  1. Works for me! :)
  2. Alex slipped out of her seat as soon as the car parked, making certain she had her purse before she shut the door. She wasn't used to carrying one as she generally had a back pack instead but even Alex knew the backpack wouldnlt go with her look. Tucking it over her shoulder, she threaded her free arm through Mark's and looked up at him with lively curiosity. "Since you are clearly the museum vetran, you should decide what we go to see first." She suggested, snagging a musuem map as they headed inside.
  3. "I've got Phalanx. Lemme tell him where we're at. He's with the others in a small room with some people." She offered appologetically to her group. It wasn't the most detailed of information tidbits. Alex obediently bolted her pizza, listening to James translation. Once James had roughly translated his transmission, she swiftly sent back to Mike, 'We're in Japan! Kaiju Island. I have H, Breakdown, and Hellion. Where are you? Are you in danger? Is anyone missing? We're safe for the moment but we need to move soon I think.' Firing off rapid questions to Phalanx she turned to her group expectantly, "I don't think we can stay here. I can fly but I can't carry anyone. How far can you teleport, Hellion?"
  4. "What about me?" Alex repeated for a moment, almost as if surprised before she turned thoughtful, "Well, once I realized I could do things others couldn't, I wanted to use them to help people. So hero work was kinda a natural progression. Other than that, I think I wanna do psych work as a grown up. Maybe work with missing persons. I mean, there's so much good I can do with my powers once I'm grown." She spoke with an animated enthusiasm, her gestures quick and her eyes sparkling. Helping others was something Alex was personally passionate about.
  5. "Shhh, everyone calm down and quiet down for a second. Let me see if I can find the others, or at least where we are. Hellion, see if you can store up what pizza we came here with. We might be here for a few hours." Alex said with a calm tone to her voice as she stood up and held out the pizza slice she'd been holding, "Breakdown, check the air waves. See what's out there. She gave Agent H a reassuring look, "You're good at the whole fighting thing, I know. If I project my senses, can you make sure I'm safe if anything shows up? It takes all my attention to search around."
  6. Notice: 30, Behavorial: 24 (28 w/ Eidetic Memory Bonus) Psyche is running her enh Wis.
  7. "I guess you could say the Terminus Invasion was the last fight my mom was in. She was at the hospital for a tour during it all and got a bunch of women to safety. So they figure being so close to one of the portals while pregnant s'what caused my powers," Alex said, pride in her mother's actions apparent in her voice. "You've wanted to be a super hero for forever, haven't you?" she asked after a moment, her tone curious.
  8. "I really like it here," Alex agreed with enthusiasm, as she tucked her hands in her lap. She was equally happy to move off the subject of the Incident, "I've always had my powers. Like, forever. It was just one more sense I developed. Do you know where yours came from? We're pretty sure mine came from the whole Terminus Invasion." She smoothed her skirt out again with a nervous gesture and glanced up at him, "How long have you been a student here?"
  9. "I don't mind talking about any of it," Alex replied honestly, her expression open and thoughtful, "No, I know my mom tried everything she could to get us out of the program but it wasn't really bad. I mean, they didn't hurt us or anything. The League would have stepped in then, but they were just studying us." She hesitated, fiddling with the hem of her skirt for a moment, "And they were trying to help. There was this boy - when we were just little kids - and Mike hit him like little kids would. Except he flew accross the room and cracked his skull against the wall. We could have been a danger to society, I guess, and they couldn't tell. So in a way, they were protecting the world from us. They were government sanctioned, even. In the end, though, I think that's why the study ended. My mom called Mr. Summers and now we're here."
  10. Well, personally, I can say that while it does affect where I put my extra PP from NPCs and things like that, as I put them all on my PL 10, it really doesn't affect who I play more often.
