  1. The apparent leader of the small cluster of protesters seemed unswayed by Rileys threats, "Our lives are small price to rid the world of you monsters!" he shouted and met Rileys eyes with the crazed fervor Riley had seen only on the eyes of some of the few survivors of the forests arrival that had lost everything when the Ferals first came, the look of a survivor staring down a pack running at the fences. The mans cold blue eyes were empty of any fear in the moment only hatred remained as he pulled the heavy silver revolver from a shoulder holster and slowly brought it to bear on Riley. Next to him the others hesitated a moment longer but they too drew firearms and prepared to open fire on the students and their escort. The police and Security forces reached for weapons as the guns came out but they were going to be too slow, "Gun!" went up the shout among the protectors as the panicked and angry crowd bowed and toppled the barricades in a surge of fear or rage, they'd be all around the Claremont students in seconds.
  2. The 'lead' minion Riley has covered draws a heavy pistol and will be shot and KO'd by Riley's readied action. Two of the remaining minions will draw light pistols and aid the last two The Two remaining minions will draw machine pistols and walk fire across the group. The first starts with the Assistant hitting and knocking her to bleeding out then moves down the line to Raina; 1d20+1=2, then Fred; 1d20=5, and finally Riley; 1d20-1=12 The second starts with riley; 1d20+2=5, Then Fred; 1d20+1=8, And Raina; 1d20=10 All miss. This will however trigger the Alkahest transformation I gave Reagent HP for earlier. At the shots fired the police and security will try to get to the shooters but be impeded by the now rioting mob as the barriers buckle under the surge of people and topple over.

  4. Overview Danger International is the corporate face of the famed Danger Family. The company was founded by Johnny Danger with profits earned from an african diamond mind and carefully stewarded by his children and grandchildren into a multinational organization for both economic growth and charity. The overarching corporation is Danger International, the privately held corporation is the prime or full owner of the assorted corporate and non-profit arms that make up the sprawling Danger empire. Within this umbrella are the several companies and charities that do the actual business of Danger International. The John and Patricia Danger Foundation serves as the primary charitable arm of the Danger family managing assorted endowments, scholarships, as well as investment and fundraising for the Foundations Trust. Danger Industries is the company responsible for the operation and management of the original mining interests in Africa from which the other organizations gained their start. Danger Media holds the copyright and trademark materials related to the famed family and it's many licensed product agreements through the ages. The Danger Trade and Tourism Corporation is a publically held corporation related to facilitating trade and tourism with the nation of Dakana. The Danger Institute is a think tank and independent research institute that while lacking the high tech draw of groups like Astrolabs, or Archtech fills a vital niche in natural and social sciences. Danger Financial Services is the golden calf of the Family business, it serves as an international financial services bank as well as a powerful brokerage house in a breadth of markets. The Danger Family itself serves as a de facto seventh corporate entity, the family resources are collected in an array of trusts and privately held corporate entities to ensure both tax security and contend with some of the difficulties of the extreme lifespans or lifestyles of some members. In particular after the first of Ace Dangers widely publicized deaths on one of his more extreme adventures it was found necessary to secure the family properties and goods in a fashion less reliant upon the terms of mortality that surrounds most matters of inheritance. The members of the family maintain personal smaller holdings but the bulk of their wealth is held in trust and accessed and maintained through accountants. How much personal interest a family member takes in the management of hte trusts of course varies greatly. The Danger Family The patriarch of the famed Danger family, John (Johnny) Danger, founder of the Jungle Patrol and Danger International, has long been a larger than life figure in the society circles of Freedom city and the wider world. The Danger fortune and moreover influence has brought him from humble beginnings to a position of prominence. His descendants to enjoy this unique privilege. John and his Wife Patricia were wed in 1924 after a brief engagement, a year later their first born son Ace, after his father's compatriot Ace Adams, was born. The first born scion of the Danger family would go on to many adventures of his own though he himself never sired any children of his own nor wed. Second born Rex Danger (1927-1993) was born two years later in 1927, Both boys at various points in their youth traveled and aided their father on his many adventures and had more than a few of their own, most of them chronicled in one or more of the properties relating to the Jungle Patrols later adventures. Patricia passed comfortably in her sleep in the mid eighties, Rex was killed in the Terminus invasion, his wife Debbie Wildey passed not long after the turning of the millennium. Less well known was their youngest sister Donna Danger-Dent, born in 1930 Donna was raised with much of the luxuries her fathers good fortunes afforded the family. The best schools, tutors, and eventually college led to Donna being the natural if unconventional choice for leading Danger International, among the first woman to serve in a position of power over a fortune five hundred company. Under her leadership the relatively small but lucrative business in diamonds and trade with Dakana her father's connections allowed grew into a potent economic force. Donna has two children of her own with husband Lester Dent(1928-1998) though when the time came for her to retire she passed the mantle of leadership to her niece Rachel Danger who continues to be CEO of Danger international to this day, though Donna remains a potent force in the family and Freedom City society. Rachel oversaw the expansion and division of Danger International into the trusts, corporations, and foundations that they are