Taylor held out her hands to Ace and Jack, teleporting down to the basement without waiting for anything other than their hands. They actually beat Jack down, as athough invisible, his travel was still not quite as fast as the direct route. With a gesture, she cleared out a space of fresh dirt, eldritch energy blowing the plants out of the way. Stesha would never have approved but if she opened her eyes to scold Taylor, she'd be the happiest person. When Jack appeared again, she gestured silently to the cleared plot of dirt and hovered over him.

"No, no, no. I think it would be better if we did reverse genders. Chris can speak to Faith and I'll speak to Mark and.... did you have sex in the dorms with my daughter?" Alex shifted tracks abruptly to glare at Eddie, "I wasn't kidding, you know. I really can make it so that nothing arouses you again. Or only sheep. Or the statue of liberty."

Alex gave the boys a dubious look and reconsidered having opened her mouth in the first place, "No, we are not putting together some cracked out plan. It will backfire horribally and there will probably be another quad incident. I don't think anyone should talk to Mark unless its me or MAYBE Chris. Maybe."

Alex gave the boys a vaguely irritated look and huffed out her breath, "Of course he'll do the right thing. That doesn't mean people won't get hurt. Mark has no idea how into him she is. They're in completely different mental spaces and eventually that's going to cause huge problems. Problems I don't think Mark will even see coming." Alex huffed again and went to pull herself out of the pool, "Hopefully his powers won't protect him from the reprecussions so at least he'll only make that mistake once."

Taylor wrapped her arms around him, her slender body relaxing against him in mingled relief and support, shaking slightly as the tension started to leak out of her. The face she buried against his neck was suspiciously damp and her words were muffled but heartfelt, "Oh, thank God." Demon invsion and certain death were one thing but Taylor was used to risking herself. She was even used to risking Jack. After all, their relationship had been built largely in costume, but the idea of being responsible for something so helpless, so fragile was downright terrifying. As quickly as the relief came, it was swamped by panic as it became real. She looked up at him with red rimmed eyes and tear streaked cheeks as she whispered, "Oh, Jack, how are we going to do this?" ~~fin~~

"Oh, god, we can't let her family see her like this, Jack..." Taylor protested weakly, before turning her eyes back to Stesha as well, "She's... She's..." For once words failed the stoic mystic and she gave a little helpless gesture with her hands, eldritch power sparking through her fingertips uselessly as tears filled her eyes.

"Hey, Mike! Eddie!" A cheerful voice called out. A petite redhead appeared out of the knot of teens, literally glowing. A sparkly corona of energy surrounded her and she was dressed in eyeblindingly bold layered t-shirts. Her jeans were blessedly normal but they did have large colorful patches on the knees. With her braids bouncing, she bounced over to them and stuck one hand out to Trevor after giving Mike a beaming smile that lit up her whole face, "Hi, I'm Alexandra Albright but everyone calls me Alex. Or Psyche. Whichever. I like Alex though.

Taylor sat back in her chair, folding her leg up under her as she relaxed back into the chair. It dwarfed her frame somewhat as it was large and high backed but she looked entirely at home in her sanctum, despite her stature and youthful features. "Not impossible but improbable at best. You're not his only enemy, certainly and not even the only one with a personal vendetta. His victims are legion but he doesn't give most of them a chance to strike at him. Certainly not if he can help it." Taylor said, pushing the map towards her and settling back in her chair. Her voice remained calm, "Its rare but not unheard of for him to check up on promising experiments but he'll still have guards and worse."

Taylor squeezed his hand back, hard enough that if he wasn't a nigh invulnerable corpse, it probably would have hurt. She continued to grip his hand with hers and clutch the towel to her breasts with the other, her dark eyes never leaving his face. She opened her mouth to ask questions but shut it with an audible click, knowing that adding questions into the mix would only make it take longer to get answers.

The Good, The Bad, and The Extra dimensional (IC)
alderwitch replied to quotemyname's topic in West End
"Not that fast, but fast. Years in months as you've noted. It isn't one I've made a great study of, but I'm passingly familiar with it. Its not in flux, though, like Avalon is. Time flows forwards, backwards and sideways there. This is pretty linear." Taylor said with a little shift of her shoulders. "Time isn't always linear, you see. Each dimension is dfferent, with its own quirks and unless its on my radar, I usually know the big strokes. I can always pop over to check it out completely when needs arise. In this case, time moves on fast forward." -
After wrestling the glowing starheart into what looked like a pickle jar, Taylor pulled the sliver of glass from the broken phylactery out of her hand and watched the skin seal shut in its wake as she dropped the shard onto the table with a few others that she'd plucked out while the men were touching bases. "There is no 'normal' when it comes to this sort of thing... Something with that much power has to be put down quickly." She pushed the glowing jar over to the middle of her desk and looked up at Jack answering him in a quiet undertone, "I'm fine."

