  1. Chris was glad for the excuse to look away from the body and Persephone could a feel a quaver in his lithe frame as she laid her hand on his shoulder. He quietly took the offered root and robotically placed it in his mouth, "Yea thanks." he mumbled and squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, "I, uhm, haven't really, seen...." A body before, not that he remembered, he couldn't even finish the sentence. But with her aid he seemed less pale and steadier on his feet. He looked to her with some concern narrowing his eyes, "Don't push yourself too far either." he asked plaintively. Steadier after the talk and boost from Persephone Sagrado Corazon returned to the scene glad the body was at least covered now. He moved from one group to the next ushering the badly injured to Persephone and keeping a wary eye on the plant controller that was giving so much. Where he could he worked his own abilities to help the milder injuries or stabilize a victim for transport. He mostly focused on calming and entertaining those displaced but unharmed, finding 'lost' toys or heirlooms fortunately intact, at least after a little push on the walls of reality. By morning his mother was beside herself with worry so he got an earful but managed to slip away to see what all this Hero talk was about. Getting his costume cleaned without her noticing was a miracle in and of itself and he still wasn't sure he deserved to be there no less if he was going to reveal himself. But he tossed a loose hoodie and jeans over his costume and joined the crowds making his way close to the dias as he tried to decide how to proceed. He had been able to help the night before. More with them than without. But he also wasn't sure he was more aid than liability.

  3. Kam listened marking down notes in a small book as Aquaria answered the other students questions and as the Atlantean general began to engage let his gaze drift to the Headmistress who surely knew this outcome was ensured when the partisan first attended, frowning as it occurred this may have been her intention from the beginning. As the discussion grew more contentious and less useful his frown deepened. He stood and spoke not awaiting being called upon lest this disastrous debate spiral further into the Atlantean-Lemurian conflict. "Ms. Innsmouth," He began and let his eyes slide to focus on General Dalekos, "In the interest of the educational purpose behind this lecture." he began pointedly as he looked back to the Deep One, "It is notable that you do not superficially match the common descriptions of the Deep Ones, historically, or as discovered in more recent encounters." He paused briefly letting that small point sink in and hopefully cool the more heated moods in the room, "Is it correct to infer that your kind is varied in form and culture much as those on the surface or among the Atlantean peoples?" he inquired curiously and smiled gently, "I am curious if perhaps your experience and our experiences with others of your kind may be incongruous due to these differences?"
  4. I somehow lost this one in the shuffle. Tom is barely hanging on to unlife so the fight is likely nearly over he's not going to recover enough to fight back anytime soon. Unless there is a request to the otherwise I think we can end this with a big combo attack type situation. A final round in whatever post order makes sense to you all to bind him up and finish him off in a group effort. Since he should have been knocked prone and possibly gotten Knockback from tiamat and didn't I'm gonna give Fox an HP to clear his daze and I think that leaves us with everyone available. @Avenger Assembled @Electra @Fox @Thevshi @KnightDisciple
  5. The Dragons scythe like claws rent flesh bone and vine alike asunder as Tiamat's vicious attack sent the undead fiend staggering back with the force of the blow. The Zombies continued to rise but ther pace slowed further still as the source of their power was diverted to the greatest of their number. Cyprus was barely holding himself together but still a danger to both the League and the city. What had roused his anger once more was a mystery but it was not yet spent though the battle turned further against him by the moment.
  6. He couldn't say he was surprised nothing more had been revealed at the churches, he couldn't say why but he felt he'd have known if they had been desecrated as well. Chris rode along with the others as they backtracked towards where the creature had emerged from the swamp. When they came upon the injured and frightened citizens he paused to offer what consolation he could, a few words of strength, it lightened the load, and those watching carefully might note a telltale glow at a touch here or there granting at least relief from the pain of injuries. At the sight of hte body, bodies, Chris was nearly sick again and he stood back, "Can anyone search for evidence or should we call the police?" he asked uncertainly, "This seems placed and..." he shook his head. Even if this was the one behind the creature he didn't deserve this.
