  1. Alright since Shaens had a pile of RL fall on his head I'm gonna have Kingsnake take an alternate entry. When Shaens back up to posting Kingsnake can pop out of the ceiling or some other such ninjaing about.
  2. MESMERIZED by GIZMO Ouroboros Add one Alternate power to the vampiric Array for 1 PP Alternate Power: Emotion Control 10(Vampiric Mesmerism; Flaws: Sense Dependant{Visual - eye contact}) [10pp]
  3. Ok since most are minions they are effectively just hit with bruise/injury level damage and are healed automatically AEON Assistant Recovery Check: 1d20+11=24; Fully healed! Lead Shooter recover Check: 1d20+12=29; Fully Healed! So yea that makes the EMT's jobs easier and their paperwork harder.
  4. As alkahest shrinks down to her human proportions the crowd is slowly brought under control by the freshly arrived FCPD response teams. As the last danger on the field is neutralized the devastation of the battle becomes clear, injured and trampled protesters, security officers, and Police are scattered amongst the twisted wreckage of the cement truck and scattered barricades. Cracked pavement and sidewalk jut from the ground at treacherous angles and broken glass litters the front lobby of the AEON building where panic and shrapnel shattered tempered panes. EMTs run amid the wreckage triaging the worst of the injured the shooters lie nearby though there weapons are not easily located. Providences victim lies in the center of it all eyes staring blank and glassy at the sky his neck bent at an unnatural angle.
  5. That brings us fully out of rounds and here's the situation on the ground as it stands: Injuries; One Dead Shooter, neck snapped by massive force applied while unconscious. Three unconscious shooters Two with obvious hatchet related injuries one with blunt force trauma from a concussive bolt that is less traceable. One AEON employee in critical condition due to gunshot wounds Four unconscious bystanders, collateral damage of Fury and Alkahests brawling. Two conscious but immobile (breaks and sprains) bystanders, collateral damage of Fury and Alkahests brawling. Five conscious but battered bystanders, victims of crowd trampling. Three downed and battered AEON security officers overwhelmed by the angry panicked crowd Two injured FCPD officers, casualties of the mob. Damage; Many broken and bent temporary barricades, Some light damage to the concrete barriers Woodsman is hiding in. Significant damage to sidewalks and streets. One destroyed cement mixer its parts and contents all over the street. Light damage to the doors and windows of the AEON Lobby from shrapnel and crowd actions. Blood on the Lobby carpet from the GSW victim. Police and EMTs are on scene the Police have a perimeter that would not be easily evaded EMTs are beginning triage of injured Police are beginning sweeps looking for agitators perpetrators or armed protesters. The Guns used in the attack are nowhere to be seen it seems like someone picked them up in the chaos after the shooters were dropped.
  6. Heh I think what he means is most of us neglect our exotic saves to scrape points those are pretty solid PL 10 saves Giz'll be happy!
