Mike returned the assorted greetings with only nominal nervousness, he frowned slightly at Zoes outfit but knew it wasn't his place to comment, and looked away uncomfortably at her extended kiss with Eddie. When she turned her attention to him he stiffend slightly but wrapped on long arm over her shoulder to return the hug. "Well, it is all of your first performance so I figured I should check it out." He offered a weak smile and was deffinately doubting that this was his scene but it was important to support his freinds even if he didn't approve of all of their behavior.

Phalanx quickly took the one shouting at the others to be a leader and flew straight at him fist extended. As he grew cloaser he felt the overwhelming sensations flodd over him and briefly lost focus as he slammed into the leader at full speed. His focus was broken enough that he wasn't able to correct of slow and he continued to plow right through the odd sigil in the center of the landing obliterating it as he shattered the fiberglass flooring it was inscribed upon. He felt the sensations ebb but still struggled to clear his head as he floated just below the hole he had made.

Mike's shoulders dropped to their traditional slump almost imediately and soon his breathing evened as well. He looked down at Alex with a chagrinned look, "Well thats not what Daisy thinks." He said with some confusion, he really couldn't explain why her words had seemed so true in the cafeteria. Then his face twisted in confusion once more, "What family?"

Dark Things are moving in Freedoms underground. Sanitation and subway workers claim to have seen people down in abbandoned subtunnels for years but the sightings are growing more frequent and many homeless who formerly took refuge there have fled with tales of "things" on their lips. Those sensitive to the eb and flow of magic feel a dark presence subtle and hard to trace growing somewhere in the city and more forboding yet there has been a rash of grave robberies, first at the old public grave yards but the robbers grow more bold, even assaulting a nightwatchman at one of the more upscale graveyards. PCs: Atlas, Avenger, Deadhead, Phantom IC OOC

Date: October 1st, 2009 Phantom had felt something in the ether for weeks, something dark, but with everything else that had happened recently hadn't really had time to pay it propper attention. When Jack mentioned off-hand, the cover-up of a rash of grave roberies his people were working on it finally clicked into place. That growing forboding was necromantic, with bodies gone missing it wasn't hard to place though no matter how hard she scryed she couldn't get a fix on the power, there was something powerful hiding it from her. She might have gone to the other mystics but with the Vampires working double duty to cover for the missing bodies it would be hard not to expose Avenger and his cohorts to less understanding mystics then herself. *** Deadhead generally tried to keep a low profile in his activities. He was well aware of the effect his appearance had on the average bystander after all. Recently however he was growing concerned that he needed to reach out for some kind of help. The dead of Freedom were growing restless, thier graves defiled and while he had been able to capture some few of the perpetrators they never knew enough to prove themselves usefull. Worse some agency was hiding the thefts fromt he public, investigation by the authorities was almost non-existant. He was but one 'man' and couldn't watch every cemetary. But who to turn to? Who or what would look past his corpsen shell and offer aid? *** Weird Maggie was a legend on the streets of Freedom, the odd old bag lady offering cryptic advice and obviously crazed stories with the same breath. But those who lived on the streets knew there was more then met the eye when it came to her actions and her tales. Atlas knew something was wrong, the streets of the Fens more full of societies forgotten then usual even. The ones who used to huddle in the abandoned subways and storm drains furtively trying to carve space on the surface once more. He'd asked around and tried to help where he could but there was only so much space and so much he could do. So when Wierd Maggie came up to him and told him his answer was across the river he was willing to listen. The year old obituary she pressed into his hand was the only further clue she gave. Burial to be held at the South Lincoln Cemetary. *** Thus as the chill autumn air heralded the coming of October four heroes prowled the grounds of the cemetary most recently defiled by the rising darkness, converging on the now empty grave of a forgotten man.

October 1st 2009 The Heroes Atlas, Avenger, Deadhead, and Phantom track strange occurances to a small cemetary in south Lincoln.

There was a hint of a blush as Mike replied, "I'm glad to have been able to. Its sometimes easy to forget how beautiful the city is form up there. Thank you for reminding me" He set down in front of the girls dormatory and carefully set Erin back on her feet. He hesitated a moment before speaking again, "I had a really good time tonight, thank you."

Ah that makes more sense I saw distract in your post and was confused

Mark could easily see the warring emotions on Mikes face as he pushed down on his anger and brought himself more under control. Mike dropped to the ground still not fully processing just what a scene he had made and set Mark perhaps a little more firmly on the ground then he intended. After releasing Mark his hands went to rigidly to his sides as he let out a deep breath, trying to refocus as he walked towards where Alex, Erin, and Zoe stood. Though clearly calmer he was still struggling to maintain the carefull control that was his trademark and he didn't speak as he approached the others.
-
Mike smiled at Eddies exhuberance, his energy was exhausting at times but no one could say he wasn't entertaining. He glanced over at Alex, "Mr. Dark Star certainly knows how to show his students a good time. I don't know how he's gonna keep up with expectations now though."

