  1. Need DC 12 Toughness checks from Seahawk and Miracle girl, DC 18 Toughness check from El Huracan who was not strapped in as he did his air control (Very heroic self sacrificing) Also a Notice check from Miracle Girl. The Leak isn't like super fast but time is of the essence when it comes to getting free of the wreck.
  2. The plane was fighting her but the skilled pilot at the stick had them cruising in at the perfect angle as the last words of the Lords Prayer tumbled from Miracle Girls lips Seahawk called for the 'landing gear' and El Huracan put all he had into the air under the plane. There was a firm jolt as the plane hit the water and almost skipped across the surface of the bay the structure of the plane groaning with the jolt and strain. The sounds of metal straining and groaning as the plane settled into the choppy seas filled the cabin as the passengers cried out in fear at the impact as everyone was flung down into their seats then straining against the belts as the jetliner shakes and jolts to a rocky stop. As the plane came to a rest it rocked ever so slightly in the seas and groans and snaps from inside the structure spoke to the unusual strains of the landing but the Cabin seemed to hold together and despite a few groans as people checked themselves over the passengers seemed largely unharmed thanks to the Heroes efforts. In the cockpit Seahawk could make out the many alarms slowly going silent as various systems failed under the strains. Most worrying at least one fuel tanks was registering leakage after the impact and the downed avionics system hadn't allowed her to jettison the fuel.
  3. Huang draped his arm lazily over Sets shoulder to trace along the toned bicep of the youthful god and gave a small shrug, "I surely have no idea." he said with a wicked grin, "I don't put them anywhere they are not wanted." he said pulling the smaller teen against him slightly and letting out a pleased sigh at the hand tracing along his chest. "I am very glad to hear that." the dhampir replied his voice gone low with restrained desire. He absently traced one finger along the back of Sets hand where it rest against his shirt and foxe at the question swallowing uncertainly, "I, ah, was concerned I'd not get a chance to make it up to you." he said smoothly and bit his lip hesitant to admit any territorial feeling he may have harbored, most did not like to be treated as even treasured possessions or so he was told. He imagined that went double for a god. Huang's hand slid into motion once more to slide across Sets chest and down his sculpted abs to rest on the heliopians waist, "I have been most looking forward to that."
  4. "Little of this little of that." Huang replied easily and sunk down on to the couch with an inviting smile, "They called it a medical exception but either they're afraid I'll not be able to control myself," He waved his hands at the in his opinion absurd fear, "Or that those of a sanguine persuasion tend to be a bit territorial." He added with a shrug as he couldn't really say that was untrue. He patted the couch beckoning hte god to join him but leaving space for Set to sit as near or far as he chose. At the heliopians question his eyes looked down and he unconsciously sucked on one fang, "Ah fine all fine." he said a little too quickly still embarrassed about his previous foible. He looked back up a Set, "I, uh, have much better handle on the situation now." the dhampir was nervous but putting up a good front. "I am confident I traced down the issue and am prepared now there are many unforeseen outcomes of my ancestry." he assured him frankly, "Regardless we won't have a repeat of before." he said being sure not to place expectations on what exactly might go on today. Tilting his head Huang added quietly, "You are well after," he paused uncertainly, "everything?" he was less concerned about any actual injury so much as the rather awful names the godling had been called by his father.
  5. Huang met Sets kiss seamlessly with an admittedly forced calm as he relaxed into the shorter teen, there was no hesitance in it as he brushed his cheek along the smaller teens as the kiss broke, "Glad you're here now." he whispered as they parted. The taller boy let his arm hang casually on the godlings shoulder as he looked over the room and gave a rough shrug. The rooms furnishings were simple enough. The sturdy bed over the matching dresser and the desk that sat adjacent was of the type found across colleges and boarding schools like ikea but far more robust material. The bed made but rumpled a single window with shades drawn to block out the vile sky fire. Being granted a 'medical' exemption Huang had a single with an exceptionally dated couch opposite the bed and a large coffee table that looked to be covered in signatures, some ink some carved dating back through the years it had been in residence in the school as claremont academy and before. The dhampir smiled lightly at the faint praise, "Well it's not home but it is a place to lay my head with minimal interference." he said with a laugh, "I lucked out, no roomie so I get more space and the couch and table." he nodded to the heavy slab that looked as if it had been cut from a single tree.
