Phantom blipped out silently. She didn't know what the fight was about, nor did she care. At the moment, the city was burning and she had talents that could be better put to use elsewhere. Returning to the burning section of Riverside, she glanced around to do a quick survey before teleporting down to the bivouac where the national guard where deploying to see what help she could offer.

"Well, I know the psychological games always affected Mike the most at the facility. A lot of people don't like their heads messed with," Alex grinned up at him, quickly polishing off her breakfast in short order, "I just find it interesting but it's harder to catch me with that kinda stuff than a lot of people. Which is a fair trade off 'cuz I can't lift even my own weight much less a car." She scuffed one sneakered toe against the ground thoughtfully, "Do you miss your family? I mean, you don't have to answer, of course. But I was just wondering if you find it weird to be at a boarding school instead of home?"
-
In short order, the car pulled up outside of the distinctive steeple of the old church. It took a few minutes to find a parking spot downtown but in a matter of minutes, James had the car parked and everyone was grateful to be able to pile out. By Mark's reading of the map, they were looking for some hidden sigils, possibly even a tunnel that led down under the city proper. It wasn't clear, however, if that was inside the church or merely on the surrounding grounds.

Does that mean Phantom's up?

I'll get us moving along : )

Of course. Phantom diverted her attention from going down to talk to officials. She was certain Ace Danger knew them all by name anyways. Teleporting straight up to Scarab, Phantom made certain she had the co-ordinates for their landing firmly fixed in her mind before the folds of her cloak enveloped the armored psychic. After a moment of endless black void, Phantom depostited Scarab inside her lair's med lab. "Simple."
-
"Probably," Alex agreed with a smile and nudged her backpack under the table with one foot. "She's been awful busy lately with trainings. I haven't had a trip to the Doom Room yet. How 'bout you?" She quickly set into her breakfast tray with enthusiasm. As usual, Alex had mostly healthy fare along with a small desert. An ex-athlete, Alex's mom had been a real stickler for eating smart with junk food only for special treats. "I hear Erin complain about Mr. Archer all the time though."
-
Alex showed up early and without Erin in tow. It didn't take a psychic of Alex's calibur to know that Erin hoped to get a chance to drive James' car today, or that her presence was required as she was better at convicing people to do things than Erin. Alex was happy to go along with the plan as it seemed harmless enough and would give her a chance to better get to know this member of their team. "Hey, James!" Alex greeted him cheerfully, her pink-flowered backpack over one shoulder. As usual, she was wearing an eye-jarring combination of colors. Alex had opted for a long sleeved shirt in brilliant yellow that had red chilli peppers running up the sleeves. Over that she'd 'matched' a short sleeve shirt in a vivid lime green. She smiled at James and slipped into the chair next to him, announcing, "I'm early."

'Really? I bet Mark'll be pleased. Sure, I'll head down there in a few minutes. I'll let Mark know and see if he wants to do his leader-thing, Alex's cheery thoughts bubbled through Mike's thoughts. She was working on some last-minute pre-term reading but there was always time to meet someone knew. Mike felt her attention fade as she turned her thoughts towards carrying the message along to Young Freedom's team captain. Her mental tone was cheerful with optimism as she found Edge's thoughts, 'Hey, Mark! Mike's found a new student that's interested in the team. I'm heading down to the quad to meet them.'

Okay. HUGE UPDATE. Every single complete character pic has been re-inked. As has Picnic in Liberty Park. The only exception to that is Moira's picture. That I'm going to re-do completely. With those changes complete, I'll be back to working my way down the request list.

"Not to mention the training programs existant have some serious flaws in their approach. In the facility I was in, despite the wealth of therapists, they really never did get past treating us as possible threats." Alex opinioned as she flipped through the paperwork. She closed her folio and folded her hands on top of it, "Despite their best efforts, that really has led to some long term psychological damage for a few within the program. I know I'm better adjusted than most that came from my facility and I think that's honestly due to my nature more than a successfully implemented support structure."