today. The remaining four Danger grandchildren have at times served in leadership roles within one organization of the family's holdings or another as well as the private sector. Many of the grandchildren have children of their own now, some few perhaps even grandchildren. John and Patricia also took on a young ward when his parents, friends of the Dangers from Johns travels, were caught in the crossfire of the brief 1935 revolution in Iran. Rahim Gilani traveled with John and his son Ace until the second world war broke out when he returned to Iran acting as a liaison between the Iranians and the european occupiers. Rahim never returned to the Danger family though he remained close to Ace and the family through the tumultuous post war years and marrying in Iran shortly after the 1953 coup he died under questionable circumstances shortly after the rise of the Islamic Republic. (OOC Notes: The grandchildren of Johnny Danger beyond Rachel Danger as well as the great-grand-children are purposely left vague to allow future players to connect with the family through those branches should they choose, Likewise the descendants of Rahim Gilani are left open for further development in the future) Danger International Danger International is privately held by the Danger family trusts. CEO Rachel Danger operates the overall strategy of the corporation and the organization of its component trusts, foundations and corporations. While on paper little more than a holding company for the assorted associated organizations it remains potent force in the business worlds of Freedom and beyond. Of late Rachel directs more of the resources towards the charitable works of the organization though the corporate arms remain profitable enough to support this expansion comfortably. As the CEO Rachel also acts as a sort of De Facto matriarch of the family utilizing familial influence and wealth to increase both. Her leadership has been long and she seems sharp still despite her age but many speculate she'll soon seek a successor like her aunt did before her. Danger International also functions as a high profile NGO using the trust and connections the Jungle Patrol built in many areas of Africa and South America to give local government and business leaders a wider voice on the international stage. John and Patricia Danger Foundation The sole holding John Danger maintains any direct control over as a sitting trustee the Danger Foundation is the charitable arm of the Danger Family and sees to assorted endowments, scholarships, grants and other direct charitable donations. Most of it's functions are fundraising and award ceremonies for assorted local or national causes from the arts to education and more. Danger Foundation soirees are generally lavish affairs bringing out a who's who of Freedom City luminaries and bringing in large dividends for the causes they promote. The Foundation was initially a labor of love of Patricia Danger who's outspoken calls for greater equity and social justice became the early hallmarks of the foundations works and continues to be the basis on which the foundation pursues its charitable works to this day. Danger Industries Danger Industries maintains a series of mines and processing facilities in the regions surrounding Johnny Danger's originally discovered diamond mine in Ghana. The company is held in dual ownership by it's workers and Danger International and enjoys highly progressive pay and benefit scales as well as facilities that act as a model for safe and profitable mineral extraction in Africa. Originally the mines were focused on diamonds earning the Dangers much of their initial fortune in competition with DeBeers and later as the mines began to play out and the diamond market tightened shifted to heavy metals and rare earths that form the foundation of much of modern technology. Working conditions are focused on worker safety and heavy investment in safety as well as infrastructure of hte mines has allowed for highly efficient extraction to local processing facilities where environmentally conscious purification and pollution controls are tested and implemented to create as sustainable a process as possible. Most of the management and implementation of these standards is done by the local workers and management who are after all the most invested in both the continued safe and profitable operation of the mines and limiting the dangers to the communities from the mines and processors. Danger International uses Danger Industries both as an example of sustainable worker friendly success as well as a supply chain for corporations seeking ethical sourcing in their supply chains. These international contacts allow Danger Industries to leverage the advantages of their product to higher valuation against those of less equitable mining concerns by evading wholesale clearing houses. Danger Media Danger Media is the rights holder for the many various Danger Family and Jungle patrol media properties as well as modern trademark and likeness rights management of the famed family. The primary holdings are the rights related to the Jungle Patrol serials and their associated secondary properties (animated features, comic books and graphic novels, radio plays, novelizations, and more modern film and television enterprises) as well as the Same for the assorted 'Ace Danger' branded material that was an outgrowth of the youths popularity in the Jungle Patrol media and his further adventures after going independant. They also manage the licensing for these rights with regard to toy and novelty merchandising and handle image management for the family to a lesser degree. In the past Danger media produced some material through an in house studio though that was shuttered during hte downturn in hero popularity amid the Moore years and now new productions are exclusively licensing arrangements. Danger Trade and Tourism Corporation Publicly held though, with the royal family of Dakana and Danger International holding over a third of the stock each, firmly under the control of Dakana and the Dangers the DTTC acts as the formal arm of the special relationship between Dakana and the Danger family. During the deeply isolationist era of the early to mid twentieth century Danger International was one of hte few companies able to make regular trade with the nation of Dakana, as the withdrawal from the world lessened with White Lion venturing forth to serve in the Freedom League the relationship was formalized with preferential