Some of you know we've been expecting my grandmother to pass away for a few weeks now and she passed in her sleep last night. I'm going to be dealing with that mostly this week and posting will be back on the back burner. I'll post when I'm able. Thanks in advance for understanding.

Taylor's inner ear immediately protested at the gravitic shift. Normally, she functioned just fine in zero-g but normally she wasn't conducting a difficult ritual while encumbered by her pregnancy. She scrabbled frantically, making a couple quick swipes to grab a floating bottle. Her fingers just closed around the thick glass but with gravity turned into a pretzel, she couldn't huck it at the ground to finish the ritual. Stesha's body floated by and grimly Taylor kicked towards it and reached for its limp hand. Taylor wasn't normally one for grandstanding but she whistled loud and sharp at the villian wrecking her library. She brought the handing holding the vial down on the thick and jagged piece of wood that had pierced her former friend's heart with every ounce of her strength, ignoring the pain of the shards that sliced her hand as it shattered. Freed, the scrap of summoned starlight in the small vial exploded outward in a wave of force as it encountered the gravity powers of the evil Dark Star and reacted violently. Gritting her teeth, Taylor closed her hand around the fragment, wrestling it with iron will to their purpose. With such powerful forces at play, a wrong move risked tearing everything assunder. With aching concentration, she slowly raised her hand high in the air, the light clutched in her fingers pulsing softly. She only hoped that it worked.

Sure thing. I wanted to make sure that all worked so I wouldn't have to edit the ic. I'll get that up right now

Taylor was brushing her dark hair out, combing out any lingering tangles, when she heard the phone ring. Her nerves were so badly jangled that she phased at the noise, the brush clattering to the floor through her suddenly ghostly hand and body. She left it there and grabbed a towel to wrap around her torso before phasing back into the bedroom in the most direct route possible. Taylor floated through the wall wrapped in one of the large dark towels from the bathroom with her still damp hair streaming around her shoulders. Her worried eyes searched Jack's face as she clamped her lips together in a strained line. Her hearing wasn't good enough to pick out the doctor's words so she had to watch Jack's reactions instead.

Yes will or power check, whichever is higher

I can't make that reflex save but here it is anyhow: 1d20=17 Concentration: 1d20+15=22 I don't know what the DC I'm supposed to be hitting is for jurry rigging. If that's not enough, I suppose I've got HP. Sorry for not getting back sooner. RL has been kicking me in the teeth. I was jurry rigging. I don't have enough rounds to actually jurryrig as I hear the combat is soon to be ended. I was hoping for a bit more of the mouthing off *grins* sooooo we'll just powerstunt a drain off the magic array so that we can call it done and say this has all been build up to the spell 36 Power points will get me Nullify 9 (Gravity) (Extra: Nullifying Field (+0), Duration: Sustained (+2)) Tah Dah! Lemme know if that works, Cy, and I will get the post up asap. Posting I can do from my phone but not the dice rolling for some reason now.

Alex blinked at her with wide, too obsevant eyes and she smiled gently, "He really isn't perfect, you know. Mark's a great guy but he's not all that emotionally deep. He is very young in a lot of ways. His powers buffer him from a lot of the more unpleasant parts of life. Its important to go into things eyes wide open, you know." Alex shrugged and her glance went back to the pool, "I kinda doubt he's given the rumor mill a second thought, really."

"Oh fine. This isn't my scene but James is happy and my friends are having a really good time. So am I." Alex saw Daisy circulating and her expression turned pensive. She glanced back to Faith, not liking the Daisy's usual mean spirited mood, "Uhm, someone may mention it so I suppose I should. Mark and I used to date. We're better as friends and it really wasn't serious but some people here like to, you know, make trouble for him. I don't wanna see you in the crossfire, though."

Taylor sighed, passing her hand over her eyes wearily before she pushed out of her chair and stood up. Her dark eyes looked old in a face that couldn't have been much older than Erin's. "He's a sadist along the lines of the most terrible doctor you can imagine. He has an army of nurses in his mammoth hospital in Nihilor." Taylor spoke as she searched for a scrap of paper on her desk. Her tone was grim as she smoothed the paper out and began sketching from memory, "The city is the crown jewel of Omega's home and the hospital is immense. In addition to the nurses, he also can summon up his successful - to his mind - abominations. This doesn't include the poor wretches weeping for death in their hospital rooms. In addition to the hospital's own forces, the city is protected by any number of Omega's minions. Like most things in the dimension, the hospital's layout changes but here's what I remember." She finished the rough sketch and pushed it over to Erin before returning to her seat and steepling her fingers, her expression shuttered.

"Just because a world seems empty of sentient life doesn't mean it is, or even will be. By saving one world, you may condemn another. It isn't fair or unfair. It simply is." Taylor said with a soft sigh, tucking the blanket into her lap, "Understanding the larger picture sets us apart from super heroes that never struggle with those types of moral quandries. You'll be called cold or unheroic. This is why the superhero career of most mystics is short lived."

Sorry! Catching up now. In this thread is fine, I think we can time lapse forward to doc's call?