  7. If you're going to keep sneak attack you'll need to drop your Attack bonus so it's within caps for your PL. The only things that automatically correct to caps are create object and move object as they are not primarily for damage and even then its more that you're forced to pull your punch to within caps. However sneak attack can still be worthwhile if you pick up some good ways to deny opponents their dodge bonus like feint feats or stealth/concealment. Alternatively you could pick up power attack and use it when catching people unaware with a descriptor more along the lines of precision strikes than wild haymakers (the loss of attack bonus representing what is in effect a called shot rather than a reckless attack. It gives you a way to defeat higher toughness saves and allows oyu to do the "more deadly when hidden" kind of thing
  8. Diamonds and Rust (Ace Danger Vignette - February 2016) February 13th 1979 Midnight Mehrshahr suburb of Karaj, Iran The radar absorbent materials had performed as promised Donna would be pleased to hear that certainly Ace made a note to let her know when this was over. After a final check of his harness the indomitable spy, diplomat, and man of action lept from the plane as it banked over the foothills of the Alborz range. The pilot would return to Turkey Ace had another exit plan in place after the package was delivered. As the wind ripped across the flight suit he wore Ace carefully zeroed in on the dark patch of orchard that was his drop zone. Tucking his limbs in tight to reduce drag he shot down toward the surface as the alarms on the jump-suit’s altimeter blinked warning, 2000’, 1500’, 1000’. Ace tugged his chute loose just as it crossed the 700’ mark, the canopy unfolding above him in seconds and pulling hard at the harness as it rapidly cut his speed. There wasn’t much time for maneuver as he set down along an empty dirt track through one of the outlying orchards but this wasn’t the first time he’d dropped in under radar, nor would it be the last. Reeling the chute in at the touch of a button Ace rolled to the side into the high grass bordering the track. The turmoil of recent months hadn’t perhaps completely shut down the operations here but it wasn’t far off. Slipping out of the flight suit and stashing it and the chute in a drainage pipe for later retrieval Ace checked to ensure the package was secure and began the trek towards the village outskirts. It had been over twenty five years since Ace was last in Karaj, it had hardly changed, or rather it had changed a great deal and yet remained much the same. Sticking to the orchards dotting the landscape up to the outskirts Ace evaded the few patrols of police or revolutionary guard with ease, this wasn’t exactly a high value target for counter-revolutionary forces after all, not that many were left now to guard against. Ace crossed from the orchards to vault the low wall around his target and crept through the darkened rows on silent feet before he came up on his goal. The flowing persian script identified the grave as that of Rahim Gilani Loyal Son, Husband, and Father. Pulling the package from the worn leather satchel where he’d kept it Ace looked down at the grave solemnly and stood silent vigil for several minutes as he wrestled with his emotions. Leaning down he spread the red roses over the grave and flicked a sprinkling of rosewater atop them, “I miss you my friend.” he said simply reaching out to lay a hand on the headstone. Behind him a voice spoke up, “Red for remembrance.” the soft feminine tones remarked, “Your lessons are not it seems forgotten.” Ace turned slowly to face the woman who’s mourning garb had nearly hidden her in the shadows of the darkened cemetery. “It is a dangerous time for Americans in Iran Mr. Danger.” she remarked as she stood regal and unbowed by the presence of the famed adventurer. Ace watched her for a moment jaw set tight before he spoke, “It is a dangerous time for the revolutionaries to try my patience Firuzeh.” Ace replied with a hard look at the grave of his friend as he straightened and shook his head, “But worry not, my anger will not put you or your children in danger here.” he let out a slow breath, “It is not what Rahim would have wished.” The Persian woman nodded a polite acquiescence to his statement acknowledging her concern and his absolvement of it in a simple gesture. “I hated you for many years Mr. Danger.” she said finally, “There was always something held back and I could feel it keenly, he was a good man a good husband, a good father, but he was never truly mine.” she intoned without bitterness, “He said you would come, I am glad his faith was this time not in vain.” “You are not the first nor will you be the last Firuzeh.” Ace replied simply and met her gaze once more, “Despite that though, he chose you in the end.” the ageless Danger countered simply and took a step back towards the shadows and was gone.
  9. Almost on cue Rachel returned with the Phurpa the intricate brasswork of triple bladed ceremonial dagger mounted to a hilt of carved ivory and an intricate pommel depicting hte elephant headed Ganesha. "Not at all." she replied to Eriks query, "Grandfather has always been more circumspect about the circumstances of his longevity than my Uncle." she explained easily as she offered the artifact and a small dossier about its use to Dimitri, "Obviously we are not discussing his health publically at this time." she reiterated firmly and let out a small sad sigh, "He received treatments up until grandmothers death." she explained leaving the open secret of Dakanan longevity treatments unspoken. "Now his time runs out. He wishes to see Ace before the end." she offered eyes glinting with moisture at the family tragedy for whatever the Danger patriarchs flaws as a father to Ace he was the indomitable pillar of the family for the younger generations entire lives. Composing herself quickly she motioned for them to follow her, "We have a secure room where you can begin your preparations." She explained as she led them to a well apportioned conference room with direct access to the outside, "The outer door has been keyed to your biometrics and you can come and go as you need." she explained and motioned toward the room and its smattering of supplies. "Thank you Ms. Browning." she said her tone heartfelt, "We'll not forget this favor."