agreements made for Danger International (and later the DTTC) to act as primary import/export company for Dakana. Now that trade with the nation is more open overall the DTTC is no longer the only game in town but the long standing relationship remains a strong benefit and they manage some of the most lucrative contracts as well as opening up and facilitating guided tourism in the intensely private nation. Danger Institute The core of the danger institute is based on the teams of scholars that Johnny Danger employed to investigate artifacts he returned with from his adventures. As times changed and the wholesale plunder of ancient artifacts became less the norm for archeology the Jungle Patrol shifted its focus to environmental issues and the scholarly pursuits grew into the Danger Institute during Rachels reorganization of Danger International holdings. The Danger institute today is split into three main branches and is largely self supporting based on revenue from a series of patents on Jungle Patrol gear that later became hte basis for assorted high end expedition equipment. The first Branch is a think tank devoted to environmental and global social sciences working to improve environmental policies in developing economies. The second is an expeditionary organization that funds and otherwise supports archeological expeditions as well as exploratory or natural sciences expeditions charting and cataloging the more extreme ecosystems on earth, such as deep sea exploration, arctic and deep wilderness surveys and excavation of sites of antiquity, Finally the Institute funds outside researchers in assorted fields through grant awards. Danger Financial Services Danger Financial Services holds the bulk of Danger Internationals wealth. Funds that once were tied up in assorted real estate and local ventures around the globe was consolidated under Rachels reorganization into a large investment fund to stabilize the economic backbone of the company. DFS is a publicly held with the Danger Family trusts and Danger International holding controlling interest, in the setup of the trusts voting rights go to the CEO of Danger International. DFS hold diversified investments on a global scale though the main areas of focus are investment in infrastructure for smaller developing nations and supporting local economies through an expansive and growing network of microloans. As well as steady profits, heavy investment in assorted global corporations allows DFS and its officers insight and valuable input into how many of the corporations in question do business in the developing world which is an unstated but well understood secondary goal of the financial institution. Use in Setting The Danger family is a collection of exceptionally wealthy and politically potent individuals, the global scope of Danger International pulls that wealth and influence out to a scale where it can act as a background for the Family and it's interests without becoming a stifling amount of wealth and influence in the narrower domain of Freedom city. It's global reach allows for many hooks tying international events to Freedom as well as serving as explanation for expeditions and explorations to far reaches of the earth or local heroes finding themselves working on international crisis's. Locally the philanthropic arms of hte business can serve both as set pieces for high society events as well as ways of handling aftermath of some adventures offscreen (The Orphans were saved and delivered into a program run by the Danger foundation) With local philanthropy focused often on the exceptional it also allows for reasons for those of more humble backgrounds to legitimately find themselves shoulder to shoulder with the elite of Freedom.
  5. Also feel free to do non-combat reaction posts before we go into rounds if anyone wishes.
  6. The cluster Riley had called out seemed unconcerned with either his scrutiny nor that of the security and police along the line they continued to shadow the teens though their angle of advance would intercept the claremont students well clear of hte approaching lobby doors. Thier demeanor did little to assuage concerns and already police and security were aiming to intercept and hopefully diffuse the situation before things grew out of hand. The crowds shouting seemed only to intensify as the students moved through the narrow cordon slurs and ambiguous threats as well as blame for any number of the world's ills were laid at the feet of the 'inhuman spawn of omega' the administrative assistant escorting them tried to calm the teens with guarantees that the protesters were vile but not violent. Rainas display fanned the flames as it were as the ostentatious display of superhuman power embolden and outraged the protesters who surged against the barricades their rhetoric growing more dire as they responded to hte implicit threat some physically shoving against the rails and officers manning the cordon. The police rounded on the protesters demanding they stand down the already tense situation rapidly spiralling out of the authorities control the crowd on the edge of rioting. Whirling the students escort's eyes were wide at Rainas action, "Ma'am please do not taunt or threaten the protestors it serves only to inflame the situation." she scolded though her voice was steady there was real fear in her eyes, of raina or the crowd was less clear. The temporary barricades that had been erected began to buckle under the angry crush of humanity the police distracted from the band of too purposeful protesters by the crowd's response. Even Riley had lost sight of them briefly as the mob shifted around them though he could make them out when they emerged from the crowd beginning to pull something from inside their heavy coats as they pressed against the barricades threateningly.
  7. And initiative time. The Crowd as a whole is largely tying up security and police response. Riley has pointed the threatening protesters out so no surprise round. 8. DC 30 search/notice to detect the hidden cameras covering the street and door extensively unlikely to be able to approach out of their field of view entirely though there are approaches with less exposure. DC 40 disable device check to get past the door without setting off alarms Door and Frame are Toughness 12 materials. DC 20 Search/notice to find a silent alarm wired to the upstairs clinic (DC20 Disable device to bypass it and DC20 Disable device to pick the lock on that door, or toughness 5 to bust it down.
