, "Been awhile since I had to crack many locks, Might be able to to pop it given time but I don't think we got alot of that." He glanced to Colt, "You got any tricks up your sleeve?"
-
Mike nodded thoughtfully for a moment before replying, "Well they seemed to think the interfearance to their teleporter came from something on this side." He shrugged looking to Mark and Chris for confermation, "All thier stuff was stolen from the Nazis so the Nazis may have had the grue stuff and the resistance stole it?" he opined.

Mike shrugged, "Yea Erin's temper isn't as bad as even she makes it out to be." He nodded, "As for being like most teenagers thats new for me, gonna take some getting used to even if its only in one small area." He glanced around for a few moments he really didn't get how James could manage all the girls he went out with, Mike had one and a maybe half though perhaps that wasn't even really a date and it was too much. Really even the one didn't really count, at least not yet since he hadn't even asked Alex out. Shaking his head he thanks James, "Thanks for the advice, it's clarified stuff quite a bit."
-
Bah you and your reading the rules :P
-
Mike breathed a sigh of relief, he knew exactly how poorly he had covered that slip up. "Yea I guess you're right," he said with a nod, "It certainly seems to matter right now though." He added with a laugh. "I half expected Erin to hit me when I asked her out and I was less nervous."

As the smoke cleared two more unconcious thugs lay in the hallway easily defeated by Colts skillfull shooting. Ace quickly led the way down the hall moving silently on the balls of his feet. In the few open doors Colt was able to see disturbing glimses of mad scrawlings on many of the walls and strange twisted patterns laid out in refuse on the floors. Ace called back quietly over his shoulder to Colt, "I think theres more to this than your standard gang activities. Thats freedom for you never a dull moment." He paused thoughtfully at the end of the hall looking at one door in particular, "Anything catch your eye about this door? I can't place it but something seems off."

They were still around the corner so not in LOS. Surging works fine though.
-
Ace nodded and tossed another of the small smoke bombs up tot he top of the stairs obscuring the sign as well as his movment as he charged up and around the corner. He spun as he passed the thugs guarding the top of the stairs unleashing a barage of shuriken onto thier backs dropping two of them to the ground as the other two turned to bring thier weapons to bear on him.

Standard action to throw Smoke Bomb move action to move up the stairs Surge to autofire attack the 4 gangsters up there 1d20+5=7, 1d20+5=22, 1d20+5=9, 1d20+5=23 DC 22 toughness 2 hits 1d20+6=11, 1d20+6=19 both fail

Yea as I added at the bottom of my post I think treating the disarm as effectively an unarmed attack with TK instead of actual limbs would make more sense than the kinda odd way the strict rules work. Would you say that ranged TK would still have the -4 to hit bonus to initiate the disarm? Also would the Precise powerfeat cover that (as it counts as precise shot already) or would you need the ranged disarm challenge feat?

"Kinda I guess," The tall youth replied, "I dunno what to think in some ways, I know that I don't want any of this to be just because of Z... uhm what happened." He relized James may not be in the know and wasn't sure if Zoes actual past was his to tell. "I mean I know how I feel, and I think I know where she's at but its a kinda awkward situation."

Gonna need a DC 20 Reflex save and if thats unsuccessful a DC 20 Will save. Confuse 10 effect perception area (sight)

Ace rolled a few of his remaining smoke pellets through his fingers, "I find its usefull to keep a few tricks up my sleeve." He said with a wink and prepared to cover Colt if he needed it. As Colt rounded the corner ready to fire at any defenders he quickly took in that there seemed to be no ambush from the top of the stairs. As he came to rest ready to fire his vision was filled by the Twisted Yellow Sigil tagged on the wall faceing the stairwell. He immediatly felt the assault on his mind from the strange sign, it was like looking into the endless abyss of deep space but somehow worse. He felt a presence in the Sigil malevolent and mad.

Natasha merely clutched tighter at Tony as the suggestion to talk to their parents was made. For his part Tony merely looked at Edge like he was completely insane. The baffled expression continued as he tried unsuccesfully to form some kind of statement on that idea but couldn't seem to find the word to express just how crazed it was.
-
Mike nodded with only slight confusion, "I suppose you're right." He eventually replied. He he chewed his lip consideringly for a moment, "I still think I should probably talk to her about it though." He looke dup to James questioningly, "I mean even if she's fine with being friends and thats all she wants no one wants to look like they got dumped for their roomate right?" He frowned slightly at that knowing that was exactly what Mark had to deal with but Mark's blissfull optimism seemed likely to winout over any other issues.
