  1. At the ritual circle is the Lead cultist and his four top aides, the grounds are being prowled by 10 to 15 lay cultists hard to get an accurate count as they wander all dressed the same.

  3. Huang started only slightly at the casual contact when the god joined him in examining the sorcery afoot. Eyes lambent with his own magic he looked down at Set and quirked a brow with a slight smirk dimpling one cheek, "I could ask the same of you stormbringer." Huang replied though his tone made clear he was not among the mystics still bent out of shape over the gods previous incarnation. "But you and I both know things are not always as they seem." he pointed to the deepening darkness, "What we see from here is but a side effect of the powers being called upon within the memorial." he explained and began to step toward the event as he offered, "They are summoning something, though I've not seen magic of this flavor in my studies." He turned and shrugged, "Shall we investigate?" he asked and on silent feet and clinging to the deepening shadows he slowly crept towards the ritual in progress. Once the pair reached the outskirts of the memorial glade robed figures could be seen roaming among the statues of fallen heroes, serpentine ritual daggers at their belts were embossed with gold and the hilt shaped in the gaping maw of an asp. The Black robes they wore were accented with bright green hieroglyphics, declarations of their devotion to Set the Destroyer. In the center of the monument the high cultist and his closest aids chanted in poorly conjugated coptic their ceremonial headdress emblazoned with the fanged serpents favored by Set's predecessor. In the center of their circle they profaned the idol of Horus the Avenger as their chanting reached a fever pitch and dark cracks formed along the surface of the statue as the air filled with the scent of ozone and sulfur.
  4. Psychic Thief low level psychic and infiltrator. Able to avoid detection by psychics as well as skilled at infiltration though reliant on the psychic powers to remain hidden in many situations. Due to the focus on psychic abilities this character is much better at infiltration against living thinking targets than vs. machines. Thus as an antagonist is able to be caught on film or by securty systems while guards have no memory of the break in. Primarily designed as a NPC antagonist particularly confounding for psychic characters. As a PC Loss of some of the mental protections and possibly obfuscate effect could put more detective/investigator skills in the skill block to broaden the base a bit and make a Psychic dark knight sort of build.
  5. I have two threads I plan to start up that may expand into more as plotting persists. Looking for 2-3 characters of similar PL in each thread. Initially these will be mostly smash em ups but there is deeper reasons to be explored leading into future threads. I'm using these threads to get The Fellowship npc group into play. If interested reply below with links to your character and let me know your preferred thread(s) I'll be cherry picking those that'll be best fit for each thread. There will be some combat as well as room for investigation and I'd like to keep up post rates to around 1/day or faster where pacing allows. Thread One: Shopping Spree; A peaceful day of shopping at the upscale boutiques of midtown is shattered by violent villainy. But is there more to this than theft and property destruction? Thread Two: The Unfriendly Skies; A commercial flight out of Jordan International is Hijacked minutes after take off. A brief alarm was sounded by the pilots before radio silence descended and the plane continues to fly in low slow circles over the city as officials race to find a way to save the passengers and figure out who has seized the plane and what they want.

  7. Huang wasn't so oblivious to his surroundings that he hadn't noticed the vague crowding of assorted passerby pausing for snapshots of the setlebrity. He angled slightly around the most recent clump trodding on the lush grass as he evaded rubbing elbows with the amatuer paparazzi. He did turn to look back however not being so jaded as to take such a sighting completely in stride and caught sight of the limber godling flip agilely to hang and look at something behind him. A small smile crimped is lips just the tips of his fangs visible for a moment before he looked back over his shoulder trying to see what she must be looking at. Even to mortal eyes the knoll of heroes had taken on a more sinister cast, to his eyes trained in the arts arcane it was clear there was sorcery afoot and safe money wasn't on the friendly kind. With a gesture as if scooping water over his face and a few resonant syllables of latin he washed away the veil that hid magic from the mundane world to try and puzzle what was being conjured on the hillock above. Set would see the attractive youth framed against the deepening shadows over the memorials with darkness not unlike what was hers to command. The residents of the city, too long familiar with such oddities already were slowly backing away looking about to Set either concerned the seemingly reformed godling could be responsible or expecting the famed entity to intervene. Huang remained in place as the sky over Heroes Knoll darkened not from clouds but as if some force had banished the light of Ra, or perhaps devoured it.