  11. Beginning of a Great Adventure (Sandman) February 14th Sanford Residence, Kingston. 4:21 AM Ellis quietly locked the door behind him and crept up the stairs. They’d done good work that night, given the twelve year old patient a new lease on life, literally, with a new pair of lungs. Of course it would be nice if donor organs became available in the middle of the day more often rather than the end of an already long shift. But this was the life of a doctor on the FCMC transplant team. 4:25 AM Making his way quietly up stairs after carefully and silently slipping off his shoes and jacket and delicately setting his briefcase on the counter Ellis made his way up the stairs. Peeking in through the slightly cracked door letting a single slice of light from the hall illuminate his eldest room he smiled loosening and taking off his tie. Her younger brother had pulled the trundle out from under his sister's bed and insisted once more on sharing her room it seemed. A thin tendril of ephemeral sand reached out to brush each of their foreheads smiles creasing their lips as they in tandem let out satisfied sighs at the pleasant dreams sent their way. 4:40 AM Ellis flicked off the light in his ensuite and quietly padded across the floor to his bed. Not needing sleep it turns out did not make its promise any less sweet it seemed as he lowered himself into the warm embrace of memory foam and down duvet. 4:59 AM Ellis’ eyes snapped open as the heavy breathing and sounds of crinkling construction paper pierced his sleeping brain. Stiffening he drove his head back into his pillow as his eyes tried to focus on the face inches from his own, “You’re ‘wake!” His son bellowed happily and shook the homemade valentine at his father excitedly sending a rain of festive glitter and sequins over the recently somnolent parent, “Happy Valentines Day Daddy!” he and his sister squealed in delight. 5:15 AM “Pancakes! Pancakes! Pancakes! Pancakes! Pancakes! Pancakes! Pancakes!” echoed in stereo through the kitchen. 5:25 AM two plate scrape across the counter as the keurig ceases sputtering its hot caffeine injection into Ellis’ mug, one bare the other still festooned with a sticky mass of untouched pancake and syrup, “I want a donut.” 6:30 AM Ellis emerged from the shower and stepped into his bedroom to dress for the day.to be treated to a chorus of giggles, “BUTTS!” exclaimed the youngest before the pair fled the room to peals of laughter. 7:00 AM “Am I See Kay EE Whyyyyy! Em Oh You Es EEEEE.” came the chorus from the den as Ellis sipped his now lukewarm coffee and tried to use the pocket of time afforded by the clubhouse to answer a few pressing emails, why pressing emails were still in his inbox early Sunday morning was a matter he’d never manage to decipher. Closing his laptop he slid it back into his briefcase and stood in the door to the den as Jenny and Gabe cavorted about the room shouting helpful advice, and unhelpful scatalogical commentary ‘OOOH POOOOO-Dles, uncontrolled laughter’ 8:00 AM “You have to wear pants if we’re going out Gabe” 8:15 AM “I know it’s your favorite Jenny but you spilt mustard all over it last night it needs a wash.” 8:20 AM “I mean it mister, pants! Now!” 8:30 AM “All buckled?” he called out looking over his shoulder at the kids to be met with stereo demands for headphones, Tangled, and desparate need to use the restroom all at once. 8:45 AM “All buckled?” Ellis called out, “Staarbucks!” the only reply. 9:30 AM “Welcome to the Hunter Museum of Natural History.” the docent greeted kindly and winked at Ellis, “You’re a good man giving the wife a morning off for Valentines.” 9:45 AM “Dinosaurs!” 10:00 AM “Dinosaurs!” 