  9. The location wasn't far though in an area of the Fens possibly even worse than most with few homes or businesses still inhabited, at least legitimately. The address in question led to a below street level entrance under a now defunct methadone clinic. The storefront above was boarded up but a newer sign indicated it would be reopened soon under new management. Across the street the rubble of a building destroyed in some super squabble months ago remained in place the owners having taken the insurance money and run. A few pieces of heavy equipment remained on the site perhaps part of a city revitalization sweep but the rubble remained a conspicuous reminder of how devalued the neighborhood was. Nighthawk and Woodsman arrived only moments before Kingsnake, staying to roads and trying not to draw attention delaying them slightly compared to the acrobatic vigilante's more direct course. The nearby streets were empty and the few buildings nearby that looked even remotely occupied contained only stores closed and securely gated for the night. As out of the way locations to disappear the dispossessed went it was near perfect. The comparative isolation of course also should allow the heroes ample time to observe the location unmolested should they choose. Next to the door marked with a laminated version of the flyer without a code written upon it was a simple keypad with a red light blinking above it awaiting it seemed a legitimate code. There was no overt signs of monitoring or security beyond the lock however the mechanism and door itself were, to those familiar with such things, much higher quality than what would be found in a defunct methadone clinic basement under normal circumstances. To those familiar with the area however the lack of vandalism was telling. This was either very new or somehow monitored by some sort of security force.
  10. Huang hadn't payed much attention to where they were headed as they wound through the streets of the west end, his family wasn't big on traditional transport so he didn't recognize most of the landmarks anyway. When they arrived he crawled out of hte van behind several of the others and stared at the ostentatious sign over their destination. He pinched the bridge of his nose and lowered his sunglasses over his eyes once more, "Espadas?" he asked mostly to himself, "She said hot teachers not my parents weird friends." he grumbled quietly but followed the others in maybe it was a guest instructor after all. He stood back as Raina introduced them all and winced slightly at the nicknames, "Yea and lookachu still with the nicknames and all that..." he schooled his features remembering that his parents were technically currently still trying to make nice with the order of the triad and their brood and let out a short breath, "Hi Mr. Espadas, Mrs. Espadas, How're Eden, Mia, and the twins?" he asked putting forth his better, if a bit rote, manners as he shucked his ever present trenchcoat to roll it and stuff it into a cubby as well. He slowly turned back to face the instructors and flashed his, and his father's, signature toothy grin, "Place looks great, Raina's had nothing but good things to say." he complemented and didn't even look that pained to do so.
  11. Mike slowly caught up, sped along by Alexs explanation certainly, "Ah, yes." he replied after a moment, "I suppose that does make sense I just wasn't really prepared for," He gestured to the opulent private box with a wave not really having the words. He pulled himself together well enough however and grinned at his fiance's words about the unpredictability of the entropic energies that had empowered them both. He took her hand once more to step through into the viewing area and sat at her side looking at the small number of empty chairs, "So are gonna have this all to ourselves?" he inquired uncertainly as that seemed quite the upgrade given his difficulty acquiring any tickets before calling upon Alexs employees. Thier conversation wound down as the house lights dimmed and the curtain rose on the play, Mike was not the fan Alex was though he had many fond memories of watching the film and original cast recording Alex had been fond of in their youth and the familiar refrains put him at ease. As the show progressed his hand found it's way to her knee as he lightly ran his thumb along the side in a companionable and for Mike rather forward manner more relaxed than he'd been in quite some time enjoying the show with Alex at his side.
  12. Huang steepled his fingers as the other students voiced their thoughts, he didn't take these trainings too seriously usually but he seemed this time to be carefully considering the dilemma placed before them. He finally shook his head after the secretary of defense's words, "No dice." he said flatly, "If Dimitris there we don't have a point of entry." he said with surety, "Maybe with prep time and a ritual we could punch through but He's not going to leave nukes bare to being portaled up on." The young magus explained knowingly, "And we'd be lucky if all he has is basic portal warding to block entry and raise alarms, chances are he'll have much worse set in place." He glanced to the group with a small frown, "We might be able to fly in under stealth but even that would be dicey little better than sending in special forces." Huang said firmly and let out a deep sigh. "However that isn't even the biggest hurdle." the teen replied fixing his gaze on the president, "You send us to hit soviet installations you open up a new front in this war and it heats up." Swinging his gaze to McNamara the dhampir continued, "And you know this, if our bases in Turkey got hit by Soviet Supers we'd be conscripted and sent in to do the same, we'd have a shooting war super on super and have to pray no one decides to start having everyone else start shooting too." Leaning back slowly Huang shook his head, "Best case you send us in and use our avowed independance to establish deniability, no backup if we're captured and possibly sacrificed on the altar of tenuous peace." he glanced briefly to his cohorts before looking back to the politicians with one brow raised, "Also gives you a handy excuse to demand all supers fall in line and serve since our 'independence' could be blamed for nearly bringing on the big one." Was any of it accurate, hard to say but it seemed pretty cut and dry politics as usual to the child of a vampire king.
