The power loss had sent the base into fair disarray but the security forces knew where the problem was and already Phantom and Fluer de Joie could hear the tromp of thier boots as they hurried toward the damaged reactor room. *** "The fools won't last a minute against my crack security teams." Vaslev sneered at Dark Star, "They must have teleported in." He murmmered to himself as he bagan rerouting power form various systems. In a few moments he was done and announced triumphantly, "HA HA they are just as trapped as you now my dear Dark Star, no power can bypass my Pan-Dimensional Interdiction Net." The crazed villian stalked across the room to stand before the flaggin hero. "Perhaps one of hte pretty young ladies will be able to convince you the errors of your ways." He said with a sadistic sneer.

    Shell Shock (IC)

    Mike did as Alex instructed pulling Zoe in tighter against his chest as he went through some calming excercises slowing his breathing and heart rate. Despite that he still seemed a little lost by the whole situation. He almost subconciously continued to murrmer it was all going to be ok down the psychic link with the rock steady sureity he used to help Alex throught he worst of her nightmares with.

  4. Since the psychic link is basically plugged right into the "My daughter needs me" part of his brain Mike is working on auto-pilot for the first bit here Switch array to 7 speed/quickness as he wakes up and runs downstairs

    Shell Shock (IC)

    The images leaking across the psychic link drifted seemlessly into Mikes dreams. He tossed and turned confused by the strange images but unable to wake fully. Then the screaming started and he bolted awake, driven on an instinctual level he was up and out of bed running for the sounds of distress before his sleep fogged brain had even fully proccessed what he was hearing. Moving at startling speed Mike was through Zoe's door in a matter of seconds. He took in the scene and hurried to Zoe's side pulling the slight teen into his arms effortlessly holding her close to his chest as he took a step back from the worst of the mess. Gently rocking her as he did so, while murrmuring what he hoped was comfort across both the psychic link and verbally and looking to James pleadingly, "Should we get her to a doctor? What happened?" 'Alex, somethings wrong with Zoe.' He pleaded across the link effortlessly in the moment of the crisis.
  6. And luck isn't allowed to be limited here. Also IIRC Follow up allows more than one follow up attack(if you manage to crit again) whereas you can only surge once per round. Either way though it seems more than a little counter to the whole 1 attack per round thing. Of course so is improved grab and that alot easier to ensure you manage to do regularly.

Well depending on what kinda strength score you have you can achieve the same basic effect with an acrobatics check 5' for every point your check exceeds 15. though not as effective if you are a high strength character. I think with how cheap it is to get leaping to jump just silly distances they didn't bother with a feat like this. D&D had one IIRC but D&D had feats for all kinds of useless stuff.