10:15 AM “Dinosaurs!” 10:30 AM “Dinosaurs!” 10:45 AM “Dinos- Emergency!” 10:50 AM “-aurs!” 11:00 AM “Daddy I’m very hungry.” Gabe intoned woefully pointing at his stomach, “My tummy is so eeeeeeempty.” Jenny paused in her spinning to stare at her brother, “We just had breakfast like five minutes ago.” 11:05 AM “I’m starving!” Jenney decried hanging limply against the ropes making up the line as they awaited their lunch, “Why is it taking for eeeeeeeeveeeeeeer?” 11:10 AM *chewing sounds* 11:50 AM Two plates scrape across the table on clear of all food the other half eaten and drenched in ketchup and chocolate milk, “I want a donut.” 12:30 PM “LET IT GOOOOO LET IT GOOOOO-” 12:45 PM “Why isn’t the car moving, are we out of gas, did the car break, are we lost, should you call Grace? She has GPS on her phone and never gets lost.” “It’s just traffic on the bridge sweetie.” 1:00 PM “How’re my favorite niece and nephew!” Grace exclaimed scooping them up in turn, “Good morning big brother?” she asked with a grin at the somewhat haggard Ellis. “Sorry We’re late Aunty Daddy got lost cus he doesn't have GPS.” Jenny informed her aunt matter of factly. 2:00 PM “You sure you’re gonna be alright with them for the evening?” Grace asked as she slipped her pumps on and headed for the door. Ellis shook his head, “Go, celebrate, Frank got those tickets three months ago.” 3:00 PM “Aieeeeeeee!!!!” *crash* *Clatter* “oops…” 3:01 PM “Who wants to go to the park!” “Yay!” 3:05 PM “Gabriel where are your pants?” 3:20 PM Ellis sits heavily on the bench as the children cavort and leap from step to step on the play structure and charge from one piece of equipment to the next. “Aren’t they just a treasure?” asks the elderly couple at his side, “So good of you to let your wife have the afternoon off for Valentine's day.” the older woman suggested and nudged her husband with her elbow, “Now there's a good man not like that layabout your son is shacking up with.” 3:30 PM “No ma’am I’m really not sure how much time in Grindr is appropriate for a married man.” 3:35 PM “Alright kids time to go!” “Awwwwwwww” 3:40 PM “Alright kids time to go!” “Awwwwwwww” 3:45 PM “Alright kids time to go!” “Awwwwwwww” 4:00 PM “Starbucks!” 4:30 PM “Alright one piece of valentine candy before dinner but only this once.” 4:40 PM “My tummy hurts.” 5:00 PM Ellis looks down at the pan then to the box then back to the pan and shakes his head, “I want a donut…” 5:30 PM “DONUTS!” 6:00 PM “Inside Out!” Jenny and game replied in chorus, “Alright, but then straight to bed.” Ellis allowed. 7:15 PM “Take her to the moon for me. Okay?” “Is Bing Bong ok?” Gabe asked distraught, “He will be.” Ellis assured shooting Jenny a look as she moved to argue, “Because Riley will be ok.” 7:40 PM “OK little monkeys bedtime.” Ellis ordered with an easy smile as the credits rolled, “Wash and brush both of you.” he commanded and marched them down to the bathroom for the bedtime rituals. 8:00 PM “Grace is home!” the children exclaimed as they heard the door open and grace and frank came back in, “We have to say goodnight daddy!” “OK but make it snappy.” Ellis acquiesced and guided them down for hopefully brief greetings and goodnights with their aunt and uncle. 8:30 PM Ellis tucked Gabe down in the trundle once more the youngest Sanford letting out a big yawn as Ellis planted a gentle kiss on his son's forehead, “Goodnight big man.” he intoned and headed for the door pausing as he turned out the light, “Daddy?” Gabe asked tiredly, “Yea champ?” Ellis replied with a little smile, “I miss momma.” Ellis let out a slow breath as the sleepy childs statement hung in the air as he drifted off, “Me to kiddo, me too.”
