  2. So if you all wish to continue to investigate whats going on here or help with the injured or flee the scene or anything go ahead and post to that effect. Since we're out of rounds Black Knight can come too and help out if Sea Devil and Phantasmo don't head out immediately.
  3. Huang glared down at his phone as he read through Sets reply. "Dammit" he cursed at the empty room and glowered for a long moment. The edge of wrongdoing had seemed like a plus, apparently when one was a Godling wandering prime on dubious grounds angering The Phantom was not flirty fun. Scale had always been difficult for Huang now he'd have to walk it back in a non-lame fashion. Staring down thought for a short while then carefully typed out his reply. Mom tells everyone he grows on you Though technically he was the one to forbid contact soooo Options remain open?
  4. Huang winced as the admonishment over the snake reference was less than well received. He looked down at the phone for a long moment glad he did not reply too quickly as the message that followed was of far more interest than continued snake jokes. He tapped out several messages without sending then set his phone down and stared at it like particularly tricky math problem to be solved before retrieving it to type his more restrained response. Well My Parents did forbid it So amenable doesn't even begin to cover it Where do you want to meet?
  5. You can punch your way in. A gun is like a rank 4-5 attack a rank 10 can make short work of the door it just won't necessarily be easy to pop the latch in one hit More beating it down with super punches. Or combined efforts of super-strength and wind powers to break it there are options. Surprise might not really be one of them these doors are designed to NOT have the pilots taken by surprise.
  6. Well The doors open inward but are braced and latched in more than one place. There is a keypad for entry but you need the code (Most require a code then confirmation from within the cockpit or a special code that alerts the occupants of impending entry) So you can't really just pop the latch like with a normal door. You can hit it with your strike to try to break it but the doors are built to be bullet proof so that might not be super easy. You could also try to disable device the locking mechanism. Oh and it is latched and locked they don't really stay unlocked at all.
  7. Huang rolled his eyes at both of them and stalked off toward his room at the commandment turning to glare back at them, "I WAS trying then there were cultists summoning a greater aspect of Ba'al!" he screamed and stormed into his room slamming the door hard enough to make the hinges screech in complaint and the jamb to crack and threaten to splinter which was also new...
  8. and DC 22 Notice checks from the heroes If you make it you notice the door to the cockpit open and close through the milling crowd.
  9. As the flames around her were snuffed out Firestarters eyes grew wide her face contorted with rage, "How Dar-" she bellowed cut off mid sentence by the sudden spinning kick form Miracle girl. Her head snapped to the side and for a long moment it seemed as if she had shrugged off this mighty blow as well. She looked at miracle girl meeting her eyes before they crossed rolling back into her head before she collapsed like a marionette with its strings cut. A tangle of arms and legs streaked with soot and bare scraps of charred polyester the only thing somehow preserving her modesty. Around the heroes the crowd erupted in cheers lunging from their seats to congratulate and thank the victorious heroes for saving them the doctor looked down at the charred remains of his briefcase and then to the villain silently mouthing, "Why Jenny?"
  10. Dauntless looked down at Raina with clear concern and nodded to Anibal, "Across the hall on the left." he said succinctly and offered a nod of encouragement for the young man to see to the upset young lady before turning to Riley to try and offer some explanation and sighing at Robins anger the usually good natured metal giant was dour and grim as he watched Riley take his leave and looked to Robin earnestly, "You're free to go as well Ms. Chevalier." he intoned quietly, "The tests may not have been as thoroughly vetted as they ought," he offered weakly though clearly trying to assuage the worst of her rightful outrage at the manipulations. He looked to her with gentle eyes, "Please make sure Riley knows as well that I or Dr. Marquez are always available if he needs to talk, and-" he shrugged, "For what it is worth I am sorry this has been, trying, I understand the difficulties adjusting to places so different from what we are accustomed too."
  11. Ellis smiled along with her story sparing a sympathetic sigh at the tabloid divorce though eh allowed her to move on unhindered it seemed a poor choice of conversation for a date, erm not a date, either way. "Oh I imagine it is." he agreed, "And I haven't so grand a hidden life." he explained humbly, "Though that is one area my children don't have to worry much about at least." he offered with a mischevious smile, "I figure its the least I can do with what these powers have cost them that they should reap some of the benefits at least." he stared into his cup for along moment before meeting her gaze again, "You are right though they should at least know and then we can figure out if they want more or less of all that in their lives." he added with a laugh, "I suspect more given their fascination with everyone at the party."
