  1. Added descriptors, let me know if you need any additional information there.
  2. Janus Danger Power Level: 10/12 (182/192PP) Unspent Power Points: 10PP Trade-Offs: +2 Attack / -2 Damage, +2 Defense / -2 Toughness In Brief: Swashbuckling Scion with Something to Prove Catchphrase: Theme: Imagine Dragons - Thunder, Seanan McGuire - Earthquake Weather Alternate Identity: Janus Danger (Public, Prime), Prince Janus of Aruivia (Public, Freedom League Dimension Designation; Earth-O-Eldritch-2 (Allied), Local Designation: Fortuna) Birthplace: Wintershold, Capital of Aruivia. Residence: Claremont during the school year, Danger Manor when not in school or in Fortuna. Base of Operations: Claremont Occupation: Student Affiliations: Claremont, Danger Industries Family: Janus is the middle child of Queen Antigone of Aruivia and John Danger II. The Danger family tree grows more convoluted every year, especially with the predilection towards adventure that seems to run in the family. In Janus's case, it led to their father finding an entirely different dimension that he quickly found himself a destined hero in. Their immediate family remains in Fortuna but they visit the Prime-side relations at least a few times every year so they are reasonably close to their father's sister, Rachel, and the rest of the Danger diaspora. Description: Age: 16 Apparent Age: 16 Gender: presents masculine, uses they/them pronouns Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5' 10" Weight: 165 lbs Eyes: Violet Hair: White-blonde to rose-red ombre. Janus is lean and angular; fresh out being all legs and arms. They are definitely on the handsome end of the spectrum, with classic Danger good looks melding with the more exotic lines from their mother. Training and exercise has been part of their daily routine since they were old enough to toddle, so they have more balance and grace than a teenager fresh out of a growth spurt really ought to have and more muscle than might be guessed with their long, lean body. Janus dresses like something out of an early 1980s fantasy movie, a la David Bowie or perhaps like they are waiting to be called in for a Takarazuka Revue performance. It could look ridiculous but they wear it with the sort of casual confidence that kids of this world wear jeans and a cool jacket. Since migrating to Prime for schooling, Janus has pierced their ears several times, wearing silver hoops and studs to match the multitude of rings that they are rarely without. Over their right eye, Janus has a starburst shaped birthmark that has a silver-sheen. It glows along with their weapon when they draw out their soul sword. Janus dresses in high glam but masculine attire and is often wearing low heeled boots that add another couple of inches to their height. They are fond of Earth based cosmetics and often uses those to heighten and accentuate their already sharp cheekbones and striking eyes. History: During the mid 70s, Janus' father took his first trip to Fortuna, originally as a Freedom League affiliated envoy. John was already an experienced veteran of adventures but he found his true calling in helping restore Antigone to the thrown of Aruivia and, in time, they fell in love. Fortuna was significantly dissimilar from Earth. Although the magic of Fortuna fell more into the sword-and-sorcery arena than some of the more high-magic worlds, the dimension itself ran off the power of narratives. Stories have Power in Fortuna, as does belief. As the namesake and grandson of one of Prime's heroes, John brought that power with him to Fortuna, allowing him to form it into mystical weapons and armor. It was that power that he used to help Antigone and together, the two brought peace to the kingdom of Aruivia. Janus is the middle child of the couple. Their elder brother has their father's good looks and commanding presence, while he has their mother's sense of justice and compassion. As the crown prince, he's slated to take over the royal duties one day. Their younger sister embraces all that being a princess entails. Though still a child, she is kind and gracious and gifted with an emerging ability to forsee the future. Janus loves their siblings very much but as the middle, rebellious child, their place in Aruivia's story may take a darker bent as the narrative of the world presses on her to fit into expectations. It was with a heavy heart that their parents sent them to their father's relatives but it became clear that Janus's physical prowess was beginning to eclipse their older brother. They hope that free from the pressure of Fortuna, Janus can take their own path. Whether that will be the actual case, remains to be seen. Personality & Motivation: Janus is brash, bold and daring. They are both genuinely courageous and kind although they are often driven to prove their self. They think nothing of engaging in dramatics as its expected by the idiom of their native land. Despite often taking summers or vacations on Prime, they still retain a bit of a 'stranger in a strange land' vibe, especially as they make little to no effort to change their self to conform. Janus' primary motivation is to be true to their self, and find the Hero within. They wholeheartedly believe that their Soul Sword is a sign of their inner potential and that it is both their responsibility and their gift to bring it to its full potential. Unfortunately, this means that they can be both stubborn and defiant when dealing with