Stunting: Drain (Necromancy) 8 (extra: alt save: will) link Boost (Con) 12 (extra: alt save: will) Phantom is now fatigued.

Phantom stripped off her gloves quickly, although it took some effort to peel the tight leather off. She said matter of factly and quickly. "I'm going to have to use myself as the converter. It may or may not stop my heart but worst case scenario, I'll be up again in about a week or so." As there wasn't time for any real ritual, Phantom reached her bare hand up and slipped it between the layers of cloth covering Avenger's throat, her fingers wrapping around the back of his neck and her thumb over where the pulse would be. If, of course, he had one. "Breathe," She instructed him firmly, knowing he usually didn't. "This should burn the power out. It will only be temporary. I'm so, so sorry." She reached out with her other bare hand, not hesitating as her warm fingertips found the same place on Dead Head's dessicated neck. Her lips were twisted down but with worry not disgust. She pressed her thumb into the junction of his neck and jaw and it was like a circuit closing. From the runes, to Dead Head, through Phantom and into Avenger. Phantom's cowled head bowed with strain, her breathing rasping as her body struggled to keep up with the damage caused by tapping into the realm of the pure necromantic. The hand against Dead Head went cold and white, the fingertips blue tinged while the skin against Avenger's neck burned with fever.

Alex shrieked as yet another student cannon balled into the pool, sputtering with happy laughter. Her braid was already dark with water, as she was hardly the type to keep her hair dry. She dodged around Mike's back as a slight war of splashing broke out to grin at Erin. Mike's sheer size made him a good barrier between the crowd and the pool. Alex nudged him with her fingertips to try and get him to make more of a pocket of space as she answered Erin, "They're walking back up now." She floated up a little higher, pressing on Mike's shoulder as she waved vigerously at Mark and Faith, sending her thoughts rather than trying to be heard over the crowd, 'Hey guys, we're over here! Come join us.'

Alex cast a wistful look at the bookstore but Erin knew full well the time it would take Alex to shop in a bookstore. Hours, or until she was dragged out. Shaking herself, she sighed and said, "No, no, I'm good. I have some trashy books to read. There's nothing else I need to shop for today. You sure you're done?"

"Oh, I'm not the leader. Edge is," Psyche replied distractedly. Her gaze swept over her team, noting everyone's physical and emotional states with a faint frown on her brow. After she was convinced no one was in dire need of urgent attention, she swung her hazel eyes back to the gentleman asking the question, "Thank you, but we'll be alright. Nothing we can't handle." She said the last with quiet confidence in the abilities of her friends. Psyche turned and pressed her hand against Phalanx's chest, forcing his invulnerable skin to heal over the canon's blast before she held out a hand to Edge, saying gently, "Want me to fix up your costume for you?"

"Well, if my skill set is neccessary, I rather imagine they're looking for something a little more subtle than sending the Allies in guns blazing," Talya murmured as she flipped through the dossier with a keen eye, "If I were a betting woman, my money would be that there's someone or something quite specific that's our primary goal." She crossed her legs, the narrow pencil skirt pulling taunt with the gesture. Talya closed the dossier and looked up, tapping one slender fingertip against her full lower lip thoughtfully as she added, "Something rather nasty if I don't miss my guess."
-
"Oooh, vampire secrets. If I ask real nice, do I get to learn the secret handshake too?" Taylor teased him, lacing her fingers together behind his back after she stopped protesting. Taylor leaned in to press a lingering kiss on the pale column of his throat. "I do like learning new things."
-
Alex laughed at Chris's teasing and replied cheerfully, "I dunno if fragile's the right word." She turned around and patted Mike's very solid chest once for emphasis, fingertips splaying out on his bare skin. It was her turn to blush but she smiled and floated up to peck him on the cheek with a quick. "Thank you!" As she took the bottle back from him and quickly finished the rest of her skin. Tossing the bottle back on the pool lounge, she floated back down to the ground until her bare feet hit the pool deck. "Last one in is a rotten egg!" Alex followed Eddie's entrance to the pool, although she dove in rather than cannonballed.

