  1. Ace laughed slightly at the image of Janus treating the elder coach in such a manner and shook his head, "Ah yes Korfanty is a bit beyond the years of active training." he agreed easily, "To her credit the man did say not to hold back." he pointed out with a shrug. As Erik tried to sus out pronouns he let Janus explain. The old adventurer was from a time with less concern over such things and was accustomed to transliterating genderless pronouns to gendered in english enough it hadn't really occurred to him to dig deeper. She handled hte question admirably and he rolled his eyes at the commentary about where she found her manners. "The Dangers are perfectly capable of etiquette and diplomacy." he pointed out squarely, "If you've encountered outhwise it must be intentional." he teased lightly and probably displayed precisely why he'd felt the need to point out to Janus that they needed to take care not to ruffle feathers. that being because Ace was almost incapable of not when visiting hte Espadas household. He nodded toward the center of the room as he shot Erik a wink, "You're going to thank me by the end of this." he promised with no small pride in his relations skill.
  2. Kam quickly agreed, "Yes, the beach would be wonderful." he answered honestly as in a landlocked nation even a prince rarely got to see the sea. "And I'll have to look into the forest you spoke of." he paused trying to recall his studies of the region prior to arrival, "That would be Wharton?" he clarified quietly. He offered a small laugh at Janus discussion of her learning to drive, "Well one imagines the chance of activating the ejector seat rather than the turn indicator alone would cause some worry." he joked readily. At Corriens explanation of her duties and busy schedule he nodded, "Well I think we'd all benefit from your expertise however." he smiled a quick conspiratorial grin, "I'd not tell if you reclaimed your rare free time." the name of her father did raise his attention though he downplayed it slightly, "I have heard of him yes." he cautiously and as neutrally as possible. Asad did not have the most sterling of reputations after all, "I may be misremembering as it has been some time since I've seen him on television or print but I must say from recollection I can't make out the resemblance."
  3. "I try to tell her it is an occupational hazard for men such as us." he agreed with Erik offering a small shrug at the intractable nature of the woman in question. He cleared his throat slightly, "The last one we got in a bidding war with the olympic committee over before your," he paused to stifle a laugh, "Unorthodox style?" he questioned the terminology and seemed satisfied after a bare moment, "Saw him returning to his coaching position." Ace was far more amused than Rachel had been about the entire affair which was why in the end he'd offered to see to finding her a trainer personally. After all he knew all the best people. Ace flashed a smile to Erik at the titles, "Ah Fortuna is a bit of a departure from our timeline." he offered helpfully, "Master would be equivalent to mister." and was a likely origin of the term given the dimensions commonalities. "But when she is your student I'm sure you will find what best suits your teaching style." he was quick to note though he allowed Janus to offer the details of her training.
  4. Ace for one was not above appreciating the display and offered a small quiet applause at the dismount. The elder Danger waved off the note of talyas absence, "Oh well so much the better I'm here to see you." he glibly replied his smile a little too winning. Ace Danger wanted a favor, and by the end of it expected at the very least expected Erik to accept that it was one the timeless hero was owed. He glanced to his niece fully away of the family resemblance, not helped by the fact they were more of an apparent age to be siblings than generations apart. "I found you a protege." he replied easily as he looked back to the swordsman a glint of mirth in his eyes. Letting out a small laugh at Eriks reasonable conclusion behind the resemblance he gestured to Janus, "Janus Danger, Prince of Aruivia." he introduced with mock solemnity. "A delightful Kingdom in the out of the way dimension of Fortuna. My brothers eldest settled down there." Ace explained as if that summation was nothing out of the ordinary. For a Danger it simply wasn't. Really though Erik hardly did any better. Pausing with a teasing smile, "Honestly with what Talya tells me of your antics I'm surprised you haven't stumbled upon it." The swashbuckler did have a penchant for accidental dimensional travel matched by few others. Looking back to Janus with a fond smile Ace completed the introductions, "Janus, Erik Espadas, The finest swordsman I have had the pleasure to know." Which given the Immortals time on this plane and others was really quite the statement of confidence.
  5. Saturday September Eighth 2018 10:00 AM Espadas School of Self-Defense and Swordsmanship But for the low hum of an electric motor and the tinted windows the Danger International fleet car that pulled to the curb a few car lengths from the Espadas Dojo was nondescript and would hardly elicit note from passer by. This was perhaps slightly less true about it's occupants. Before exiting the car Ace turned to his niece. "Alright so, as I said, he's the best, but also a little touchy about keeping a low profile." which was to say had a standing threat to stab Ace should he descend on his home with reporters again. "So uh, casual is hte rule I guess?" Low profile was really no more in Aces vocabulary than his companions, luckily this was actually nothing but a legitimate visit for the establishments actual purpose. That said the immortal adventurer hopped from the car and strode confidently up to the doors to the dojo slipping inside to await the proprietor, he'd even done the due diligence of arriving between scheduled classes.