  12. That'll hit, Toughness save DC 24 1d20+4 = 9; Fail by 15 KO'd Heri said not doing KB for risk of passengers

  14. The glowing fist slammed into the fiery villain with thunderous force the flames around the impact point flaring bright and scorching hot as the psychic energy sheathing her fist was burned away. Firestarter seemed nearly unphased by the mighty blow though it did drive her a step forward as she sneered at Seahawk, "I've got bigger fish to fry." she growled and flung a hand behind her to send a scorching blast into wakefield's chest the bag clutched there bursting into flames and burning to ash leaving a smouldering stain on the doctors shirt as he cried out in pain and terror, "Noooo Jennifer what have you done!" he screamed as he patted out the flames, "We are just trying to help your kind." he groveled as he continued to back away, "You can stop this!" The flaming woman laughed at the begging and outrage, "Silly human, we are the cure to the disease of your weakness." she spat and turned to the heroes before her, "The Fellowship shall rise and you sycophants will bend or BURN!" She roared as the flames around her grew wilder singing nearby seats with the heat as frightened passengers cowered against the walls of the plane.
  15. Alright Firestarter is up then. She'll sunder Dr. Wakefields bag with a fiery blast of fire To Hit 1d20+10 = 19; Hit DC 29 Toughness save for the bag which while leather is not equal the task it is destroyed along with its contents.
  16. so Crit is a DC 32 Toughness save for Firestarter 1d20+14; Successful Save Orkos is in a 20's kind of mood this morning? El Huracan is up.
  17. In the wake of the blast there was screaming and running as people fearful of further explosions fled the area in a tumultuous mass, Sea Devil could make out the pantsless villain appear on a balcony down the block but by the time she croaked her warning he'd vanished to who knows where. Sirens in the distance grew louder and louder as police and other emergency services rushed to the scene of the crime, overhead the scorched and in placed buckling beams exposed when the blast destroyed hte interior of the shop groaned and pinged ominously. One blast such as that shouldn't take down a building but there was no telling what may still break free from the twisted structures above. At the edge of the blast zone those unfortunate souls unable to get free of the shop before the blast was unleashed staggered or drug themselves toward the light through the dust filled air. Some did not move at all, the brave few less injusred of lucky enough to be further from the blast staggered in the dust cloud covering in fine white particulate as they searched for survivors to help.
  18. Ok so if you all want to jump in we'll be in combat rounds though you can put in reaction posts and some hurried planning if you want. Initiative 28 Seahawk 3HP 24 El Huracan 1HP 23 Firestarter NPC 19 Miracle Girl 1HP
  19. Dauntless seemed less phased by the sheer gore and horror of the murderish behavior though his face was etched with concern both for the other witnesses and for Riley. He looked to Raina and grimaced though Anibal seemed to have her well enough in hand for the moment. "You did I'm sure as you thought was expected Mr. Quin." he finely said with steely resolve though is voice gentled slightly as he added, "You will find that this world has different norms and expectations to those you are accustomed." he finally let out a slow breath, "We will be ending he testing here for today." he revealed firmly, "Each of you will have a meeting with Mr. Archer and Dr. Marquez and myself to discuss the results of your tests." he opined not wanting anyone to be singled out, "Until that time I think it best we not discuss any of your testing with other students, some of hte tests are reused." He lied somewhat poorly and looked mostly at Anibal whos test was really the only one likely to be reused and affected by foreknowledge.
  20. Huang looked down at the reply and spent a long anxious moment as the dread trio of dots taunted him. When the rest of the message appeared Huang let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. He smiled at both the glib response and seemingly earnest concern. He was of course still worried his inability to hold his blood was going to be at issue the episode standing tall in his memory of recent embarrassments. Oh? I thought you were reformed Oh lord of vipers ;P Too much? damn text was infuriatingly lacking in contextual clues. Sorry about that... You are a lot to handle though I'm equal the task at hand
  21. Huang met Jacks gaze and to his credit for longer than most were able to hold it before breaking away. Staring at the floor he merely shook his head, "Yea because any of us have any idea what that would even be like." he murmured pugnaciously and shrugged, "But sure fine we can play this game of pretending I'm a real boy." he said and glanced to taylor then Jack, "But real boys don't like dreary museums to human hubris and do like pretty girls if I'm supposed to be out playing at normal that's what I was doing, meeting people making friends." he threw up his hands despairingly, "If they'll even talk to me after my dad ran in to call them a whore." The young Dhampir huffed again in the general direction of Jack at that and looked to Taylor curiously, "So what am I grounded from now?"