  7. Thanks you are very easy to talk to. Fa'Rua looked down at the remainder of the reply and smiled I've never actually been, but it's definitely on the list now The lor checked comparative times and did some quick calculations I'll probably be back on sensor duty in your, evening? 1800 hours? and have personal time in the block before then, from 1400 hours? I think I translated time correctly based on the timestamps for your Freedom Hall. You've made a slow night much more pleasant.
  8. Kam nodded to the salute with a slight wince. Not that his sister hadn't largely ensured the school at least suspected theri true status but none the less he was trying to remain low profile. "Ah he's not the only one trying to keep their rank unobtrusive." he added with a wink. "As for 'OctoBen' I hav...." Kam flinched slightly at the sudden noise of Bens arrival, "a feeling he's arrived." he finshed with a low laugh and moved to a seat as well as the guest of honor arrived and he sat in rapt attention as the talk began. What came next was to say the least not what he expected. And then directly into questions he paused trying to form one with what he knew of the deep ones.
  9. Kam shook his head, "No This Ben must be new this year, we often get transfers in the later years many abilities manifest along with approaching adulthood and all that." the secret prince revealed. He simply glanced at Leroy as he went to knock on the RA's door to no avail. "I am not certain I can help but if you have any questions about the arrangements here I may be able to point you in the right direction." Because Kam of course had committed the student handbook to memory in addition to spending not insignificant time exploring the campus in the prior year. Kam looked on on growing horror at Leroys emotional rollercoaster of a tale and his, unique, approach to romance. The Dakanan blinked slowly as his roommates explanation drew to a close, the boy struck momentarily speechless at the rather audacious tale. "Ah yes my expertise in that may be less than you give credit for but I think I might be able to identify some, ah, missteps?" he suggested gently. "First things first, did you perchance apologize in the course of this display of devotion or ...?" he asked a bit tiredly and bit his lip nervously, "Marriage is not normally arranged at such ages, and uh, blooded anything is in the territory of the unusual to say the least." he let out a small sigh, "Ashley I'm sure is protective they seem to be of quite conservative background despite the fate of their world." he paused to consider the situation for a long moment, "If she truly feels as you do Judy will come around if you manage to make genuine amends." he glanced to the stairs then paused thinking carefully, "Ashley may feel a responsibility for her younger sister without family here, perhaps you should make clear to her your intentions and impress upon her that you'll not break her sisters heart with your antics, that this is real and not a spoiled princes flight of fancy." Kam looked thoughtful at the last and grew introspective murmuring under his breath, 'no this is completely different than..' He looked back up at Leroy defensively, "Think of the long game not grandiose gestures."
  10. I've heard stories of some of the, Heroes?, of Terra. I honestly thought they must be exaggerations. Fa'Rua looked at the details the matrix provided on 'nukes' and blanched, Clearly they were not. A military grade longarm can handle most wildlife and pirates we encounter thankfully. She waited fiddling with the controls on the scanners absently as Ashley excused herself. Worth the wait The Lor suggested playfully, That's the kind of 'gun' I'd be happy to have close at hand in a tense situation.
  11. Fa'Rua restrained herself from further commentary on the womans living situation though she grew more curious by the moment. Somewhat, there is basic combat training, but I focused more on rifle training beyond the basics. She paused a moment and continued carefully, My brother has trained in an order of contemplatives, he's a mentat? has abilities beyond the average Lor, the focus has helped him a great deal. Also made him insufferable. But he is skilled in hand to hand combat as a result and has given me at least a working knowledge of the basics. Still prefer a good blaster at my side.
  12. Kam arrived slightly ahead of hte start time and watched with some curiosity the interplay between the young atlantean student and the others by the headmistress. He winced as the trying to be subtle royal was revealed by his subject knowing all to well that particular bob and correction. He let out a sigh and approached Heroditus with a warm smile, "Well he didn't seem to appreciate the honorifics." he joked lightly and indicated a nearby seat. "Probably trying not to bank on his rank I imagine. It is always surprising how many of refined lineage wish to escape such gilded cages yes?" He seamlessly moved on however not dwelling on the awkward interaction. "I know little of these 'Deep Ones' outside rumor and scary stories are your people more familiar?" he asked carefully trying to weigh if it was a problematic question before going too far down the line of questioning, "I do enjoy learning of other cultures and traditions however."
