Ace shrugged non-commitally, "I haven't worked out the specifics yet but you can count on their hubris if the stories are to be believed at least." he explained. He smiled over at Stesha, "I don't plan on costing any of our lives, or serious injury even." He patted her hand gently and continued, "Taylor has said she'll concern herself with her oaths, I trust her to do so. If she can't help then we find another way, but I'm fairly certain that won't be an issue in the end." Stesha seemed to be doing a bit better but there was a secondary reason he had selected this establishment, he motioned the waiter to bring the desert tray. Moira had told him about her mysterious cheesecake benefactor it had been fairly easy to find out the details, a little something to remember her friend by certainly couldn't hurt.

"After you." Mike said with a nod as the doors slid open at the exit. Following Erin out he took a deep breath as if a weight had been lifted, "Yea he might be bitter but I think he actually thinks it helps or something. I guess thats almost worse in a way." He said as they turned towards the cafateria. "I can't really imagine what more you need to learn, you seem to have it all pretty well down." Mike said honestly, he didn't want to get into the whole control issue again really but after her display in the Doom Room he was impressed.

Mike smiled as James approached, "Just showing him the basics." Mike said as they headed over to the main quad and school buildings. Glacing at James with a wave Mike brought him up to date, "JJ was asking about super teams or clubs and what not." "The new group is Young Freedom, kinda cheesy name but it was a spur of the moment thing." Mike said shifting his attention back to Jadon. Mike looked around at the question about Eddie, "Yea, Eddies a bit uhhhm, easily distracted." He explained with a shrug.

Mike wished more than ever that Mark was there at that moment, "Uhhh yea I'm sure there are some clubs and stuff. Theres a couple superteams too but officially we're not supposed to do stuff with powers off school grounds." Mike said somewhat uncomfortable, Recruitment really wasn't his bag and he looked around to see if one of the others were around to fill Jadon in. "Course its also basically unenforced, I don't really get it to be honest. Anyway the newest group just started up and we're kinda recruiting, though I'm not exactly sure what the criteria are." Mike said while silently thinking to himself 'If we even have any'

Ace frowned slightly at the villians speach and decided he should be removed before he started more trouble. He motioned for a couple of the police and paramedics and approached Malice recognizing him from an event not long ago Ace addressed him cordially, "Mr. Michaels you've done all you can here. If you'll come with these officers over to the ambulance we can get underway and get you to a doctor." You catch more flies with honey than vinager his mother used to say and best not to insite another rant about the mans conspiracy delusions.

Mike hessitated a second then nodded saying, "Yea a few, Honestly I'm probably not the best one to expalin all that stuff I've heard stuff. Theres a training room underground, and something hidden on the third floor of the library." Mike realized he wasn't even that aware ofthe secrets of the school. "I just started at the begining of the summer, so I haven't gotton the full spiel either."

Shield according to UP is sustained duration and it didn't look like you had bought the duration up on your sheet. And while it does keep them from running it doesn't really impact their aim at this point (they did lose a round of actions aclimating though)

Mike nodded, "Yea I can see that, the thing just gives me the heebie jeebies." He said with an exagerated shudder. He hit the botton for the exit level and turned to Erin as the doors shut, "I dunno why really, I just don't like the feeling of being watched and judged by some unknown criteria. I guess it woudl be better without Archer he reminds me of the guys at the institute every answer to a question was met with 'Hmmmm Interesting' like they were weighing it and analyzing everything. From what Alex says they pretty much were." Mike wave one big hand dismisively, "Guess I should just forget about that though. Just not give Archer the satisfaction of squirming on the hook."

Well yea that too but mostly if Ace should adress him as Malice or Mr. Michaels when he brings the cops and paramedics in to take him away.

The girl began to calm to her boyfriends prodding right before the car hurtled up into the air sending her into all new levels of hysteria. Her boyfriend shouts, "We won't go back you bastards." and pulls out a handgun firing several shots through Dark Stars insubstantial form. As the two young people in the car panic the seeming leader of the group of armed thugs regains his equalibrium and fires a stream of sickly red energy from his rifle scoring a direct hit on Dark Star. He then begins shouting orders, "Blue team take down these so called heroes. Red Team pop smoke, Kowalski ignore the kid and get clear."

Since the kid can't do anything should he hit I'm not bothering with rolls for his pointless attack. Thug Leader Fires on Dark Star, Attack roll on Dark Star (1d20+8=24) So You have to check for each effect you want to maintain Cy (Sorry I'm learning how this stuff works as we go unfortunately) So I'll need a check for your shield power and any others that you want to keep up, you already maintained the gravity control. If your shield is maintained its a DC 24 toughness save if your shield goes down its a DC 28 Toughness. Thug Leader then orders the other thugs as a move action.