  9. There was a field trip. To the Hunter Natural History Museum no less, which was basically from what Huang guessed a visit with his namesake minus the chance at decent dim sum. Reasonably enough he found both reason and means to evade the buddy system and do some research of his own. It was like ferris bueller's day off meets the craft, so bound to be full of awesome right? The sun overhead was still too bright as he slipped unseen out the employee entrance to the Hunter museum and jogged across the street toward the park. Pulling his sunglasses from the void, with some aid from the ever helpful denizens that allowed him to find his things despite his corner of the void looking precisely as one would expect a realm of chaos and shadow imprinted by the mind of a sixteen year old boy, he gathered his bearings. Finding a likely gate he began to make his way through the tree lined paths towards heroes' knoll hoping to use the sympathetic energies of the hero statues therein to trace a theory he had developed about the mysterious Hepcat. Of course keeping his eyes from the sky avoiding the brightness of the sun he took no notice of the gathering of unatural shadows over the knoll nor the slow thrumming build of dark magics in the heart of the monuments.
  10. A somewhat chagrinned mike hunched his shoulders slightly as he slipped back inside with a quiet murmur, "Uhm yea of course." Not that it was completely absurd to expect a mole people attack when hanging out with Mark but none the less in hindsight it had been far more excitement than concern in that particular squeel maybe he was just out of practice translating Mark, though he privately maintained excited squeals might be Marks reaction to mole people too. "Congratulations." He said to looking from Erin to Trevor with a genuine smile and a slight rueful chuckle, "yes I do know the difference between an engagement ring and wedding band." he offered to Trevor, "I had a very nice salesperson explain it to me when I got Alex's" he added with a self deprecating laugh. He blinked briefly at Trevors deadpan and glanced to Erin then Mark with seeming real concern for a flicker of a moment, "I hadn't realized it was a race." he said in his best approximation of deadpan which was really just a poor imitation of Trevor, "I'm sure your romancing is very swift." he added with a grin as while still very much Mike he had spent the last few years with regular doses of salty police cadet humor. Then with real concern he paused, "Alex knows right?" he asked Erin, "If not you need to tell her she'll be so excited, and I'm no good at keeping secrets from her." He looked then to Mark at his suggestions of a cave wedding and clapped a hand on his friends shoulder, "Cave won't do, need good lighting for the pictures." he pointed out pretty much exhausting his wedding planning expertise.

  12. Well Raina certainly was blunt but it hadn't seemed to put anyone off. Huang supposed most parents were less 'keep it secret keep it safe' than his about their kids abilities so no one seemed to be reluctant to show off. He was starting to like this place already. With a nod he considered Robins words, no powers, tough kid from the wrong side of hte tracks, definitely the Ravens latest protege and potential spy for the headmistress after all she had to have some way of always being in everyone's business and student spies just made sense. He watched Hannas display with a slight widening of his eyes at the colorful bubble, "Flashy I like it." he replied easily and tried to filter meaning out of the long line of science words the walking advertisement for tiger moming belted out. "Right on, so I know who to go to for help cramming for physics." he suggested with a friendly laugh. So far the group seemed to have potential, Tough kid, Awkward weirdo, nerd, they were well over halfway to a breakfast club though dependant on ones hopes for high school it was hard to say if it was the good half. "Orkney?" he replied as Cathy displayed the northern isles, "Visited Stenness with my parents once." he offered with a shrug though technically that visit was five years out on tis time line and was another of his moms 'working vacations' but the hidden cache of asgardian artifacts they'd retrieved to send back where they belonged had been fascinating. "Well as you can see." he suggested pointing to the suitcase, "Raina dabbles in the mysteries as do I." he explained leaving out the whole half vampire thing for now as despite being a total dad about it Jack was right and that might not be the best opener for new friends.
