  1. Fury recoiled in shock as the bestial thing struggled free from her grasp and struck her hard enough to set her ears ringing. Taking a step back she shook her head and growled low in her throat the entropic flames glinting in her eyes flaring as her burning rage bubbled ever closer to the surface. There were few in this world who could best her in a contest of strength and she was genuinely surprised to have encountered one here of all places. With a determined grimace she stalked back several steps to the portal and grasped the frame of the truck Psyche had blocked their escape with. Metal screeched under the strain and the terminus energized powerhouse flexed her athletic form as bands of red orange energy radiated from her frame. With a final groan of protest the truck lifted free from the ground as the woman lifted the heavy construction vehicle over her head with a triumphant laugh and turned heavy footed to face Alkahest once more her intent now clear.
  2. Rachel's sharp eyes took note as Talya artfully held the glass without drinking but the woman made no comment, despite her age she was well aware there were many reasons to mistrust gifts yet. He smile was pleasant and she slanted Erik a wary glance at the spy's suggested sponsorship, "Ah well I can certainly see too it that any applications were reviewed by the youth outreach director." She offered easily, adding with a slight smirk, "It was my understanding however that after my uncle's last visit the Espadas family desired," she paused thoughtfully in constructing her statement, "Greater distance betwixt our families." she finally settled upon with a twinkle of amusement in her eye. She however let the matter drop, if all that was requested from the Danger organization by the end of this conversation was favored partnership in charitable outreach she would be surprised indeed. "No trouble." Rachel was quick to assure Talya then demure, "Well that we know of." she slid her gaze to Dimitri with pursed lips the cold war and his fearsome reputation still more real to her than most people Frost encountered day to day. "No no," she said with a laugh, "I dare say these days our relations with your government are less frosty than your own." Rachel joked lightly and nodded to Talya, "Ms. Browning requested your aid is my understanding and we welcome your insights of course." she clarified making clear her opinion was that he was here as a courtesy to bombshell nothing more. When Erik finally broke his silence she nodded to him with a smile, "Yes quite." she agreed with a sigh looking for the first time in the meeting tired, "That is the matter I would ask your aid of Ms. Browning." she said finally and paused gathering her thoughts, "I need you to find my Uncle and deliver a message." she said finally, "I fear he'd avoid our normal channels." the elderly Danger clarified, "and I know you are a friend and discreet." she spoke her voice stressing the importance of the later as her gaze swept over Frost and Erik. Shoulders slumping under the weight of her task for the first time her voice was hushed when she spoke again, "My grandfather is dying."
  3. Fury Move action: move back to portal Standard action: Pick up cement Truck
  4. Fury Toughness Save 1d20+18=27; Ties the DC Gonna call it a bruise to even out the high comparative defensive PL.
  5. I dunno but I'll give you the extra roll anyway; 1d20+30=33; Alkahest breaks free of the grapple and can move up to her standard move distance.
  6. When Talya and Erik competed whatever preparations they felt were needed the would descend to see a car awaiting them. Clearly from the timing the driver had been dispatched before Talya had been called though as promised the care was unmarked and low profile the driver an unassuming man of middle age, if not for the two heroes experience with such matters they'd not notice the subtle clues to his training as bodyguard and professional driver at all and likely like their neighbors assume it was a hired airport shuttle or similar. Once safely ensconced in the car the driver looked to them through the mirror, "Ms. Danvers, Mr. Espadas." he spoke clearly his tone a practiced neutral, "Traffic is light we should arrive in about twenty minutes." he offered genially as he eased the car into the bustling streets of the West End and skillfully navigated them across town to a small Hanover business park housing a minor Danger International subsidiary. As the car pulled into reserved parking in front of the building they could see Dimitri climbing out of his older sedan to join them. A receptionist awaited them in the lobby and with a practiced smile she alerted her employer of their arrival and showed them back to a spacious but simple office where the elderly Danger CEO awaited them. "Welcome and thank you for coming." Rachel greeted warmly eyes flicking studiously over Erik and Dmitri flanking her expected appointment. With a gesture she invited them to sit and waved to the receptionist to offer refreshments from a small tray of fresh fruit, "Ashley makes a fine mimosa." Rachel offered as well as they were seated remaining silent until the receptionist completed her duties and took her leave. Once the receptionist was out of the room the older woman pushed a button on the desk and a high pitched whine of ultrasound could barely be heard by any sensative to such thing, "We may speak privately now." She assured the group, "The visitor logs note that Ms. Danvers and company are meeting with my head of youth outreach about potential sponsorship for a West End youth program." Her explanation was rote, the information the bare bones needed to convey the covert nature of the meeting to the old spy.