any authority trying to push them to act outside their morals. Powers & Tactics: Janus' relies on their physical prowess. Trained to defend their self with sword and fist since they were young, they are skilled at hand to hand combat although they are most comfortable with a sword in their hand. They are a flashy fighter, in part because they have fought side by side most often with their brother who, as the heir to the throne, is more important. Janus has accompanied their father and brother on ogre hunting missions and the like since they were old enough to engage in live combat. Being as they are from the Danger family, that was definitely on the younger side. They are used to making them self a target to draw attention away; a tactic their sibling is not overly fond of. They have a natural gift for witty banter, one that has only grown since spending more time with their Danger relatives. In addition to being highly skilled, Janus can draw their soul sword from their breast if they deems the threat worthy of it. Eldritch armor covers their arm from shoulder to fingertip and a glowing blade forms in their hand, drawn from their own essence, providing them additional mystical protection and weaponry. Power Descriptions: Janus' world is one of magic; where the rules are proscribed by the power of tales and legends in the minds and hearts of the people. Their soul sword and the armor fluctuates depending on their sense of self, so as long as Janus' heart is pure, the magic glows silver-white and the manifestations are solid and strong. At the moment, their power covers their shoulder down to their fingertips in armor and manifests in a single blade. It is possible that they might make different energy constructs with time and practice. Should they change or falter, the magic will manifest differently. Complications: Oh Fortuna: Janus carries with them the power of their mother's world but that is a world with its own beliefs and structure. Those are rules they have to follow. Self-doubt or despair weakens their mystical abilities and, in moments of true crisis, could render them without those powers entirely. Fame: Although there are a lot of perks with taking on some of the face of Danger Media, sometimes being a public figure can cause real problems not only for Janus, but for those they call friends. Responsibilities: Not only does Janus have a title and public duties when they are home, but they are a member of the Danger family. Not only does that mean they inherits some of the considerable enemies that the family has made over the years, but it means that in addition to school, they have whatever responsibilities to their family and their businesses that might come up. You are late for your one o’clock meeting! 3. With a hood pulled up and oversized sunglasses, Alex's disguise was minimal at best but the occasional gentle psychic nudge kept most people from looking too closely. She was well aware that her presence might incite the crowd if it was remarked on, but it was her particular cause. The fear and hate of the crowd battered at her mental shields in an exhausting tide. Silently, she slipped her hand into Mike's much larger one with her lips compressed into a flat line. Squeezing his hand, she drew on the mental anchor of their psychic bond to bolster her senses against the panic. This is worse than usual, Alex's mental tone was bleak. Devoid of her usual cheer. She took these demonstrations personally, not only because of who and what she was, but her the failure to stem the tide of fear always registered as a personal failing. Alex always did take too much on her shoulders. It's troubling. The children of our generation are just old enough to start having their own offspring. Modeling terminus-energies in second and third generation offspring is, well, troublesome to say the least, but chances are good that there will be another handful like us; different from birth. Alex did not add that their own future offspring would almost certainly be among that number but it certainly colored her mental tones with a more personal shade of worry. Children should get to be children, Mike.
  4. Sure, I could toss Psyche into it! She is a famous t-baby.
  5. Nighthawk's growl had been low, lost in the combat. Giving Riley a grateful look for the assist, she lept when her feet were finally freed. Not away - no - but to put herself in the Alkahest's rampaging path. She knew how much those fists could hurt and she certainly wasn't about to let it pound on Riley's mother. She landed near silently, more out of habit than intent and began to bounce and weave in a dizzying display under the Alkahest's nose. She danced lightly at the edge of where she knew the monster would be able to reach without putting on an extra burst of speed. With her blood pounding in her ears and the acrid smell of gunpowder and blood in the air, Nighthawk realized she trusted these people. She trusted Raina to make the hardest call between love and responsibility. She trusted Riley to do what he was born to, and to remember that this world was not that one. She trusted Matt would stay on his feet, even when by all rights he shouldn't. And Robin trusted Fred to make use of any opening she had. "Your not our Alkahest, but I imagine you still really enjoy punching the big target, right?" Robin said as she danced back another nimble step, all but encouraging the monster to grab her and bite. "Come get me."
