  1. Mike comfortably laid a hand over her own on his arm and carefully measured his steps to Alex's own as the followed the usher. The older man smiled at her enthusiasm, "We are quite pleased you enjoyed the show Mrs. Albright." he intoned politely as he led them down and around to the backstage where cast and crew relaxed around drinks and food. One of the shows producers caught sight of them and the Ushers signal and quickly stood to introduce himself and offer an introduction to cast and crew, "Deckard Tate." he spoke warmly with the slight ingratiating tone Alex had learned to expect form such meetings. "Ladies and Gentlemen a moment?" he called out as the crew quieted, "May I introduce the trustees guests of honor Mr. and Mrs. Albright." The crew quieted for the introduction then broke off into groups to greet the VIP pair in smaller more intimate conversation. Mike for his part was careful to refer most of the conversation Alexs direction though he was quick to praise hte performance and the play itself as a favorite since his childhood. A short while later as the cast and crew slowly filtered off to change and take care of the sundry needs of the post show one of the stage crew offered to have their car brought around while they finished their conversations, When the couple demurred he suggested that the cast entrance behind the theatre might be a less crowded point of egress perhaps noticing Mikes discomfort with the small throng of thespians.
  2. The strange helm atop Providences head was lit for a moment as the inscribed circuitry flashed with a deep purple light in response to Psyches attempted mental attack. The terminus mutant supremacist smug grin was almost palpable as the potent psychic energy flowed around him like he wasn't even there. Beckoning from the portal he called still more of his followers to the field though his eyes widened as the vehicles lining the street lifted into the air, "That's not possible." he said with a shake of his head barely audible above the din of the panicked crowd. Sidestepping the Alkahests wild attack letting the beast pulverize the pavement where he had stood he called out, "FURY, take care of this, Thing." he demanded not to be swayed from his plan by rampaging monsters not under his command. A compact and athletic young woman of chinese descent burst forth from the portal with a mad grin and eyes burning like twin entropic fires, "About time!" she cheered as she charged at Alkahest with startling speed knocking aside frightened bystanders like bowling pins. Posting from the curb at the last moment her final leap shattered the pavement as she launched herself into Alkahests side colliding with the huge creature with the force of a freight train in a flying tackle flares of entropic power radiating from her as she attempted to wrestle the alchemical horror away from her patron.

  6. Jersey Devil does not show up to magic senses despite his demonic appearance.
  7. Providence raised one metallic arm shielding himself as the young witches gout of flame washed over him. As the flare died away he stood still, blackened scorch marks marring his cybernetic limb and clothes, "You vent your rage at the wrong enemy young one, Next time I may be less forgiving." he warned voice booming over the panicked crowd. He glanced with a smile to the portal as a dark form bound through the rent in space. The creature that joined him was a twisted almost demonic mockery of humanity read leathery flesh with glinting black scales and plates of twisted bone covering the misshapen body all of wrong proportion, loping on elongated ape like arms ending in oversize hands tipped with vicious claws the creature stood back on stunted legs ending in cloven hooves as its inhuman tooth filled maw let out a keening cry, reptilian nostrils flaring as it hissed viciously at the terrified crowd and shook a malformed head capped by large curving rams horns in black and red. The nightmare creatures chilling display sent the crowd already on the edge of panic into chaos. Protesters and police alike trampled and fought as they ran in terror in all directions, the mass of civilians providing easy cover for the murderous cyborg and his monstrous cohort.

  9. As Nighthawk made her way down the street and punched in the code Kingsnake and Woodsman crept along the ledges and eaves of the building above carefully trying to avoid the sightlines of the cameras they had spotted. Lowering themselves quietly to the door above Kingsnake was able to make short work of the alarm system and lock gaining them entry to the abandoned storefront. Scraps of paper and a few broken shelves littered the small area in front, an empty doorway leading to a back storage room and small empty former office stood behind the lone dilapidate counter. Following the hallway beyond the stealthy heroes found a rough staircase leading to what had been the basement but was now the office where. Nighthawk stood. In the conversion it appeared the contractor had cut some corners and merely drywalled over the former doorway rather than reframing the section of wall fully. Through the thin layer of sheetrock even riley could make out muffled conversation, for Kingsnakes enhanced hearing it was as if he was in the room. As Robin entered the receptionist behind the desk looked up from the solitaire game on her computer and blinked uncertainly for a moment, it seemed a rare occurrence for this office to receive visitors or perhaps it was the lateness of the hour. Regardless after a moment she remembered her instructions and carefully assembled a short emergency contact form on a crisp new clip board which she passed through the drawer below the window, "Emergency contact information, please fill it out and have a seat." she instructed rotely, "Do you have your flyer?" she inquired as she punched up something on the computer before her preparing to access records most likely.
