And I enjoy taking full advantage of that outreach. Came the flirty reply I'm in parts of it ... the Lor answered biting her lip mischievously, You going to report me Agent? she asked, Life support must be miscalibrated, it's just so hot in my bunk, I needed to cool off ... I throw myself on your mercy, how could I convince you not to turn me in? -
This sinister saurian was tougher than he looked though it looked like they were starting to get the better of the reckless villains. Or perhaps he spoke too soon as the flaming fiend above dove his direction unleashing a cacophonous explosion heedless of the damage it might cause to their ally. As the fireball expanded toward him he slammed one foot on the ground sending an enhanced wall of water up between himself and fiery doom. By the time the blast hade vaporized the barrier it was sufficiently weak as to wash over his sturdy frame without harm. His counterpart it seemed was not so lucky and Kanunu was quick to capitalize on the opportunity launching his brawny form in a flying overhand smash bringing his clenched fists down with his full weight behind them across Destroyers crest in a crushing blow. He stood over the crumpled form of the huge villain and turned his gaze toward the fiery flyer, "Wrong play lady." he warned as the water at his feet surged and swelled in time to his breathing like a miniature tide.

Hopefully with a dinner invite you've been talking up her cooking for weeks The Lor scout responded quickly, I know it can be hard. She added carefully knowing that terran morals on the subject were varied and sometimes extreme, When you're ready, if you're ready, I'm here whatever the response, or if you're never ready. Though that last seemed unlikely to be sustainable for the Terran who so valued her family. Now? Fa'rua barely missed a beat before replying, 1296.6960471080342487 Parsecs. But Orbital inclinations are actually bringing that in closer. She offered with a degree of precision even Lor star maps probably lacked, though it was unlikely Ashley would pick up on that unless she ran a conversion on it. It's easy to be open when you run into species with five genders or none, but if I brought home a free grue or Khanate refugee it'd not be overlooked so easy. Fa'Rua answered honestly, I think most sentients find reasons to mistrust what they don't share, better to focus on what they do. -

You'll have to give me a heads up the next time they let you off the leash for weekend then. It sounded exotic and even better clearly meant alot Ashley. I'm just a moment away Reading the addendum Fa'Rua bit her lip with uncertainty, she's learned much of the social norms on Earth in her recent studies. And knew this likely was not just because of the newness of the relationship. Lucky for you neither does mine, she'd be all up in your business about grandbabies. She paused a moment hoping the elvity would help cut the tension some at least, Uhm? Do you want her to know? Should I write her a letter requesting to court her daughter She'd picked up on enough of the southern culture in her studies to at least find the image funny. -

Fa'Rue was worried she'd been too much of a downer when Ashleys reply scrolled across her terminal pad. Just gotta find the light to guide you home. Jolan and his order navel gaze on the infinities of the multiverse, You make it sound WAY cooler She smirked down at the question, I used to think till I was too slow or got kicked out. I'm finding myself distracted by thoughts of retiring to some backwater with cute secret agents more and more often lately though ? The Lor grinned down at her pad, that was more like it. Not that I'm ready to be put out to pasture but recent events do tempt one. -

I can't say I really regret any of it. But they're not wrong nine out ten times that'd get some rookie spaced and cost the republic a gunship. We just disagreed on the value of that one in ten. Realistically it was probably much higher than one in ten, number crunchers at command doubtless had exact numbers across scenarios and had built out policy and order of battle according to the dictates of said dispassionate analysis. I know. Fa'Rua responded after an exceptionally long period of typing for such a short post. I wasn't even really in the service for it, emergency volunteer corps, they called it. She explained slowly, Most of us were not ready for combat. The Lor left it at that, she'd been lucky to be ready for what limited action she did see, even then it wasn't in the big battles. She was glad to have the distraction of a story of Earth law enforcement, I get that, guys in my unit loved it, action in every port of call and all that. But it comes with expectations, I was all for a fling with the hot thing at the end of the bar, but when they were more interested in the uniform then me it was just weird, also they were usually real bad at it, unlike certain Terrans that are total naturals Yea your team seemed real solid, I guess for a VIP like Ju'Deth, they get the best of the best. I feel alot the same about the Scout Corps, we all have to be able to handle it on our own so we get good or get dead. That was morose. I think it might also make us a bit dark about the job and dangers... -