  11. "Anything's fine. Even country," she joked, remembering Eddie's particular foible about that kind of music. She fiddled with the locket at her neck and smiled at him, "It's already special." Alex turned towards the front, watching the other cars go by as they drove out of Claremont and into the city proper, "Well, of all the kids in the facility - and there weren't many of us - I'm only close to Mike. We were collected at the same time, and knew each other before. I mean, they kept us pretty seperate. We'd go in like normal school time, then sit with psychologists and researchers and teachers now and again while they figured out what we could do. We weren't really supposed to go out a lot unless we were monitored in case we were dangerous. It wouldn't have made a very good date."
  12. "Oh, I know," she agreed with a rueful smile and slid into the car. Alex carefully tucked her skirt around her legs and automatically reached up to fasten her seat belt while Mark walked around to the other side of the car. Once he was in, she twisted in her seat to look at him and picked up the conversation thread once more, "I just haven't done this before. I mean, go on a date, not ride in a car obviously. So, it's all new, you know? Social nuances are complicated." It honestly never entered into Alex's head not to explain her reactions to Mark.
  13. "Hopefully its the gentlemanly thing to drive until I get my liscence cuz' otherwise we're gonna end up super-heroing it around next time," she wrinkled her nose at him playfully before she smiled, "I'm easy going and I like museums. Honestly, I'll probably be more comfortable there than I would be at, like, a club. Or whatever else kids do for dates." She frowned and looked down, clearly trying to remember what else was normal to do on dates from observation of television and other cultural references. Other than going to the movies and parking somewhere in the car, Alex couldn't think of any other standards. And knowing about clubs as a dating place was only from having spent time with Eddie.
  14. Alex blushed as he took her hand, ducking her head slightly but she threaded her fingers through his and silently prayed for her palm not to go all sweaty and weird on him. Between that and managing the stairs in heels, she was quiet for much of the walk with an occasional "Mmmhmm." Or "Oh, yeah." Once they reached the bottom stairs, she piped up again. "Still, its nice of them to let you borrow the car. Especially since we all have other ways of getting around the city, but I don't think I'd wanna go flying around in this. I'd probably go all Cinderella on you and lose a shoe somewhere. They don't buckle. Makes me understand why super-heroes wear boots. So what part of the exibit did you want to see the most tonight?"
  15. "Yup! You have excellent timing. I just slipped on my shoes!" Not that it was surprising with his luck. Alex sometimes wondered what it would be like for everything to function under the laws of kismet, but it usually ended up making her head hurt. And that was saying something in and of itself. She accepted the vase with a smile of thanks and set it neatly on the corner of her desk before she gathered up her small purse and shut the door behind her as she fell into step with him, asking curiously. "Are we driving there?"
  16. Fortunately, Alex wasn't the type to linger over her mirror so she was ready before six. Having washed and dried her hair, she'd taken the time to brush it out straight and curl the edges a bit before pulling it away from her face in a loose clip. It was, of course, one of her sparkly-clips, but this one at least was a more subdued white than any of the usual eye-blinding colors. Clipped back, it curled softly down her neck and shoulders. She wore the dress that had been so carefully picked out with Erin, with it's red fitted bodice and the cheery geometric print skirt that swished just above her knees. She'd even broken out a pair of low heeled sandals and a simple locket for a necklace. It was probably a good thing that Mark was a little early as she hadn't really had time to start to fret as she'd been focused on getting ready. When the knock came on the door she did have a moment of jitters. Telling herself to not be such a ninny, she opened the door to smile up at Mark, "Hi... Oh! Those are lovely!"
  17. "Nope, I'm good. You need anything while we're here?" Alex asked, holding the bag at her side as they left the department store, "We should grab dinner but we can get sandwiches to go and eat at home or on the top of some roof on the way back if you want." She swung the bag lightly, a spring in her step and her mood cheery. It was a good day. Things were back to normal with Erin, she had a new dress and her very first date tonight and for once she was just going to enjoy the moments and not plan ahead. It was entirely a weekend of indulgence, but in a healthy way.