  13. Ace Adams Legacy Gear Ace Adams was the two fisted second to the famed John Danger of the Jungle Patrol. An Ace pilot and OSS trained commando he was indispensible in the Patrols explorations and adventures. While not possessed of any powers of his own beyond his exceptional training and nerves of steel he did utilize some of the more wondrous devices the jungle Patrol cooked up in their adventures. Rocket Boots Ace Adams amazing Rocket Boots allowed the daring pilot to take to the air for stunning aerobatic action in the skys. In addition to flight the rockets could be engaged to slow falling speed and perform boosted jumps. By tweaking the fuel mixture He could send forth roiling clouds of smoke to cover an escape as well as in dire circumstance institute a 'Full Burn' blasting all nearby with searing rocket exhaust. The armored boots are affixed with carefully calibrated rockets and a hand held trigger fires them. They are unwieldy to the uninitiated but a pilot of Aces skill had little difficulty mastering the powers of flight! These finely hand crafted firearms are not only built to exacting tolerances making them both more powerful and more accurate than comparable heavy pistols but are also able to fire a wide assortment of specialty ammo the jungle patrol has developed from hyperdense anti-armor rounds to incendiary rounds, from liquid nitrogen infused frost rounds to the famed night night rounds or dum dum rounds for less than lethal operations. Huang quickly exited the Minivan well down the line form the main drop off and pulled her suitcase from the back in a mundane manner he immediately regretted, "Oof how many sweaters are in that thing." he murmured not for the first time regretting his lack of his birthrights might. "Still probably better than getting hassled again." he admitted and nodded toward the main entrance, "Not far a walk. You want a hand with the bag or you got it?" he asked as while his father was many things (undead creature of the night, terrifying spook, purveyor of dad jokes) he was also a gentleman and instilled such in Huang, though with some difficulty. Once responsibility for the bag was resolved he turned and headed up the sidewalk being glad for once to be walking with someone who he didn't have to shorten his strides for. "That was a good trick back there, they like to think the old church slavonic is bullet proof." he said with a complementary laugh. *** When they reached the cluster of other students he slowed and surveyed the scenery, lots of first years with nervous goodbyes, a few upperclassmen leaving with near his own alacrity, and a knot of maybe new students who were not rushing to wherever they should be. "Looks like they're new or not interested in rushing off at least." he suggested to Raina and approached the group flashing a winning smile with more than a hint of fang to it. "Hey." he greeted easily as he tried then abandoned puzzling out the social hierarchy and went with the old Farretti standard of assuming he was at the top. "Pretty nice set up they got here." he suggested diplomatically and gestured to Raina, "This is Raina new to the school came in from indiana." he introduced easily, "I'm Huang, native son." he offered with a laugh, "But first year at this school, where you all from?"

"Mother!." he hissed glaring over the top of his sun glasses as if that stunt had ever led to any teen being less humiliated ever. Then of course Raina asked the inevitable and wouldn't you know it dear old dad uncharacteristically told her the truth. After all the lectures about keeping his nature secret lest the spooky hunter spawn or unspeakable blood cults get wind and snatch him away and here's Jack all but announcing his nature to a fellow student with possible cult connections. He hung his head pinching the bridge of his nose as he willed the world to just stop so he could get off. "I can't believe I'm related to these people." he muttered in exasperation and eyed the long line of cars and then Raina pondering being trapped in here with a fellow student and his parents until the other students managed their tearful goodbyes. "Oh look at that line." he said clapping his hands together and releasing his seatbelt setting off a cacophony of beeps from the vans console, "Ya know don't want to be late we should just hoof it the final stretch." he said to Raina with a nod, "I'll help you with your bag." he suggested and leaned forward to pat JJ, "That's right mini me 'spooooooky' you got it down." he praised with discordant aplomb about the antics of the younger boy for one so clearly full of teen angst in every other realm.
