GM Answering Aces false call to arms the guardsmen charged into the fray against the invading rebels with a clash of enchanted steel on steel as the opposing forces clashed in a running battle through the room and up and down the walls vampiric speed and might meeting in move and countermove. The guards closer to the greater threat however were not so eager to leave the deadly swordsman who felled their comrades unguarded and moved to attack with a volley of bolts form wrist mounted crossbows penned the agile hero in as their cohorts closed to test their sorcerous blades against the master swordsman. Even with his mobility compromised by the covering fire only one blade scored true weaving through his defenses to strike home. The Masked Avenger of this realm faced off against Ace wary and mistrusting but intrigued, allies to his cause were rare enough that such potential could not be ignored after all, "And what interest would I have in her blasphemous artifacts and profane tools of blood magics." he growled darkly. "If you wanted my attention you have gained it." the Vampire prince acknowledged reluctantly, "Pray your offer is worth my time."

Ace Danger Ace side-eyed Erik for a brief moment at the revelation of his part in Talyas condition and clearly weighed the worth of opening that can of worms now or later and reluctantly had to acknowledge the arrival of the natives of the realm in force took precedence, if only just. "I'm sure we can buy you -" the timeless adventure replied in part before Erik so generously suggested the old man take a breather. Eyes narrowing he shook his head muttering 'Rusty indeed' under his breath as he followed the dashing dualist into the fray or at least fray adjacent. Throwing his voice with vaudevillian flair he called out, "Avengers! In the Keep! they're trying to free the Consort!" followed by further rabble rousing calls to arms against the threat pulling those guards nearest the invaders attention away from the heroes for the moment at least. Tipping his hat to Jack of All Blades he wryly shrugged, "I'll try not to throw out my back." With a piercing whistle he waved down the attention of the brooding giant directing the masked avengers, "Imposter?" he scoffed with false offense, "Hardly," Ace intoned haughtily and glanced back into the vault, "I got us access to the vault didn't I?" he pitched as if an ally, "Took you long enough to show up but your timing is as always impeccable." the words seemed to set the masked vampire back on his heels as he tried to place what myriad plot this might tie too. One thing about vampiric politics anywhere Ace had been was they were needlessly byzantine, a trait that might just buy them some time before the master vampire entered the fray.

GM Post As Ace had predicted it hadn't taken long for the enthralled blood dolls to alert the guards to the stranger's arrival. On the heels of Dimitris words the doors into the spacious apartments were flung open by liveried guardsmen whose pallorous flesh spoke of a ready supply of the blood the frosty vampire required required should one find a way to extract it. "Seal the Gates!" went up the cry as they took in the scene of the 'prisoner' being freed by his allies and the open vault being raided by the interlopers. One, apparently a leader judging from the size of his hat, shouted into the hall, "To the Queen, her prize makes its escape!" His call was nearly drowned out by shattering glass as the masked infiltrators earlier spied by the heroes made their own entrance crashing through the windows followed by a tall oddly familiar shadowy form that seemed to direct them. Pointing directly at Ace he growled darkly, "Imposter. You and your mistress will not so easily escape our wrath."

Ace Taking in the newly revealed Talya, Ace performed an almost comedic double take at her expanded form. Not much surprised Ace Danger these days and Talya could rest comfortable that she'd managed to. "You love me!" Ace shouted with a grin as his eyes slid to Dimitri and then to the floor with some uncertainty, "I assure you Dimitri I am not responsible for that." he intoned somberly weight shifting to the balls of his feet as if at any moment he expected to be encased in a block of ice and dropped in the baltic, it seemed dimitris protective older brother routine was not so new dynamic in the thief and vampires relationship. Though without immediate violence being offered he mercurially shifted once more to his normally flamboyant self. "No no nothing so interesting as evacuees old friend." Ace assured Comrade Frost with a curt nod, "I came here quite by accident, overcharged void resonator and all that." he explained away his impromptu trip with a shrug. The immortal adventurer regarded Eric curiously but didn't waste further time trying to puzzle out why the scintillating swordsman had joined this venture. "Oh you flatterer." he casually flirted as he followed into the vault and began pulling down assorted artifacts and devices from prime, "Just need to gather my effects." Ace explained as he dug through the vaults contents, "The dark mistress of these lands is most interested in expanding her empire." he offered, "Best not leave anything to ease her passage further than her singular nature already does." Ace cagily indicated shrugging into his weathered bomber jacket. As he affixed the trademarked hat atop his head he looked toward the large doors separating this room from the rest of the castle and smiled, "Well if you still want to make with the stabbing, and I know you do, opportunities will soon be ample." offered with a weak grin as he indicated the likely arrival of guards at any moment.