  18. And I'm going to hold off on putting up my IC post as I think the two of you had readied actions that I'd like to resolve the order of everything to minimize IC editing.
  19. Move Action: Teleport 100 feet up Free Action: Switch Array to Blast Standard Action: Blast Attack on Vestige: Critical Hit: 30 ETA DC 29 Save for Crit. Standardly a DC 24 Toughness
  20. Alex gave Eddie a vaguely grossed out look from where she was cutting her pizza neatly up with a fork and a knife. "Is this really like what the meetings the adult super-teams have?" She asked Edge curiously once she could look away from Eddie and his rhymes, "I always thought they'd be somehow more... super-hero-ey. Less like a school club. I guess that the social paradigm isn't that different although the emotions and motivations of the players probably are a little more dissimilar." She trailed off with the end of that, more musing to herself then the group at large.
  21. She couldn't help but laugh at that, shaking her head slightly as she selected her bottle and paid for it. She made a mental note of the bottle that Erin was looking at and tagged the thought for when Erin had a birthday or maybe for Christmas. Alex was slowly gathering a list of things her friends would want for their special days, but Erin was one of the hardest to shop for. "I'm not so sure he'd be flattered by that description. I'm kinda relieved we're going to a museum, actually." Alex smiled and tucked the purfume in her bag, "I'll be way less nervous doing that than going dancing or something like that. A movie would be fun but its not something you really get to know each other doing, you know?"
  22. Alex glanced up as Mark got out of the pool. It was poor timing as Mrs. Albright called out from the doorway and Alex nearly jumped out of her skin. Shaking her head, she floated over to her parents for a quick goodbye. "Enjoy your party and have fun, sweetie! Remember not to fly too high. Bye, kids!" And with one more teary wave the parents were gone and the kids were left to their own devices. Alex floated back over to the pool and scooped the ball out of the basket and tossed it back at Chris and Eddie's end of the pool as she sank into the water next to Erin. "Mom's not so nervous about the neighbors noticing us flying anymore. She used to freak out when we were kids though. We had the tallest bushes around the whole fence. Hard to believe she used to do the superhero thing."
  23. Phantom watched the kids swing off to the warehouse for... peaches? She shook her head once and teleported to them once they reached the roof top. "...I don't sense any magic, however. I suppose that could be muffled too if someone was intent enough on hiding their activiteis. It does beg the question of what could be worth all that effort to hide."
  24. "I'm going to drop them off at a shelter until their owner can pick them up. They'll be fine." Phantom assured him, winking out of existance as she finished the sentance. True to her word, she teleported to the nearest shelter and with a few brief sentances gave them the woman's name and and that she'd lost her house in Riverside. Unfortunately for Phantom, she had to go solid enough to grab each cat out of her cloak and hand it to a vet tech. By the time she'd retrieved all yowling, hissing and crying felines, she was grateful that her gloves were leather and full length. Otherwise, she was afraid her skin would have been shredded clear from the bone at the end of this particular episode. As soon as the felines were safe in the care of much more competent people to deal with any injuries from the fires they might have sustained, Phantom blipped back to the rubble. Even having been in the midst of it, she still had her breath taken away by the extent of the damage. There was still clean up work to be done, however, so she accessed the Scarab's mental network to locate the next group of survivors.
  25. Phantom jerked her head away fast enough that she wasn't blinded but she still blinked once or twice to clear her tearing eyes before looking through the mingled flashes and smoke from the gunfire to take in the weapons pointed at them. 'I don't know, I've never tried to hold a forcefield against a rocket launcher. At least that looks like a rocket launcher' was probably not that best response so instead she tilted her head at the enemies and lifted her chin in an approximation of a shrug, as her hands and shoulders were occupied with the forcefield "Fifteen seconds. Ten, maybe?" She tightened her lips and amended it to, "How about, as long as I can hold it against heavy weapons. Will that work for you?"