  16. Duplicator Build Core Build So the basic build without making dupes is a solid PL 7 scrapper (the sheet used for the dupes is in fact a PL 7 105PP below). They hit the PL 7 caps unarmed or with trademark weapons(bought as equipment) and have a solid basis in the basic athletic brawler type, heavy on core stats light on skills with feats to round them out.. They have a small suite of low level athletic powers under the training descriptor to help them get around and ties into a near peak human physical capabilities. Beyond that they also have a rank four morph to take on varied appearances allowing both some infiltration potential as well as tying into some of the broader applications of the Duplicator concept. With Duplication The core power added to bring the Duplicator up is of course the duplicator variation of the summon power. They can split into up to twenty five additional copies of the duplicator, which is quite a few, however rather than just making 25 PL 7 attacks they can combo and aid (with the teamwork feat bonus) to manage fewer attacks coming out at or even slightly above PL allowing the duplicator to punch well above his PL 7 weight class and with the right set up even above the PL10 caps. The nice part being that it is very easy to tune the attacks to the level of the enemies as well as that impervious over the base +8 they pull with weapons can't be touched by them. Also in the spirit of genre conventions duplicators shine when they utilize dupes to do multiple things at once (escort civilians to safety while fighting the villains, splitting up to cover more ground in searches etc.) Proposed aid/combined attack numbers that can be reached will be added below. In addition to the core duplication power there are a number of utilizations of the powerset to achieve less standard effects. Arrayed with the duplication are other applications as follows; An AOE damage to represent sending a burst of short term Dupes out to swarm the area attacking enemies, these dupes are reabsorbed almost as quickly as they are made and thematically not all are just striking some are aiding others or combining attacks this leads to this attack being ranked up to the PL 10 caps (though the lesser dupes can not themselves duplicate to perform it); A ranged damage effect with indirect, and autofire, and indirect as well as homing, this burst of duplicates rather than attacking everyone in an area all team up to go after one target. Autofire represents the flood of attacks and it too is scaled up to PL10 to represent the teamwork aspect. As the dupes can run and swarm around blockades and even stick around a round or two if they don't get a good hit off it has both homing and indirect. Then comes the more esoteric applications, the core dupe power has mindlink so all the dupes they makes function as a sort of collective consciousness, Taking a page from Mr. Zero in paragons but with a heroic bent there is an assumption to these powers that dupes can have ingratiated themselves all over. With this network information gathering is drastically eased hence the enhanced skills and feats related to that. This is applied to an ESP effect when the mindlink allows shared senses. Effectively there is a limited range on the mindlink to share senses and only some many that can be accessed at once thus while there may be dupes the world over in broad theory they can only ESP short range or it gets to overwhelming to be useful. Teleport works under the same concept only instead of sharing senses the 'Main' heroic portion of the collective can shift it's focus and the core duplicator powers into a different Dupe similar to the survivor extra on duplication only without death being needed (or in a process akin to the agents from the matrix). Lastly there are defensive applications of duplication enhanced dodge focus and a sustained duration protection (forcefield effect) represent both increased situational awareness from sending dupes to watch his back and having short term dupes intercept attacks or reabsorb to instantly heal him. When fully activated both of these would also represent the "mirror image" kind of defense common to duplicators and some illusionists. Dupes 105PP

Phalanx Workspace Players Name: angrydurf Power Level: 15 (220/220 PP) (31 pre-bump, 56 post-bump) Trade-Offs: -3 Attack, +3 Save DC (Melee); -5 Attack +5 Save DC (Laser Vision); -5 Defense, +5 Toughness; Unspent PP: 0 Progress to Gold: 87/90 Characters Name: Michael Harris Alternate Identity: Phalanx Height: 6'6" Weight: 260 lbs Hair: Black Eyes: Green Description: Mike has recently gotten what he hopes to be his last growth spurt topping him out well over six feet tall. He prefers baggy clothing still but given his most recent growth spurt he has difficulty finding anything that isn't relatively tight. He still prefers basic Jeans and t-shirt combos but has added some shirts with color or designs to his formerly black on black wardrobe as he comes further out of his shell. He towers over most of his fellow students and its not hard to place what exactly his powers are just from his appearance. In his efforts to clean up his image he has styled his hair into a short spit curl and usually manages to