  10. Alright stealth checks for Riley and Kingsnake to avoid being seen or heard sneaking in through the upstairs. (Or post your skill mastery results if you go that route)
  11. Ace Danger Interdimensional man of mystery and immortal adventurer across the ages. Ace Danger began his career with his two fisted adventuring Father Johnny Danger of the Jungle Patrol, Served with the Allies of Freedom in the second world war, Battled Shadow and Communism alike as a gentleman spy through the cold war and has earned a reputation as rake and libertine across more than one dimension in his wide travels. His unique life has left him with a wide net of allies, associates, enemies, treasures and a wealth of experience in the most outlandish of adventures. History Birth to 1933: Ace was born in freedom at the estate his father had purchased shortly after his return from the first of many African ventures that earned the family it's wealth. In the early years his father was a distant figure who was heard to say of the boy, "I'd just assume wait until he turns into a person to spend time with him." Ace was close to his mother in his youth and grew more so when at age three the family moved to a small home in Ghana not far from the diamond mines that were the primary family venture of the time. He was not at this age the frontier child his father expected him to be doing little to improve their relationship. His mother he of course adored and she perhaps coddled the youth so out of his element in those early years though she did ground him in the good the family was able to do living closer to his fathers pursuits and taught him a deep respect for the native born of the community. Not long after his eighth birthday his father decided to become more engaged in Ace's upbringing and Ace began to travel with Johnny Danger and the Jungle Patrol on their ventures. 1933-1942 The Jungle Patrol: Ace traveled with his father on minor ventures considered by the times to be safe as early as age five, however it was at eight years of age that Ace's career with the Jungle Patrol truly began with what would later be cataloged as the famed, 'Jungle Patrol and the Tomb of the Boy Pharaoh!' serial. It was intended to be a mundane excursion to visit an archaeology dig at the behest of team antiquarian Huang 'Hong Kong Harry' Chun. The Tomb it turned out bore a curse and many traps and deadfalls, a harrowing experience for a boy of eight certainly but his quick wits and limber (and smaller) form allowed the young man to escape a trapped room and eventually to find his way to the heart of the tomb where he put the curse to rest by returning the boy Pharaoh's amulet. Reversing the rising tide of sands just in time to save the adults Ace was from then forward a constant companion and mascot of sorts to the Jungle Patrol. He was at his father's side for some of the most famed expeditions the Patrol undertook to the heights of the himalayas seeking the mysterious Yeti, or the depths of the sea exploring Atlantean ruins, and many more beside. Ace was a darling of the press upon the Patrols return from these ventures regaling them with tales from his diary which would later, very loosely, form the basis for the 'Ace Danger and the Jungle Patrol!' animated series in the years after the war. During his travels with the Jungle Patrol he was joined by Rahim, a boy of his own age and ward of the Danger family. The boys were fast friends, inseparable in their many adventures getting each other into and out of trouble at every turn. Toward the later years as Ace and Rahim blossomed into teens the Patrol was more and more often joined by Ace's younger brother Rex as well, Rex had lived the frontier life with the family in Africa longer than he was able to walk and in Aces mind at least was his fathers favorite. As Rex took on more and more of the mascot and youthful scamp role that Ace had once held Ace and rhim more and more took on adult responsibilities in the Patrol though still under the guidance of older members. Through these years Ace learned much of hte wide world and hidden lands and the peoples throughout them. He also became skilled to at least a small degree in the many arts and skills needed to keep an expedition going despite setbacks and conflict. As the war in Europe raged and the flames of the conflict spread to Africa and Southeast Asia the Jungle Patrol had greater and greater difficulty avoiding involvement. Nazi and Thule expeditions often raced the Patrol for potent artifacts that might turn the tide of war and the dangers grew. Patricia and the younger children returned to the states and the Jungle Patrol more and more often confronted the agents of the Axis powers though they remained nominally independent from the allied military. Ace however felt he had more to prove to his father who had often spoke of his time serving in the Great War with Ace Adams as a young man and lied about his age on his service papers joining the US Army. 1942-1945 The War Years: Ace was never destined to serve in the infantry and was forwarded immediately out of Basic Training to the OSS. Initially in the OSS and soon as a member of the Allies of Freedom Ace operated behind enemy lines often in North Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia