  1. Alex cocked her head but didn't disagree about Mike. Alex was aware enough that even if their relationship never blossomed into more than friendship, their psychic link meant that no one could ever mean more than that relationship. The link was too deep, too old. "What about Mark?" Alex said thoughtfully. If the idea of suggesting her own boyfriend as a possible dating partner was weird, it didn't seem to occur to Alex, "He's sweet and cute and good at kissing. And has no psychic link holding him back."
  2. "Erin! Mark!" A cheerfully exuberant redhead called out as she all but jogged down the steps to catch up with them. She was a slightly built young woman with large hazel eyes. Although slightly hidden behind a rather hefty stack of books clutched to her chest, she was still visible enough to be clearly dressed in a riot of colors. From her hot pink long sleeve t-shirt to the sparkly green butterfly clips holding back her red curls. She was a little breathless when she stopped long enough to give the stranger in the group a cheery smile as she tried to juggle books enough to free up a hand. "Sorry, I'm Alex. Alex Albright. Nice to meet you."
  3. Alex twisted, her hands full of catalogues only to smile at the besotted expression on Erin's face. She put the brochures back as she called out to James, "Erin found what she wants. We'd best get it before she talks herself out of it."
  4. "How come?" Alex asked curiously as she floated gently to the ground to look at Erin, "I mean, how come not anyone?"
  5. Taylor moistened her lips and her gaze skittered away before returning to Jack. The words playing with fire came to mind. She knew eventually she'd have to either accept all of what their relationship entailed or walk away. She wasn't quite ready for that yet, but, oh, she had missed this part of their relationship. "Do you?" She teased, "Then you'll have to catch me." With a flick of her wrist, she dissapeared in a swirl of shadows only to reappear from beneath the water a few yards away. Her husky laugh drifted back to him as she slicked her dark hair back from her face. Except for the dark glitter of her amulet, the pale curve of her shoulder was bare under the moonlight.
  6. Taylor Chun Phantom The Eye of Heshem
  7. "A team with a witch and a vampire? Now that will be something." Her cheek dimpled in the rare sharp but playful smile that he was more used to seeing below the cowl of her costume. Things had been so very serious lately that it was a relief to laugh and banter with Jack. Even if they had to go half way around the world to do it, "Look out, Freedom." She paused then turned their path for the water, her smile turning flirty in a way that it really hadn't since she'd found out. "Do you swim?"
  8. It certainly was much nicer to cuddle without the jacket. She wasn't sure why the Avenger jacket had pokey parts to it but it was probably better not to ask those sorts of questions. Taylor nodded and slipped her arm around his waist. It was pretty, certainly, and so much quieter than the city. She couldn't see as well as Jack but the moon was bright enough that Taylor could make out the beach well enough. It wasn't like the dark bothered her any. "So, now what?" She asked after a moment of silence, "With things the way they ended, what do we do now? Just go on with our own costumed careers?"
  9. "I think we should relax." Taylor said promptly. She didn't pull away as the arm slid around her shoulders, which was certainly something. "I still can't believe you said that! I'm not a coward." When her body relaxed enough to lean against the leather of his jacket she pulled back and frowned, "I can see why we don't cuddle in costume. Between my cloak and your jacket, it would be near impossible." She held out her hands for it, "I can put that in the void, if you want."
  10. OOC thread. Picks up where Avenger and Phantom leave fallout. Thread is located here: Fallout
  11. ((You can follow Jack and Taylor here))
  12. ((Continues from Fallout)) "Heroes are just people with masks. You're the one who pointed that out to me," Taylor said with a sigh as she sat down to take off her shoes and socks. Slipping them into the void, she stood up and dusted the sand off the seat of her pants. She took her time catching up to him, her pace relaxed as she tucked her hands into the back pockets of her jeans as she added dryly, "You are right that tearing the scabs on peoples wounds was probably not the best tactic. Let tempers cool for a bit. There was a lot said in that room and none of it can be taken back."
  13. Taylor slanted a glance at Jack while Arrowhawk talked and silently turned her palm up to his. It was answer enough to his question. Her fingertips closed around Avenger's gloved hand, and she paused to incline her head to the gathering and let Jack say any last words he might have. Enough words had been spoken today. Really, perhaps too many words For those that she would talk to after this, Taylor planned to contact them personally. Her hand tightned and without fanfare, Taylor teleported them out of the Lair and away from the city. Sand crunched softly under their feet as Taylor deposited them on empty beach. Before Jack could ask she smiled and explained, "Same planet, different time zone. First thing that popped into my head."