  7. Not that I'm seeing. I'll allow it go ahead and roll if you want to try again.
  8. Fury Grapple Check; 1d20+30=45; Currently successful in maintaining the grapple.
  9. GM Post "Of course." Rachel replied her voice soft and understanding, "I'd not-" she paused not wanting to say much more over the phone, "We would like to keep this matter quiet for the time being as well." She finally agreed offering further assurances, "My assistant even knows only that I wished to speak to Rebecca Danvers about a fundraiser matter." she offered conciliatory, "I am sorry to bother you at home Ma'am." The other end of the line went quiet for a long moment at Talyas question. When the Elderly Danger scion spoke again her voice held some tension, "I am not certain but if my information is accurate the danger will be minimal." Of course this was from a family famous for exploring booby trapped cursed tombs with eight year olds so 'minimal' could mean alot of things. A short time later, though troublingly less time than it would take to dispatch from any known Danger holdings, an unmarked dark blue sedan pulled up in front of the School and idled while the driver awaited Talyas presence.
  10. Mike nodded agreement, "They were fresh from a dealer not worth anything to the police." Mike said solidly as the men vanished around the corner. "They won't get clean sitting in lockup for a few weeks." he shrugged dejectedly, "At least they have a chance." he took a deep breath of the chill night air and let it out slowly letting the disappointment with how the encounter had run its expected course out with the breath. "It is isn't it." he said with a small smile and offered her a hand, "Lets go home." he suggested giving her a small wink and looking up to ensure they were clear of any obstructions or low flying aircraft.
  11. Mike let a small sigh escape his lips at Alex's assertion, she was right, of course she was right, but he had hoped it would not come to that. It was such a nice night after all. The muggers seemed at first to be wary of Mikes calm demeanor the quieter one off to the side fondling the likely gun in his pocket like a talisman against repercussions for his misdeeds, "Yea we'll take that and be keeping our guns." he snapped angrily clearly the worse off for coming down off whatever they were hooked on. The one who had spoken first seemed to hesitate, considering Mike's offer before his partner in crime spoke up bringing him back to the moment. He reached out carefully and plucked the wad of bills from Mike's fingers cramming it in a pocket, "What kinda idiot you think I am man." he growled feeling his withdrawals acutely. He stared at Mike's face uncertain for a long time the internal struggle writ on his face, going clean was never really an option though and when Alex's ring glinted in the hazy light of hte streetlamps he snapped to attention, "An the jewelry." he demanded firming his slack grip on the pistol and waving it more erratically. Mike shook his head, "Can't do that." he said firmly and met the man's eyes, "This isn't going to end how you think." he said quietly, "Don't do this." the big man begged, "You don't have to do this." his voice was kind even now though resolved that this was not going to end peaceably. The muggers grew in confidence at his words thinking him afraid, "The ring!" the thief screamed, "Now!" his movements more agitated and eyes growing wild. Mikes refusal outraged him and with a grimace and bellowed curse swung the short barrel toward Alex and squeezed the trigger the quiet alley filled with the flash and boom of gunfire. The drug addled thieves didn't even see Mike move and stared at Alex where she stood unharmed after the series of wild shots, "That *&%*#( &*$#$%." the addict howled, "Mickey sold me a bum gun!" he bellowed at his partner who slowly drew his own dilapidated pistol. Mike shook his head, "No." he stated flatly, "He didn't." opening his hand letting the spent slugs fall from his grip to rattle across the pavement. The thieves eyes grew wide with fear, "Tha- thats not possible." the first stammered and began to backpedal. The other raised his gun toward the pair preparing to fire but was too slow. In a flash Mike was in front of him plucking the gun from his grip and crushing it into a lump of ruined metal. "This is no way to live." he said firmly to the pair as they began to scatter and flee the other gun clattering to the pavement in the thieves desperate flight.