as a special liaison to local tribes as well as an agent provocateur. He saw some service in Europe particularly as the war closed in on the eastern theatre serving with other Allies of Freedom on occasion but primarily working in the realms of espionage and sabotage. He and his families many allies in the wild frontiers of the world were of great use in bringing local forces to bear on Nazi supply lines and later Aces own training in a wide variety of realms was put to good use undermining Nazi operations in europe in advance of the normandy invasions. Here he met and worked with other covert agents such as Bombshell and Comrade Frost as well as the more famed faces of the Allies of Freedom. Through much of this time his good friend Rahim was at his side though in later years of the war Rahim operated independently in the Middle east helping with local knowledge to stabilize the region as Allied troops were redeployed to Europe and later the Pacific. After the war there was less use for a famous and sometimes spoiled scion of a wealthy family in the armed services and Aces maverick stylings and less than circumspect romantic behaviors were no longer as easily overlooked. Though his service and familial connections ensured he was not publicly disavowed he was no longer welcome in the service. This never sat well with his father and led to a lengthy estrangement between the two men. 1945-1968 Ace Danger Gentleman Spy: Removal from the Army did not long put an end to Aces service. First as a hired hand of sorts for the short lived Strategic Services Unit and later the Central Intelligence Group. Ace traveled primarily in the Middle East and North Africa shoring up alliances with tribal leaders and nascent governments against the new threat of spreading communism between assorted personal ventures. When the CIA was formally created by the National Security Act in 1947 Ace was one of the first recruits his expertise outweighing the prevalent homophobia of early espionage organizations. Ace was brought into the Special Activities division then later AEGIS where he operated against both remnants of Shadow still manipulating events behind the scenes as well as Soviet agents, some of which had been close allies in the war years. Ace was at best reckless as an agent, while he got results his activities were rarely pursued with the subtlety of more traditional agents in the company. Most attributed this recklessness to his immortality though whispers abounded that his estrangement from his family or perhaps a romantic engagement gone wrong was at the root of his almost suicidal approach to espionage. Among the intelligence community his libertine tendencies were as legendary as his miraculous escapes and daring rescues. He was always it seemed one step ahead in a business where that was the bare minimum for success. In later years his actions, particularly against Shadow, would grow in fame when novelizations and films were made about his more high profile capers. He defined the carefree gentleman spy that while largely inaccurate served as a romantic notion for the public. By the late sixties his outrageous behavior grew to be more liability than benefit and more and more often he was deployed as distraction rather than actual agent, a tendency he resented despite on some level knowing it to be wise. He formally left the service on good terms after spending a few years bouncing between AEGIS and CIA command as the organizations tried to find a place for him in a world more and more driven by stable and staid intelligence practice and less and less the cowboy agent provocateur methods Ace personified. 1968-1979 Wandering Dilettante: After leaving the intelligence game behind Ace tried to reconnect with his family to middling success, it was in these years that he became most active in the assorted properties in production based on his life and that Danger Manor was built initially as a set for films and a short lived TV series about his many adventures. He acted in some as himself though usually could not be bothered to keep so grueling a schedule. He spoke at assorted engagements celebrating veterans and early heroes, wrote rather premature memoirs, and attended and managed an extensive social calendar in the days and sunk into the excesses of the era by night. Perhaps in some call out to his youth or his father he pursued expeditions to inhospitable regions and strange lands seeking something just out of reach, acceptance perhaps or maybe some sort of lost innocence of his youth. A long wake of broken hearts and angry parents led to Ace slowly being weaned from the spotlight by his family lest he cause too much embarrassment. In late 1979 Ace gave up any pretense of concealing his sexuality or for that matter more outlandish behaviors and the Danger family lost the ability to do much damage control beyond distancing themselves from his excesses. He became a black sheep of the family in a very public way though his brother Rex refused to treat him as such. Ace partied hard all night slept all day and started it up again week in week out. He lived as a cautionary tale of wealth, power and jaded immortal ennui run rampant. 