  12. Woodsman gets an HP for the inhuman monster now threatening normal humans like those cops putting themselves in harms way, the Inhuman Monster also being his friend doubtless making things more complex. Psyche gets an HP for T-baby terrorism on her doorstep threatening to set back years of work in an afternoon. Reagent gets an HP due to innocent police officers being the next likely target of Alkahests rage. Initiative (Round 5) 26 Woodsman 1HP Uninjured 18 Sparkler 3HP Uninjured 9 Psyche 1HP Uninjured 8 Reagent 1HP Uninjured Woodsman is up unless AA wants to let Psyche deal with the Alkahest.
  13. As scrap metal and broken concrete skidded and rolled aside under the Alkahests single minded pursuit of the inhumanly potent Terminus Mutant the scattered crowd and injured or unconscious bystanders, security officers and police all came together in startling if small displays of humanity. Groups moments earlier bitterly divided enough to open fire on one another came now to each others aid in their collective flight from the enraged powerhouses terrifying and destructive battle in their midst. A protester pulling an injured Aeon worker from the path of the tumbling mixing drum, a battered police officer pulling the protester recently attacking him to her feet and together limping away from the epicenter of this madness. Fury's indomitable defenses slowly gave way before the Alkahests onslaught the portal winking closed the moment the T-Baby supremacist flew through it's rippling threshold leaving the battered, tired, but unbowed Alkahest with no clear target. Police and protesters and security alike gathered injured and unconscious bystanders as they scrabbled to some sort of safety before the terrifying apparition turned upon them once more now that it was denied the object of its ire. The first officers of the FCPD backup arrived on scene sirens blaring and lights flashing casting the alchemicals monstrosities twisted shadow on the walls of hte surrounding building in a dance of shifting light as officers drew weapons they knew would be ineffectual at best and put themselves between the rampaging metahuman and the injured and fleeing crowd.
  14. Fury Toughness save: 1d20+15=32 so passed but this is pretty much wrapped so I'm goign to fiat her knocked back through the portal
  15. Rachel let the less than heartfelt condolences slide by alongside the more genuine with a polite, "Thank you." in response. She shook her head at Talyas supposition, "We can't be certain of course but we have confidence that wherever my Uncles adventures have taken him it is not outside our own timestream." she didn't offer details but given the resources of Danger International and the nature of Ace's travels it was not unlikely they had a crew of researchers seeking out historical anomalies in the rather public record of most of the immortals adventures. "Moreover I don't ask you to convince him of anything," she clarified with a small smile, "I know better than most just what a daunting task convincing my dear uncle to sway his course is." she assured them as she pulled a small envelope from one drawer extending it towards Talya, "I ask that you see this delivered to him and that he make his own decision." she said simply, "He deserves to know." the elderly Danger intoned firmly as if this had been a matter of some debate within the family. She looked over the assembled group and tapped one lip, "I had a vortex manipulator sent over from the museum collection." she explained quietly, "However if all of you will be going we shall require other means I think." she mused quietly as the lightweight wearable dimensional translocator was unlikely to serve the trio successfully. That was a recipe for Dimitri's mind ending up in Erik or Talyas body and few things really could be a more horrible thought, perhaps being trapped in Dimitris body. "The Purpura of Ganesha." she finally settled upon after a moment and turned to Dimitri, "Are you familiar?" she inquired with care, "It has been used in the past to break the barriers between worlds and should suffice for you all to travel to a chosen destination." she suggested and called in her assistent to have the priceless artifact delivered from the families collection. It would require of course a skilled practitioner to utilize but ought suffice should Dmitri be equal the task.
  16. Glancing back at the last of her cohorts fleeing through the portal Fury let out a maniacal laugh and swung from the hips, the cement mixer in her grasp groaning with the strain as she set it in motion once more. "Should have listened to Providence, Now I get to have some fun!" she bellowed at Psyche mistaking the metalist's concentration and focus for fear or inaction. With a screech of rending metal she swung the immense piece of construction equipment in a deadly arc releasing it to sail and tumble through the air towards the Alkahest and the crowd still fleeing behind the creature. The clumsy throw was easily evaded by the transmogrified teen, though it was as likely as not that was half the villains intention as it continued to tumble and bounce along the pavement toward the crowds clustered at the lobby entrance.