  13. AEON Institute, Downtown Freedom 10:30 AM February 3rd 2016 Though the late January blizzard had for a time dampened the fervor of the ongoing 'Humans First' protests outside the Aeon Institute with the city emerging from it's blanket of snow they had returned with renewed spite for all the institute and it's 'Terminus Spawn' CEO. AEON security maintained a safety corridor for those seeking AEONs services but beyond the barricades the protesters had grown ten deep chanting and waving their signs proclaiming humanities preeminence over the earth and unkind variations on 'Go Home Freaks!' and worse. Pictures of the mangled bodies from the last Terminus Invasion as well as some few victims of recent super violence often attributed to those afflicted with Terminus Energy Mutation Syndrome were shaken in the faces of executive and frightened petitioner alike while slurs and occasional threats were lobbed at those making their way to the main entrance of the Institute. Thus far violence had been avoided thanks in large part to the restraint of the well trained security team deployed along the barricade and the help of the FCPD who were quick to remove any protesters who crossed the line from peaceful protest. None the less the air was electric with the tension and for those with insight into such things it was clear the situation was unsustainable without something snapping soon. The young group from Claremont made their way to the cordon where a security agent and a well bundled receptionist took down their names before beginning to escort them down the gauntlet of hateful people and their signs. The youth of these particular petitioners it seemed inflamed the protesting crowd yet further with the screams of "Freak!", "Devil Spawn!", and worse rising over the general din as the protesters pressed angrily against the barrier despite the nearby securities warnings to back away.
  14. If only Riley or Raina is there I'll edit tags. Anyone with danger sense ought have it tingling. DC 25 Notice Checks to see a more organized subset of the protesters seem to be moving purposely through the crowd a few rows back pacing the claremonters as they walk the line.
  15. Not bothering to change or leave behind anything of his own Huang gave Sarah a friendly thumbs up on the costume, "Evocative lotsa drama." he complimented then ambled into the simulator as it spun up the scenario of the day, or apparently a day long past. He seemed unconcerned with the antsy marine guards and peered at the room with interest as he tested the simulations limits expanding his senses to the supernatural realms to see how the simulation held up. He was not overly surprised it did not, the school being woefully ill prepared for much in the way of real magical instruction after all. However he well knew such illusory effects were not easy to maintain without an active practitioner at the helm so merely took a note to focus on his mundane senses for the time being. Once his inspection was complete he focused on the president, "Sir." he said with a lazy if technically polite greeting as he sunk into a plush chair. "Cuba? Tropical, no good will come of this." he noted to the other students and called out breaking immersion, "So relentless are we playing at being time displaced here or are we supposed to be natives of this simulated timestream?" he asked, "Like are we supposed to buy into that nonsense about not changing history butterfly effects and all that?"
  16. Huang shrugged to Robin, "No. Maybe a little." He scowled murmuring under his breath, "They're just uptight and full of rules and curfews and bring my daughter back to her home dimension before nightfall." he groused to himself but brightened a bit as the elevator began its descent and the sun vanished from view. Sliding his glasses off he shrugged to Sara, "Some people go for that spandex look for training really mostly depends what you're going for though." he explained and flashed Cathy a grin, "I'm sure there's no risk of that." he said confidently, "Mistakes are just exciting ways to learn!" he said with a bit too much vigor. He spared a raised brow for Rainas continuing complaints about his codename, "I'm sure we'll all manage." he said dismissively after all his name was awesome and mysterious perfect for the image he wished to portray and that was far more important for hero work than ease of pronunciation under duress.
  17. Mike nodded along to the explanation, "Huh." he finally remarked and raised a brow, "For like movies I guess?" he inquired and shrugged as it really didn't hold much importance and likely there were myriad applications he hadn't considered. As the conversation momentarily lapsed the waiter was quick to step in to inquire as to deserts and when Mike demurred citing scheduling saw to the bill. For his part Mike cracked a smile as the waiter left to run his card, "I know you feel there is always time for desert, I'll make it up for you later with something sweet I promise." he guaranteed oblivious to any double entendre. Taking Alexs arm after his card was returned Mike led her down the block at a leisurely pace accounting for his much longer stride like second nature now. Stopping before the theatre he smiled down to her at his surprise, "So I had to go through your assistant but I got us tickets." he explained with a wide smile as they turned to see the marquee proclaiming 'Slipper in the Rose' the show sold out far ahead of the short run in Freedom before the cast moved on to the West Coast. "I hope that's ok?" he inquired though he knew the answer before guiding her in and being led by the usher up to the trustees box the head usher turning to wave them in noting the look of confusion and concern on Mikes features added, "Complements of the Board of trustees Mr. Albright." he explained and turned taking his leave Mike's mouth agape, "Ah I'm no-" but the Usher was unconcerned with the protest and took his leave.
  18. Huang greeted Robin and Cathy with a small wave and frowned slightly at Raina's introductions, "Really? ôr-rŏb'-ôr-rŭs, the eternal serpent? infinite dragon? the cylcles of," he huffed and shook his head, "read a book!" he teased lightly back and flashed a smile to Sara at her correct pronunciation, "See first try even." he pointed out before turning his attention to the instructor of the moment, "Uhm wouldn't the correct response for a group other than the freedom league differ though?" he clarified as he settled with a sigh of relief into the welcome shade of the elevator. He glanced to his fellow students, "I mean we're not exactly a mirror of any incarnation of the league. Riley barely even drinks!"