1979-1993 The Lost Years: Ace partook of the worst excesses of the eighties with wild abandon. He was a jaded playboy throwing his sexuality and lifestyle in the faces of the pubic with outrageous stunt after outrageous stunt. He was of course even more beloved for it, a darling of the tabloids and those rebelling against the new straight and narrow popular culture. While decried by many for his outlandish behavior later observers would say his carefree and open attitude and devil may care demeanor did much to beat back the repression of the era or at least keep alive hope for those less protected by wealth and privilege that they were at the least not alone. Of course his frank and open abuse of assorted controlled substances and libertine sexual behavior landed him both in trouble with the law and the morality cops of the time. He was the poster child of all that was wrong with the decadence of modern society or a waving flag of freedom depending who one asked, polarizing in all things he did. But all parties must come to an end and for Ace the end was the resounding roar of an Omega Beam amidst the 1993 Terminus invasion. 1993-Present Ace Danger Interdimensional Man of Mystery: Ace was in his brothers sports car as Rex drove them both toward the city center in a desperate bid to maybe make a difference. He never got the chance, the entropic beam wasn't even aimed at them, Rex turned the car into the way of a stray disintegration beam to buy a bus time to empty. Ace woke up minutes later on the street alone, the bus was saved long enough for other heroes to get the civilians to safety, There wasn't even a scrap of Rex to bury. Rex's selfless sacrifice snapped Ace out of his decades old funk, his brother had remained certain that Ace was not a lost cause long after the rest of the Dangers had given up. Ace decided in that moment he owed it to his brother's memory to prove him right. Ace returned to the active heroics scene using almost a century of experience with the weird and wild to do good in the world, and look good doing it. Ace has done battle with many villains in the time since always using his unique skillset to buy him the edge he needed to bring them in. Equally at home on the streets or dancing between dimensions setting wrongs right Ace Danger is once again a force for good and for awesome. Costume and Appearance Standing at a solid six feet Ace is tall but not towering, with a sculpted athletic figure. His delicate features are set of with bright and alert Blue eyes and a full head of blond hair most often in that unique state of purposefully mussed that is so popular today. Day to day wear varies as the occasion requires though casual day to day wear is relaxed slacks, casual shirt under a rough and ready bomber jacket topped by his hallmark rumpled brown fedora. This also serves as his standard wear while active in superheroics or other adventure. Powers The core of Ace's super-human power is his immortality, his youthful adventures in tombs and mystic lands has rewarded him with life eternal. He does not age, is untouched by toxins and disease, and will recover from even the most grievous of wounds. Beyond his immortal form Ace has nearly a century of training and experience in the wide world of superheroics, gifts and treasures from many places and esoteric training in a wide variety of arts martial and esoteric. If he hasn't dealt with a similar situation chances are his wealth of experience will buy him time to tap into a more than a lifetime's worth of comrades and cohorts who have. Allies Ace has friends around hte world, and a few in others, that he can call upon for favors here and there. However there are some that he is closer to than others. He shares a bond of common service with Bombshell and Comrade Frost after they served together in the war and have remained friendly if not allied through differing sides of the cold war and the law over the times since. He remains close to the former members of hte Jungle Patrol who yet live as well and through Huang 'Hong Kong Harry' Chun is allied with the enigmatic Phantom. Through their forebears he knows both Mark 'Edge' Lucas as well as the mysterious Midnight (II). And of course he can call upon the wealth and influence of his family should the situation require, the Danger Family and Danger International have resources that eclipse even his own impressive holdings. Danger Manor The Danger family owns many properties and homes from penthouses in the city to rustic cabins and high end homes in the best neighborhoods of their chosen cities. Ace bases himself out of Danger Manor, Originally built as a set piece for the Ace Danger serials in his younger days it has been updated with the best that Ace's long career could acquire. The opulent mansion is not only a fully functional home with all the amenities, it also is possessed of the features popularized from ti's days as a set and the former production areas reworked into training rooms and security centers from which the entire house can be monitored. Hidden docks and landing pads, underground garage, advanced communications and computer technology and a Dakanan power generator keeps it independent from the power grid. The many rooms are filled with artifacts and treasures from his years of travels and adventures. Timeline Lost to the Sands of site migrations...