    Assemble!

"You make a valid point." Kam conceded. The Dakanan clearly recalled similar events from his youth though he offered a small shrug, "Well there was usually music at least." he pointed out grinning. "I for one have faith that if there is troubled a Danger will be among the first to find it certainly." he teased lightly though at this school there seemed to be no small number of students that might be equally likely. As the staff filed in and the Headmistress silently called the student body to order he nodded to Victoria, "Well it seems we're about to find out then." he'd note before focusing his attention on the woman at the front of the assemblage once more.

    Assemble!

Nodding thoughtfully Kam considered the replies. "I had been under the impression the Headmistress was rather more circumspect in her efforts," he suggested with a shrug, "But point taken there are certainly benefits to a more personal approach than a pamphlet." the hidden prince agreed. "I think perhaps there are more similarities than your aunt may give credit for if not so much on the surface." He glanced back over his shoulder at the restless crowd of students and the murmurs with a hint of a smile, "It seems some are impatient to find out more however." he noted at his sisters musings and faced forward once more, "Perhaps that too is intentional." he agreed with some of the rumblings of discontent form further afield.
  8. Kam offered a friendly nod to the girl on the longboard, "Quite the conveyance." he noted with mild interest as Janus introduced him. "I take it you are not however new here either." he'd note from her clear comfort in the environs. Shaking his head slightly to Selena he lightly refuted, "I would not say it is the application but the discipline that I find the most interest." he let it drop however realizing that discussing the finer points of combat philosophy was perhaps not the best way to fit in as a relatively normal student. "In my free time I usually try to get out in nature, hike, swim, climb." he shrugged slightly, "I imagine here it will be less easily attained and I'll have to adapt to new environs." He nodded to Corinne , "Perhaps take up the skateboard."

    Assemble!

Kam remained almost too still in the face of the sudden noise, long training not to let such things show overcompensating for even a normal start at a loud noise. But for the scant glance at the door one might think he'd somehow not heard it at all. He smiled lightly at Janus response, "I think it would take a very foolish individual to think such action was prudent." he agreed with a laugh, "If anything I have learned in my studies fo your families histories it would be that you are at you're most dangerous when captured." he teased lightly referring to the now archaic serials of their famed families exploits. "I do wonder what they feel the need to cover here and now that couldn't be included in the literature." he mused quietly as if it did not occur to him that some might not have commited the materials to memory. He focused on the front of the room awaiting what might be revealed.
  10. Offering a sympathetic smile Kam nodded, "Being far from home is never easy, Moreso when missing family." he offered in commiseration. He glanced to Veronica, "But you are not alone and those left behind still have one another yes?" he added trying to brighten the slightly somber mood. At Danicas offer he perked slightly though didn't commit he still had a bag to see delivered and was unsure how many others might get more use out of such a tour. "I should get my mags to my room but I may catch up." he replied as Micah approached. turning to the somewhat skittish and closed off student he offered a small bow of greeting and spoke softly, "Kameron." he introduced though let the others add their own introductions so as to not overwhelm. "Are you a returning student as well?" he enquired diplomatically though from the trepidation the Dakana prince doubted it. But the question would lend a perception of strength to the other boy and perhaps help struggling confidence a subtle if somewhat standard diplomatic technique.

    Assemble!

