Ace glanced at the bike curiously as they approached it, deffinately not from around here, but didn't look like your average super-scientist custom job either. Maybe the guys story was true, he really didn't seem to have reason to lie. At Colts question he nodded, "Seems the best place to start, I might know a few folks out that way willing to talk, we'll dig up something." he replied as he pulled the goggles over his eyes.

The trail wasn't hard to follow once Phantom siezed on it. She quickly winded her way across the grounds, it seemed that they kept to the low lying regions of the cemetary predominantly where even now low hanging mist lingered. The point of entry was obvious once they reached the wrought iron fence that encircled the cemetary. several bars lay scattered where some mighty force had torn them assunder. There was no way this wasn't heard. The trail vanished not far from there in a deeply shadowed ally with a powerfull flare of necromantic energy, Likely some kind of portal, it had an odd dimensional tinge to it but was defiantely not interdimensional.

Mike smiled down at Zoe, "We must have changed alot by your time if you think either of us change plans that easily." He said with a quick wink. He watched Zoe leave the room and turned to Alex questioningly, "I'm sorry ... about all that," He jerked his head roughly towards the quad, "I know its none of my business."

"I have a car but we might as well go in style right?" Ace asked and indicated for Colt to lead the way. As the walked Ace began to outline the mission passing the rough details, "Cesar Del Torro," He passed the picture of the young gang leader to Colt and continued, "Leader of the Southside gang known as 'The Yellow Kings', rumored to have some mystic training as well as your standard rap sheet a mile long for violent crime from age 13 on." Ace passed the sparse dossier the Chief had parted with to Colt as well, useless though it may be as the most recent adress no longer existed, and known contacts were exclusively gang underlings. Add to that the notorious insular nature of the southside and you had one hard to find man.
-
Ace turned to the Chief, "Well he's certainly not from around these parts." he said with a grin. He listened as the Cheif explained what was going on, not a powerful foe but his aprehension would require some finesse. He thanked the Chief after the briefing and planting his tradmark fedora firmly back on his head went to meet up with Colt. He was waiting when Colt had collected his pay and as the well armed bounty hunter approached nodded greetign once more. "Don't be too hard on the Chief, he wants to give you a shot but he has alot riding on your word and you don't have much of a rep at all here." he said with a shrug.
-
Ace nodded to the Chief before turning to Colt with a polite smile. He could tell the man wasn't completely taken with the idea already, and that may have been with good reason, but the fact was cowboy justice wasn't going to fly in this world. "I assure you I'll be able to keep up." He said with a small laugh, "And once we see how you handle yourself you may find that I'm a good person to know in the buisness." To be completely honest Ace wasn't sure about the fellow himself, but he'd put him through the paces and see how things went.
-
Ace watched the exchange with a practiced eye. He was well acustomed with the more mercenary set, even among heroes one had to pay the rent. Of course it also explained the Chiefs reservations about the fellow. Anyone who's services could be bought could turn on you quickly when a better offer came in. Ace was an excelent judge of character and it seemed the Chief wanted him to take the mans measure. Ace settled into a chair and looked expectantly to the chief for the explanation.

Mike was elated when Alex and the others arrived though slightly horrified at the dangers they had had to face. Once the reunion was complete and their tales were exchanged he waited somewhat impatiently for the resistance scientists to repair the dimensional teleporter. He appreciated what they had to face here, even respected thier conviction to continue the fight against overwhelming odds, but he was eager to get home. He didn't even know how long they woudl have been gone, his parents would be worried. They had done alot to help here though and he was glad they had been able to do that much at least. He emerged from the dimensional portal and looked about at the new faces and his friends newly returned alike. "Well you can never say things aren't interesting around here."

Ace glanced up as the western styled Bounty Hunter entered the room, the unaging hero had met stranger allies and enemies in his time, though from what he had heard of the gentlemans skills with those sidearms he was glad he was in the former catagory. He set his slightly rumpled fedora on the Cheifs desk and strode lightly across the room to offer this space cowboy a firm handshake. He had picked up the basics about the arrival of the bounty hunter from another dimension but hadn't learned much about the man himself yet, "Pleasure to meet you," He said with nod, "The Cheif here has told me you've been helping out quite a bit around here lately."

