"Yes that must be quite the story." Kam replied looking once more at the arm and clearly trying to figure out more without leading questions that might reveal too much. Robin seemed noble and certainly kind, he did not relish the possibility that she or her contacts had stolen technology from his homeland. He checked the label again and nodded, "of course, make a dangerous drug more so." he sighed with resignation. "It came from riverwalk veterinary, they were not subtle." he offered helpfully, the small clinic would be closed this time of night and its location south side would mean it was close but not as secured as local supplies.. The perpetrators had simply smashed an office window and grabbed what they wanted before police could arrive on scene. "I saw them flee the scene and pursued." the costumed vigilante explained as he followed her procedure with keen interest. "You sound more fond of this place than I would expect of a native." he inquired curiosity piqued. He hadn't meant many locals outside the carefully curated list the school brought in for specialty training. This wasn't an opportunity wished to waste, "This," he gestured at the box with a nod, "Is unlikely to be their only source it seems your neighborhood will be less safe if the rest gets to the streets."

The masked hero looked up as Robin called out quickly taking in the faces in the windows and lights quickly dimming as the less criminal residents returned to their fitful sleep. Robin could make out the telltale swallow of his shock and discomfort with what she'd kept him from doing. "They call me the Red Lynx." he replied voice dropping to a lower and quieter register than his initial surprised remarks. "Skittish criminals with firearms." he sighed, "A volatile combination." Pulling aside the loose covering the thieves had laid over their ill gotten gains he looked down at the box and it's markings. "Canine anti-parasitics." he mused quietly and pulled the materials sheet from it's pocket on the box examining the list of chemical components in the the veterinary dewormer. "I'm not sure to what purpose it can't be of value in it's current form and none of these are precursors to pharmaceutical analogues." he sifted through the trunk absently searching for further clues. "Nor explosives or toxins even if their MO indicated such capability." which clearly from his tone he did not believe it did. "Is Fred your contact with local law enforcement then?" he inquired casually, "I could report on the initial theft to him if that would be of service." he was very much not from around here that was increasingly clear.

OOC for this An HP to Jessica for her The Sin In My Veins complication And if either of you are going to start the fight now I'll need initiatives.

The two looming figures that had shoved themselves this far through the line wore deeply hooded sweatshirts despite the heat, the light of thee day not penetrating the hoods shadow enough to make out more than the roughest of features beneath. A voice like the grinding of millstones rumbled out from one, "Too late witch blood." the other circling slightly toward Jack. Jessica could hear a ghostly howl erupt near the end of the line, a hellhound, and where there was one there were bound to be more, "Come" the other commanded. The implication was clear, the invisible beast would be set loose on the crowd if the heroes didn't do as they were told or negate them somehow first.

Adjusting the cuffs of his more formal patterned dress shirt in rich vivid red and white and gold threaded accents Kam returned and lightly patted the pale linen trousers he wore to ensure they hung correctly. "Ask questions and linger over the displays near the labs and storage centres." he murmured with a shrug, "They'll expect such probative behavior from a Danger." he explained with a wink and such distraction would serve to let those with less public talents to see what might be seen. He looked to his sister and raised a brow, "How did you want to play this?" he enquired as a royal spat might well separate them to cover more ground but would also get word back to their parents of their involvement. Together they would be more prepared and attract less attention of course.

Huang started slightly at the voice he'd not heard for a very long time and gazed over the heads of most of the attendees at the dead man walking. "Ah yea, it's been a, long time." he admitted quietly. "Hey Burt." he offered a small wave uncomfortably aware of how unfamiliar his time displaced self would be to zombie. He leaned in to correct, "I think you mean Arcana." he murmured to his mother and stood to his full height to signal the young heroin in question with a raised hand and silent spell to carry the request for her presence on the etheric winds. The arrival of the flamboyant sorcerer from the skies above earned a narrowly suspicious squint for a moment, "That's an interesting place for you to be." he replied and smiled up at the taller man, "But most appreciated." he popped an olive in his mouth before his mother could reply or endebt herself to what might be an agent of the olympians trying to earn access to prime once more, "Delicious, you are too kind sir." he swallowed almost without chewing smiling wide with just a hint of elongated canine showing at the corners of his lips.