Empyrean A portion of the Empyrean Cosmic force has separated from the collective and imbued itself into Twin Lor mentats to explore the corporeal realms and their finite dimensions. Infinity and Eternity have had their natural Mentat abilities accelerated in development by the potent energies of the Empyrean. History The Empyreans exist out of time and space, eternal and largely disinterested in the finite and temporal. Beings of pure cosmic energy, or perhaps a single being such distinctions are not meaningful to them/it. The Cosmic Empyrean energies have touched the multiverse at times and places under different names and guises empowering heroes and tapped by villains but have overall bent toward aiding the forces of creation and thwarting those of destruction. The Empyrean force can seem capricious as it's view is eternal and smaller scales are difficult of it to comprehend. Fa'Rua and Jolan Zal Na'ar are twins born to a family of mining colonists in a frontier asteroid belt. Their early childhood was characteristic of those raised in the confines of such mining operations, their family loving if not wealthy, they were well cared for and happy. Their mentat abilities were revealed around age eight, first in Jolans dreams of the future and past and soon in Fa'Rua's spatial abilities. Jolans abilities were difficult to control and master and he was sent to an order of ascetic monks on the core worlds for training and discipline to master his abilities. There he both mastered his own talents and the training of the order in diplomacy and martial arts. He kept in contact with his family though the distance and rigorous training created a distance. Fa'Rua remained with her family her abilities less dangerous to herself or others. She honed her senses and her skills as a pilot in a misspent youth of unsanctioned racing in the mining tunnels and asteroid belt. Upon adulthood she joined the Lor Star Navy after the depredations of the Communion in the Incursion. Her skills as a pilot served her well but she bucked the regimented order of battle employed by the Star Navy and nearly washed out before transfering into the nascent Scout Corps, a division of the Colonial Bureaucracy given far greater latitude in their search for habitable worlds and potential allies. It was in this service that she and Jolan were reunited, he as a diplomatic liaison for any first contacts, lost colonies , or independant colony efforts, her as pilot and scout. An early mission saw them uncover an abandoned precursor site orbiting a white dwarf on the fringes of the frontier. In the exploration they were exposed and joined with the Empyrean energy, it's cosmic power was too much for a single corporeal form so it split itself into both twins augmenting their abilities as it did so and now they can call it forth by joining as one. Since that event they have continued to work as a team exploring the frontiers and teaching the Empyrean force about corporeal and temporal existence. Costume and Appearance The Empyrean Entity when manifest is a softly glowing blue white iridescent energy made solid. Shadows or temporal and spatial paths trail it's movement leaving it seeming shifting slightly even when still. It holds a humanoid form to best mirror the myriad forms of intelligent life seeded by the precursors in that form. It is distinctly not of this world and when it speaks it's words form in the mind of those around it rather than traveling through the crude medium of pressure waves. It can speak manually with effort but finds such efficient and limited. It's form is only crudely humanoid lacking in definition and thus does not require nor bother with a costume or other covering of it's form, it's face is expressive but proportioned like a mask or dolls head with swirling cosmic flares as an approximation of eyes and shifting quantum flame cresting it's head in an approximation of hair (or feathers, or crested frill as species might see it) Infinity is equipped with a light suit of environmentally sealed scout armor with a full helm. The visor is usually closed hiding her features, the cuirasse has a backpack like structure for mobility jets and life support. The armor is well used and bears the pock marks of battle against pirates and violent native life forms maring the gunmetal blue paint to reveal dull grey alloy beneath and the undersuit in a deep violet almost black. Her pack also mounts her scout rifle in a quick release holster. The armor is distinctly alien in design with the sweeping curves favored by Lor design, more likely to seen by terrans as costuming than military equipment. Eternity is normally clad in the simple tunic and pants of his order. While for some diplomatic missions he might wear more formal dress it remains understated if high quality. When forced to operate in environs requiring it he dons a basic self sealing environmental suit. When visible his head is neatly shaven and his inhuman nature evident in his pointed ears and the inhuman shade of his eyes. His gaze is piercing and sometimes unsettling as he acutely studies those he addresses. Powers Empyrean is empowered by the cosmic energies that it is formed from. It is not alive in the traditional sense its corporeal form being generated from pure cosmic energy and is exceptionally difficult to damage. Tuned to the song of the Cosmos it speaks directly to the minds around it and is able to sense the eb and flow of forces around it. It can propel itself at great speed in vacuum and somewhat slower in atmosphere. Most of it's prowess is in the form of directed cosmic energies allowing it to generate assorted blasts of varying intensity or sap the energies from living sources around them. In battle the Empyrean is straightforward relying on it's potent blasts and invulnerable physical form to carry the day and bothering little with more tactical approaches to conflict. Infinity is able to sense an fold space allowing her to both accurately know her surroundings at all times giving her great tactical insight and to move about the battlefield instantly. SHe relies on the mobility of her armor and space fold to get in position and unleash bursts of laser fire from her rifle. Eternity is tuned into the flow of time itself. He is 'gifted' with visions of the past and future though with little control over them beyond the most immediate able to perceive incoming attacks moments before they are launched and evade or overcome defenses. He has also harnessed his mastery of the temporal flow to speed or slow time localized around himself or an ally granting himself great speed or accelerating an allies strikes, or healing or binding foes in a bubble of slowed time. Finally he's trained in the specialized Lor Martial Arts of his order able to launch precise blows to harm or disable enemies with strikes to nerve clusters or weakly armored locations. Fa'Rua looked down at the question for several long moments. It was hard to remember that as much as space travel and her mission seemed largely mundane to her it was still unusual for the beautiful terran. Way to put me on the spot I honestly don't usually think of it like that She gathered her thoughts and tried to think on what would make a good story before finally settling on one. Alright so favorite is probably this one time I was on this backwater little planet and I totally saved the day for this badass bodyguard and her cute kid sister. I dropped in hot and fast, quick heroic pose then into the action taking on this army of assassins back to back like in the vids right? The Lor scout paused before hitting send but was quick to follow up so as not to totally blow off the genuine question. Ok Ok, that is probably my fave particularly the end. But not really space. Honestly it's hard to pick, I wouldn't say it's my favorite but my first patrol in the Navy is certainly a story! Also my last patrol not to spoil the ending. She hit send and began to compose the story line by line, her references just slightly off from genuine earthling but the colloquialisms suggested she'd switched off the translator to talk in her own somewhat limited english as she wove the tail. It was a regular picket, squadron on patrol to be a deterrent to smugglers and pirates. Usually no contacts or if there was anything they jumped out of system as soon as the hail went out. Supposed to be boring. Freighter with a bad com code comes on system they move to engage, freighter is jamming sensors, claim it's faulty drive. Textbook smugglers, order of battle is a flyby as warning outside weapons range, hail and if they don't power down move into attack vectors etc. Usually it's drugs and an autopilot. But she can't get a fix, and whoever is at the stick is too sloppy for a bot. She calls in to the squad lead, he tells her sto stick formation. She flys in tight, well within weapons range of the cruiser putting her gunship at risk and too close for safe fire from the squad. In close though her scanner picks up lifesigns, lots of them, smuggling people from the incursion zone into the core, amateurs don't know the Navy patrols here and are running scared. She manages to disable the engines going in blasters only and a cruiser comes out to tow it to a port. She ended up in a disciplinary hearing and almost lost her wings, only kept them due to 'extenuating circumstance'. She signed up for hte scout corps a week later. We need more places to put people not more guns. -