Kameron made his way down the aisle looking over the crowd as he slowly picked his way along the rows of risers. He'd glance every so often to where his sister made her way to a seat careful not to sit too close while not obviously sitting too close and most likely overthinking the entire situation given the likelihood she'd already revealed herself to at least half her floor by now. After what was undoubtedly a suspiciously long pause he stepped quickly toward the Dangers and tucked his messenger bag against his lap as he sank into a nearby seat. He was pulling a small notebook and pen from his bag as he looked to his right with an easy smile, "Not having your PA attend on your behalf?" he teased lightly with a small laugh.
  12. Even the relatively unflappable Dakanan raised a brow at the mention of a chrysalis as the reason for the absent prior roomate. "Ah that is good to know." he answered with an honest smile, "Happy to have a friendly face when questions come up." he paused thoughtfully, "Any teachers to avoid?" he asked with a conspiratorial grin that was the sort of thing that was not included in the handbook after all. With a glance to Pan he shook his head though playfully explained, "Only once they've consumed enough milkweed to guarantee full toxicity." his laugh made it clear it was not but playful jest. He astutely took in the other student clearly not wanting attention and provided exactly that he wasn't here to force socialization on anyone and then there were neon landing lights. Blinking once at the display he turned to Janus, "So Trolls, that must be a challenge even for a Danger." he complemented. "I'm not sure I'd be much challenge but I'm happy to see what I might learn of your techniques I only dabble really." which was an abject lie of course.
  13. With a shrug Kameron waved off the thanks, "I have been told I over-prepare at times." he admitted with a self deprecating laugh. "A pleasure Elizabeth." he greeted in turn, "and thank you, you are a returning student then?" he added to Selina following Janus' lead with a nod to Danica. Replying more directly to Janus he shook his head, "I've only just arrived though the materials sent ahead indicate it is very well apportioned." he acknowledged with a shrug. "I to look forward to taking full advantage of what the school has to offer for our training and fitness." he grinned a bit as it was rare he had the opportunity to press his skills against those his own age. "You are a fencer then?" he inquired curiously knowing only a limited amount of the Dangers specific background. He sized them up for a moment, "Saber?" he guessed as they certainly had the build for it.
  14. Taking each hand where offered Kam seemed relatively at ease with the variation in customs amongst the students and not easily offended by those different than his own. "Yes, my first year attending here." he agreed readily with Janus though clarified, "I did attend a normal course load at home prior to this." his tone cordial and open. Glancing to Pan he nodded thoughtfully, "It would be second second on the left from the south stairwell." he paused with an easy smile, "I studied the map extensively I did not wish to be lost." he explained away the knowledge with a laugh. At Danica's clear interest he nodded to her description of the creatures, "Sometimes longer, it can be a difficulty for earthenworks at times." he offered conversationally, "There was a dike that several had dug into and weakened, difficult to remove safely to less problematic homes." the hidden prince explained with a small shrug, "I did see some of them in transit and the burrows after the fact." when his father had gone to survey the damage in his usual perhaps overly hands-on manner. "They are fascinating creatures there is great potential in longevity treatments from their study I have heard."
  15. Crossing the lot with ground eating strides Prince Kamau watched the small meet up of students with a clinical eye for a moment before he approached. His sister as expected had rushed off to see to her room decor while he was still committing the map and room assignments to memory. This left him of course free to take his leisure with reaching his own rooms and the opportunity to make introductions before any confusion might arise with those who knew him by another name. Tucking his sunglasses into the pocket of his linen trousers he approached the small knot of students rolling his suitcase behind him and swinging the messenger bag that had been his carry on for the flight to rest against the small of his back. "Ms. Danger." he greeted the bow evenly dispersed between the cousins as he met their eyes, "Kameron Kingdom." he introduced himself using his cover name as if a reminder as he met each of their eyes in turn. "We met briefly at the Danger International Gala, when the student exchange program was announced." he offered as hint that he was not attending under his full titles. Straightening he adjusted the lay of the modern cut dashiki he wore and looked to the other students with a wide and friendly smile, "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance all." Kameron expressed his accent subtle and slightly musical in it's cadence. "Ajasoro and myself have been selected to represent Dakana here at Claremont." he explained as his sister had eschewed the security advisors suggestion of a false name to attend under. It did make introductions less ripe for confusion at least, and the Royal Family was no so well known for it to stand out too much. He fully planned to tell anyone asking those sorts of questions that it was very common in Dakana.
  16. With almost silent loping strides across the soft earth of the hills Kamau crossed the ground at a ground eating pace. As they approached the glow that spoke of them reaching their destination he signalled to the others he'd scout the ridgeline and report back what the anomalous signals might be. Sticking low to the ground and moving quickly and quietly through the low scrub Red Lynx crept toward the crest of the hill trying to find a vantage to get eyes on the operation to relay back to the others. He was well aware his usefulness here was so far contained to local knowledge but he hoped to give the heavy hitters below a better idea what they were dealing with.
  17. So I notice nothing should I just post a thing? Are we in initiative rounds or?