Kimo stared blankly at the hero time forgot for a long moment before it fully registered what she'd been talking about and he let out a small laugh. Shaking his head he smiled down at her, "Flotation devices eh?" he joked in kind and glanced at teh beachgoer heading their way, "Probably lookin for another autograph." he indicated to the hero at his side and was about to add a further clever rejoinder when things started to go very poorly very quickly. As the telltale whistle of artillery bore down Kimo didn't have time to think only to act, a pretty consistent problem for the young man since his powers first manifested. Planting his feet in the sand as the shells bore down on their position he rolled his shoulders and made a wade sweeping motion over head with both arms the waters of the nearby shore rising to meet his command as a protective wall of seawater flowed into a wide dome protecting as much of hte beach as he could reach under it's protective umbrella. Holding the pose with some concentration to stave off the power of hte blasts he realized a moment too late that he just out of costume made pretty much the most ostentatious display of power he was capable of.

Kimo's frown lasted a few ticks longer then he shook his head and broke into a broad grin as ushered her up the beach, "Ho ho!" he exclaimed in amusement, "My gran always say you not wash out tah sea!" he jovially extolled and swept her up in a sudden, just shy of crushing, hug, "So what happen?" he asks enthusiastically as he returns her to her feet, "Granny Laka say you get take by de spirits, too good a swimmer fo no storm take." he shook his head still amused and murmured to himself, "Me aunties always say she jus couldn't 'cept it but ho now she must be lettin em have what for wit it." he thought alound then paused and eyed her carefully, "Ho now, they no tell me bout you come back or be outta here now?" he clarified and squinted, "You haen't tol em yet." he finally said with a shake of his head. He pulled her up toward a burger shack on the boardwalk, " 'salright I'll get you all dere numbas an I sure da league can help you get home ta visit." Kimo explained with and easy going smile at the revelations, falling into the familiar patterns of family with her as quickly as that.

Peeling open the doors Phalanx stepped into the shaft and dropped to the top of the Elevator car. He flung open the hatch on top and peered in with a confident nod to the trapped occupants, "I'm going to get you all out of here, get on the floor and hold on." he warned before rising to take the thick steel cables in hand. The elevator creaked ominously as he raised it a scant few inches as he gathered the cables and took the weight of the car and occupants himself. Squinting his eyes a thin needle of energy lanced forward slicing clean through the steel freeing car from the rest of the apparatus in one precise sweep. Flying up the shaft with growing speed he burst forth from the roof with elevator in tow and sped toward the line of rescue vehicles and first responders that gathered on the perimeter. "These fine people will take good care of you all." he assured his charges as he lowered them gently to the ground and turned to speed off back to the growing miasma and launched himself into the hospital doors on the heels of his cohorts.

Kimo let out a low rolling laugh and shook his head, "Don't worry 'bout it." he replied with a nod. He was a little bewildered by the heroines response but then again he'd met his long lost auntie on the beach a few weeks back so who was he to judge. "Hey we all want the same thing, you not putting anyone out of a job." he rolled broad shoulders and smiled down at her, "We all want same thing so no harm right?" he suggested in a slow good natured way. "Might have I think it was only part of the poster, ol wartime stuff like that popular on the islands most times." he explained with a small homesick sigh, "Anyway you all good bruh." he reaffirmed and hesitated as he moved to continue his walking patrol as vague invitationt o walk with him if she wished but he could really only sit so long in one spot.

He'd been here almost a full year but it still almost startled Kimo how many words mainlanders managed to cram into so little space. He blinked a few times at the density of information and nodded slowly, "Kay den." he replied in a slow lilting tone, "Kimo, good to meet ya." he introduced eyes wandering automatically to the shoreline to continue scanning as he talked to her, "No bother." he assured her with a smil smile as his gaze fell across her again and he tried to place where he'd seen the patriotically dressed hero before, "I think I saw a poster of you in a bar back home." he finally nodded with a small smile, "Good to have some backup then, specially if things get wild later." he said with a laugh as the staid northbay WASP crowd seemed particularly sedate to one accustomed to the summer throngs of Waikiki.

The swell they caught and rode in as they swam was perhaps not overtly supernatural but it didn't take much experience with the ocean to see it was certainly not a natural wave either and it dissipated far enough offshore to avoid too much notice on the beach as they came in. Standing as the water grew shallow Kimo smiled down at her with a knowing nod. "Kay den." he replied and sloshed through the surf as she introduced herself easily answering in kind, "Kimo." With a wide friendly smile as he turned to face her, "Dat's funny I have an Autie name lei-" his turn let her see the wash of disbelief cross his face as the surname caught his ear a moment behind his own reply "Not!" Kimo exclaimed and shook his head then leaned in to peer closely at her, "Chu say Leilani keli'i?" he wondered aloud, "My guys all Keli'i outta Hilo." he explained, "My gran has a sistah, or had a sistah, she gone though..." he stared at her with a suspicious look and volcanic avatar or no they were gonna have issues should she be trying to pull one over on him, "Her name Leilani." he finished crossing his arms over his chest and staring her down as one of hte other guards came down the beach in case there was trouble. Kimo didn't even turn his head, "Bruddah cover me." he said and the fellow lifeguard smirked, "Got ya Bro." he replied clearly thinking Kimo and leilani were going to be having a much better time than was likely to be the case.