  14. Taylor shook her head but her posture relaxed, "It's fine. It just... You caught me off guard with that is all. All I saw on screen was, well, the end." She paused, realizing he might not have known and said as gently as she could, "Your dreams were being projected on screen. That's what Dark Star meant by 'not giving anything away'." Taylor bit her lip again as that seemed an even worse violation that putting Jack through hell, was the fact that it had been on display for everyone to see.
  15. Sorry, the train of thought I had going vanished when the board crashed. Q's character notices the cave wall section that's slightly different for the rest. A little discolored and slightly less dusty. It is vaguely door shaped.
  16. Taylor threaded her fingers through his and her cheek dimpled under the brush of lips against her skin despite her somber mood. She turned her face toward his and asked wistfully, "Do you really think so? I mean, walking away from the mask isn't an option, not for me but its hard not to wonder what else I could be. Especially nights like tonight." Nights where the price to pay far outweighed the meager benefits. "Of course, without it, I wouldn't have met you. I wouldn't have done what I've done and seen everything I've seen. Do you think it's worth it in the end, Jack?"
  17. This time Taylor stared at him until he added the caveat of 'creepier than that sounded' and simply explained that he was unable to handle a relationship. Which was better, Taylor guessed, than killing her while she was pregnant. Although it did make her wonder if this was the start to a break up speech. Taylor's internal meanderings did make for an interesting series of expressions that flickered across her face before she settled on a vaguely wary, "What do you mean 'relationship like that'? What's wrong with our relationship the way it is now?" Despite this being her first relationship, Taylor was pretty certain that this was not a good conversational opener.
  18. Taylor blinked at him, her expression almost comically shocked. If the situation had been different, it might have been amusing to see her thoughts quite so effectively derailed. Those were dreams that she'd given up on although at one point, they'd been very dear to her. After all, she came from a large family, it had been only natural to assume that was what her future held but the day she'd assumed the Phantom mantle, well, it wasn't exactly a career choice that was compatible with the family and the house with the picket fence and a dog. "Oh," she finally managed and moistened dry lips, "Oh. Well, then." She cleared her throat and finally glanced down before she couldn't help but ask, "It ended poorly, I assume?"
  19. Taylor gave an uncomfortable little shrug and admitted, "It's hard not to think of them as seperate people. I mean, I talk differently, I walk differently. I have to tell myself not to phase, not to cast. It just feels like one more mask so often." She let her cheek rest against his shoulder and said quietly, "Only somedays I'm not sure which one's really me. If any of them are."
  20. Phantom firmly believed in letting her actions speak for her, which is why she didn't trade banter merely floated to the side of her companions and took aim at Arachnos. She fired a crackling bolt of eldritch lightning even as the wings of her cloak flared back to reveal the void inside. As soon as the lightning left her fingertips, she began to gather a second charge.
  21. Taylor pulled back to stare at him, leaving her arms loosely circled around his waist. After all, she'd only seen the blood spattered end of the dream sequence and it took even her quick brain a few seconds to catch up to what Jack was saying. "Wait, what child? Whose child?" The words tumbled out, her voice rising at the end.
  22. After pausing a moment to stare in abject horror at the giant monster, Hellion's words jerked Psyche back to the present as she began to push buttons and pull levers with a reasurringly calm focus. "Right, right," she agreed as she twisted the dial and flipped a few more switches, "It'll just take me a second or two. Don't want to miss anyone. Or worse, splinch us in a wall." Finally, she threw the large switch that should if her calculations were correct, send them off to meet up with their friends in America, before running to jump on the pad.
  23. Phantom realed back, shocked as she felt the solid blow to the jaw. Blinking to clear the stars from her eyes, she could do little more than shake her head as the punch had caught her completely off gaurd. It's what I get for relying on being intangible all the time.
  24. "I'm not sure that's such a bad reputation to have," Taylor said consideringly as she played with the fringe on the throw pillow with her fingertips, smoothing the strands out so they lay flat against her leg, "If nothing else, you were underestimated. That can be handy." Taylor smiled wryly, "It's not a problem I have with Phantom. I mean, if nothing else I know how to project confidence that I don't always feel. But as just, you know, me. No one ever thinks anything of me like this. Even after breaking my boss's nose, he doesn't think I could take him in a 'real' fight."
  25. "You could come out here on your own now, Mike." Alex pointed out, sidetracked from whatever prepped question she had on Oort clouds to beam up at Mike. She slipped her delicate hand into his larger one. Think of all the wonders you'll see.
