  1. Kanunu decided to deal with that particular issue later, like never if possible what were the chances of them running into each other after this? "Hey no bodda me." he waved off her concerns and focused on the task at hand. "Geet him da boat!" he called encouragingly to Volcanic as she emerged with her sputtering charge. Turning to the ship itself he carefully enveloped the hull in a protective lining of hardened water and rode the waves in close, "kay den you feel da swell and use it don fight it yea?" he suggested to Jane and motioned to the shore, "Les get this ting movin." It was tough splitting his attention betwixt the young Hydrokinetics works and his own efforts to secure the ship but they seemed to make good time and a good thing too it looked like their newly empowered companion was flagging, "You all good dere?" Kanunu called as the boat slowed in fighting the current, "You need a breatha?"
  2. Xavier watch with feigned nonchalance as she took the money with no useful information to return expressing only the mild dissatisfaction with the lack of leads on his mein. She's nervous. Too nervous to be covering for low grade hoods. He took a slow sip of his drink and shrugged, "Well I'll finish my drink and look elsewhere then." he intoned quietly and took a few more sips as he tracked the layout and positioning of the booths just in case. The tension at the young addicts sudden and noisy entry was hard to cover but the destitute boy was distraction enough it was unlikely Xaviers reactions had been noted. Street kid, addict, desperate, won't be missed and latino not one of Rocks people, expendable. Whatever the job was it was unlikely Xavier would learn about it here and even less likely the poor kid would survive it. Standing slowly he turned and walked purposefully out of the Bar and around the corner casually pausing to retie his shoe just out of sight to ensure he wasn't being tailed. Standing he took a more leisurely stroll through the neighborhood pausing here and there to ask the locals if they had seen Susan to at the least keep up the facade of bored PI tailing a runaway. But at the same time Xavier built a careful map of the surrounding streets in his mind committing fire escapes, alleys and bus schedules to memory as he passed. He slowly looped back around prepared to intercept the desperate young man and get him a ticket to California, maybe Long Beach, and hopefully information about what Rock had him doing, even if it wasn't related to Susan it couldn't hurt to know a bit more of the ganglords business if he was going to find out what had happened to the girl.

  5. Ouroboros gave a single silent nod of comprehension at the suggested plan. Stepping back as he embraced his vampiric birthrights the teens form faded into a hazy fog pooling where he once stood. The thin mist swirled and rose slowly to roil along the ceiling as the dhampir awaited the dimming of the lights that would signal the time to move. As soon as the lights went out his misty form poured into the room clinging to the high ceiling as he took in the scene below before pooling in the far corner cutting off the likely routes of escape.
  6. APPROVED!
  7. Standing carefully behind the more experienced investigator Ouroboros let his eyes travel the halls looking for any further sign of what the intruder might be after. Trophies of past student victories in the hands of skilled thieves such as these was not likely to end well. Of course it wasn't that this was all some student hijinks was too much to hope. "Well at least they're making it interesting." he hushed before nodding silently for the elder student to lead the way. Following close behind on silent feet sticking to the shadows were able Ouroboros ghosted down the hall eyes glinting with predatory light and a vague smile forming on the corner of his lips. If one didn't know better it could be surmised he was enjoying this.
  8. Xavier tracked the layout of the dingy dive bar mapping exits and exit strategies as he sipped his beer and kept a wary eye on the patrons. Ignoring them would be both dangerous and suspicious. Setting his cup gently on his table as the woman asked after his business in the bar, "Just a little something to get me through the day." he nodded to his cup. He paused a moment and added, "Tracking a runaway." he added with a casual shrug, "case pays expenses." he smirked and raised the glass and met the woman's gaze, "I find people's memory is better for cases that pay expenses." Pulling a neatly folded bill and a copy of Susans prom picture from a pocket he slid it across the table and raised his glass to take another slow sip as he watched the staff for reaction. These people were in Rocks pocket without a doubt. Question was how far and whether or not Rock and his gang were involved with Susans disappearance. Hopefully not far enough things got rough.
  9. Huang stared down at the senior examining the not so secret anymore entrance and then longingly to the gate now too far away with a slight sigh as he pulled his phone out ot text Set as to his delay. Crouching next to Nevermore he murmured in whispered latin to sharpen his perceptions of the mystic realms and examined the door and its electronics. When it came to a normal B&E Nevermore would have it covered he was confident. But there were things under the school that were far from mundane. "So what do we have then? Student prank dare we hope?" he inquired with care to keep his voice low falling easily into the growly cadence his father used to use when they played hide and seek. "Not seeing anything supernatural for what that's worth." he added with a shrug and smiled wide, "Shall we give chase? Games afoot and all that?"