The two hoodlums looked to each other for a long moment with a shared grimace pistols aimed loosely in the hero's direction. As they swung back to the vigilante protector of the Fens their hands dropped to their sides and the guns clattered to the pavement. "Watch your back bitch!" one shouted as they turned and beat feet for the nearest ally. The threat was not entirely empty but this wasn't the first enemy Nighthawk had made and wouldn't be hte last. Most were just clever enough not to try anything. Red Lynx emerged from the shadows as they vanished into the ally the ring of the fence they jumped echoing down toward the pair left in the dim light of the flickering vacancy light. The young Dakanan starred after the retreating criminals with a shake of his head and rounded on the interloper who had interrupted his take down. "You are just going to let them go?" he rumbled challengingly as he approached and examined the young woman standing before him. His eyes lingered long on the mechanical arm with recognition and he looked to her with suspicion, "No wonder the villains of this city continue to prey on these unfortunates." he growled and stalked toward the open trunk to recover whatever the thieves had stolen.

Huang straightened reflexively before frowning down at his mother for correcting his posture though wiped the expression form his face before she could notice he hoped. Taking the offered goblet he gestured toward the familiar spellcraft slicing through the Elder Signs wards as they spoke. "Looks like she's arriving now." the younger Faretti replied and took a long sip of the offered drink before she changed her mind on the indulgence. "I expect she brought the other practitioners from the school, at least those she's fond of." he shrugged and looked with a slight wince toward where Dio lay, "Dragon's another classmates pet but I didn't think Leroy was a practitioner." he shrugged not having looked too in depth into the fellow student, he'd heard things about the awkward possibly extradimensional student but hadn't followed up on the rumors. Perhaps faster then she had intended Huang finished off the goblet and was already standing taller looking less wan and palorous with the sanguine pick me up. "Looks like most of the Clairemont practitioners have made it though." he looked to his mother quirking a brow not certain whom else she yet expected.

Alright let's go ahead and give me an intimidate check with a +2 circumstance bonus for the display and being on your home turf. Hoods get: 14 we'll be in rounds if they pass so give an initiative too if you don't beat a 14.

So a couple things I think you'll want to account for in the backstory a bit more thoroughly. The big one is Alpha-Centurion. He would have shown up in early days of Syagrius' initial research. How that affected his approach should have some mention. In addition to that when Legatus was finally revealed being secretive but also a not subtle clone of the Centurion would raise a HUGE number of red flags for the League even a decade and a half after the Alpha-Centurion. Not discussing his back story would be incredibly suspicious and revealing it only a little better. The league certainly isn't going to be 100% Sins of the Father about it but not really the kind of thing that can be glossed over with "The Freedom League accepted his reticence on the subject," You'd have to check with Tiff is it sounds like he was emulating Triakosias energy signature from the Void but from what I recall of that and Centurion is those energies and those of the terminus are pretty close. That would lead to some additional suspicion. To make absolutely clear none of that makes it a non-starter as a character. Starting from that kind of trust deficit and questioned worthiness is an interesting and fun story. But I do think you'll want to address both in his personality and in the history those past events and how they impact his view of the work and hte worlds view of him. This is ultimately a hero that was created through pretty extremely villainous means which can be a great dramatic origin but that is going to be a major part of his story.

The way the thugs jumped at the slam of the door told a story of both thier inexperiance and anxiety. If those traits were to Robins benefit was yet to be revealed. Kam froze in the deep shadow of the motels now defunct neon as the sound echoed in the parkinglot and shades were quickly drawn around the courtyard and the smater residents made for the back walls and bathrooms before the shooting could start. The metalic glint of the young womans arm caught his attention long enough that the thieves had slowly walked away from their vehical and positioned themselves between his hiding spot and Robins approach, backs to him as they pulled weapons from their waistbands. While most wouldn't see his dark form in the deep shadows robin likely coudl make out the man shaped shadow that lowered itself silently from the rooftop behind the men doubtless thinking it was coming to her defense. The pair she had threatened laughed off her words and leveled thier guns on her approaching form the light glinting off the nickle plating of the 9mm's as they held them steady in classic west coast gangster pose. Too much time at the movies not enough on the streets. These guys were teh most dangerous sort, toughs with alot to prove and no idea how in over their head they were. This could go south real fast if not handled with care. "Yea? How bout you walk away an forget you saw nothin?" the one on the left replied taking his eyes from Robin to smirk at his partner in crime, "Or we could give you a good reason not to be walking right if you ask real nice." he challenged gyrating his hips for emphasis at the offer.