  6. The plane lurched and the muddy controls strained under Seahawks grip as she brought the jetliner around to a bearing taking it toward the bay. It was going to be a near thing to make it to clear waters with the speed lost in the turn. Hopefully El Huracan was right about being able to cushion the impact as she was going to have to come in steeper than she'd like to not risk stalling once they cleared the city proper. There was more than a little panic among the passengers of course as Miracle girl swept through the cabins to ensure everyone was secured. Dr. Warfield returned to his seat and buckled in looking with concern to the firestarter, "Do you have a way to secure her safely?" he asked uncertainly as he braced for impact. Miracle girl was able to secure the knocked out attendant and locate the remaining flight attendant in the economy section who was able to take over for hte care of the injured member of the flight crew. Soon all was as ready as it could be and all that was left were the few terrifying moment before splashdown. The passengers were oddly quiet, low mumbled prayers and holding onto loved ones saying possible last goodbyes the terror of moments earlier replaced by an almost despondent calm in the face of their fate.
  7. You don't manage to pick him out. You do however notice the KO'd Flight attendant in the galley that had not yet been buckled in and get him squared away safely.
  8. Go ahead and give me a notice check heritage
  9. Ok for simplicities sake and to not have to worry too much about the details that don't matter Red just use Extra effort and describe what you want for how you're protecting the passengers. I'll factor that in with the potential injuries to passengers when you all hit the water. It'll be a bit of a rough 'landing' but between an Ace Pilot and Air Controller I think you all can get people mostly safe into the water. If I don't have a post in from Heritage I'll push us forward again tonight before I head to bed.
  10. Huang held the portal as Set melodramatically passed through the arcane gate. As the chaotic deity crossed hte threshold Huang offered an apologetic shrug to Sekhmet and slashed one hand down closing the portal before she too could cross through. He puffed out a breath as the workings was completed trying his best to cover for the strain it had put him under. He ambled towards Set then with a pleased smile, "Hey you." he intoned and reached out to the godling eyes twinkling with mischievous glee, "long time no see." which wasn't even a little bit true but huang didn't care in the slightest. Pulling Set into a warm embrace the teen smiled down at him quite pleased with how the afternoon was shaping up, "So what do you want to do handsome?"
  11. Pretty much packed yes. There might be a few empty seats but to the quick visual check bassically full.
  12. Huang was straightening a few things in his room in preparation for company that didn't need to see his soiled clothing piled on the floors and quickly shoved the offending articles into the closet before picking up his phone at the tone of a new message. He let out a sharp breath at the reply and kicked himself for perhaps overstating the casual ease with which such was attempted. He pondered for a moment and nodded to himself as he recalled a spell that might do the trick, it wasn't as familiar as some, more taxing certainly but worthwhile none the less. He quickly searched through Sets instagram feed for a good shot of the layout of the godlings living quarters and the view from the window as well as the all important location data and concentrated on fixing the location and layout in his mind as he began the low chant to join the locations by a portal through the realms beyond, Hopefully her divine nature wouldn't interfere but that was hardly his fault. "Lig V Krokhu dni V okamihu" he intoned the words rolling out and forming the frame of the portal as it slowly spun open a gothic arch in the middle of the room through which Set could see Huang chanting as he maintained the workings of the spell and beckoned to the youthful god with a dimpled smile full of promise. What harm could come of it? The portal only looked a little steeped in blood magics man was not meant to dabble in.
  13. "So are some people." Huang pointed out with a small smile, "That's why people should focus more on the what thena the who." he opined with a shrug as he too signed in. Making his way to the bulletin board he took pretty much the opposite tact waving and smiling with an overly polite, "Laadies." as they walked past. Armored in his idiom he didn't have to worry about the slings and arrows of frightened looks and uncertainty. He glanced to Riley and shook his head, "I mean I know you know this, but this isn't your world." he pointed out carefully, "I just mean the rules are different, not that different on the scale of things but different none the less." he shrugged lightly and slowly plucked staples, "You know, you're not a psych case but that doesn't mean you're right either." he said quietly, "But if you go around acting like this is that world you are gonna look crazy and eventually maybe make yourself crazy." he offered with a shrug, "It's not easy, but there are benefits to things here," he smiled slightly, and eyed the other boy, "Robin for instance." he teased gently.