While its suggested in the masterminds manual under challenges Distract isn't able to be done as a move action at a -5 by core rules. Not sure if they allow it here or not.
-
Mike wondered just what kind fo world Erin came from that she remembered such things but didn't want to spoil the moment, "Well not quiet from space but from pretty high up deffinately," he said with a half smile creeping onto his face, "I did use it when I flew too high and clouds came in when I was seven or eight. though." Mike took it slow and made sure to hit the highlights of the night sky as he continued to fly them back to the school.
-
"I do," He said with a nod, "Not all the time but when I need some peace and perspective." Flight was deffinately the part of his powers Mike was most comfortable with and most apreciative of as well. He couldn't even really imagine a life tied to the whims of gravity. He dropped down a little lower to show her the lights shining off Pyramid towers. "Its a pretty incredible place we have here," He said, "I'm just glad you've gotten to see it im much of its glory."
-
Ace nodded with a small smile, "Good question." He said before picking up one of the handguns himself, "The best methods use leverage to your advantage." He proceded to show a few examples of how to twist the gun to prevent them from firing mid disarm. "However really you're better off dropping them then trying to wrestle for the gun. Easiest way to disarm someone is to knock them out first."
-
Mikes face went slack with confusion from all the different stories. He maintained his steely grip on Mark and turned towards Zoe and Alex. "But he just said ... Wait What?" he interupted himself as his brain caught up with the last of Alexs statement. He was strugging with all of the lies and counter stories he didn't know what to believe any more. 'You're right, this isn't the way. Thank You' he thought to Zoe though a fair bit likely drifted across to Alex as well. He shook his head to refocus, "So you're not ... ? He didn't ... ?" Mike asked at a more reasonable decible range though clearly not convinced not to mention the unhappyness he felt at the concept of Mark and Alex in such a situation as she had admitted to though he chose to put aside the urge squeeze Mark until he popped in favor of clarifacation.
-
Mikes eyes blazed with fury at Marks response, "Damit Mark!" he shouted, "This isn't some damn game or one of your dads stupid stories this is real life." Mikes voice was quivering with rage, his iron grip not allowing Mark any real movement but still tightly controlled not even bruising him. He dropped his voice to a low growl, "Play time is over, What are you going to do about Alex and the baby?" Lost in his rage he didn't even seem to hear Zoe though she could easily feel the anger pouring across their psychic link.
-
Mike took her hand and easily swept her off her feet to craddle her as he quickly ascended, "I'm glad." He said simply as he came to a stop high above the city as the light faded and the lights flicked on across the city. He began the slow flight back to the southside but took a long arc over the city center as they went.
-
As the schools premier manipulator flounced off Mike tried to piece together what she had said. At first he was merely baffled, the obvious answer simply wasn't possible, was it? But as he mulled it over it became more and more clear that she had meant it exactly as it had come across. Any other girl and Mike would have written it off as viscious lies and slander against his friends, but Daisy Gibbons had a certain effect on the functioning of the male brain that Mike for all his self control was not immune to. It may have taken longer than she had hoped but Student Body had achieved her desired result. The mangled remnants of his silverware were not surprising at all of course. The destinct hand print left in the now mangled handles of the cafeteria door less so. Counter to Mikes usualy passive way of moving through crowds he plowed glowering through the crowded quad looking for Mark. As the crowd parted before his simmering anger he lifted off the ground and slammed into Mark his arms closing around the comparatively slight boy like a vise. "What in the damned HELL were you thinking?" he growled furiously as they came to a stop nearly twenty feet in the air.

Mike stood and led the way outside and around the back once more, holding the door for her as he went. Once they were out of sight he offered her a hand letting her define the boundries not wanting to accidently cross them again. He shrugged, "Unless you'd rather walk back, woudln't take long without all the slowpokes holding us back." He asked with a smile.
-
Mike pulled his hand away, slow enough as to not be obvious but clearly senseing her discomfort. "Practice makes perfect right?" he asked rhetorically. He hoped he hadn't made her too uncomfortable, "Sorry, I just wanted to say the work shows on your end too." The awkward moment was saved by the Waitress arriving to ask if they needed anything more. When Mike indicated they didn't she left the bill and moved off to her other tables. Mike quickly looked at the bill and pulled out his wallet leaving a fair tip, "You wan to head back?" He asked.
-
"I dunno if I would have listened to a gentler tone." Mike replied with a shrug, he was glad his efforts had been noted though. He smiled, "Sometimes my head can be thicker than my skin." Mike tentitively reached out to lay his hand on her own, "You've been doing alot better too, and its not just the bat." He didn't want to say much more without prompting but it was clear from his tone and his face that he meant it and understood at least a little how difficult that progress had been for her.

Mike was uncertain about this whole party, word on campus was it was going to be pretty extreme, but Eddie had asked him specifically and it was his bands first time playing for an audiance. He'd had no real idea what to wear and eventually settled on his usual boots jeans and black t-shirt but topped it with a black cotton dress shirt but left it loose and unbuttoned. He figured it gave im some options once he saw what it was like there. He still didn't know if Alex and Mark were coming or not, He figured if they didn't show he'd hang for the first bit and head out before things got too wild. It took less than a minute to get to the neighborhood, though it took a little more time to find the spcific house as he dropped out of the sky and strolled as casually as he could manage up the street to knock on the door.
-
When the group made their way into the Cafeteria Mike was already seated at a table with James, his tray as usual piled high with his preffered high carb selections. The tall boy waved to his friends as they entered and waited as they made their way through the line. When they came to the table he stood and greeted the newcomer first, "Hi, Mike Harris." He said extending one big hand in greeting.

The conversation continued for a time but eventually it was clear that Mike needed some kind of real intervention. Even if he wasn't going to persue Alex for whatever cockeyed reasons he had the boy needed to get some kind of game or else he was just going to be an embarrasment. Eddie and Chris set about showing himt he ropes of how to woo the ladies ... With mixed results but by the end of the day Mike was at least willing to try, though he refused to tell them exactly who he had in mind.