Kam paused as he followed the ladies through the cracked slab examining the edges under his light for a moment. "Odd that this stone would crack though." he mused as he continued through the gap and down the far side, "It would bear less weight than the surrounding stones," he glanced quizzically to Veronica for confirmation, "Clearly the engineers of the era were able to create fitted masonry that would serve without such wear." He ran a hand on the far edge before turning to descend after the others, "If done by human hand though it is not by means I am familiar, explosives would cause much more damage to the surroundings, and manual removal would not create such a shear." He had neither the tools nore specific skills to analyze further but it stuck out to him, "If this room was accessed and emptied but the other left intact the opening must have come after the initial robbery..." it didn't add up entirely but he had a feeling the missing pieces had something to do with S.H.A.D.O.W and the attack on the museum.

As auspicious as his brith may have been it hadn't fallen on the solstice. None the less the schoolyard jabes had not gone unnoticed leaving Huang perhaps more on edge as to his relation to the Master Mage and position in the community. Ouroboros leaned sullenly against one wall of the establishment and ineffectively batted at the well meaning hands of the ghost that had been a 'his' nanny not many years ago by her reckoning at least as she tried to smooth the Dhampirs stubborn cowlick with just a bit of ectoplasm. Escaping his former caretakers clutches he made his way to the bar about to try to order something he certainly was not of an age by any count to consume. Staring down at the nonplussed face of yet another ghost who knew him well enough that any farce was hopeless the time lost sorcerer sighed heavily and ordered, "Just a soda then." taking the drink he sipped at it as he made his way around the tables trying to look older than his somewhere between 5 and 19 years depending how one counted. With a deep breath he did his best to throw off the mantle of sullen teen at his parents office christmas party and placed his sunglasses over his eyes hoping that might make him look aged beyond his youthful mein before anyone else arrived.

Gazing down the hall toward where the queens chamber lay Kam smirked, "Pharaoh as key queen as lock then?" hemused with a shake of his head, "Some things never change I suppose." he sighed as he started down the hall toward the lower chamber. "Architecturally it makes somewhat more sense to put any hidden rooms lower in the pyramid." he did agree however and let his light play over the relief lined walls as they moved on to investigate the 'Queens Chamber', "You mentioned the Queens chamber was not usually actually the tomb of the Queen?" he asked Veronica looking back over his shoulder, "I assume that was true here as well?"

Ace smiled to his Niece and Nibling as well as the Dakanan royals. "Almost there." he jovially offered as he turned back to the console in front of him. "I'm so glad you two and your friends found something to do this summer!" he excitedly exclaimed as he swung the Danger Jet in low over the waters of the Black Sea and engaged the jets stealth capabilities, the residents would not see them coming of that much they could be certain. The rocky shore of the, until recently, abandoned soviet era base was visible ahead and growing rapidly through the windshield. The squat towers of the base and low domes of bunkers almost hidden in the overgrown forest of the remote island in disputed territory. At least three soviet successor states claimed the island as sovereign territory, and the Russian federation still claimed ownership based on the military installation. Not that any exerted real control on the remote strip of land or its dilapidated cold war era buildings. Which is probably why their targets had chosen it as a base of operations in the first place. It certainly had made it all but impossible to get official clearance to investigate the resident organization on the island in the first place. Luckily for the occupants of the jet it this weeks Danger Family Motto was 'Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission' else Arsenal would be long gone after the setbacks in Dakana and Turkey. "You kids have everything you need? All packed?" Ace glanced over his shoulder to ask like a soccer mom dropping the kids off at camp or the mall for the afternoon. "You have coms you just call when you're ready to go and I'll be in to pick you up." he assured them as they broached the islands perimeter. Once assured all were ready he flipped the switch on the console before him and the klaxons rang out as the drop bay began to open in the floor for them to make the jump. The Danger patriarch gave the teens a thumbs up when they were in position signalling them to make the drop when ready. At the sign Kam dove fearlessly through the bay and as soon as he was clear pulled the low open chute dropping neatly into the clearing they had targeted on the west end of hte island where they could make their way to the installation itself unseen the hoped. On the ground he quickly gathered his chute and made for the treeline to wait for the others to complete their jumps.

