Mike jogged quickly over to the boys lockers and changed into his school uniform crudely stuffing his other clothes into the gym bag afterwards. He wasn't that fond of the form fitting uniforms personally he always felt a bit naked and exposed in the tight material but it was comfortable he had to give them that. He shouldered his bag and headed back out to wait with Alex for Erin to get there.

Mike gave his friend a beleaguered look and sighed uncertainly. He knew she was right of course about not having to hold back against Erin and he certainly was one of the few students or teachers for that matter who could handle a punch from her if she did go all out. In fact before even coming down here he had decided to go along with the plan but still felt the need to put up at least token resistance. Finally he shrugged, "Ok, Ok enough with the puppy dog eyes I'll do it." He then glanced around "Here or downstairs? I mean if we go all out I don't think the walls are up for it." He said with a considering look.

After the return of Marrionette Ace needed a little R&R it had been a rough case that pointed out some of the less comfotable issues of his eternal existance. Some mihgt take the chance for quiet reflection after such an event, Ace however prefered loud music and beautiful people. He strolled casually past the bouncer with a nod and a smile much to the disappointment of those in line and went to the bar to order his trademark Scotch on the rocks before turning to survey the packed nightclub.

Mike cocked an eybrow at his diminuative friend, "High? Ok you asked for it." he said with a grin. Then with a quick flex of his arms she was airborn. It took only a fraction of his strength to send Alex sailing nearly ten feet in the air over the deep end though he had been kind enough at least to send her up in an even arc rather than tumbling head over heels. He was glad the other boys were all so involved with their own antics that there was still plenty of room in the deep water without risk of her hitting someone.

Ace let slip a wry grin at Breakdowns comentary, "Mostly it just means we do it the old fashioned way." He said with a wink Phantoms direction. "Few criminals are quiet that crafty unless they know they are being watched for, which says to me they are expecting heroic intervention." He turned and answered his phone quickly turned back to the assembled heroes after a short conversation. "Not much of use but whatever has cleared the streets did it quick, no idea wheres everyone went though." He said with a concerned tone. As Edge sailed off towards the cannery Ace sighed "Definitely should have taken the rocket boots." He mumbles as he begins walking toward the fire escape once more.

Mike waited for the others to leave almost as if he had more to say before he turned and lef the office shakeing his head as if convincing himself of something. 'Might regret this choice? I already do.' He thought to himself drearily. Eddie and Mark were clearly elated, whether for getting away with it or surrviving or just over the events themselves he wasn't even sure he wanted to know. He trudged back towards his room to call his parents before they heard somewhere else.

Mike stepped forward and held the woman somewhat gingerly but prepared for her to fight back none the less. He glanced about nervously, "Does mind reading even stand up in court? I mean I don't know if there is anythign we can do." he said as Alex moved to begin the mind reading. Mike didn't like this whole situation it seemed all too likely to go horribly awry, they weren't even really supposed to use their powers out of school , this would be hard to explain at the least.

Mike was relitively unsurprised at her pounce, once Mark had tackled James he was fairly certain what Alex would do it was an exchange they had had many times over the years after all. Now knowing she was going to jump on his shoulders and knowing when however were two very different things. He was still watching the other boys splashing about when she hoisted herself out of the water in her attempt to dunk him. As she tried valiently to move him Mike laughed quietly to himself, "Oh dear I think I'm losing my footing." He said his voice dripping with his favored deadpan sarcasm. A broad smile spread across his face then and he flung one arm up and over Alex pinning he rto his shoulder and dropped back into the water letting his weight and utter lack of buoancy sink them quickly to the bottom. He settled there for a moment before gathering the slight young lady into his arms in a cradle carry and standing pulling them up out of the water once more. "Never gonna learn are you." He whispered in her ear with a low laugh.

Also if its a reflex save wouldn't vestige be caught in it (if in the area) unless specifically excluded by the selective feat? (as would Ace unless DS has an accurate or would it just need to be accute? sense other than vision or hearing to use to select not to effect him) *edit: So his gravtic sense should notice Ace and he can chooe not to effect him with selective right? **edit 2.0: Answered in chat. Caught by surprise Mike hit the water with a resounding splash his bulk throwing water high in the air, then he shot out of the water and several feet into the air as he reflexively tried to 'catch' himself. He considered flying over to change into his suit but already soaking wet decided to instead shuck his shirt and jacket tossing them onto the pool deck and revealing the bodybuilder like physique he normally kept hidden away. Despite his rare at best exposure to the sun his skin was a rich bronze as if he tanned regularly. After wipeing the stray hair form his face he dropped back into the pool still wearing his pants and proceeded to give James the thorough revenge dunking he deserved but with a friendly smile none the less.

This whole conversation really was getting to be just too much for Mike. Not the most sicially adept at the best of times once uncomfortable feelings showed up that was his cue to make a graceful exit or at least and exit. "Uhh, yea ok well I'm gonna jump in the pool then." He said awkwardly to Eddie. As he started to walk away he glanced back at Eddie "Seriously, if you wanna teach her go for it." He stalled for a moment with uncertainty on his face "And thanks for asking I guess." For Mike it was very much outside of his comfort zone but he was making an effort.

Mike looked up in vauge disbelief at what Eddie was saying and was downright boggled by Chris' statement. "Uh, yea I care about her she's like my best friend. I mean I've known her like forever." He said obviously confused by their line of thought. "But I don't see how that means I care if Eddie teachers her to dance as long as its not like innappropriate or something ... you know like on all those MTV spring break shows." It was hard to tell if Mike was continueing to try and keep up appearances of disintrest or if he was really that out fo touch with both his feelings and the teen boy experiance.

Mike lumbered over to Eddie with a questioning look when beckoned. The look quickly turned from questioning to confused and maybe a bit uncomfortable as Eddie asked his permission to teach Alex to dance. "Uhhm, sure?" He finally said uncertainly. Mike really didn't seem to understand why he was being asked about this "I mean as long as its none of the freaky spring break in cancun kinda dancing I don't think her folks would care." He continued having decided Eddie was asking him as a friend of the family.

Opting to keep the police in the loop as it seemed they had time before the deal itself went down Ace waited till the next moring to further pursue his leads. By then the trace on the phone had gone off and it was a relitively simple matter to track the general vicinity of his tail from the day previous. Wrokign with the police to ensure they got the guy Ace was mostly on hand in case he was something more than his previous investigations had indicated and to question him about his mysterious employers when the time came.

Ace shook his head saddly as they took her away. She had been a dangerous terroist before certainly, but this maddness was something Ace couldn't help but feel for her about. He knew why what had been done was done to her before. She was a menace and the sentiment at that time was not friendly to even the heroic metahumans. But it had broken her in the end, Ace knew a bit about various ways of coming back and had serious worries that this would not be the last he saw of Marrionette. Pushing aside his rather maudlin self reflection he thanked the officers for their speedy response and jumped back into his car gunning it for midtown and his late lunch.