  19. Huang loped across the field to the small stand of trees glaring at the world from beneath his dark glasses letting his trench coat flutter in the wind unfastened despite the chill of the winter air. The hour was too early for passing in the dhampirs opinion. He nodded greetings to Riley, "Hey hey so they send you on all these trips to the wild corners of campus?" He asked with a light laugh though the small stand of trees was about as close to wilderness as farettis did without duress. Turning he leaned down trying to catch the title of hte new girls book, "Hey there." He said a small smile creasing his lips just a hint of fang showing, "You're Sara right?" he confirmed, "Huang Faretti." he introduced as he took in the glow of magic around her with a small nod as he stored that information away for later. "Briefed?" he inquired of the young instructor, "It is definitely to early for briefs, can we do this whole cloak and dagger meet and greet thing somewhere less glaringly unpleasant?"
  20. The acrid antiseptic scent drowned out most scent at the injection site but there was no lingering scent to indicate Robin had been drugged, under his sensitive touch the vigilante could make out a firm nodule unlikely to be natural tissue however. This was proven accurate when Riley was able to dig the small radio tag out of her arm. It hadn't the power to transmit long distance anyone tracking her would have to patrol the streets seeking her out. It was placed shallowly, hastily not a long term solution, they'd likely be looking for her within a day. The flyer Robin had been given was festooned with the logo of the company on one side and a generous offer on the other with a small map and printed access code but few other instructions. Robins intuition was not incorrect this had only the most rudimentary semblance to legitimacy though most residents of the depressed neighborhood wouldn't be looking a gift horse in the mouth with these kinds of rewards on offer.
  21. Alright anyone want to get a post in here before we officially call it? And lemme know who wants to do a witness protection vs. Orion and I'll get that one started.
  22. One assumes they have classes in Mild Mannered Reporting.
  23. Raul looked back as she clarified her due snacks and nodded, "You got it." he assured her with a small wink and stepped out to fetch the requested items. He paused to quietly ask the girl out front, "We have an address on the cutie inside?" earning himself a self righteous glare at the suggestion as she snapped, "That information is confidential Raul." and handed the snacks over with a frown, "make sure it all gets to that young woman." she glowered and shook her head in disgust, "Men." she sniffed. Inside the technician made his way to Robins side with another injector of some kind in hand, "I'm sorry there seems to be an error we'll have to take a second sample." he said in a clipped tone only halfway asking permission before he sat and pressed the device to her arm and depressing the plunger on the back causing more pain than Rauls more tender approach. He took a step back afterwards and began to move toward the terminal, "I'm not supposed to do this." he intoned quietly, "But for your trouble here." he offered her a flyer with a code printed on it and a small map on the back, "We're conducting a random secondary interview, Participants are compensated with $100." he explained and returned to his seat where a printout of assorted medical information was printing. Handing it over as well as Raul returned he was once more absorbed in his terminal. Raul was all smiles as he entered the van again and freed robins arm handing her the food, payment, and printout, "Enjoy." he said quietly and wrote a phone number on the corner, "If you're hungry for anything else later." he suggested earning a derisive sniff from the technician.
  24. "No I'll have to add it to the rotation." Ellis replied with a smile before exchanging a few gems of his own, mostly in the north end like this and a few nearer his home in Kingston. He was at ease relaxing into his chair as they shared hot tips on kids menus, leftover storage, and where carried apple juice as opposed to fruit punch. "It is." he agreed as he set his own cup aside and sat up a bit straighter, "Well I'm glad you did come." he said with a gentle smile, "And yea, it's a bit odd to try to jump back into this whole world." He agreed easily and grinned, "But if there is one thing I have learned in my time with you it is that the odd is commonplace for you." he joked lightly and gentled as he glanced down at the table a slight blush rising to his cheeks, "I enjoy your company a great deal as well Stesha."