keep from going out with bed head these days. He moves with confidence much less uncertain and tentative then the boy who came to Claremont a few short months ago. In costume as Phalanx he shows he cleans up quite nicely. The high collar and shoulders of the costume are in Claremont gold dropping a deep V to his belt of bronzed plates, his Young Freedom Beacon acting as buckle, the rest of the form fitting suit is in deep blue. He pairs this with matching bracers and boots of burnished bronze, and a deep blue full length cape draped from his shoulders. Update 8/2015: The past few years have been good to Mike and his frame if anything has filled out as he has grown into full adulthood. Broad of shoulder and muscular he looks as if he works out regularly to obsesively with a strong squared jaw and well kept close cropped hair. His cloths are now rarely baggy and he carries himself with more confidence though still takes exceptional care not to intimidate or bully people with his size. History: If his parents hadn't been at odds over a natural home birth verses a hospital one Michaels life would have turned out very differently. As it was Melinda Harris found herself, alone thanks to Marvins workaholism, at the hospital birthing class when the invasion started. A portal to the terminus opened in the midst of the room bathing the expectant mothers in the strange energy of that place. Thanks to the quick reactions of her ad hock partner, who's husband also hadn't shown, she survived the assault and together managed to escape to safety. They became fast friends after that harrowing event and once they were born Michael and her daughter Alexandra soon were as well. Much to Marvin and Melinda's relief it at fist seemed the energies of the Terminus had had no effect on Michael, that was not to last however. He was certainly big for his age and strong too, though as doting parents they thought it well within the norm, then one day when Melinda was trying to get him to nap he floated up and out of the crib to continue his interrupted playtime. His parents made immediate efforts to make sure he would keep his abilities a secret they didn't know what else to do. When Melinda confided in her friend Rebecca she learned that little Alex had powers as well, the children spent even more time together from that point on as the parents could trust one another with each others secrets like they could few others When the children grew to school age it seemed as if the caution may have been overkill. both children were careful not to reveal that they were different even if they didn't fully understand why. Of course this was more responsibility than a young child really can be expected to bear. It was a normal schoolyard scuffle an older boy took a toy from Alex and Mike told him to give it back Things escalated from there too quickly and the next thing any one knew the other boy was across the room in a heap next to the crumbling wall. Mike was shocked and worried, and more than a little scared. He didn't know what had happened to the boy but he saw the reaction from the other students and the adults. When Alex gave voice to their thoughts his fears were confirmed he had done a very bad thing. The adults and his parents tried to tell him the boy would be fine but Alex had already given voice to their fears and he knew their comforting words to be lies. When the government men came he thought for sure they were gong to take him to jail. He didn't hear much of the conversation but Alex filled him in on the pertinent details. They were going to go to a special school now, a school where they would be tested to see the extent of the 'Terminus Effect' For the next ten years he was schooled at a secret ASTRO labs facility under the code name Phalanx. They Tested his abilities and make up charting his progress and trying to trace the energies that granted he and Alex their powers. Through either his mothers determined though limited grassroots campaign or Rebbecas old contacts the children as well as some others the unit had picked up were released to their parents once more and the obvious surveillance removed. Now at nearly sixteen years of age Michael is in a, comparatively, normal school for the first time. He's uncertain about this Claremont academy but happy to have a chance at something like normalcy. Update: Not long after beginning his studies at Claremont academy fate conspired to thrust him and several of his friends into action when a baseball stadium full of spectators was held hostage. After saving the day the groups nominal leader, and Mikes roommate, Edge declared them Young Freedom. They have had several other encounters together and separately with the cities criminal element and usually come out on top. The school sees to it that they are prepared for the journey before them and Mike had flourished under the training and camaraderie of the team. Update 8/2015: After graduating Claremnt Academy Mike went on to get a criminal justice AA and attend the police academy before joining the FCPD. His nature was revealed in short order in a rather spectacularly public manner. No longer able to pretend he can live the simple life Mike is at loose ends as he decides where to