  6. Full defense and then a bluff to help draw the Alkahest's attention towards smashing Robin and mebbe giving the Solution an opening! Spending an HP to gain the Acrobatic Bluff feat Bluff: 24

  9. My God. Knowing that her one time allies were still using war-tactics was one thing, seeing it actually play out on this scale was entirely different. Her heart hammered behind her breastbone, even if her elegant features might as well have been carved from marble. The sidearm remained in its holster, snug against her ribs and concealed against her jacket. Action, not reaction, Talya. Leaning into Jack for a moment while her mind marked the beats and pauses of the steady fire of bullets down the hall, she murmured close enough to his ear that her lips brushed against his cheek. "Left side, back pocket." The trick to the kill box, was to disrupt the rhythm of it. It was a little like the world's most terrible music, and if you knew the beat - then you could dance. Bombshell's fingertips ghosted along Willow's ribs in mute reassurance as the thief vanished between one flash of light and the next, trusting her honed skills to dance unseen through the hallway filled with a hailstorm of gunfire and towards one of those protected pockets, and trusting those she left behind to make use of whatever opportunities she could provide them. This moment, really, was why Talya had never mixed relationships with teamwork. It was one thing to have a teammate vanish and hope they returned well and whole; it was an entirely different level of fear to work through when that person was beloved.
  10. No rest for the weary. Even if Taylor didn't have the need to sleep, all creatures needed some sort of rest. Without letting the sigh slip past her lips, she rose to her feet. Heshem never expected answers, simply action. The gods of the Cosmic Coil were not ones for long conversation. Still dressed in a jeans and a comfortable sweater, her feet in warm socks, she let the connection to Prime fade enough to turn her body into a ghostly echo as she floated up through the floors to find her spouse and say goodnight to her children before turning towards the heart of the old mansion; her library. As she ghosted through the door of her Sanctum, additional wards flared up at her passing. It had been a long time since she needed word or gesture to inflict her will on the world and here she was strongest of all. The comfortable clothes dropped away as shadows twisted into the comforting weight of cloak and cowl; the Eye of Heshem at her throat remained familiar and warm against her skin. Inside her sanctum she let her senses spin outwards to find the disturbance that had so angered Heshem as she braced herself for whatever atrocity would rouse that dread goddess to actual temper.
  11. As soon as the man held in Nighthawk's implacable grip went stiff with mind control, her fist froze in mid air as if she, too, was caught in the thrall of the power of that voice. It was clear, however, that whatever power that imbued the Fens native - or perhaps simply her stubborn strength of will - protected her from the weight of those words. She dropped the frozen guard with a noise of disgust and turned cold, grey eyes to the man clapping. "You ain't the first person to underestimate us. Won't probably the last," Nighthawk said flatly as she squared her shoulders and feet in a protective stance, her expression unafraid and edging close to actually angry at the cowardice of using pawns. "Wanna tell us what you want now, or you wanna go a couple of rounds first without putting innocent folk in the way?"
  12. Will Save: 27
  13. Going to activate Talya's concealment: And then crossing the field of fire towards the heavy weapons users. Let me know if you want any rolls for that? The plan is to set up for taking out one of them to whittle down the fire.
  14. Thanks, Ari! Following.
  15. Phantom didn't look overly concerned at the angry Deep Ones at surfacers on their boat, but it would have quickly become a very bad day if she had a Claremont student to protect in the face of something that registered at 'actual threat' for Phantom versus 'This is Tuesday'. The portal closed without so much as a look or a gesture and she floated above the deck of the boat - her gaze glowing and white under her cowl. She swept that baleful gaze first over the Deep Ones to ensure that Aquaria had things well in hand if it became actually violent to take in their surroundings. When SFX stepped behind her, Phantom assumed it was out of a sense of self preservation and for the first time since meeting SFX, the mage turned entirely solid as if to provide a better barrier. As her booted feet hit the deck, it was clear that when standing the woman was significantly shorter than one might have guessed; cloaks added volume. "You're only missing out on some quality invective. Apparently the Lemurian tongue provides some truly filthy insults." Phantom's voice sounded dryly amused as she turned enough to take the teenager in from the corner of one eye. What little could be seen of her expression was surprisingly kind as she added more quietly with the assumption that the two heroes closer in age to SFX were occupied with the threat to not hear her reassurance, "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you."