  25. History The Jungle Patrol formally traces back to 1927 when the Patrol that would grow to international fame first came together and formally used the Jungle Patrol Moniker as immortalized in Season 1 Episode 1 of 'The Adventures of the Jungle Patrol!' serial. The basis for hte organization of course was not so watershed an event. Central to the Jungle Patrol was of course Johnny Danger, explorer, adventurer, and renaissance man extraordinaire. Johnny was born on the cusp of the twentieth century in 1899 on a ranch in montana. The family ranch was lost in conflict with a local cattle baron and Johnny was taken in by a local band of the Crow his family had good relations with before he reached his teens. Hard life in the frontier state and then among the tribe taught the young man much about wilderness survival and spurred in him a strong independent streak. As he grew older he wandered the states doing odd jobs before finally joining the army when old enough and serving in the Great War when America entered the conflict. It was while serving that he first made the acquaintance of Ace Adams a fellow westerner and a hotshot pilot, the two remained close after the close of hte war as Ace entered a career as a barnstorming pilot and Johnny began to travel the world. In his travels he made many friends and contacts in every port and frontier fort he found himself in, Aiding Huang "Hong Kong Harry" Chun in recovery of a lost family heirloom, sailing the caribbean with the fast talking Billy Browning in search of sunken treasures, and working on the small farm in surrey of Professor Arlan Jones. In 1927 he and Ace found themselves stranded in sub-saharan africa after a particularly rocky 'landing' in a thunder storm while seeking the fabled mines of Dakana. It was here that they met Dendaji, a Dakanan Native exiled after his negligence allowed a band of Thule society sorcerers to steal several precious Daka Crystals. In return for his aid getting them out of the jungles surrounding Dakana Johnny and Ace took up his cause to chase down the sorcerous cult in a chase that spanned five continents and saw them Joined by Hong Kong Harry, Baby Face Browning, and Arlan Jones as well as his daughter Jezebel. Through wit, grit, and no small measure of luck the soon to be jungle patrol managed to corner the Thule Sorcerers on a mediterranean Island and steal back the Crystals thwarting the Thule ritual. Returning to Dakana they declared themselves the Jungle Patrol and earned 'Doctor Daka' an end to his exile and themselves a favored position as rare outsiders welcome in Dakanas borders. The Jungle Patrol continued to operate primarily in Africa seeking lost treasures and protecting allied tribesmen from the machinations of post colonial interests. The aging Arlan Jones left the patrol in 1929 though his daughter stayed continuing to maintain and improve on the marvelous feats of engineering the Professor had built for the Patrol. In 1930 shortly after the discovery of the diamond mine that would make him one of the wealthiest men in the world Johnny began to bring his young son Ace on his globetrotting adventures and had earned himself and the Jungle patrol a reputation as a team that could get things done wherever in the world they needed doing. From ancient tombs to forbidden vales, Hidden monasteries to otherworldly wildlands the jungle patrol explored seeking and preserving artifacts, treasure, and lost peoples and civilizations. Their adventures came to be chronicled in the 'Adventures of The Jungle Patrol!' serials later renamed 'Johnny Danger and the Jungle Patrol' where the irascible Ace Danger first grew to fame. When the tides of war started to sweep across the world the Jungle Patrol came often to the aid of the Allies in campaigns in Africa and Southeast Asia in particular with daring rescues and sabotage behind enemy lines. With a war on the Patrol spent more and more time fighting Thule, or Green Dragon agents than their traditional exploratory adventures. Ace Adams fell to an assassin's blade meant for Jezebel Jones near the close of the war and Johnny Danger grew more absorbed with the day to day running of Danger International and it's many works in the aftermath of the second world war. Other than occasional press conferences when promoting a new product or similar endeavors the Jungle Patrol was in effect no more. The remaining members continued to work together though in pursuit of their own interests now. Membership Johnny Danger: The leader of the Jungle Patrol was a two fisted adventurer and world traveler before he even began the famed group. A master of survival, linguist, bare knuckle brawler, crack shot, and all around expert in adventure Johnny Danger was the glue at the core of the Jungle Patrol. He was a decisive and caring leader and knew his friends better than they knew themselves. This knowledge payed dividends not only in loyalty but also in utility as his keen tactical mind could weave their skills into exactly the plan needed to overcome nearly any objective. After the death of Ace Adams and the close of the war he disbanded the Patrol officially and shifted his Focus to Danger International, his sprawling corporation and world wide commercial empire tuned to his priorities of protecting indigenous peoples from exploitation, the environment from destruction, and the world from, he hoped, war. His family peddled his fame and influence into a lasting dynasty and legacy of good works around the world. Ace Adams: Johnny Dangers best friend and closest confidant the expert pilot and self proclaimed fastest draw in the skies (thanks to a particularly famed shootout with a nazi operative aboard a zeppelin) was Johnnys constant companion even before the patrol was formed. He was the de facto second in command as well as a master of vehicular feats of daring. From automobile to airplane, submarine to jet pack if it had a wheel, stick, or rudder he'd get it where it needed to be. He was most famous for his rocketry pack, an invention of the jones, as well as his twin .45 revolvers, Truth and Justice. According to the serials he was one leg of the love triangle between himself, Jezebel, and Billy, though he had promised Arlan to look after her and refused anything untoward, at least as far as the serials, comics and later cartoon reprisals indicated. Ace died at the end of the second world war, his death one catalyst for the dissolution of the Patrol. He was unwed and to public knowledge had no children though he served as a mentor and role model for many adventurous youngsters. Huang 'Hong Kong Harry' Chun: Huang, or Harry as he is still occasionally called, is an archaeologist and expert in antiquities as well as master martial