go from here. Personality & Motivation: Michael plays the part of the introvert and loner though he does desire companionship he has trouble trusting, both others and himself. He covers for this with acerbic humor and a generally sullen demeanor. Few have worked past his defenses in this regard, and fewer wish to bother, but those that have have made a friend for life. Michael is acutely aware of the destruction he is capable of, perhaps more so than even the testers are, and it terrifies him. He is a good person that truly does want to try and better the world but lives in fear of his own body. He lacks the confidence to embrace his potential instead hiding behind a facade of disinterest and sullenness. However when a friend is in danger, or even insulted, he will weather whatever the world will throw his way in their defense though he won't lash out physically even then. Mike steadfastly refuses to fight thus far, though he has yet to be truly tested in the real world. Update: Mike has come out of his shell with his participation in Young Freedom and he is much less somber when with the good friends he has made there. He still is usually the serious one in the group but will laugh with the others at a well told joke. this newfound camaraderie has strengthened his already strong protective impulse and woe be it to anyone who would threaten his friends. Update 8/2015: Mike has long dreamed of the simple normal life despite events conspirign ot make such impossible. After leaving school this desire seperated him from many of his school friends and hs left him lonlier and more withdrawn. After the debacle of his attempt at being a police officer he is primed to give up the dream of normalcy and fully embrace his heroic identity. With little else left to identify with however he is at risk of losign himself to the job as it were. Powers & Tactics: Mike is a physical powerhouse but usually holds himself back. Since his training at Claremont with Young Freedom his abilities have improved drastically from their untrained state. He is still slow to put the full force of his powers into play but his control now allows him to unleash his full potential when it is most needed. He is always stalwart in defense of his comrades and innocents and takes care to keep collateral damage to a minimum. Phalanx always takes care to keep his strength in check. He will usually open with accurate attacks and against most foes utilize only a fraction of his might so as to make sure he doesn't injure anyone or cause too much damage. OOC he will often utilize less than his full strength bonus on attacks unless he knows the foe can take his full power. Complications: Heroes Code: Fully embracing his powers has left mike with feeling a responsibility to do so wisely and justly. Holding Back: Phalanx holds to the genre conventions that you do not open with your most powerful attack. He'll usually pull his early punches and try for non damaging attacks like disarms and grapples until a foe proves too strong or durable at which point he'll begin to ramp up. Registered: full records of who mike is are available to those with sufficient clearance. Responsibility: Alex, his girlfriend, and Zoe, his daughter from the future.   18. Huang winced as his mom started asking about uncomfortable truths and let out a slow sigh of relief as Rainas outburst seemed to quell that line of conversation. He leaned back to watch the fireworks and snicker lightly at JJ's grown up impression which was basically every other five year olds monster impression. Unfortunately that all came tumbling down all to quickly as Jack unleashed his torrent of really uncomfortable subjects and slumped in his seat with a beleaguered sigh, "Yea that just happened. Awesome." he murmured to himself and shook his head not about to extend this conversation by engaging about it. However once the story started to revolve around Jacks spat with some dried up old hero from before electricity he shrugged to Raina, "Rough." he said with a nod before focusing his attention on JJ trying to keep him distracted form whatever was going to come out of his parents mouths next, with the way this trip was going it would be about his afterbirth or the tree Stesha planted on it or something.
  19. "Actually I cover my own eldritch tome expenses." he explained with a smile, didn't do his own dishes or laundry, certainly didn't get his own food. But buy esoteric books of arcane mysteries with his pocket money absolutely. He paid cash which he pulled in a tight roll from inside his jacket and peeled off the fee before tucking it away. He was impassive to his moms suggestion of working the store the special collections were interesting enough to be a nice diversion though he doubted it would be as lucrative as his sideline in sportbooks on matches he knew the outcomes of. "I'll take that as the praise it was clearly intended to be." he replied to Gretchin with a saucy wink and looked to Grim with a raised brow smiling as she agreed, "Yea I can virtually assure you it will not impact my homework habits in the least." He said with a firm nod, mostly because he pretty much planned on blowing most of it off anyway. You know what they say C's get degrees.
