Alex eyed her friend judiciosuly for a moment before she nodded her agreement, "It suits you. Its enough you to not seem awkward but it isn't the utilitarian look you normally tend towards. The silver is pretty." Alex smiled and scooped out a few suits of the same cut as the two piece she was wearing but in different colors and put them in the 'keep' pile. "I'd vote for it in like a turqoise but the silver looks really good on you"
-
Alex wiggled her butt one last time at the mirror before reluctantly agreeing, "They cover up the fact that I don't have much of a butt either, but you're probably right." She shimmied out of her suit and into one that was simpler but a sunny yellow. She frowned at it for a moment before taking the bottoms off and matching it with the bottoms of a different suit that was a hot pink and beamed, "Oh, mix and match." The suit bottoms were cut low in the boy's style and the top was a halter top that Alex thought would stay in place. She wandered over to Erin's pile and pulled out a silvery suit that had the top and bottom held together at the sides with rings, "What about this?"
-
Taylor rolled her eyes at him, dropping her hands on what remained of her waist as she cocked her hip to one side. "Nothing says little boy nursery like wards on the walls and metal plates bolted over the windows. Jack..." She trailed off and went up to him, slipping an arm around his waist and tucking her head against his shoulder, "The steel shutters are plenty protection and we can paint them to look less grim. So, blue or some sort of nuetral color? There were all these themes but I don't think I really want to do like Noah's Arc." She frowned and added in an aside, "Really, I don't know how that became a children's thing in the first place. It's a rather frightening tale, actually." She shook her head and turned to look up at him, "It should definately have a rocker. Every nursery has a rocker.

Alex quickly stripped down to her patterned underwear and began cheerfully at the bottom of the stack. She pulled on one of the less childish but still ruffled bottoms in a racy red with black edging and pulled the top on. She tugged a few times at the cups and bounced before frowning at her reflection, "I guess, at least, I have boobs now? I swear, I thought I'd be flat forever. Its still not a lot." She twisted around to shake the ruffles at the mirror and giggled, "Its like flamenco meets swimsuit." She slanted a glance at Erin's suit and frowned, "I know I say it a lot but I think you need more color."
-
Taylor visabally winced at the idea of more mad science but shook off the shudder and took a step away from Jack, holding her arms out to her sides loosely. "Do I just... stand still then? I assume that phasing and such is strictly out of the question." Her brow creased and she gritted her teet as she waited for Archevielle to scan or probe or whatever he felt the need to do now. Her muscles were tense below the skin, but she focused intently on not shifting out and away from the doctor as he did his neccesary work.
-
"I guess, I mean, if you like it. It doesn't smell like it tastes very good and everyone who is affected always thinks that they're impressing people who are usually just laughing at them..." Alex frowned with her usual furrowed brow of trying to understand the human condition. As Mike set her down, she landed on booted feet and began stripping off the layers and layers and layers of clothing that she'd worn to stay warm on the way over. Eventually she managed to reveal the t-shirt and jeans layer of her outfit where she paused, "This is really nice, thank you for inviting us, James."