artist. He served both as muscle for the team and as an expert in many mysterious artifacts, legends, and lost languages on the Patrols adventures. He holds a doctorate in archeology specializing in the far east and continues to lecture at prestigious universities the world over between visits to digs. His skilled fists and feet got them out of almost as many scrapes as his keen mind puzzling out the secrets of ancient tombs or hidden temples. Thanks to a combination of clean living and likely some mystical intervention the elderly Proffessor Chun continues to travel and teach to this day. He has many students of antiquities as well as a small selection he has agreed to teach his martial arts. Additionally he has a large family spread between Hong Kong where he resides and the U.S. though no children of his own, claiming he and his wife just never had the time. Dendaji “Doctor Daka”: Dendaji is a Dakanan by birth and trained in the mystic ways of that secretive country as well as the intricacies of Daka technology. His expertise and innovation in technical and biomedical advances for the Patrol led to the development of their famed sleeper rounds as well as many other devices and artifacts that have saved the day on more than one occasion. While a more cerebral member of the group his high tech devices and ancient Dakanan fighting techniques proved to be an great asset tot he team it the field as well as the lab. After the Patrol dissolved he returned to Dakana to continue his research and development of daka based medical devices and non-lethal defensive technologies. He remains a friend of the Danger Family but rarely leaves his homeland now. the secretive nation has revealed little about his personal life after the Jungle Patrol. Billy “Baby Face” Browning: A con man and artiste of the slightly shady deal Baby face was the friendly face and fast mouth of the Patrol. Though Ace would often say the mans mouth got hem into more trouble than out of Billy was a valuable member of hte team. He was a master of disguise as well as skilled orator and diplomat. When the Patrol ran afoul of official problems wherever they operated it usually fell to Billy to smooth the way. A consummate ladies man he was however denied that which he most ardently sought, Jezebel who had eyes only for Ace Adams. He managed to peddle his fame and contacts from the Jungle Patrol into a position with the US diplomatic corps and has served as a sometimes Ambassador to Dakana though his less than diplomatic approach to US politics has had that position stripped and reinstated enough times to make one dizzy. None the less even at his advanced age (thanks to living primarily in Dakana with full access to their medical advances) he is invaluable to any diplomatic efforts with the hidden nation. Rumors swirl that he may have wed a Dakanan lady of means as well though as with all news of the hidden nation it is never certain how much truth there is to such. Arlan and Jezebel "Jalopy" Jones: the Jones are the creators and innovators behind most of the large scale devices used byt he Jungle patrol from vehicles like the Jungle Jeep, to Ace Adams rocket pack, to more strange devices still. Arlan was primarily an absent minded professor and not long for work on the field however his daughter Jezebel fell in love with the excitement, and Ace Adams, of life with the Jungle Patrol. "Jalopy" often stated she could build a zeppelin from coconuts and banana leaves given time, and according to at least one famed episode of the 'Ace Danger Boy Adventurer Hour!' did so on at least one occasion. Though she had deep feelings for Ace Adams he never seemed to return them and she had eyes for no others. After the Patrols disolution she returned to her family farm to continue her fathers work on various devices supporting herself off occasional patents though most of her devices never saw the light of day. She passed still unwed the last of her family and left the farm and her inventions to be overseen by Danger International. By her wishes they have not been made public and are kept secure at the Farm where employees of Danger International act as caretakers of both property and prototypes. Chim-Chim: The ubiquitous ape companion of Jezebel since she saved him from poachers in his infancy. Chim-Chim was trained to fetch tools and acted as a sort of mascot for the team until an accident breaching the power core on one of Doctor daks wondrous devices somehow granted him human like intelligence. He continued to serve Jezebel after she retired to her family farm and predeceased her after a long and productive life. No formal attempt to recreate the circumstances of Chim Chims sentience were made though other accidents or even secret experiments might have managed the same or similar results. Ace Danger: Johnny Dangers first born was raised in the family business and was an ever popular child star of the serials as well as a darling of the media. He traveled into his teen years with his father and always managed to find himself in more unusual circumstance than even his famed elders. Ace has gone on to have a successful career as a spy, sometimes soldier, and more recently international hero. Along his many adventures he was blessed, cursed, or granted eternal life and dependant on who you ask is intent on making hte most of it or frittering it away on frivolities. Rex Danger: Before Ace even left the Jungle Patrol second born Rex had started to accompany the patrol on more and more adventures. The spitting image of Johnny Danger Rex was the all american red blooded adventurer hero rex served as a sort of replacement for Ace in the last years of the Jungle Patrol but between the danger and secrecy of the Patrols wartime operations never really gained the fame of his elder brother while traveling with the Patrol. Rex like many of the heroic minded residents of Freedom perished in the Terminus invasion of 1993, he is survived by three children including Rachel Danger, the youngest, and the current CEO of Danger Industries. Rahim Gilani: The ward of Johnny danger and close friend of Ace Danger in their childhood left the Dangers to return to Iran as an adult. though he had many adventures with the Jungle Patrol he managed to marry well in the liberal climate of the Shah's Iran. He passed away not long after the revolution. Legacies Most of the Jungle Patrol had descendants or at least those they might have trained or equipped as described in the individual member descriptions. As well there is alway the opportunity for someone, most likely connected to Danger International, to try and make a new Jungle patrol for the new world fighting injustice and exploitation of land or people around the fringes of civilization.