  14. In response to discussion from chat this is here for posterity. So air control as I mentioned can ease the planes descent and help with pilot checks. That's what the air cushion effect on the whole plane would be. Power Stunting some AOE and or affects others effect could instead focus the protection on all the people in the plane with a descriptor of your choice (Air bags without the bag! or whatever) there are plenty of options and I'm not sticking super firm to damage rules for the passengers as the are all effectively minions thus lethal would kill large numbers of them right off so it's less a matter of the numbers you're going for than how you're utilizing your power to affect all the passengers. Given you have 23PP to work with on a power stunt Immunity 10 (Impact Damage [Falls, Knockback, Slams]; Flaws: Limited [Half]) [5PP] with Burst Area, and Affects others extras bringing it to 15PP and some progression to get everyone in the plane would fit well within the PP allotment and could be descriptored by just increasing air density throughout the area at the moment of impact to effectively cushion everyone or something similar. And Bluff or diplomacy check certainly can be used for crowd control though you would need to be on the intercom for everyone to hear you.
  15. I laid out the DCs and relative risks in my OOC post above. A safe landing is gonna be DC 35, A minimally damage water landing DC 20 but risks injuries and potentially casualties dependant on circumstance, Keeping it up in the air for a full reboot is DC 25 then you can pull up and land normally. It's a bit abstracted but take it as the circumstance given the state of the plane at shut down given elevation, banking, speed, direction , etc. IE you're not over the water and at your speed and direction smooth water landing isn't going to really happen Seahawk is a good enough pilot to recognize the risks inherent in those courses of action. If you want to have Miracle Girl and or El Huracan Get out and push/add lift with powers etc they can do so as an aid action on your Pilot checks for any of the above but neither of them have the carry capacity to hold up the plane on their own.
  16. Seahawk take an HP for the avionics reboot trashing the controls. A Knowledge(Technology) DC 20 check could get things back online faster if anyone has the skill. Otherwise Seahawk can try to keep the bird in the air for the five minutes or more it takes for the reboot to complete at Pilot DC 25, Try to land it unpowered and with half the controls and the engines offline at Pilot DC 35, or try to crash land in the bay rather than the city at a Pilot DC 20. Crashing in the bay will likely have injuries and possibly casualties but be fast and well within Seahawks skill mastery, Crashing on land would be disastrous as you're over the city and casualties both on the ground and on the plane would be high. Most of the instrumentation is offline during reboot, As are the engines which are computer controlled and a fair bit of the flight controls are fly by wire at this point and offline. Landing gear can be manually engaged by Miracle girl and/or El Huracan, and Seahawk has basic flap controls still via unassisted hydraulics so they are sluggish and require her super strength to effectively use but the plane isn't just hurtling to the ground out of control it just feels that way to the untrained aboard.
  17. Dr. Warfield let out a slow relieved breath at the announcement of the planes eminent return and looked up to El Huracan at the heroes question then blinked and slowly stood, "oh yes of course..." he murmured and moved to make his way toward the cockpit. Seahawk disengaged the autopilot and flipped the intercoms to life to announce her seizing control of the plane with practiced ease, the controls under her hands began to guide the plane to an approach vector when suddenly the screens flashed blank before bootlogs slowly began to scroll up the tiny terminals. The controls grew sluggish under her hands and the plane lurched as the ailerons locked up with the shutdown of the avionics computers, seconds later the engines stuttered to quiescence the computer assisted throttle controls cutting them as the reboot took hold. Warfield stumbled and the passengers began to threaten panic as the plane lurched and those near the wings started to call out in fear, "I think the engines stopped!"
  18. He's dead Jim! Both the copilots are deceased. Apparently burned from inside out maybe? Or they inhaled fire or something.
  19. "uh yea." Huang replied nervously and picked up his bucket, "Lets do that." he agreed and followed Riley towards the more populated regions of the campus. He let out a sigh at the question he really had gone a bit overboard with his ranting but too late now to take it back. "Kinda?" he suggested warily, "I mean My dads a vampire, so that doesn't win a lot of friends to start with." he explained with care, "And there's history of squabbles with other heroes about that and," Huang shrugged, "It's like I said, people here words like that or any other supposed Monster and immediately assume someone is evil." he crabbed with a sigh, "Lots of my parents old friends thought he had tricked my mom when they found out I guess." he hadn't heard the bloody details but they'd been hinted at, "After that they stuck with other heroes that were more fringe, Deadhead, Atlas, people that other heroes and the public got the willies over." he smirked, "And all the creepy guys hanging out together did wonders for all of their reputations among the shining heroes of Freedom."
  20. Looking at Sets reply Huang smiled cheekily, "Ha that went well." he barked quiet pleased and glared at the wild eyed tome on the far end of hte bed, "What do you know anyway." he mused as he shoved the book back into the jumbled mess of his space in the void. He picked his lips and sent off a fast reply, Do I need to portal over and steal you away?