  9. The light of the detonating core was blinding and the sound like nothing anyone in the room had heard before. As Phantom and Fluer de Joie began to recover thier senses a few things became readily aparent, firstly the room was rapidly filling with noxious vapors from some kind of reaction in the space formerly acupied by the reactor core. Secondly it was much darker in the room though red emergency lights still gave bare illumination to the area. Lastly thier enemies it seemed had all been rendered unconcious by the blinging lights and deafening sounds of hte explosion. But where would they go now there was obviously at least some suplemental power available. *** Back in the comand room Derrick continued to strain against the device trying to force the energies out of his body once more. The madman holding him captor had not yet descerned anything usefull from his study of Jacks bizzare dreams but he was getting dangerously close already having Identified Taylor as important to Avenger. He howled in rage and brought up a camera view of some strange reactor when the Alarm sounded, Derrick could clearly see the cause of the alarm as Fluer and Phantom dispatched the guards. When Phantom moved into the reactor chamber the entire room went dark for a moment before some kind of back up power kicked in but it seemed the crazed russian couldn't bring up his security grid on the limited power available.
  10. Ace cocked an eyebrow at Dark Stars rambling resignation. It wasn't really what he expected the meeting to be about but he was flexible. Some of Drk Stars explanations did however stick out in his mind. Ace stood shaking his head, "So you're going to quit when it gets hard?" He asked, it may not be his usual tactfull way of dealing with delicate situations but it seemed Dark Star was more receptive to bluntness anyway. "You say you want to be a role model, that you hold yourself to a higher standard, that you didn't realize what was being done. But that really doesn't matter becasue the issue is that now when your ideals are coming in conflict you are chooseing to run rather than face them." He looked to the others in the room, "How little did you know really? I'm sure Elena is still giveing that tired BETRAY ME AND I SHAL WIPE YOUR MIND CLEAN speech to say the least, Avenger is a thug with Ideals, and Arrowhawk is still stuck half in the failed scared straight campaign from the eighties. But they all intend to do good works." He pointed out with a shrug. "If you think you can serve as a role model and that these cut corners are nto how things should be done why not show them a better way? Running now you just lose what credibility you have earned." He finished with a shrug and a quick apology "Sorry if i spoke out of turn." It may be harsh words but Ace really felt anything less blunt just wouldn't sink in.
  11. Mike stared at the machine uncertainly, "Uhmm so do we just yank it out?" He asked uncertainly and looked to Geckoman and Edge to see if they had any idea what this thing was. He made sure to stick close by in case there was something dangerous but it looked like the guards were just bluffing.
  12. Initiative - Round one 16 Guards - engineers 3 Guards and 2 engineers remain, 1 guard is bound and helpless 16 Phantom - 1HP - Uninjured 11 Fluer de Joie - 3HP - Uninjured Phantom is up.
  13. The coiling tendrils quickly enveloped the man much to his horror. As he struggled witht he grasping vines the two engineers on that side of the room quickly ran out the door just before another managed to mash an alarm button somewhere. Red Klaxons flared to life and a digitized voice announced something in russian. Neither of the women knew what it said but it wasn't hard to guess. The two guards opened fire on Phantom their energy blasts impacting harmlessly on her forcefield, while two more engineers fled through the door betwixt them. The final engineer was frantically working at one of the stations seemingly paying no mind to the Heroes, alarm, or gunfire.

  15. The crackly mystic bolt took the guard full in the chest slamming him up against the wall where he fell in a ruined heap a faint whisp of smoke coiling up form his unconcious form.
  16. Toughness save (1d20+8=16) Unconcious Fluer is up.

  18. Angels charge into their midst led to an imediate tangle as she tried to trip up the fleeing mobsters. In a flurry of arms and legs the mobsters tried to retain thier footing and two managed to while Angel herself fell to the ground entangled with the well dressed mobster who found himself unceremoniously deposited in a flowerbed.
  19. Ok Initiative - Surprise Round 16 - mooks 10 total - 4 are armed with guns of some kind. 16 - Phantom - 2HP - uninjured 11 - Fluer de Joie - 2HP - uninjured I gave you each an HP for havign to rescue your men from certain peril. Phantom is up.
  20. Ok you guys have surprise but I'm gonna need initiative just in case. Initiative (1d20+2=16) Guards and engineers go on 16
  21. The engineers were busily at work maintaining the small reactor that served as the bases primary power source. There were armed guards stationed at each end of the room two to each of the two doors leading into the rest of the complex. When Phantom and Fluer de Joie suddenly appeared in their midst they almost didn't notice until Phantoms voice boomed across the cramped room. The engineers immediatly ran for one exit or another while the guards began to raise thier weapons to fire at these interlopers.
  22. Trip atttack defense (1d20+3=8, 1d20+3=13, 1d20+3=13) One is succesfully tripped the others are not. They attempt a counter. Counter trip checks (1d20+3=22, 1d20+3=23) Need two strength, dex, or acrobatics (Whichever of the three is highest for you) checks Angel DC 22 and 23 respectively.

Flashlight in hand Mike began making his way down the narrow passageway, Mrs. Albright had been a hero true enough but she had been a Hero during the Moore act, when people like Archer and the rest of Force Ops were heroes. Non-lethality wasn't as assured as James indicated but Mike was confident he could get between his friend and danger in time if anything truely nasty came up. As he proceeded eh called back over his shoulder to Mark and Alex, "So whats the map say next?"
  24. It really fires but is very low powered. less powerfull than a handgun more powerfull then a pelletgun? That'd be my guess at least from what I've seen about it. He has plans for a more powerfull version though.