They made their way swiftly to the well-aportioned manor that the private collector in question called home. The particular individual who had picked up this fine volume was of the new money. The manor lacked any real panache that you might find in North Bay, but it screamed both 'I have a lot of money' as well as 'I have very little taste' It did however have a very pricey looking security system. Scarab was able to tell from a distance that from the blinking lights on the outside of the house, no alarm had been tripped. Also, she noticed down the block was a rather odd scene. An unconcious man appeared to be bungie-corded to a lamp post with a little old lady standing over him in some sort of odd watch. The woman in question looked to be well past her sixties and she was clutching a battered purse while frowning at the groggy-would-be thief. She had a cell phone clutched in her hand and was looking down the street, first one direction and then another.

Phantom will hold her action until after Knight goes.

Alex blushed and then wrinkled her nose at Eddie and vounteered with her usual candor, "Mark took me out a few days ago. It wasn't, like, a secret or anything. It just hasn't really come up, I guess." She pointed over to the Free Fall enthusiastically, "So I'm sure we can get a ride in and then meet for dinner back here. I vote pizza and ice cream."
-
"Dinner and a movie, so, a few hours at the very least. It's no big deal, though. I can check on where they are from anywhere in the city. It's probably pretty fortunate that I think this is my first time not staying where I was put," Alex volunteered from her place squeezed in the backseat with a cheery smile. She turned her face back down to the map that Mark had, pulling her pony tail over the other shoulder as she asked questions about the various markings.

Quickly, Psyche relayed the options to her companions over a mental link. Once she'd projected the rather rapid series of images, she opinioned, 'The one currently drugging themselves would be the easiest but I think we should go for the woman and her servant. The lab's abandoned and Whoop-Ant might be on our side if we take her out. If not, I think we can deal with them both. What do you guys think? Psyche started moving towards the woman as she communicated with her compaions. She hadn't had a lot of field training but she was sure that staying in one place too long wasn't a good idea.

"Six it is. I'll see you then, Jack. I certainly hope your week goes a little better in the meanwhile." The smile was finally back in her voice. A beach vacation might be out, but she was going to spend the evening at least doing something that she wanted to for once. No homework, no crime-fighting. Maybe a good book and a hot bath... "Call me if anything comes up."

Fortunately, Taylor was high enough in the air that she wasn't in danger of smacking into buildings as she blinked once or twice, "I'm going to assume that you don't work in the porn industry then. No, I wasn't the sibling that went into medical. I can tell you that my mom complains about the company the hospital uses pretty often over dinner conversations. Dinner with three doctors is always super-appetizing, let me tell you."
-
Taylor chuckled at that. It was a tempting option. The reading she could catch up alone... "I s'pose I could find something but I'd end up missing our movie night." Taylor pointed out as she scooted off the rooftop and began to float back towards her part of town. There was no point in patroling tonight if there wasn't even going to be a measly robbery. "I think I'm just going to hope the week's got to get better from here. How's your night?"
-
"I don't think Stesha's lying to me either. She admitted how messed up she was and I know that has to alter your perceptions. I did get the impression that some of her opinion on the matter came from a conversation with Moira after the fact." Taylor frowned on her end of the phone and shifted to cross her legs under her on the rooftop ledge. She sighed before picking up the thread of the conversation once more, "I believe you, Jack. I believed that you wouldn't do that before I picked up the phone. I am strongly considering hiding for the rest of this week, though. It's starting to look like a really good time for a vacation."
-
On her end of the phone Taylor did blush before she made a face of displeasure. Hearing the blow-by-blow account of one's boyfriends activities with perhaps the most attractive woman on earth was an experience Taylor planned never to repeat. I must have done something truly unpleasant in a previous life. Clearly. "I figured as much," she said in what she certainly hoped was an even tone, "Stesha believes her sequence of events wholeheartedly. While I said that it didn't sound like either of you, I think she just thinks I'm being naive." The irony of that wasn't lost on Taylor but she wasn't in the mood to smile over it.