  17. bluh never do things the easy way eh? So catching thrown weapons is actually outside the purview of move object technically. It does make sense thematically however so let's call it a power stunt for deflect with the reflect and area extras. Deflect 12 (Slow projectiles; Extras: Area, Reflection; Power Feats: Precise) (Telekinetic catch) 37/44pp Gonna give Alkahest an HP for Fury moving up one in initiative to throw now. That HP can still be used to clear Alkahests incoming fatigued condition from the surge if desired. Fury throws the Mixer at Alkahest 1d20+3=5; which will miss and head towards the crowd but is well below the minimum roll for Psyches Deflect which will kick in to redirect it back at Fury. Toughness 1d20+17=23 ; bruised and dazed. Fury is dazed so can't use her move action to flee. I'll post for Fury then Alder can post for Psyche catching and returning to sender.
  18. Jersey Devil takes a double move to run through the portal. Psyche is up.
  19. The blast took Fury full in the chest charing her clothes and blistering skin beneath. She let out a howl of pain but was unflagging in her intent to cause as much mayhem as possible. The demonic visaged Jersey Devil shook off the last effects of Riley's concussive bolt and peered into the shadows where the young woodsman hid seeking the frustrating archer for a long moment, "You can't kind forever boy," he growled, "We'll find you." he promised viciously and spun on one cloven hoof leaping and scrambling with alarming speed away from the concealing barricades and through the portal in a clatter of hoof and scale.

  22. The scaled fiend staggered back several steps as the arrow detonated against his armored hide boney plates cracking under the power of the blast. The telling blow left the creature's head swimming and he swayed on his feet as he tried to shake off the concussive blasts effects. Providence smiled as Fury hefted the truck and swung his gaze back to Psyche, "I came here as courtesy." he bellowed, "A kindness for a fellow higher being." he spat angrily as he gestured at the crowd of injured and unconscious protesters and the backs of the fleeing terrified mob. "They came for you and yours today and we come to your aid." he spoke in dire fervor, "These insects thinking to sting at the hands of gods!" he boomed angrily and growled low a final threat, "And you repay us with this." he pointed at the attacks upon him and his cohorts, "If you wish an enemy you shall have it." His speech complete he turned away in disgust and shouted over the din of battle to Jersey Devil, "Come Anthony leave the fools to their fate." the sharp commanding tone snapping the demonic Jersey Devil back to the here and now. He paused next to Fury for a moment as he headed for the portal, "Leave them something to remember us by yes?" he drawled with a laugh and moments later vanished through the swirling rift in space.

  24. Ouroboros let out a heavy sigh at the entire discussion and nodded agreement to Robins assertion moments before the simulation drew to a close. He shook his head forlornly, "Yea declaring themselves independent of the government did wonders for their reputations too." he said with a smirk his demeanor falling back once more to his facade of feckless teenhood. "The world got thirty more years on the edge of its seat if it was going to be wiped out the next time egos clashed and everyone starts to wonder whose side is the league really on." he looked to his classmates, "An excellent lesson in how doing nothing about the big picture is a heroes mandate!" he laughed off the exercise and glanced to Robin and Cathy, "We might have been able to pull off taking out both sides nuke sites without triggering a war, but we'd have needed to turn the Soviet heroes to do it." He stalked out of the room with a shrug, "You know all the grads talk about how awesome their team building exercises here were." he said to Relentless, "And it seems like all you folks do now is twisted mind games making us mistrust each other or just straight up resent you all for doing it." He shook his head and looked at the other students with a vague smile, "You know we may not be as bright and polished as some of your little cub teams out of here." he said a bitterly, "But we're still all heroes so stop with the games like we're not just because we don't fit in your little boxes."