  13. Smooth Fa'Rua was briefly curious about the long pause and thoroughly amused at the reason. You work together? That's fun I work with my brother, which as you know can be a mixed bag. She paused considering for a moment before adding more. Particularly when they leave you with the night shift, though I may have to thank him considering the results. Yea I've always wanted to fly so I get that drive, discipline not so much
  14. Yea it's a blast, most gliders have chutes that open when you get low or lose too much speed so similar yea. Fa'Rua paused as she watched the video provided and searched out an example of her own. Wow, must take some prescision driving to keep a wheeled vehicle under control in that terrain. The Lor tradition of repulsorcraft meant the fly-by-wire systems did most micor adjustments. She finally dug up an exable she was happy with and sent it across. The rider looked like they were in a light battlesuit with a full helmet and armored plates over the vital areas. Mount points locked into a vaguely boomarang shaped skiff and held the rider rigid feet first while a control bar reached up that could flex the carbon fiber like wing slightly. The rider was mounted on the winge of a fixed wing craft moving at speed and there was a visible ring of vapor as they went transonic then released and trailed the launch craft as they carfully angled the wing to rise and fall and spiral around the nearly invisible line of the shockwave as it expanded out from the initial hypersonic crossing. As they lost speed and the wave disapated they angled the wing down and shot past the follow craft in a steep dive toward the surface of what looked to be a water world. That was a run I did a couple years back, not much chance lately. Wow I never managed to get any of my hobbies to pay off like that, So you're like a martial artist? IS that from your family or somehting you picked up for taking down the bad guys?
  15. Yea my dad likes to joke he showed me the controls and lost all of his. Sounds like my kind of ride though. The Lor's reply was snappy and comfortable in the banter. She did pause a bit longer as she pondered the question. In republic space there were alot of options, Her mind went first to the skiffs they raced around the hulks off CoVic, or the repulsor craft most mining colonies raced after hours in the tunnels. Oh that's a tough one. Hyperglide. Strap into a aerodynamic skiff not much bigger than a person, Tow craft gets you up to transonic speeds and you ride the pressure wave all the way down. Right on the edge of controlled flight, adrenaline pumping, plus they build em for two if you're willing to get cozy. It was basically the bastard child of luge and wakeboarding, but the wake was a transonic pressure wave. Perfect first date. In Fa'Rua's book at least.
  16. Chris was happy to have most of the gross matter that had washed over him at hte beasts fall be burned or washed away and was enjoying the relative fresh air when he was snapped back to the present by Rileys insistent question. He slowly shook his head as he approached the hole the others had descended into. "I am not certain." He admitted, "They were, restless, abominations before ..." he shook off repeating the rantings of the Voice verbatim. Taking a deep breath he began again, "The dead have earned their rest I sent them back to it." he explained as concisely as he could and peered over the edge, "I don't know of magic really." he shrugged and looked back up to Riley, "But the big one was heading to another church over a few blocks." he offered helpfully, "Maybe it was destroying these symbols or maybe it was called by them being destroyed?" he offered the theory with a shrug, "Might be more intact ones at the next potential target."
  17. Kam would certainly attend though he probably already does some regular mindfulness exercises so I'm happy to have him on the fringes if it's getting too crowded in here.
  18. Kam heard Leroy before he saw him. Which was probably the norm for most of the residents of this earth. He stepped out of their room as the boys came down the hall, "Veronica's local." he corrected politely, "Janus is a from Fortuna, Technically, THEY, are a prince of Fortune." he gracefully placed the emphasis on the Dangers preferred pronouns. Perhaps too subtly. "But they don't use the title so..." He shrugged feeling he'd let the new student know enough not to accidentally stick his foot in his mouth with the Dangers. He offered a hand to Heroditus, "Kameron Kingdom" he introduced the athletic africans handshake was firm enough to indicate both his above average strength and the careful control he had of it. "I go by Kam among friends." he smiled wide clearly already including the atlantean in that number. "Leroy you're back, I was worried I'd have to convince a new roommate not to report my curfew violations." He indicated the room they were sharing this year where the Dakanans possessions were already neatly put away as he'd technically spent the summer at claremont, when not trotting the globe with the Dangers at least. "You uh run into Judy yet?" he asked uncertainly, last he'd seen the Smith sisters had been less than pleased with his absence, "Word of warning I think you should have sent a postcard."