Pop culture - All the wackos come out in October. Arcane Lore - Yea necromancers can do lots with bodies and grave memorabilia without seeing actual ritual materials its pretty hard to guess what. Fresh zombies are the best Zombies. Theology and Philosophy - You have heard rumor of a splinter voodoo sect that believes that this Holloween is an opportunity for great power of some sort. They follow Baron Sammedi. Details are sparse as even the most fringe Voodoo groups consider them to be dangerous wackos.

Mike laughed softly despite himself a deep rumble in his chest, "Zoe if you think the results of the test are why Alex cares things must be quite a bit different where you come from." He shrugged and squeezed Alexes hand, "And you're not gonna convince her otherwise." and she wouldn't Alex took care of people, she was good at it and it made her happy, its part of what he loved about her. As the thought crossed his mind he looked away from them both after his not so little display in the quad it was hard for him to write it off as platonic affection this time around.
-
Well if nothing else Zoes outburst served to shake Mike loose of his confusion. His eyes flashed and his jaw set as he spoke his voice hard but not angry, "Zoe sit down." It was her fathers voice, the first Zoe had really heard it since her arrival. "Just because you can talk twice as fast as the rest of us doesn't mean you need to." he said, his gaze fixed on her. "You may have had all the best reasons, and certainly the best intentions keeping this from us. But now we do know and thats not going to change." He layed one big hand on each of the girls shoulders as he continued gentler now, "I don't claim to understand how you got here or what any of this means for the future you know." He paused and took a deep breath, "But I'm not one to let friend or family down when they are hurting."
-
It wasn't hard to elicit the look of befuddled confusion that overtook Mikes face at revelation. Really complex math could achieve much the same effect half the time. This time however it didn't fade into a self depricating smile or shrug but lingered as he tried to wrap his mind around that concept. "Wait ... Wha?" He stammered then shook his head and glanced between Zoe and Alex, "Are you sure?" He asked Alex though he knew it was a stupid question even as he asked it, this wasn't the kind of thing Alex wouldn't have double and triple checked. The gears were obviously turning though slowly as he absorbed the shock of his young life. "So?" He asked tentitively, "What now?" It was more an attempt to buy time to figure out what this meant himself than a real question but he thought he needed to say something.

October 1st 2009: Atlas, Avenger, Deadhead, and Phantom meet up to stop the Darkness Rising
-
Alot of the street people who used to hide out down below have made mention of dead things moving down there. Most people figured it was just gangs using scare tactics to carve out a hideout. There were also mention of more monsterous things, some standard sewer legends giant reptiles etc. But also some kind of Giant 'Thing' though every story about that is at least third hand. With some time you might be able to find out more specifics of where down below this stuff was seen but you'd have to do some asking.
-
Mike was still a little confused by the whole exchange but nodded at Zoes hurried explanation. He wasn't sure what to say to Mark, he still wasn't entirely happy even with what had gone on though he had no good reason for it. As they settled in to the room Mike leaned against the back wall of studdy room and looked curiously to Alex, "So she is your sister?" He asked still trying to put all the peices together, "And what does that have to do with why everyone is saying ... those things."
-
OK Streetwise first. It would be hard to get a crew in here even under dark of night and get the body out withotu being seen. They would have needed around 5-8 good size guys to dig that up in a night. Someone nearby must've seen something. Theres alot of things necromancers could use a dead body for. Zombies is certainly one of them but fresher is better when it comes to that, the headstone reads that he was intered over 4 years ago.

I think you can go ahead and go ahead of Raylis if you want. I'll not post for Ace till she gets a response in at least though.

Go ahead and give a description of how Deadhead shows up on Phantoms magic senses, They are acute and analytical.
-
A cursory examination of the gravesite quickly revealed that the grave had been dug up by hand. Much like the others Deadhead had investigated. From the shovel marks and angles it seemed likely that this was done by a fairly sizeable group. At the bottom of the grave layed the empty casket, the lid pryed up. There was very little finess to this and one would think it was a simple graverobbery for profit of some sort. Phantoms senses told a different story however. The area was permeated with necromantic energies, no sighs or traces of ritual were easily seen however so it seemed likely that the perpetrators themselves were the source.

I think this one is wrapped up.

"People are people, Its taken me some getting used to but really no ones wierder than anyone else round her." He said with a small but honest smile, "Well maybe Chris." He added consideringly. He laughed softly at his joke and nodded, "Yea see you tomarrow."