Mike shrugged as they walked down the long hall. "I never really thought about it honestly," He said pensively, "I guess I just assumed they formulated them based on what kind of reactions they want. Like a test to see how we react to stimuli, though I suppose they might be loosly based of the real deal, Mark'd probably know." Mike really tried not to think too much about what the Doom Room was intended for, he just assumed it was more mind games like his first visit. Today he felt a bit better about it as it seemed that tey had passed the test whatever it actually may have been.

Sparks shot from the gun before it finally exploded in a flash of light its wielder however seemed unfazed by these events. He tosses the wrecked weapon to the ground and takes up a rough fighting stance.

I need a clarifacation from Cyroa, did you increase or decrease gravity? Increaseing pins them decreaseing throws them up in the air at which point they fall for damage. I misread at first and thought that you had increased but it looks like you decreased what did you want to do? Mike stood up from his sprawl on one of the couchs when Jadon returned. "Sounds good." The bulky teen said as he made his way to the door. Stepping out of the administration building Mike gestured to the left, "The staff quarters and dorms are over that way." He said, "We'll swing by those again later." He led Jadon down the wide walk and into the gardens. There were a variety of exotic plants as well as more mundane examples along with beautifully landsacped walks and secluded benches. "The gardens are a nice place to come and just get away from everything, or get some studying done outside." Mike explained trying to forget his own embarassing incident in the garden earlier that summer.

Mike too seemed to be expecting the other shoe to drop but didn't really seem to relax much when it didn't. He looked over to Erin as she spoke responding, "I wouldn't let ya fall." with a small smile. "Lunch sounds good." He replied ot her other question. Mike was happy to get out of the Doom Room, and glad that things seemed a bit better between Erin and himself, seems Chris and Eddie were right on some stuff. The tall boy waved goodbye to Mr. Archer and with a gesture to the door said, "After you." to Erin and folowed her out and towards the elevator.

Ace laughed, "Indeed it is a bit beyond the norm even for me I must admit but thats part of what keeps things from getting dull right?" He asked. Taking a slightly more somber tone he further explained his current plan, "The way I see it once we discover how she was first allowed to be here we just hav eot reinvoke that privlage or whatever." Ace paused to take a sip off of his wine before continueing, "To gods death isn't really an option, its not a way to vanquish foes when your foes are fellow immortals. Now seeing them cast out ont he otherhand is a time honored tradition particualarly amongst that pantheon." Not that Ace was all that positive of this but his reading of the myths and legends seemed to lead in that direction at least. "So those most opposed to her elevation, woudl want exactly what we want, for moira to be sent back here for all time." Ace shrugged as he spoke, "As for details the myths of the greek gods indicate a strong fondness for contests, and a surprisingly high failure rate on the parts of the gods, so I imagine when it comes down to it that will be the best way to get her family to release her." It was simple really accept challenges from the gods and then beat them at thier own game how hard could it be?

"I wouldn't worry about it then, its entirely possible she didn't even know it. From what I've gathered her parents were not the most forthcoming with information about her heritage." Ace said with a shrug At her question he looked up guaging her concern quietly, "Well the olympians are a fractous lot to start with. They have grudges dating to pre-history that still are going strong." He explained. Pausing he tried to come up with a good analogy for the rest of what he had learned, "Also there is a limited pool of power that they all have, if she is imbued with full deific status and given some kind of dominion its coming right out of another gods pocket, and possibly cutting in line for such favor as well. Suffice to say some of the gods may be able to offer some indirect aid to our cause for thier own reasons."

Mike laughed softly at that, "I dunno probably some kinda of research don in the 50's that said this was conducive to getting kids respect, and by respect of course they meant scaring the pants off 'em." Since most of the paperwork had been handled on prior visits it was a quick stop. a few last minute forms regarding the rooming situation and picking up the keys. "That wasn't too bad we can go check out the room now if you like, or I can show you around the rest of the place first. Up to you." Mike said goodnaturedly

Mike blinked disoriented by the sudden end of the simulation. He still wasn't completely used to the faux reality ending so ... abruptly. "Well we managed to retrieve Strongman," Mike said, "Or likely woudl have at least, his back up escaped but wasn't a primary target regardless. More importantly no signifigant collateral damage and no bystanders were harmed, I'd say it was rather successfull." Mike didn't feel the need to point out his own inadequacies in the realm of combat as really that was a fairly well known issue at this juncture. However he expected that there was some other lesson they were supposed to have learned from the scenario, likely about the hidden escourt that had surprised them.

No not Toughness Its a stun effect not a blast Ok missed by one isn't too bad thats a Dazed result so normal defense but you can't take actions for a round. But any sustained powers will drop when you can't take a free action to maintain them, unless you make a concentration check to keep them active as a reaction. Edge is up.