Talya arched one delicate eyebrow up higher, her expression betrayed nothing but mild amusement at Ace's probing and she turned to face the door as the Russian entered. She waited for the paperwork to be handed around and the formal salutes with the bare minimum of patience. Talya had never been one for strict regimes, which is why she was a much better spy than a soldier. After he had the 'at ease' nod from the commander, Talya extended one hand as a smile curved her lips. "I do so love a man in uniform. ЗдравÑтвуйте. I'm Natalya Browing, codename Bombshell. Как Ñ‚ÐµÐ±Ñ Ð·Ð¾Ð²ÑƒÑ‚?" She interspersed the Russian 'Hello' and 'What's your name?' seamlessly with the English, her accent unnoticable except for the lack of a regional inflection.
-
Taylor laughed quietly as she moved around his desk to brush his bangs back and press a quick kiss to his temple, "No, just girl talk. We plotted about how to spend your hard earned money on clothing and Stesha asked me about the doctor's. Nothing too interesting, I don't think." She straightened back up, her tone questioning, "Stesha was asking if she and Derrick were still sworn to secrecy. I said no?"
-
Although she'd been dragged from plane to meeting directly, Natalya stepped into the room on one peeptoed shoe and offered one deceptively delicate hand to the rougish American. She flashed him the smile that had dazzled more than one Nazi into giving up their secrets and arched the one brow that wasn't obscured by her waving golden hair. "Ace Danger? I rather think I've heard tell of your reputation." Her voice was clipped, the accent posh and elegantly British but her smile was entirely wicked, "Tell me, Captain, is it entirely deserved?"
-
"No idea," Alex said cheerfully as she gave the bunny a final pet and brushed the fur from her hands, "I don't get surprises often so I'm trying to avoid topics that bring it up. It takes Mike some real mental gymnastics to keep things from me so I don't want to make it harder for him. I'm sure it'll be a nice surprise."

The Good, The Bad, and The Extra dimensional (IC)

Taylor gave Grim a smile and gestured with her fingertips placatingly, "Thank you. You can grill me later if you'd like, but lets deal with your space cowboys here first. I didn't exactly tell Jack I was doing superhero work when I lft the house." She accepted the paperwork with a little snort of profesional disdain, "As if the league has the time or ability to regulate interdimensional activity.... Yes, I know of this cluster of worlds. They're time shifted, if I recall correctly." She handed the paperwork back and glanced quizically to Grim, "Are they still in the city do you know? Tracking them generally involves a lot of teleporting and spell casting and then more teleporting. More of an art than a science." -
"We'll start telling people as it comes up, I think. Its still a little hard to talk about without having to go into how we managed it in the first place. We'll tell our team, I imagine and then just others as it comes up. I can't exactly hide in my apartment until the baby's born. I have to attend classes, and all of that normal life stuff." Taylor waved her hands at 'normal' and smiled. Nothing here was ever like normal. "So I think you and Derrick can have your sworn to secrecy status removed but I can check with Jack just to make sure. He's probably retreated to his office again."
-
Alex grinned at Erin, shaking her head at her friend, "I dunno if he'd recover." Alex was vaguely pleased at that thought though and when Mike came back over and mumbled another compliment at her feet, she beamed at him and performed a cheerful spin so he could see the entire outfit, "Thank you! Would you help me with my sunscreen? I don't want to spend the rest of the party as a lobster." She wiggled the sunscreen bottle at him, making her hazel eyes wide and innocent. "Please?"