  20. Huang looked over the rim of his sunglasses to take a closer look at the monkey, "Familiar huh?" he inquired curiously as he examined the monkey and offered a small nod. He wasn't about to bind his life force to a small mostly helpless animal but different strokes for different folks. He studiously ignored Taylors weak explanation and flashed a quick smile to Raina giving her a good look at his own fangs since that cat was out of the bag. He nodded at her question, "Yea mostly right here in freedom." he confirmed with a shrug, "but we travel alot for business and all." he clarified with a shrug, "But My dads business is based here so we're always coming back." He looked from the monkey to JJ then to Raina raising a brow, "He really is much better about the biting thing." he clarified as if that would be the concern about the five year old and monkey. As his parents began discussing Raina in slavonic he tilted his head listening in and sighed shaking his head, "They probably don't want you to think they're talking about you." he said though did not confirm if that was or was not the case. "they always used to use that to talk about presents till I figured the language out."

Huang sighed at his mothers scolding, "Yea cus we're the picture of normal without it." he replied sarcastically, "Besides I thought it was important for me to go to school so I made friends, what am I supposed to base those friendships on a bed of lies?" he asked as if shocked at the suggestion. He frowned at his father at the admonition about trying to impress girls with his magic, "Not many, and none I'm doing in front of my parents." he countered boldly with a smug grin before offering glance to raina with a small shrug, "Sorry, you know how parents are." he said with confidence she'd agree that parental units were horrible blights on teen life. He however gentled at the recommendation from the younger him, "You'll get it in a few years mini me." he suggested with a wink, looking back to Raina he nodded and likely pointlessly translated, "JJ's a pretty awesome kid though so they aren't doing everything wrong." Yea Huang got the characteristic Faretti humility. He looked to his Mother then with a raised brow and smug smirk awaiting her response to the implied question about JJ's dental uniqueness.

Elis replied slowly and nodded thoughtfully the unaging angle was not something he'd considered much, "that must be an eternal frustration in your uncostumed life." he remarked with a small smile then paused, "High school would mean ..." he shrugged, "it doesn't matter." he really didn't need to know the details of mystic teen mom. As she began to explain a bit more of the broader strokes of the mystic community he sunk into a studious pose and listened carefully, "Yes I have heard of him though never obviously interacted I like to think our little corner beneath his paygrade." because if it wasn't it was way over Elis'. "Nice to meet you Taylor." he greeted more politely, "Elis Sanford." he paused and added with some hesitance, "Doctor Elis Sanford." as it really was more specific even though it risked the old hat of doctor egotism. He tucked the number neatly away in his planner and offered a heartfelt, "Thank you. He's currently at 220 PP He is boosted to PL 10/150PP He had 31PP at his boost which would be 10PP Rollover at one third so 160PP then according to his progress to gold count has earned 56PP since which would put him at 216PP so it looks like 4PP didn't get added to his Player reward progress counts at some point but did get added to his PP totals. Sandman Elis Sanford Gather information 10 Doctor at Freedom Medical Center 15 Wife was killed about a year ago murdered in their home 20 No culprit was ever found nor evidence of who or what might have killed her Knowledge (Life Sciences) 20 Dr. Sanford is credited on several minor studies in deep sedation for therapeutic purposes. Sandman Gather information 10 A cowled hero in blue and white seems to show up in areas of strange occurrences 15 He's been known to stop some crimes here and there but his focus seems to be elsewhere those thugs who have faced him have found themselves bound in chains of sand as if by magic. 20 His costume is reminiscent of a Monster hunting hero from recent memory though she was not known to use magic. Knowledge(Arcane) 15 Sandman is not a practitioner of traditional magic though is powers seem magical in origin. 20 Sandmans powers are tied to the magics of the dream realms 25 Sandman appears to be the inheritor of the Dream Guardians Legacy granted power by the Sands of Sleep that have infused his being, however he doesn't seem to use his powers in that legacies traditions. Knowledge(Cosmology) 20 Sandman is the Guardian of hte Vale of Sleep an ancient protector of the dreams of sentient beings and the dream realms from incursions by the forces of nightmare.