I think they have a good shot base camp is established and a colony ship is inbound. Fa'Rua wasn't really certain how interesting any of this might be to Ashley but she at least seemed engaged. It's slated to be an agricultural colony, so we pushed the perimeter pretty far. She paused and stared at the message for a long moment then attached an image of her own, The Lor affixing some kind of antenna array to a rocky peak a dusting of snow at her feet looking out over an unspoiled boreal forest far below. Weather monitoring stations up in the mountains. The view was pretty amazing. The Lor scout bit her lip slightly as it all seemed just so banal compared to the wok Ashley did or maybe it was just nerves. Time was that'd been the peak of my month if not year, and I'm proud of the work we did, but I miss you. -

I Can't even imagine. extended family connections were not common in the republic particularly in the more far flung collonies with relitively high rates of migration. Fa'Rua rarely saw here parents no less more distant relations. It must be difficult to maintain your cover under such constraint's Fa'Rua cut off before finishing the thought at the further revelation. Good for her! Jolan has been adimant such subterfuge didn't suit her. I can't say I disagree from my brief conversation. I'm sure it was a difficult situation for you with the expectations of your employers. She didn't delve much deeper into that subject it being dangerously close to political meddling and not helpful for the beautiful terran on the other end of the connection. It's been busy until recently, we found a habitable world and worked with the first landing crew to survey a colony site. Very aggressive Primates of unusual size so the forrested areas were particularly exciting. She shared the story withotu considering how unusual it might be to those who hadn't jumped beyond their own gravity well. -