I believe Knockback should be -3/-2 (1/2 of +6 and +4 toughness with and without defensive roll)
  12. for a 37PP Array the rank should be 18.5 (because arrays are irritating that way) points are correct there. Other question I have is about the super sense. Do you intend this to be tuned to Terminus energies type entropy or any entropy? Also as written the Sense is mental and ranged but not radius. So you can mentally 'Look' in a direction to sense entropy but not sense it behind or to the sides. If you want a more standard spidey sense tingle from all directions you might be better off swapping extended for radius.
  13. Huang ambled along the path past the garden to a much better rendevous than some high school dance. Well better if one assumes one can evade a lioness goddess of war and justice, which being a teen boy Huang assumed he could. Pausing as he caught sight of Nevermore in full costume and uncharacteristically in the open. Opportunities to tweak the nose of the presumed heir to the raven mantel was not something to be given up lightly and there was of course the quiet rivalry of his mentor and Huangs father to take in account. Ghosting up on silent feet behind the costumed adventurer Huang cleared his throat, "What's that Scooby? A clue?" he teased lightly in a whisper still a good few feet back. Surprise was good joke and all but only a fool spooked a combatant of Nevermores quality from striking range.
  14. Ellis pulled his attention back to the conversation at hand with some effort knowing full well his desire that Ray find another time to pester him would only encourage the infuriating angel. He smiled weakly at the strong religious overtones having long struggled with the traditional faiths. Then again that was largely before he inherited the mantle of supernatural guardian of dream. That tended to put a damper on ones skepticism. He listened carefully to the mans words and grinned despite himself at the odd nascent relationship he and Stesha shared put in words barely suppressing asking if she called it a thing. He nodded sagely at the mans concerns and agreed, "The bits I know sound rough to say the least." he offered carefully, "Obviously I have no intention of causing such distress myself but I hardly think that matters in the end." Just being capable was threat enough he'd wager. He let out a beleaguered sigh however as Ray of course joined them, "Carson, this is Ray." He introduced politely, "Ray, Carson, a friend of Steshas." he filled in hoping that tidbit at least would stop the angel from being too embarrassing though he felt that hope was like as not in vain. "Ray's an artist." he filled in helpfully and trying to glass over the details of their meeting both for sake of secret identities and reflex of doctor patient confidentiality.
  15. Ace glanced down as the coms sparked to life and called in that Argonaut and Adept were following up and himself and Cannonade were en route to rendezvous. He nodded to the passenger seat, "Hop in and buckle up it might get a little rocky up there." he indicated with a nod to the turbulent skies. Stowing the vortex cannon once more in the trunk Ace slid into the driver seat and punching in a code on the center console smiled as the vehicle roared to life. Flicking the coms live he tried to reach the other team, "Tornadoes taken care of, ready for rendezvous." He transmitted as he lifted off and sought a heading, "Any sign of Levant?" Once Cannonade was seated the low slung sports car leapt forward as Ace navigate the waterlogged streets of DC.
  16. "Well I appreciate the tip Captain." Xavier replied calmly, "Maybe I'll have to see if pops is good for travel expenses get out of town for a bit." he replied playing to the cops usual expectations of a sleazy PI. Why the cops wouldn't bother looking for the Haywood girl was simple. A captain actively discouraging investigation on the other hand. There was teeth to this case and the kind that would take more caution on continued investigation. Someone with pull had a vested interest in this case going unsolved. As he hung up the phone he considered calling and telling the father exactly that. It'd be the safe bet, tell him his daughter got tangled in something above their paygrade. But Ross wasn't going to be dissuaded by that and didn't have the tools to do this without getting killed. No this was on Xavier, danger or no. The ring of the phone interrupted his thoughts and as he raised it to his ear and listened to the cryptic message he frowned. If Ross had this kind of access he'd not need Xavier. That meant a fourth party interested in this case. Steepling his fingers he looked down to the clear space in front of him and went through the mental exercise to play the message back in his head, see what more he could make out as he focused. Standing he shook his head, this wasn't going to be an easy one. But nothing worth doing was. He made his way down to the street and took a cab to the bar in question sizing it up briefly before stepping in and ordering a beer to nurse as he observed the patrons and staff.
  17. So what you're going to want to do is craft the background with an eye to the arc of his story being towards heroism. Basically He can have a past as a thief and all but something has pushed him to take up a role of a hero now instead. Now he can still use his thief skills, (This is basically what batman does if you think about it) but his goals would need to line up with at the least picking up where the law fails. So he might break in to Archduke Von Apokalypse's secret lair to steal back the worlds nuke codes or what not but not break into a branch of even a corrupt bank to give the money therein to people they foreclosed on, instead he'd break in to find proof those foreclosures were done with false documents. The Heel Face Turn is a perfectly fine background just make sure you build in a motivation for him to focus on improving the world or at least a part of it he cares about.