  21. Huang looked down at the phone and grinned at the reply well that was a special treat. He picked it up and quickly fired off his response. you are full of surprises And it's not even my birthday he looked down once more biting his lip as he debated to go further, that solves that problem Claremont Academy EJ Carter Dorm rm 121 He typed quickly and hit send before he flung the phone to the far side of the bed staring at it like it was dangerous viper as he waited the gods reply
  22. Huang stared down at his phone and continued to stare. The ominous three dots blinked back at him like a quiet but elegant and minimalist taunt he set it down and picked it up several times in the short time it took Set to reply. Huang let out a breath that he may have been holding the entire time, not needing to breath made the whole baited breath thing a bit more extreme in some cases. Reading over the message he stared down at it trying to puzzle out the meaning long enough it likely caused the god some unintentional angst of his own. Are fine? He finally replied and stared at it for a moment longer, I said nazis not smart LOL
  23. Mike was distracted from the helms vague familiarity and any concerns about a private army by the prospect of food and his stomach let out a quiet gurgle of protest at only absurd levels of alcohol and barnuts to feed it this afternoon, "Oh Kung-, no had enough peanuts at the bar, uhm beef and broccoli?" He suggested glancing around unsure how communal a thing it was family style was always hard like that. Mike smiled proudly at the recognition of Alexs achievements then frowned at the course language those close to him recognizing a thoroughly mild chastising on the way as he opened his mouth, "Lan-" he stopped and looked to Alex for a long moment before nodding apparently arrested in his scolding by the more politic of the pair. He blushed slightly and shrugged, "Ah, yea, they do some amazing stuff for the community." he agreed recovering quickly by Mike standards, "So." the big man stalled gathering his thoughts, "You're working with Mark, Trevor and Erin on the new Liberty League?" he glanced to Mark and Trevor as he wasn't certain if it was New or not in the name and shrugged, "Or Liberty League." he smiled, "I always let Mark and Alex do the talking back in the day for a reason." he confided surprising no one.
  24. Huang realized the speed with which he was moving right as Riley spoke and dropped the pliers as he stood and slowly turned looking nervous. This is why one shouldn't let anger steer the ship. "Uh it was nothing." he murmured, "I didn't mean." he struggled to cover for his lapse and leaned back against the now empty board and shook his head slowly, "What?" he scowled down at the other boy, "First off my chances of getting in your pants has no bearing on my opinion of your family." he said rolling his eyes, "I don't even know them but I can guess the type." he grumbled sourly, "For the greater good ridding the world of the evil monsters stalking the night preying on the living." he mocked in a poor vincent price impression. Huang huffed blowing a stray hair lock of hair from his eyes, "And I don't know what craphole you came from but-" he paused for a long moment then, "world?" he murmured, "So you're not like from some long line of blackula hunters or something?" he asked honestly surprised, "You're like from one of the armageddons?" he slowly put together and looked down at his feet, "Sorry, it's just." he shook his head, "My family has taken a lot of crap from these so called heroes, and I thought this was another of Summers damn mind games sticking me with some damn hunter." he grumbled, "But you're right I don't know you." he shrugged, "So sorry your crappy world didn't have capes to save the day." he shrugged, "They are not all they're cracked up to be here either."
  25. Huang followed nodding through the first bit the level of strife human tribalism caused was not completely unfamiliar background radiation of his life. The neo-anarchist socialism wasn't completely new either anyone with an internet connection and willingness to look at the bottom half of hte internet had heard one form of this rant or another before. "Well yea but how do tell who the real-" then it went into the whole monster thing and Huang clamped his jaw shut and turned to pull staples angrily for a long moment as he simmered then turned to glare at Riley, "See that's exactly why all the movies point out the real monster is man. Because you all just assume some absurd binary, Us versus Them, with us or against us." he barked and shook his head, "Because humans can't be assed to work together without world ending armageddon on the line and even then they'll pull up and lock out the outsiders so they can scrape by in some cave or ridiculous fenced compound like a bunch of damn cattle in a pen." he stared Riley down for a long moment, "The only way humans beat the monsters is when they become more monstrous, and not for food, or lack of control but because they decide they are better and more worth saving then whatever else. THAT is why man is the real monster." He turned back to the board then and started pulling the staples out again his eyes glinting red slightly as his hand started to move faster as he spoke, "Lets just get this over with, I thought you had a bad rap, maybe different idea of who or what was ok but maybe you are just another racist murderer like my parents warned me about." he grumbled as his hand became a blur his vampiric speed plucking the last staples in under a minute.