Mike crossed his arms across his broad chest and nodded thoughtfully to the rapid sequence of questions smiling slightly at the aliens adjustment to earths native conversational styles. "I wouldn't say they are seen as signs of weakness actually." he corrected politely, "On the surface in the most bombastic rhetoric certainly there is a disdain and desire to paint the 'other' as irredeemable." he acknowledged fairly with a small shrug, "But on the interpersonal level co-operation and compromise are highly valued." he pointed out with an easy smile. "We gather readily into organizations to build community and common goals from grand national platforms to small niche interests and community organizing." Mike explains with a casual interest. He looked to the others for agreement or dissent before continuing "For our children teamwork and co-operative learning not only comes naturally but is highly encouraged." he adds and pauses to consider the counterexamples that clearly exist in more nationalist rhetoric or in the cases of rogue states such as New Freedom or Socotra. "Individual freedoms and self direction are highly valued among humanity, but working toward the common good, as interpreted by a given group, is the end goal of even dissenting voices." Mike carefully lays out, "Agreement on that common good is all that is lacking and exposure to a wider interstellar community is likely in time to galvanize those goals more concretely." he opines and falls silent realizing he'd been edging toward preachy, "At least that is my expectation."

Kimo had been alone on the bus since it had left the northern stretches of Hanover. North Bay was not exactly the destination for the bus bound in general, after the two hour commute he was strongly considering just swimming across the bay from the boardwalk next time. If there was a next time he'd have to hustle or be late. Signing in at the main lifeguard station and meeting up with his friend who had got him the shift on the decidedly upscale beachfront he certainly was glad he'd made the trip. The scenery was some of the best he'd seen since coming to freedom city and the shoreline wasn't bad either. After changing into his lifeguard uniform he tucked his other clothes into his backpack and slung it over a shoulder as he made his way down the beach toward his assigned tower. Once he arrived he relieved the guard on duty and took up scanning the shore and seas for anything out of the ordinary but given the venue he wasn't expecting an eventful shift and that was just fine with him. Humming under his breath an old song his grandmother had taught him he grabbed up his float and took to the sands to do a walk through while the sun was still high.

ACE Ace's brow raised up a tick at the two mens entry. It certainly was not what he had been expecting but surprises were the spice of life were they not, and things were definitely getting spicy if he read Eriks commentary correctly. With a sweeping gesture to the scantily clad blood dolls he answered in turn, "These are a, gift, of the Queen of this domain." he turned up a nose at one comely young woman, "And also poison to our kind." he said with the appearance of real distaste and a pointed glance at Frost just in case the Frosty Vampire got any bad ideas. "I worry though travellers, My Bride." he indicates meaningfully, "is not as appreciative of visitors as I." he looks toward the balcony from which they came, "She has concerns I might get cold feet and run off with the old gang." he explains with a nod and surveys the room frowning slightly, "Well we can hope any other unexplained visitors will take priority." he suggests with a shrug as he notes some of the blood dolls have decided to gather the wherewithal to run off to the guards. "You may get your wish soon than expected." Ace suggested to Erik and glanced at the men in turn, "I don't suppose you happen to have an expert thief with the second greatest legs of her generation with you?" he inquired with care, "I really ought fetch my effects if we're to use this chaos to effect our escape." he pointed to the heavy vault door on the far side of the room.

Ace lowered his glasses as he took note of Adept joining Argonaut on the roof top. "This bears investigation." he murmured to himself and louder over the coms alerted them, "I'll join you, evidence points to her having left already knowing her target might get us closer to finding her." Clicking his heals together as he rose he took a few bounding steps across the street then engaged the pneumatic springs in the soles of his shoes to launch in a graceful arc up to the rooftop. As he landed he reengaged the stops and with a hiss and click the spring loaded jump enhancers retracted and he strode purposefully to join them pondering the map. After a moment examining hte lines he frowned, "Flight numbers, he looked up and the storm and shook his head, "But with this going on they'd have to ground almost any flight." he murmured and looked to each of the others, "She tracked the flights from here most likely." he proposed, "good sight lines and if her powers manifested in time she may have had more insight granted by them." he pointed at AEGIS, "The obvious target, but perhaps not the only one." he snapped a picture of the map with his phone and held it out to Adept, "See if you can get the logistics boys on that, Not sure I have access, officially, to Aegis computer systems." he requested, "Maybe they can see what flights are not diverted and why, that'll give us a better range of targets."

Phalanx locked onto the elevator in question vision piercing the walls to reveal the frightened occupants stuck between floors, "The pleasure is mine." he humbly rejoined as he examined the structure for the best point of entry. "I'll get the civilians clear." he suggested and floated once more into the sky with a small nod toward Renegade, "Perhaps you could guard him against our foes retribution?" He wasn't clear on precisely how Nicks necromantic powers might function but it seemed if he could disrupt these workings stopping an attack ought be within his purview as well. "Perhaps he realizes the price of his vengeance." he opined with a small shrug, "Or perhaps he is simply mad." there was no telling which as far as Phalanx was concerned, "regardless he must be stopped and that falls now to us." he intoned firmly and arced up toward the roof and the best access to the elevator shaft without risking the entire building collapsing.