  25. Twenty Questions 1. Where is your hero from? Right here in Freedom City. 2. How would your hero physically describe him/herself? Is this different from how others would? I keep fit, Healthy you know, the touch of grey is probably distinguished. Others sometimes might put him in the 'hot dad' catagory. Not perhaps model, or bad boy good looks but a mature kind of handsome that appeals to a certain sort. 3. Does your hero have distinguishing speech characteristics or recurring mannerisms? He tends to speak softly but authoratatively, as if expecting the world to quiet down and listen. 4. What is your hero's motivation? Three fold, first protect his kids, Second everyone elses, lastly catch and stop his wifes killer. 5. What are your hero's greatest strengths and weaknesses? He is a man of will and devotion, he puts his all into whatever he tries to do. Yet desite his potency he is inexperianced relying more on power than skill to get by. 6. What does your hero love? What does your hero hate? He loves innocence and optimism, whether in children or adults that don't let the world beat it out of them. He hates those who use fear to get thier way or endanger children or other innocents. 7. How would you describe your character's mental and emotional state? Pretty sad but resolute. He's had a great love story only his happily ever after is light on the ever and heavy on the after . However he's resolved himself to his loss and refuses to let that loss sour him on the world and the people of it. 8. What does your hero fear the most? Dieing before his kids are grown. 9. What is your character's greatest ambition? Imprison the Boogyman back in the deapths of the nightmare realms. 10. How does your hero feel about the state of the world and his/her place in it? He's cautiously optomistic about the world as a whole, there are problems but so many people working to solve them he can't feel another way. He does hwoever feel out of place in the world as his role as hero and guardian of the vale of sleep were never intended for him and he knows it. 11. Does your hero have any prejudices? How does he/she get along with others? Overall he gets on well with most people and is fairly live and let live overall, however he is pretty prejudiced against those so fearful of hte medical proffession they refuse care thinking them dangerously foolish. 12. Where do your heroes loyalties lie? In what order? His kids, His duty to the realms of dream. 13. Does your hero have a lover or partner? How do they feel about the hero now? He did, she died a super hero and passed her powers and mandate to him. 14. Does your hero have a family? What is the relationship there like? He has two kids and a sister. He tries to be there for the kids but between the hospital and call of hero work leaves them with his sister more than he'd like. He has a good relationship with his sister and tries his harest to be a big part of his kids life. 15. How would the people closest to your hero describe him or her? Gentle and kind but with a iron kind of will in the face of people and things that terrorize. 16. Is your hero a role model? He hopes so though he'd rather people emulate his civie duties than superhero ones. He knows someday one or both of his kids will have to step up to fill his shoes though so tries to make sure they are grounded in the way they'll need to be to do so. 17. How spiritual is your hero? Does your hero follow a relgious tradition? He's a self described spiritual athiest. He can't buy into the general deist followings, too much suffering in the world for some all powerful force of good. He does however feel that there is a sort of spiritualism and comfort in humanity strivign to be better as a whole if not as individuals. 18. Is your hero part of a team, or would he/she like to be? Why? Not currently and though he'd be willing in the abstract he feels his baliwick is pretty specific and doesn't feel he'd really fit well with most of the super teams out there. 19. How does your hero feel about the place of metahumans and aliens on Earth? By and large they are like anyone else only more so. They can be good or evil, just of tyranical, brave or craven and it is only by virtue of thier power that they have greater impact on society as a whole. 20. If you could give one piece of advice to your hero, what would it be? Live a little. You can't teach your kids to live life to its fullest if you refuse to yourself.