  21. "I find not being gunned down in the streets by mobsters to be quite enjoyable actually." Xavier replied evenly, from Lous comments it was clear it was not simply a deadpan joke, at least not entirely. He sipped at his coffee as the impromptu crew made their requests and rather valid complaints over their situation. "You're running then?" he asked seemingly surprised at the response. "I was under the impression that when one in your circles was double-crossed one got even not scared." he shrugged noncommittally as he sipped his coffee, "Have any of you considered what could be of such value in a library archive that not one but two teams would be dispatched to acquire it?" He began thumbing through a recent copy of the local paper of record as he awaited their inevitable responses, "My curiosity has gotten me in worse situations I'll admit and I'd not drag any of you in something you were not prepared for." he shrugged and left the paper open to the real estate section and an article on the boom in prices in the formerly worthless properties around what was now the growing airport and supporting community. He nodded to Chance, "I appreciate your hospitality, please get my friends what they require and I'll see to it you're compensated when I'm able." He drained the last of his cup and looked to be ready to head up to the apartments overhead.
  22. Prince Kamau smiled but demurred from the offer. He was going to need to be at his best if he was going to keep up in this company. He sat calmly in the transport however. Their preparations were complete with nothing more to focus on he payed rapt attention to yet another rendition of the limited intel they had on the sight. "If luck is with us their sensors will be as hampered as our own." he suggested with a nod. "We should be able to approach undetected if we take care." As the transport settled into it's sheltered landing zone he strapped his helmet on and stepped silently out of the doors alert for any sign their arrival had been marked by the enemy.
  23. Xavier shook his head slightly at the offered drink, "I've had better nights." he admitted with a small shrug. "Events did not go as planned." the private eye offered with a rueful shrug. At Lou's subtle prompt Xavier made the introductions such as they were. "Chance." he gestured to the group as a whole, "These are friends of mine." he paused weighing names for a moment and glancing back to his compatriots, "Alice, Lou, Sophia." he left off any last names but there was a degree of trust that had to be built here. Names were the start of that. "Everyone," he swept a hand to their impromptu host, "Chance, the owner and proprietor of this fine establishment and another friend of mine." he put a certain weight on the last telegraphing this was not entirely a social call. "Pier Six holds the unique position of being neutral ground, the gangs, and families leave it alone and hte Cops don't bother." he nodded to Chance for confirmation and to allow the gentleman to offer further explanation of the clubs position in Bedlam. Introductions managed he stepped to the still warm coffee the staff kept on tap and poured a cup of hte thick black liquid. "We need a place to stay off the radar for a bit." he finally called in a favor owed sipping lightly at his drink.
  24. Xavier had switched cars abandoning the cleaning vehicle and exchanging it for a mid size sedan. Nondescript, even better, unlikely to raise much interest when it was eventually found abandoned in the industrial district renowned for the hidden drug dens and occasional illicit rave. He had remained largely silent for the drive other than a brief assurance that he had a place neither the Scarpia's nor the cops would disturb. At least not for the few days it would take for things to cool enough for them to move more freely in the city. He seemed a little too sure of the timeline given the length of grudges held by families like the Scarpias. Pulling up to the back of Pier 6 eschewing the front entrance for the back door propped where the bar and kitchen staff had stepped out for post close smokes. He paused as he ushered his companions into the kitchen to pat one of the cooks on the shoulder and inquire about a sister, apparently off at college in Green Bay now. Leading them through the back area he emerged behind hte bar with Lou, Alice, and Sophia in tow. "You're doing well for yourself." he remarked to Chance with a vague smile teasing his lips.
  25. Phalanx shot ahead making himself the point of the spear and ensuring he was in place in intercept the brunt of any countering fire letting Gaian Knight and Tiamat focus on unleashing the storm of stone and fire to clear a path. Shouting over the roiling turmoil of the following rock storm he gestured at the streak of another hero entering the fray. "Looks like we have some backup." the paragon called out between swatting aside the stray shots of the forces on the perimeter. Sparing a glance at the base where the routed forces of Lonely Point huddled under what cover they could find, "We need to give them cover to retreat." he bellowed over the sounds of the rapidly nearing battle. Though to do so they'd have to redirect and give the more dangerous foes more time to regroup or split their forces.