"Making it warm is well within the scope of James' abilities. Personally, I'm always sad to see the snow go. This is my favorite time of year," Alex said cheerfully. She went to the pen for the bunnies to stroke a fingertip over their soft pelts. Alex was an easy shopping buddy, she never minded the time spent in the pet store. Giving the floppy ears a last pat. "I wonder if I'll find out what Mike's been hiding at the party. I can always tell when he's up to something. He frames his thoughts to me so carefully, over focusing on each individual word." Alex grinned, entirely unconcerned.
-
"No, wait!" Phantom said but a moment too late as she unravelled the meanings of the runes, "Oh, no!" She dashed into the room, cloak flaring out behind her. Her gloved hands hovered over Dead Head, only an inch or so over his skin but she didn't risk touching him yet. She spoke quickly to the others, "All that energy they were gathering is in him now. DeadHead, don't do anything. If you accept the power, Samedi can infer a deal." She drew back her gloved hands and muttered, "We'll have to draw it out and put it in something. Avenger?"
-
Taylor dutifully accepted the present and turned to demolishing the wrappings with good cheer. She was mildly uncomfortable with being the focus of everyone's attention but in a good way, really. It was a mark of how far she'd come in a year, from having colleagues as Phantom to having friends as Taylor. "Is it pants?" She teased Lynn as she opened the box. Phantom's costume was ever impracticle, much to the heroine's internal dismay. Thank Heshem for the huge cloak otherwise she'd have to never be seen in public.
-
Alex chuckled at the mental image and shook her head as she said dryly, "I don't think it works like that somehow." She wrinkled her nose, and gave a little shrug, "Yeah, I'm planning on playing it by ear as well. Sometimes James' scene is most definately not my scene. But open mind and all that, you know. It could be fun."
-
Alex beamed at her, "Mark and Faith headed that way but I didn't want to follow until we had a few more people." She quickly stripped down to her suit, shucking off the tshirt and jeans before stuffing them into her bag so that they didn't get lost or end up with sand kicked in them. She'd picked dark blue boy-cut bikini bottoms and paired it with a white and turqoise striped string bikini top. There weren't a lot of colors for Alex, but then, there wasn't really a lot of cloth. She paused to pull the barrets out of her hair and pulled it back into a quick braid instead as she fixed Mike with a somewhat challenging look. "'Kay, I'm ready."

Alex glanced around and frowned. She turned to James, asking curiously, "Erin's not here yet?" Even as she waited to answer, her eyes took on that unfocused look as started expanding her senses outward automatically. It wasn't really that she was worried, more that Alex 'looking around for someone' covered a good deal more space than your average person.

Alex chuckled and declared, "Strip monopoly! I dunno, they might play spin the bottle or something. Or that one where people end up in the closet." She stopped and window shopped along the way, childishly swinging the bag with the swimsuits in it when she dashed forward to catch up to Erin. "I've never been really good at video games but I like watching everyone else play. I don't know, though, I've never been to this kind of a party before. Just seen them on sitcoms. Then an episode or two later someone ends up pregnant."
-
"That would be wonderful. I would really like to get out of my frumpy jeans and college sweatshirt look," Taylor agreed wryly, "I should really just be grateful that I don't feel sick to my stomach anymore. Although the teleporting still makes me a little dizzy. I haven't had to stop to be sick in the bushes before dealing with the bad guy in a few weeks which makes me happier than I can possibally say. She wrinkled her nose and finished the last of the food in the carton, setting it back with a thump and a happy sight, "That was really, really tasty. Thank you."
-
Taylor's expression softened and she let out a soft sigh, "I think I've just been to scared to attach to that. I mean, it was so far off the table for our life that it might has well have been in Africa. I didn't think I could have kids, I knew Jack couldn't but, yes, it is amazing and more than a little terrifying. Not just because he could have our powers but because he might not. Barring violence, Jack and I will live forever." Her fingertips brushed her still flat stomach, almost tenatively, "We have no way of knowing what this little guy will be able to do. I hope he gets Jack's eyes though. My mom has blue eyes so its at least possible." She smiled then, her cheeks dimpling at Stesha.