  12. Alright Portal blocked and Reagent/Alkahest is up.
  13. "Yes thank you." Mike replied gratefully and flashed a smile at Alex he generally felt oversize and claustrophobic in crowds and rarely felt he had much to add to conversations such as these as happy as he was to see her relaxing among the cast. Stepping out into the slight chill of the winter night he wrapped a hand around her shoulders to let her lean into him. He didn't really feel the cold, at least not with context as to what was too cold for those more vulnerable to normal temperature ranges and raised a brow at her assertion, "You know it gets colder up there." he whispered gently as he glanced up considering it clearly, "And I drove remember you'd have to send some out to fetch the car, as generous as AEONs compensation is that isn't something we need to send your staff out to deal with." he countered with a shrug, "I guess I could come back and get it tomorrow we're already paying the overnight rate." he considered out loud as if the difference between the eight dollars for a couple hours and the twenty four for the overnight had real meaning for those in Alex and by extension his own tax brackets. Distracted by the company and conversation Mike at least took no notice of the nervous behavior of the pair of men walking towards them until they drew up blocking the couples advance. As Mike and Alex came to a stop before the less underfed sickly looking of the pair held up a hand and pulled a snub nose revolver from his waistband aiming it roughly at Mikes broad chest from a couple yards away. The other had one hand stuffed firmly in a pocket as he shiftily eyed the clearly well to do couple. The first one spoke after a long moment, "Wallets now man." he insisted gesturing with the gun toward the ground between them. "Do it!" he snapped uncertainly eyes full of fear and desperation, "No hero stuff and no one gets hurt." he demanded voice quavering hardly the hardened criminal it seemed he was trying to be. Mike tightened his grip on Alex slightly as the men stopped them his body tensing despite the unlikelihood of the gun managing to hurt even Alex no less himself. His face however showed no fear at the man's demand, only a small sad frown at the muggers desperation. He slowly dropped his hands to his sides palms out to indicate no threat and stepped forward to better block a shot at Alex just in case. "This isn't a way to live." he said quietly and slowly moved one a hand toward his coat's breast pocket, "I'm just getting my Wallet out we don't want anyone hurt." he explained calmly meaning the muggers not himself. Pulling out his wallet he offered the man the couple hundred in cash he had in reserve for the night out on the town. Eyes following the gun he asked carefully, "You got a place to sleep?" he asked voice carefully modulated tot he tones he learned in his crisis training at the academy, "Here." he waved the handful of bills, "How about I buy that gun off you and you get you and your buddy something to eat, maybe somewhere warm to sleep for a few nights." his voice was pained he couldn't offer more. "You can be better than this." Mike intoned willing the man against all odds to be his better self.
  14. If you want to hurt someone on the other side it's an attack roll, if you want to block the portal no roll is needed as you're not tossing it you're carefully placing it.
  15. GM Post Marjorie was a bit taken aback by the youthful exuberance and as Talya wrested the phone the poised assistant questioned gently, "Is your mother or-" quickly cutting off as an adult spoke, "Ah thank you Ms. Danvers." she replied carefully, "I am calling from the office of Mrs. Rachel Dent-Danger of Danger International. Please hold while I put you through." she explained quickly and Talya could hear the telltale clicks of the call being transferred. She could just make out a faint, "Thank you Marjorie." before the kindly yet firm voice of Aces niece filled the earpiece. "Good morning Ms. Browning." She spoke clearly, "This is Rachel Dent-Danger, We've met briefly though I think this the first time we've been introduced without aliases." She offered a lilting smile to her tone. "I do hope I am not imposing but I had hoped to meet with you to discuss a family matter that I hope you will be able to assist me with." She inquired carefully, "Over lunch perhaps? I can have a car sent around, unmarked, if you would like." she offered with care, "I apologize for calling you here." she added carefully knowing that her connection to the Espadas was not something the woman likely wished widely known., "Unfortunately time is of the essence." The elderly Danger awaited Bombshells reply with carefully controlled breathing, to most it was nothing but to one as trained in the arts of deception and intrigue as Natalya Browning it was clear. Rachel Danger, granddaughter of Johnny Danger and CEO of Danger International was nervous.