"Yup!" Alex enthused, bounding forward with her suits in hand. She weaved through to the dressing rooms and, after getting her plastic number, popped into one and held the door open, "Did you wanna share? I mean, we pull them on over our underwear but I'd rather not have to wander up and down the hall wondering if I look silly to find you so that you can confirm it." Alex grinned and lifted one shoulder in a slight shrug as if to say she'd manage if Erin wanted her own stall.
-
Alex sighed and shook her head, "I just want him to be a little more..." She fluttered her hands, at a loss for words for the moment before she settled on, "Normal teen boy but that's probably a pretty tall order considering all the Claremont teen boys. I don't think any of them can really lay claim to normal. Oh, well." Alex eyed it and said loyally, "You should try it on. You don't have an ounce of fat anywhere. That's the key requirement to wearing a bikini I think."
-
"Oooh," Taylor enthused, quickly flipping it over to scan the back. She paused to grin at Jack, her cheek dimpling as she teased, "You might even enjoy them. These are the classics, Jack. Everyone should love the classics." She leaned into kiss is cheek and thank him, "Will you even manage to not make commentary about how unrealistic or prejiduced the films are? Is that part of my present too?"
-
"Sucked through a worm hole into a deep quandrant of space along with everything else in the room, Taylor provided as she walked over with a few books in hand, her expression grim, "Where it created a black hole. But, if we can't get in contact with our Dark Star, there's a good chance that he's contained him somehow. It is highly, highly unlikely that he's killed his opposite in this world, if he even can. That, I would have felt the ripples of. Reality tends to scream when you do things like that despite what that silly movie 'The One' would have to say about it, it's just not that easy to kill your alternate part. Nature abhores a vacuum and all that." She thumped the books down on her desk, "I remember the device, though, and while I'm not so hot on the science, I might be able to duplicate something with magic."
-
Alex shrugged and then nodded, "It shouldn't take too much time. I think it'll be easy to tell which ones make me look like a stick." She wrinkled her nose at the PDA mention and complained, "I'm not sure if I'm more yicked out about all the PDA because I used to date Mark and Zoe's my child from the future, or because I'm still trying to coax Mike into doing something more than holding my hand like I'm made out of fragile china." She looked concerned, "Does that make me a bad person?"
-
Taylor dropped the magazine back on the pile with a thump and stood up, looking as unhappy as Jack currently felt, "Well, if I don't miss my guess, he's going to compare the samples from you from the ones he's taken from me to try and figure out what... it is." She stuttered over word choices, including a vague gesture to her mid section. As they walked back to the doctor's lab, Taylor asked in an undertone that she hoped wouldn't be overheard, "You don't think he's going to keep the creepy hologram of me, do you?"
-
"It's all your money, that was my point," Alex sighed and let it go. "The whole team will be there, I'm sure. All wearing skimpy suits, like at my birthday no doubt. I don't know who else James is inviting. I mean, he's got a huge list of friends and people he works with now. Uhm, probably Faith." She paused and wrinkled her nose, "Chris might bring his girlfriend if he's come clean about the powers, but I doubt it. If Eddie and Zoe haven't broken up by then, they'll both be there."
-
Alex took a moment to send the thought winging over to Seven before she patted Mike's hand, "Silly, speed of thought is still faster than speed of light. It's already sent. I'm a telepathic telekinetic," she explained to Faith cheerfully, "And if the Pitchoo is too crowded, Mike and I can fly. That's not a problem."