"Of course you have." Kam ruefully shook his head long past having any real upset with his sisters more impulsive tendencies in such matters. He swung his gaze to Janus and Victoria with a slow nod, "Well never a dull moment it seems." he shrugged slightly and stood dressed for the moment in simple gray athletic wear much like he preferred at school in his leisure time. I'll have to get changed if we're going in even a semi official capacity." he noted and quickly stepped out to do so meeting them as transport arrived, in a subdued jewel tone shirt and a dark slacks. As they got under way he casually waited for the nearest staff to be out of earshot, "We'll just keep an eye open and if one of us manages to find an excuse to step away from the group perhaps we'll find something of interest yes?" he smiled easily enjoying hte prospect of breaking the rules in such a manner far more than he might have a year ago when like as not it would have given him palpitations.

With his sister and two Dangers involved Kam was surprised it had taken this long for the side trip to evolve into a globetrotting pursuit of international criminals with terrorist ties. Not that he'd offer complaint. As lovely as the lakeside estates of the Summer Palace were, they could be, dull, this was decidedly not dull. Emerging form below decks in comparatively simpler attire of slacks, deck shoes and ruby dress shirt he looked every bit the wealthy vacationer that he in reality was, in such a port of call such were a dime a dozen and hardly remarkable. The prince looked from Janus to his sister and nodded reluctantly, "I do not relish hearing the lecture about the honor and dignity of the Kingdom again when those hit." he mused with a smirk, "But I can not argue it is not our best move." Kam glanced to Victoria, "Entourage or shall we shadow them as independent members of the crowd?"

Sandman nodded sagely as the others spoke raising a brow at Terrificas commands with an amused tilt to his lips, "Unless one of you has means I lack we'll need some manner of remaining in contact." he suggested not directly opposing the imperious gadgeteers plan but certainly noting her choice to fly solo, "There my be residue in the mind of the victims as well if these attacks are from my protectorate." he added with a slight tilt of his head. "I imagine your skills would also be of use in searching student records." he added thoughtfully. He swept from the room at Bees suggestion however as any further details could be worked out as they left the building.
-
Nodding with a hint of disappointment but also relief Kam looked away from the intruding sand, while it was certainly best that no others had gained access to the tomb he had hoped it would be some clue as to what they needed to find yet. He paced the room methodically taking mental measurements as he examined the surfaces and walls for signs of unexpected wear or hidden edges or switches that might reveal more. "Did your parents record the hieroglyphs for translation in here?" He questioned uncertainty, "Can you make out any of this?" he gestured to the scenes on the obelisks, "Or anything look out of place? Older or newer iconography than Sanakhts era?" Turning he shrugged absently. "I'm not picking up anything that points to missing space or hidden chambers. Is this where the mask was found?" as he asked after the artifact he absently poked at the sandfall in case it hid some mystery in it's depths.

"DO WHAT HE SAYS!" Frankie bellowed the order as the guards briefly hesitated before slowly lowering their weapons. "Now get out I'll deal with this." he added earning unconvinced looks from the thugs but their eventual obedience. Word of Frankies sterling loyalty would get around, that was a certainty. Liam and Judex arrived moments after the guards left and could over hear muttered curses and resolute determination to get out of the flop house and see if they could get back in with the Mara. With the room empty of his fellow criminals whatever limited resolve Frankie had left him and he began to spill all he knew. "I'm dead is what you mean." he grumbled, "I don't have a name." he replied flatly, "All I know is he has the purest shit in this town and isn't with the families." he slumped back in his chair limp in Strix's grasp. "Came to me with some, made an offer, I took it." he shrugged, "I drive my van up to the warehouse, hand off the profits, his guys load the the van and I come back." Even without Strix's gifts he'd probably have broken, with them he was rattling off what he knew almost mechanically. "He came down here with a couple of his heavies, a duffle bag of guns and a duffle bag of cash and drugs to pay off some guys for the hit." Frankie droned on. "I put word out, he had names and pictures from some cop." He shuddered, "Probably a dead cop." "Anyway he said they went to the cops about our operation and had to be dealt with." Frankie seem unbothered by having been instrumental in the hit on the kids. "He has his heavies around the warehouse, bunch MAX junkies the way they toss the cargo around. Office in the warehouse with jars of weird ass shit, safe where he keeps cash and records, we record who and what we sell, one guy fucked it up and they were finding pieces of him for a week." "He's a damn psycho and..." Frankies eyes grew wide for a moment and he fell silent and began shaking violently and screaming in abject terror before soiling himself and trying to get away from something, something other than Strix it was like he didn't even see the vampire any more. A moment longer and he slumped eyes open but unfocused and breathing weak insensible to any stimulus, catatonic.