  16. Well if you want to throw it through with force it's the to hit roll (like in hope of hitting whoever is maintaining it). If you want to set the truck in the way of the portal you can do that with precise and your move object ranks.
  17. GM post Sunday, February 28th 2016 10:30 AM Espadas School of Self-Defense and Swordsmanship, Private Apartments "It is still early for a Sunday Ma'am." the personal assistant suggested quietly, the protest fell however on deaf ears. "Marjorie, If this was not time sensitive I wouldn't be bothering the poor woman." came the reply clipped but not cold, "Besides they have children and I have raised enough of those to know late mornings are likely the least of their concerns." She added a bit more warmly, "Make the call please." Thus on the crisp february morning the phone in the apartment housing the ever growing Espadas family began to ring. The number was blocked, and at a very high level though expertise such as the household AI like as not could break it in short order and reveal the call as originating from Danger Internationals sprawling Hannover Campus. When the phone was answered Marjorie spoke in a bright and clear tone, "Good morning, I'm trying to reach a Ms. Rebecka Danvers." she requested politely, "Is she available?"
  18. With a clatter of hooves on concrete the Jersey Devil bounded after Woodsman with a furious bellow of outrage at the insolent attack. The misshapen mutant leapt from barricade to barricade peering menacingly into the shadows as he sought out his quarry. Long wicked claws scraped ominously along the concrete leaving small furrows in their wake as the demonic visage cast back and forth in the Devils search. As the monster grew closer a creeping dread picked at the young archers mind, a nameless faceless dread of something standing just out of sight behind you, or the eerie quiet of the deep woods, an otherworldly terror scraping lightly at the teens honed will. Searching low and high he crept among the barricades a low constant murmured prayer spoken barely audible as he passed Riley's hiding place looking nearly right at the young Woodsman before stalking away with a wrathful curse.
  19. Jersey Devil will go hunting Riley, DC 30 Notice 1d20+10=22; With no success so far. Psyche is up.
  20. That'll miss yes. He knows you're there though not exactly where so no surprise attack bonus.
  21. The bolt from the Woodsmans crossbow flew true lodging in one scaled buttock of the monstrous terminus mutant earning a furious howl from the creature as it whirled looking for the offending human as the wily teen vanished into the tumble of barricades and let out vile string of curses as it looked to Providence for direction. This one as monstrous as it seemed was perhaps more obedient than the ferals Woodsman normally fought. At the questioning look Providence nodded, "Take care of the whelp." the cyborg commanded and raised an arm Sparkers direction, "You have been warned girl." he growled voice full of malice, "I'll not forgive a second offense." the words were heavy with implied violence and his eyes swam with the madness of the truly fanatical. Slowly lowering his arm he let his voice carry once more as he prolestisyzed to the news cameras still rolling on the unfolding carnage. "These human dogs would see us driven from our homes, stamped, imprisoned, shackled like animals" he boomed vigorously. "They fear us but worse they think their pathetic throwback nature makes them our superiors." he roared with a shake of his head, "I have seen the road they would walk us down, the road these appeasing coward would have us walk." he spat angrily, "I have seen the tortures they would heap upon us and I shall not let it come to pass!" he bellowed, "All of us have to stand together and put a stop to this madness before it takes hold, we must stand united to rule where our superior ability rightfully puts us." He raised his arms in a victorious stance, "We are the giants among them and those that serve will be rewarded." he dropped his arms dramatically as he looked down, "And those who would see us chained will pay for their insolence."
  22. Shortcut will maintain the portal for his action. Providence will activate his master plan: 1d20+5=8: or not so Masterful... 24. Well he would (hence the HP) but he has precise on his bow so he can negate the penalty. The idea being not everyone is running sensibly away alot of them are running across lines of fire and otherwise chaotically.
  25. Knowledge technology I'll say 10+ ranks as I don't recall the exact standard I used when I first made the character and that seems reasonable for a skill restriction.