Alex eyed the admittadly skimpy outfit then shrugged and added it to a stack to try on. "Investments are going well enough to not worry about the price. For you either. Your stock portfolio is quite healthy," Alex grinned. More than healthy but she didn't think Erin was quite ready to hear that. "I think you could even afford two. We'll just charge them to your profits this month. I promise that I'll deduct it from your account and not just pay for it myself all sneaky like." She turned back to the rack and began haphazardly pulling suits in her size to try on in a wide range of colors.
-
"Weeeeell..." Alex blushed and hesitated, turning an interesting clashing shade of pink, "Yes and no. There's some parts of Mike's head I stayed out of for my own sanity's sake when he was going through puberty - Except for a moment of curiosity that I very much regret - and now I'd probably have to pry to find things out and I don't wanna really see if he fantasizes about Lady Liberty or whatever because that would just be weird and awkward." She lifted one shoulder in a delicate shrug and began poking through the offerings with a focused look on her face, "He likes black but he's started to add back in color to his wardrobe which is nice."
-
Taylor rested a soothing hand on his shoulder, squeezing him gently, "You're not going to get evicted out of the family, Jack. You'll always have me and my parents will come around. Mom's just hurt and worried, both of which can be dealt with." She gave him the smile that released both dimples in her cheeks before she started to unfasten her saftey belt and slip out of the car, "That would make family dinners easier again. There's only so many times you can have a business meeting or an urgent call, or fall ill without it getting weird. Of course, weird is starting to become par for the course around here." The last was muttered in a slightly disgruntled tone as Taylor wiggled out of the car. You never realized just how much you took for granted your mobility until it started to grow irritatingly impaired in some fashion. Bucket seats and the growing inability to bend properly at the middle did not go well together.
-
"You really didn't have to. You've already gotten me so much," Taylor protested but she accepted the wrapped box after snuggling back against Jack's side before carefully pulling off the glossy paper. Jack really did have a tendancy towards high shine black. Taylor didn't even know where one would get wrapping paper in that color but she was somehow unsurprised that Jack knew.
-
Alex frowned, looking from the plain (boring) swim suit that Erin held to the two in her hands doubtfully, "But... cherries?" She wiggled the suit and sighed before putting it back. "This is hard. I've never dressed for anyone's tastes but my own before. And I looked at magazines but those didn't help. I don't have the, uhm, assets." She waved a hand at her chest as if it wasn't clear from her statement, "Also, they looked uncomfortable. Or like they would fall off. I don't want my top to come down when I'm roughhousing in the pool."
-
"I dunno. The manor has an indoor pool but that's hardly the norm," Alex said cheerfully pushing the suits on the rack back and forth, "On the bright side, it makes it like the one non-crowded store in the whole mall. What do you think, cherries or chilli peppers?" Shopping in the petites had not helped Alex's taste one bit as she held up bathingsuits that were really better suited to eight year olds. Color blind eight year olds. Who like frills. Lots and lots of frills. Smiling brightly, "Which says, 'look how cute and sexy and totally ready for second base I am'?"

"That thing's a portal to the terminus. I think tossing it in the volcano would destroy it. James?" Psyche deffered the question to the teams resident expert on interdimensional antics and then glanced over to see the fight to free Mark. Frowning, the petite psychic reached up to put both hands to her temple. Her power was a matter of will and focus and no one and nothing was going to keep her from using it to help her friends. With a crease of concentration, she touched her fingertips to her temple and focused on the tube that held Edge, "Red rover, red rover..." The lights changed and spun, dials frantically fluctuating until the whole tube glowed with the distinctive corona of Psyche's sparkling power trail. She exerted a little more pressure, forcing the tube to yeild Young Freedom's leader. "...let Edge come over!"
-
Hokay. I would like to note that as a PL11 psychic, Psyche's close to or on par with the Scarab so I think the 'just a telepath' label is a bit unfair How does Machine Animation 14 (Extra: Range: Perception) (42 pp) on Edge's tube work? She'll use her mind to take over the device and force it to unlock and eject Mark. Hopefully unharmed :D

Taylor scowled briefly at the mention, huffing under her breath with remebered outrage. If Taylor could scrape up enough to stomp on, she would have. It had been such a lovely wedding, too, "Stupid, stupid arrogant creeps." She tossed her head back, shaking her hair out of eyes that were blessedly normal and brown despite the outrage in her frame, "I'm just glad it was only the reception. Makes me feel like a private ceremony was an excellent plan."
-
Taylor blinked as the swordsman drew her aura into his hands and formed some sort of weapon out of it, automatically taking a wary step back to Jack's side. Her eyes were curious as she watched the flickering blade, "That's a... unique power. I'd appreciate a warning before you grab big handfulls of my aura if you can. It's a weird sensation." She shrugged, tucking her hands into her jean pockets and turned her gaze back to the walls of the library, "I suppose, I'd be best see if I can find something to hold Dark Star. Some modification of the demon containment circles maybe." Her muttering faded from English to Arabic and then to Hebrew as she wandered away from the group to run her fingers over the leather backed spines of the books.

Alex gave Eddie a quelling glance, "There's a good way to get everyone detention for skipping on training. Why don't I just send a quick explanation to the girls RA and tell them we're spending some time helping a new student get situated and shown around. I don't think anyone will mind as long as we're not ditching. I don't really want to spend time in drills with Mr. Archer, personally."