  22. "Oh yea so you're at least at home with the big city thing you'll get the lay of hte land pretty quick." Huang suggested cordially leaving alone the argument that may or may not have driven off the semi official guides they'd stumbled upon. As they were approached by the trunk wielding behoodied boy he turned to reply about their own search when fortuitous whoomping revealed the answers they sought. He stared right at Whoomp Ant and shook his head, "What?" he asked flabbergasted, "They don't even randomly assign people to prison cells." he remarked incredulously before looking to Raina, "We should be so lucky they at least had a talking hat to arrange roomies." he grumbled.
  23. Alright here's the conversation for Heritage and Osprey. Given the margin of success and her feature Miracle girl can repeat with full inflection and what not for El Huracan if she chooses. The older gentleman stands a worried frown fixed on his features, "Miss is there a problem? We seem to be-" he goes silent jaw working wordlessly as his eyes go wide and he unconsciously clutches his briefcase closer to his chest, "J-j-jeniffer?" he stammers the question wordlessly his body language tense looking like he's about to bolt though there is nowhere to run. "W-what are you doing here?" The flight attendant let out a light carefree laugh at his initial question, "Oh no problem sir." she replied as he recognized her and drew back fearfully, "Hello Doctor Warfield." she purred, "Long time no see." she said with venom canting one hip as she spoke. "You have been very very naughty." she growled as vague ripples formed in the air above her as if looking out over a hot parking lot in summer. "N-n-no no no." Warfield babbled as he backed away, "Jennifer don't do this I'm just trying to help the-" He was cut off however as the woman broke in, "WE ARE NOT SOME DISEASE TO BE CURED!" She roared as the air around her ignited in flame burning away her uniform and leaving her standing sheathed in fire. And that'll be initiative. Time, unless of course you all decide not to intervene? Initiative Firestarter 1d20+8 = 23
  24. Coach Capote watched with interest as Riley crept through the branches and emerged in a handy sniper nest. This had been well designed it seemed for the teens talents which no one could fault as he stealthily dug in for the battle to come. The metal man made a few praising notes on the tablet As Riley made his preparations nodding with enthusiasm at the use of hte flashbang to blind and distract the Green Man. Of course his good cheer was not to last. As the bolt sunk home the chilling cry of pain from the city spirit rang through the simulator for an instant before being cut short by the crack-boom of the detonating binary explosive. The observers watched in horror as broken shards of the urban hero flew in all directions the body of Doc metropolis rent to rubble down to his waist before the simulator safety protocols kicked in freezing the simulator at the death of a hero. Hanging in the air mere yards before them was the still recognizable eye of the Spirit of Freedom City still bound to a chunk of the heroes shattered head. Dauntless was frozen in shock for a moment longer though shook it of quickly shouting out a verbal emergency shutdown code the simulation flickering out and a final panel of white hard light lowering Riley to the floor safely. Capote looked first to the other students then to Riley then back to his classmates and let out a slow breath. "I think perhaps it we ought reconvene at a later date." he said with forced calm less unsettled than some might be at the rather extreme solution Riley had chosen but clearly shaken none the less.
  25. Wind rustled leaves and the low thrumming chants of the enthralled once more carried through the simulator as the scene kicked back into motion and Riley could feel the slow sway of the branches below his feet as he lithely crept to the knothole and lowered himself within. The upper levels of hte hollow were dimly lit with light reflected from deeper within the tree and twisted like the roots and branches below, the musty scent of damp earth and crisp new growth filled the air as the woodsman worked his way toward the light of the central chamber. Stepping around a final corner Riley stood above a vast chamber in the heart of the tree. The path he was an spiraled slowly down following the outer wall of the room while overhead the roots or branches within grew together into a vaulted ceiling of sorts. Below the thralls could be seen making their way to oversize vacuoles where they were whisked off through the tree to who knows where but the already heavy fruits outside took a darker tone at hte revelation of what powered this outrageous overgrowth. On a raised dais in the center of the room the bulk of hte freedom league lay entrapped in branches and roots or beaten and defeated whilst in the the midst of it all sat upon a leafy throne with vines burrowed into his concrete skin sat Doctor Metropolis! His powers being sapped and channeled into the tree to boost the powers of the Green Man, the only remnant of the original villain his leering face looming over the throne the rest of him grown into the mass of hte throne and branches of the tree itself. The heroic city spirit strained against his bindings to no avail and the concrete and glass of his body was slowly being replaced by bark and leaves as the urban landscape was swallowed and converted to nature once more by his own stolen powers.