That I can do ? Fa'Rua smiled at the thought and was hit by the distance between them for a moment before determining it wasn't a gross misappropriation of resources to jump to the Sol system and drop off a car package after this sweep. See I told you it would be fine. The Lor scout had of course advised that everything would be fine in her usual act first deal with problems later approach. So nice being home and away from work for a bit? She asked carefully, I know the undercover wok is stressful. -

The console trilled an alert as Ashleys message was delivered and Fa'Rua looked down a smile slipping to her lips unbidden. She looked at the charted course through the latest system a slow ellipsis around the cool red dwarf anchoring the system. She glanced from the console Jolan and back to the console weighing answering here or begging off to leave her long suffering twin to man the scanners while the autopilot followed the plotted course. Jolan looked to her with a sigh and small bemused shake of his head, "Go Fa'Rua." he encouraged flatly, "Your focus is always much improved after your chats with Agent Tran." he opined without judgement. She blushed deeply then stood not having to be asked twice and scampered off to her bunk transferring the message to hir tablet there. Oh Already? I should send something ... She clearly hadn't fully grasped the full breadth of enthusiasm the Terrans approached the holidays with more accustomed to the Lor scheduled holidays than the broad seasonal approach that many areas of earth took. I know I say it every time but I love the new hair. Did your mother take it as poorly as you worried? I can't imaging her not loving it it's so pretty on you. -
Kanunu took a step back as the jet of water hardly budged the prehistoric perp. "Gonna hafta do this the ol fashion way then." the big man murmured while Dinostroyer regained his feet and approached again. "Not even close." Kanunu rumbled in reply as he closed in for a more down and dirty brawl. He ducked the villains defenses and snapped out one meaty fist in a powerful right hook connecting with his oversize jaw and rocking the sinister saurian back on his heels.