  12. Ellis was sure to intercept the check and pay as there were a few things he definitely remembered about dating still and paying certainly edged it towards date and away from 'friends sharing a meal' "I know." he replied with an easy smile, "And any time now I'll come up with the courage to do so without a lame excuse about school paperwork or possible demons in my OR." he suggested with a grin and stood offering a hand to help her to her feet. Once she stood he looked down at her with a small smile, "I Really did enjoy this." he said once more and paused hesitantly, "I like you alot." he repeated again wincing as he heard his own repetitive wording and let out a sigh before rushing out the words, "I'd like to see you again, soon, dinner, maybe dancing?" he asked the words running together as he nervously pushed them out and looked away pinching his brow, "Sorry I don't..." he trailed off not even sure what to say but feeling distinctly like he'd done this wrong somehow.

  15. The untrained terrorists were no match for the brutish strength of the Alkahest the backhand sent the man flying to crumple against a wall hundreds of yards away cracking the brick and masonry with his impact and collapsing to the ground in a shattered heap. The others raised weapons they were barely familiar with to open fire wildly on the creature to no avail. Woodsman's charge took another off his feet and a third was easily thrown to the ground where both writhed barely conscious as they tried ineffectually to move away from the terrifying apparitions their assault had awakened. Inside the AEON Lobby EMTs and security helped the injured woman to the floor and began desperate first aid though it seemed rather touch and go. The woman needed a hospital but with the crowds outside and the danger on the streets it was uncertain how soon she'd be able to get to one. One of the in house doctors suggested moving her to one of the AEON facilities deeper in the building and lively debate between her and the EMTS commenced. Directly behind where the shooters had opened fire in the first place the air was sliced by a shimmering line unfolding like a door to somewhere else, beyond the portal glimpses of a darkened room, spartan, military perhaps but in poor repair could be seen. There was movement in the portal as well though hard to make out details. Then a form tall and broad of shoulder emerged from the portal, the olive drab tank top revealed glinting metal arms that hummed as he moved, his step resounding with a weight beyond what seemed possible for his side the paving stones cracking where he stepped. In his eye Riley could catch a glint of laser light as the half machine half man surveyed the panicked crowd from beneath a glinting silver helm traced with a fine filigree, perhaps some sort of circuitry. Strapped to his back were a pair of enormous pistols of some sort, like the energy weapons from some science fiction movie. He made no move towards the weapons however as he smirked at the addled shooter on the ground before him blearily trying to shake off the effects of Woodsmans fentanyl laced arrow. His voice cut above the crowd, amplified perhaps by his obvious cybernetic enhancements and flowing across a broad swath of the radio frequencies at the same time, "These insects!" he spat vitriolically, "Think to make war on their betters." His imperious gaze swept over the crowd, "They fear us, they fear our power and they fear what we represent." he boomed regally, "They fear their own growing obsolescence, they see in us the future and their small minds can see they have no place within it!" he bellowed arms raised, "And they are right to fear." he said slightly more softly, "I have seen the coming war and We shall stop it before it can begin." He stared out at the police ans security officers and protesters in kind, "This is your final warning," He cried in outrage, "Kneel or face your demise." At his final word he brought one foot down hard on the neck of the unconscious man before him snuffing the life from him in one brutal movement. He waved to the portal beckoning forth his cohorts it seemed and looked out over the crowd toward Psyche where she hovered and spoke his tone friendly despite his recent brutality, "They'll never accept you you know, they know only fear and death, Give up this fool task, join the winning side."
  16. You can have the HP certainly that seems reasonable, and those will hit and KO the Shooters. Assuming non-lethal hatcheting and shooting still...

Reagent/Alkahest was in the protective field but crossed it when she went Alkahest form and is now over by the Shooters having dispatched one (another is unconcious on the ground near there from Woodsmans knockout bolt). Sparkler is in the relative safety of the lobby where EMS personnel are rushing to help the wounded receptionist she brought in. The Fellowship (Shortcut, Providence, Jersey Devil, and Fury) Are not yet on scene but are in the initiative order so they are in the order for when they do arrive. The Protesters that did not shoot are now in a mixed state of panic and rioting and fleeing or fighting the police and security. Neither the protesters nor the Police are engaging any of the supers, nor the Shooters currently but are in the way of AOE's and collateral damage. It is the Top of round 2 and Woodsman is up.