  18. Ellis didn't let his attention stray long but the characteristic artifice of heroes maintaining secret identities did not yet come easily to him. With the suggestion of Steshas 'main home' it donned on Ellis that the other man may be from sanctuary or another hero as well and he hid the donning comprehension perhaps poorly. With a weak smile he sipped his drink, "That must be quite the commute." he suggested cagily but couldn't help but smile at the commentary on Steshas friendly nature, "Indeed I've always been, a, less outgoing by nature." he admitted stiltedly, "She's an impressive woman to be certain." he added with slight a frown as he internally screamed at himself for the decidedly unromantic term. His eyes drifted to Ray as he shook his head and poorly covered his discomfort with another drink. "Couldn't say." he replied which due to doctor patient confidentiality was technically true. Though he was not so skilled a liar it was likely anyone couldn't piece together he knew rough around the edges tattooist in some capacity.
  19. Alright Ms. Grue and Ghost Girl both recognize the trajectory of that otehr mole machine to be hte neighborhood of the Hero Museum and its assorted Super Artifacts of past battles. Initiative round 1 Blue Fox 22 5HP Uninjured Ms. Grue 19 1HP Uninjured Automatons 18 30 Minions Infiltrators 17 Off Screen Volcanic 16 1HP Uninjured Engineers 11 10 Minions and their Project Ghost Girl 8 3HP Uninjured Blue Fox is up first.
  20. Xavier was not surprised information was thin on the ground, nor that the Foster home was less than interested in speaking to him. If he really needed information he'd do as he had before and pose an overworked social worker covering a case that was slipping through the cracks but so far he had other leads to follow up on first. Her friends told hte expected story, no reason to think otherwise it seemed her relationship with her father was as positive as could be expected considering. Rather than further retread territory the police had doubtless covered he focused his energy on their investigation. He'd expected stonewalling of course such was the nature of the Bedlam Police. The escalation to a Captains attention however did not encourage him, petty bureaucrats and desk jockeys citing byzantine ordinances and policy to block access was one thing. A Police Captain directing him to back off another thing entirely. "Captain." he greeted warmly as he was jumped up the chain of command, "Nothing of the sort, just helping a father find a runaway." he demured though he had doubts anything so simple was behind this case if he'd garnered the personal attention of a Captain of Runyons acumen.
  21. "Ah I wasn't sure if you had worked together." Ellis replied with a mild shrug, "Stesha has quite the varied group of friends just familiarizing myself with all this has been quite something." he admitted with a friendly laugh. "Well there is no greater legacy than teaching the next generation I salute you sir." the doctor answered in kind to Carsons explanation then glanced down darkly for a fraction of a second before shaking off whatever somber thought had seized him. "The arts are too often unappreciated in academics I'm glad you're able to bring that to the students." Eliss complimented as he toyed with the edge of his napkin. Looking back to the taller man Ellis paused for a moment considering his words when his eyes focused a a figure over Carsons shoulder for a moment and he let out an involuntary wince. It was likely happenstance and perhaps the erstwhile angel that had walked in was not there seeking him out after all. Not that he need worry he didn't need or want to impress Carson, did he. Guarded expression was not however yet a skill Ellis had mastered so most of this likely played out on his features as the tattooed man stepped through the doors.
  22. Landing just beyond the dark angel after his strike Phalanx turned just in time to see the light of the speedsters ritual unleash its fury on the creature, and the barely fazed entities brutal rejoinder. They couldn't last long against that kind of power, even with the Angel on their own side countering where he could. They had to end this and end it before the creature wore them down enough to escape or finish what it had started with Roman. Bounding to cut off any attempts to escape Phalanx surged forward with a reckless swing hoping to at least keep the creature focused on him as the blow swung wide, "You won't stop us." the tall paragon intoned firmly, "You don't scare us."
  23. APPROVED!
  24. Phalanx Move Action: move to a position to keep myself between the Angel of Death and the city/bystanders if any are still evacuating and so any knockback will send it back toward the empty hospital. Standard action: All-out/Power attack +2 1d20+12=23 Defense is 8 for the round. DC 35 Toughness if that hits.
  25. Not sure how much you want to write out the investigative steps and how much you want rolls. But I got a 20 on a gather information(without modifiers for whatever Ross was able to share) which at the least should tip off anyone paying attention that Xavier is looking into the case. Lemme know if I find anything useful or you want any other checks.