  19. Wincing at the replies Fa'Rua frowned, If she wanted to to discuss the resilience of the Republic in the face of the incursions aftermath she'd wake up Jolan. Thankfully the woman on the other end rescued them from such dour subjects. Faster than the boys! she replied by rote with a sharp laugh that she worried might stir her brother. But he seemed still as a statue still so unlikely. Depends what I'm flying. I got my dads mining tug up to around a tenth of lightspeed before the motivator blew... I got sent to the academy after that. She looked down at the reply as it was sent biting her lip a bit not sure that would even make sense to the terran. In atmo gotta go slower but you feel the speed more. I'll take it slow with the right motivation. There back to the safe territory of harmlessly flirtatious.
  20. Thanks! The ears are pretty common in the part of the republic I come from, something of an aesthetic I guess but I've always had them. The reply was quick as she Fa'Rua fell into a more ease with the conversation. Yea the Republic is very diverse, more now even with refugees and the rebuilding efforts. The incursion was a downer even this far out from the events, best to lighten up. She hit the databank for info about this Vietnam maybe it'd be a lighter topic ... or not. Everyone coming together is pretty inspiring, and lots of new styles and foods to try out you know? It's similar in, America?
  21. Alright I spent the other points in the container to fix the elongation error I made grumble pointed out in chat and to add acute smell. corrected the melee focus and put that PP and the 5 from the drawback into his bike so now he has the battle cannon from a star cruiser as a sidecar.
  22. Frowning at the empty reply box Fa'Rua wondered if she'd pushed too far and pondered how to reel it back before the reply finally arrived and she breathed a sigh of relief. She quickly perused the answer and smiled firing off a reply to not keep the other woman waiting. Casual comfort, I like it. not too aggressive but positive Athletic 1.77m, Hair white going to violet tips... Punk I guess is your word? The translation matrix seemed to suggest it applied, What is it they say images are worth more words? the translation matrix seemed to struggle a bit with idioms. The message was followed by a file transfer which considering the distance traversed was quite snappy. If Ashley opened it she'd see a waist up shot of a pale toned humanoid, She was wearing a flight suit but had it rolled to the waist and belted by the arms with only a midriff baring tank top. The woman's hair was bright whit down to the roots, probably natural, and ombre'd through pastel lavender to a deep violet at the tips. It was long on top but tightly cropped at the sides and currently hung over her face playfully almost hiding the elfin curve of her features and hinting at the almost luminous purple of her eyes. The hair did nothing to hide the slight point to her ears. There now you can picture me whenever you like Dark hair is, rare, for my people, very exotic, which given where you're from should probably surprise me less.
  23. A woman after my own heart the Lor replied immediately If there is a culture in the galaxy that hasn't mastered recreational fermentation I've yet to meet them She looked over the remains of the message a bit more thoughtfully Well I for one support your branching out then. She pondered the last line for a moment longer and shrugged, 'Fortune favors the bold' Why Ms. Mouse are you asking what I'm wearing? I'm scout corps so dress code can be more, relaxed, far from base.
  24. Snickering a bit in amusement, 'Oooh top secret terran policing' Fa'Rua murmured under her breath but she got it. Even if she wasn't a security risk no reason to risk a write up. Well I'm glad of that at least. She replied not poking at the grues whole thing being not sounding (or looking) like grue. Other than chat up mystery women in the middle of the night? She asked flirtily I like to travel, See new things. Off duty it depends where I'm at, most bases have a vibrant bar scene but not much else, I imagine it's alot like it is for you off duty. When I get the chance I like try something new, faster the better. How about you? What're you into for fun?