  18. Mike smiled at the thought and gave her knee a gentle supportive squeeze, Turns out I know you pretty well Ms. Albright. He suggested silently as the opening number began, I know I have not been as here for you as I should have been, that's going to change. He promised as they settled in comfortable silence to watch the show with rare interruption to recall anecdotes like marching around the Albrights thanksgiving table together belting out 'Protocoligorically Correct' after being ordered to set the table for the sometimes fussy formal holiday dinner. As the lights went up and the crowd gave a standing ovation the Head Usher returned once more standing quietly at the door while the applause died and Mike and Alex gathered themselves and stood. "Mrs. and Mr. Albright." he intoned politely, "The Director has asked that I extend an invitation to meet the cast and crew should your evening allow." He held the door for them with polite deference. Mike glanced down to Alex with slight question in his thoughts and nodded, "I think we would be delighted." he replied and taking Alexs arm moved to follow.
  19. that'll do. They will be KO'd and fly until they hit some building. as that is on the order of a rank 15 KB effect.
  20. Reagent is up.
  21. Huang let out a heavy sigh at the non-response his words earned from the simulated politicians and leaned forward in his chair to squeeze the bridge of his nose, "Even if we had the week to put together and the power to perform a ritual that would defeat whatever Frost has waiting for us," he explained flatly looking from the faux president to the others as obviously they did not have that, "How bad do you want those missiles gone?" he asked firmly, "At what cost?" he added coldly as he trusted the pair exactly not at all. Standing he turned and stalked to the back of the room shooting a hard look at Riley then Robin, "There are ways of dealing with the nukes, making sure they can't threaten the US." he admitted, "Crack the casing and take the warheads out, no risk of detonation, then we dispose of them." he explained offering a nod to Robin, "I have ways to take care of all the nukes we can get to." he promised, his connection to the void more than equal the task of storing nuclear material long enough to properly dispose of it, like in the sun or something.
  22. Huang froze a long moment at Talyas comment quickly counting back the years and realizing he'd missed his target time frame by about a year. He stared at the buxom blonde and shook his head, "What? No nothing." he lied, badly. Stepping out to the center of the room he went through a big show of stretching that mostly showed he'd not undergone anything like traditional physical conditioning in his short time on this earth, "Alright so like we learn to sweep the leg or something now right?" He asked trying to move on from his time displaced gaffe. He turned to glance at his fellow students over his shoulder and shrugged, "Or," he paused and glanced to Erik, "Not swords right?" he asked uncertainly as there were few tasks he looked forward too less than being a master's example of how not to perform their craft.
  23. TBA will continue to hold, Psyche is up.
  24. As Woodsmans bolt found it's mark the rest of the fanatics let out a howl, "For Humanity!" and opened fire wildly into the clustered students. These were no trained soldiers or even enthusiasts and the shots sprayed wildly pelting the pavement and barricades behind the students. The noise was deafening and the smell of burnt sulfur hung acrid in the air as the light smoke from the automatic pistols drifted in the air. None of the students were hit despite the intense fusilade, next to Raina and Fred their escort let out a fearful yelp and cowered down near the ground though it did her little good as bullets tore into the slight woman sending her pitching to the ground as a spray of arterial blood arced up to slash Freds coat with a bright line of deep red. She lay in a pool of crimson at their feet glassy eyed and hyperventilating as she slid into shock. The police drew their sidearms and Security their batons as they tried to press through the now rioting crowd toward the gunmen but to no avail the crowd pressed back and as calls went out for backup over the radio it looked as if the conscious gunmen may yet flee into the crowd and escape. The barricades strained and toppled and the crowd surged forth a security officer dived to cover the wounded receptionist before she was trampled while others drew in close calling out what words of encouragement they could to what they assumed must be frightened teens as they tried to draw up a protective huddle with their own bodies between the students and the crowd of angry and frightened protesters.
  25. The TBA's will hold their actions for the time being. Sparkler is up.