Fa'Rua sleepily ran a hand along Ashleys back when she sat up, perhaps trying to tempt her back into a warm embrace. She stirred and draped arms over her shoulders to press a kiss against Ashleys cheek. "You do big sister duty well though." she praised happily, "She needs you, as much as I wish it wasn't so they all do." she admitted, "Just make sure they give you your back vacation when the missions over and I promise to make it worth your while Agent." she teased lightly as she withdrew. She'd have reports of her own soon. Her side trip to aid Ashley hadn't been exactly sanctioned after all, and now a Lor Scout was involved with a Terran internal conflict. She glanced back to Ashleys back with a fond smile and murmured to her self, 'Worth it.'
-
Fa'Rua was content, she gave Ashleys thigh a supportive squeeze at the admission of her late realizations holding her close and enjoying the moment. The words about her duty and reports worried her, it sounded so close to an 'I have too much happening right now' brush off, for comfort. When Ashley suggested something more her heart thudded in her chest as she met the Terrans eyes searching for doubt, or too much drink perhaps and finding none took ashleys hand with a bright smile, "I'd like that." She replied and pulled her to her feet and led the way a hand resting comfortably on the curve of her girlfriends hip.
-
Returning the kiss tenderly Fa'Rua cupped Ashleys cheek and lightly nipped her lower lip as it broke. "I might have been trying to show off a bit," she admitted breathily, "I'm glad it worked." The Lor leaned in to kiss Ashley once more before pulling back reluctantly as before long they would have an audience again. "I think it would look really good." she encouraged, "And you can say it's for your cover." she teased lightly and let a hand rest on the pretty Terrans leg companionably as she took another long drink of her beer. She slung an arm over Ashleys shoulder pulling her close and leaning her head lightly against Ashleys own. "Thank's for this, all of it." she was quick to add. "I don't think I realized how alone I was feeling before we started talking." Fa'Rua let out a small contented sigh and lightly nuzzled Ashleys cheek. "And clearly there is never a dull moment dating a hot Terran hero."
-
The Lor scout offered a surprisingly uncertain smile, "Well I've never been on a date with a Terran so we all have things to get used to." she answered pleased with Ashleys admission of interest in more of whatever this was developing into. The complement earned a slight blush and she tucked one violet lock behind an pointed ear. "Halloween?" she asked briefly confused then nodded as it came to her, "Ah a holiday of costumes and confections, I see." she laughed lightly at their luck. "Well I'm happy to see where this goes too." she admitted as Ashley hailed the cab. Seated she looked confused at the Space Marine designation but drew short of correcting the designation as she realized it was interpreted as costume not uniform. She set her helmet aside as they sat choosing to sit next to Ashley rather than across the table and looked at the offerings with some concern glad when Ashley ordered for her. She took a long sip of the dark brew and nodded satisfied, "It's like a sweet bread you can drink." she was enamoured instantly. She watched the screen but briefly and considered asking after the sport but really had minimal interest in making pointless small talk she realized. She tilted her head as she watched Ashley for a long moment and ran a finger along one stray lock of pink highlight. "This is a good color on you." she praised letting the finger brush the pretty terrans cheek lightly. "I know it is not as you planned, but I'm glad we got to meet face to face." she suggested and smiled slightly, "And that I got to see you in action."
-
Fa'Rua took the handkerchief gratefully and turned to clean up slightly as well as to steady her breathing and finish recovering from the rather more significant jump than she'd tried without augmentation before. Her english had improved much in her time since she'd first reached out to the pretty terran but between the recent exertions and the seemingly highly technical nature of discussions she was comfortable leaving Ashley to it. She sunk to sprawl with her back against a handy signpost and rest up while they carried on and only stood when Judy began to take her leave under the watchful eye of an older student. She jogged a few steps and took Judy's hand, "Ju'Deth you did a good job back there." she offered while she sent a pulsed burst transmission to the part Stellarian, This frequency connects to the local FTL transponder, if either of you need backup again. It wasn't that she didn't trust Ashley with the code, but of the two Judy was the more likely to make the call rather than try to do it all on her own. She turned from Judy and made her way back to Ashley to enjoy a quiet walk across campus to the gate, She smiled and shook her head, "I told you before no one comes to Terra looking for a quiet night." she offered with a wink and glanced back at the school and raised a brow, "She did the heavy lifting." the Lor pointed out with a small shrug, "If she needs you I get it." she hushed uncertainty, somehow sure she'd manage to come in second but trying to put on a brave face. "But Yes yes I do." she grinned and looked down at her armored form and laughed slightly, "Even if I'm a bit overdressed." She decisively took Ashleys hand, "So where to beautiful?"
-
I think with extra effort for power stunt she can manage a long distance only distracting accurate teleport that has the range, might need to add some kind of drawback or tiring to get progression. So she can do it but gonna mess her up a bit and not be a smooth ride! Lemme know if you want me to math it out exactly but it is late o'clock here
-
It was difficult, but it was what he needed to find balance and control. The Lor explained and grinned slightly, Now he has perhaps too much balance and control. She teased lightly as she was much less balanced in her approach. Fa'Rua blushed slightly when Judy mentioned Ashley had spoken of her, even if only in passing it was more than she had expected in many ways. The Terran struck her as very compartmentalized, it felt significant she'd shared even that much with her ward. On Ashley's return she hopped to her feet and watched the perp being led away with open distaste. Jolan followed and stood to the side quietly contemplative, he'd relayed the important information to Fa'Rua as it had been revealed but had little more to add aside from a supportive nod at his twins uncertainty when her powers were called upon. She nodded and offered a cocky smirk, "No promises of a smooth ride I usually don't take passengers." she replied but seemed confident she'd manage. Once given the coordinates she took a steadying breath and closed her eyes to focus extending her hands as she reached for the place Ashley indicated. When Ashley and Judy took her hands there was an immediate wrenching sensation of sudden intense vertigo as space itself bent and twisted at the Lors command. There was no real feeling of motion they simply were no longer where they had stood and instead were in the central quad of Claremont Academy. Fa'Rua took a staggering step as she released Ashley and Judys hands as she tried to orient herself after overextending her abilities. She tried to use the stagger to cover wiping a bit of blood from her nose where the strain had broken a blood vessel. "Any landing you can walk away from right?" she played off the rough trip with a shrug as doubtless alarms ans sensitive students around the school were alerted to the spatial manipulations that had brought them there.