  16. Is 16 enough? Orokos continues to hate Phantom a lot
  17. Without much fanfare, a white light appeared - easy to mistake at first as the light glinting oddly although any one with the sense to tell of dimensional or magical disturbances would sense the tang of the Master Mage arriving. The fabric of her cloak unfolded from the light with the mage herself unfolding from its voluminous folds with an almost inaudible pop of air displacement. "Ah, good." Phantom said as she appeared in place. She paused to take in Jessie's new accessories with a long, inscrutable pause before she continued without providing comment on her arms, "We are ready to depart then?"
  18. Ray chuckled and took the phone almost gingerly. He was comfortable with new technology - cognizant of how it worked, certainly - but there were a few tells that he was much, much older than a man in his mid thirties. How he held a cell phone was absolutely one of them. "Cute kid," he told her, catching the clear family resemblance. "How old?" He went to put his information in dutifully, sticking his information under 'Ray' and leaving the last name blank. He had one, at least there was one on his driver's license, but it wasn't something he generally considered his name unless he paused to think. "Hate talking on the phone personally. It's a necessary evil, though one that's thankfully less a part of modern life than it once was. It's just strange listening to someone and not being able to see their face or body language. Don't like it."
  19. Nighthawk's jaw clenched. Sometimes she really loathed being right. People doing dodgy work in a Fens warehouse were pretty much never up to any good and this, really, took the cake for bad things that could have happened in a warehouse in the Fens. "Close. The. Portal." She gritted through her clenched teeth towards Raina and her parents, winding up her fist to hit the Alkahest as hard as she could. The blow that would have knocked a steel door off its hinges reverberated down her arm but barely. Fred's new 'look' she could give barely more than a nod to. "This needs to be on the other side," she told their Fred, really hoping that the intelligence in the Solution's eyes was on their side. Otherwise, Robin really didn't know what she'd do. "When it does."
  20. Power Attack: 17 Which is not enough so HP for the reroll. Have to power attack since Alkahest has that impervious 10 Reroll: 23 Thats a PL12 TOU punch to the jaw.
  21. Nighthawk: 23
  22. Phantom had been apparently paying attention to the side conversation enough to tune in to the discussion of the artifacts. She sighed, the sound hollow and echoing but still somehow sounding beleaguered for all that, "Any actual artifact with magical potency is only going back to owners who are not going to misuse their properties." It was a sweeping enough statement to cover all swaths of people, "In the case of truly dangerous items, I'll see to their storage personally." The master magus let the statement hang in the air for a long moment before continuing, and answering SFX's question herself, "Siren and Sea Devil's people have a long history of enmity, unfortunately. It's to their personal credit that they can put aeons of war aside for the cause of the greater good." Gesturing with one hand, Phantom opened a portal into the space holding the artifacts that still needed to be cataloged and returned, or stored. The magic opening shimmered in space, with edges that bled light almost too bright to stare directly into. "And almost no superhero is all that fond of me. Shall we?"
  23. Normally, Bombshell would have faded into the shadows to wait for the time to strike, but this was no normal engagement. They would know, of course, to keep a watch for the former spy, so she made it easy. Stepping gracefully into the center of the newly created doorway, she gave a laconic salute with one booted foot perched on the opening as if she were posing for the cover of a magazine rather than making herself a very pretty target to for all the men gearing up to fire. "You know, if you hated the fruitcake so very much, you could have just said so," Bombshell taunted, her red-lipped smile sharp enough to cut. The words were clipped and clear as if the woman gripping her kitchen table with white knuckles had never existed. "No need for all this... trouble."
  24. Ray chuckled; a low, bemused sound, "I meant my rules. Angels, you may have noticed, tend to be overfond of them. They go hand in hand with order and all that. I'm not supposed to leave the earthly realms until I've finished my learning. Much like our demonic counterparts though, the devil's in the details. Your sanctuary still falls under a broad enough definition of 'earthly realms', that I shouldn't get any disapproving lectures." His tone made it rather clear that he wasn't really all that concerned with the risk. Lectures were often at worst, something of a nuisance. He straightened as she stepped away before rising to his full height from the stool to lean over her and offer his phone number. "I have no doubt you could manage but the phone is less likely to startle one of my artists into stabbing a client," Ray said with a crooked grin of his own. "It tends to lead to bad Yelp reviews when that happens."
