  1. There was a sickening pop-crunch as Breakdown's spike connected with Mystic Force's nose-bridge and the younger boy went down with a gurgle and a broken nose. Psyche floated down onto the field as the aforementioned transistor spun up with a whine then slowly began revolving down like a top that's lost momentum. The golden glow faded to a soft white and in the stands the people began to stir as if waking up for a slumber. "I'm not sure how much good that'll do if we run now. These camera's have been recording and transmitting for most of the fight." Psyche picked up one of the small camera-bots and powered it down, "I figured that the mind-control field was more important so I shut that down but I'm pretty sure we're going to end up on the news. If not Youtube. And we can't leave the Pitchoo. What's the plan now?"
  2. 1d20+8=16 He's disabled, staggered and stunned, bruised * 2 at her first hit. Phalanx is going to interpose I believe for the second attack. Let's have those rolls AD.
  3. Phantom, as usual, was doing that irritating thing where she tracked Grim based off her unique magical and dimensional signature. Which meant that she ported into the center of the boys, rising up out of the roof of the warehouse between the kids, cloak billowing as she looked around for Grim and instead saw two teenage boys. For Grim in the shadows, the expression of surprise followed by the nose wrinkling at the sandwiches was probably priceless. Phantom recovered quickly, floating up between the boys and drifting around the roof's surface to find Grim. "Why would I want your sandwich?" She asked, almost absently, as her voice echoed hollowly.
  4. Mind Control, DC 16 Will save
  5. "She started it!" Alex said in hot outrage that might have been amusing given Alex's usual temperment and general threat level. Unless, of course, one counted the psychic prowess she was clearly ready to use. She lifted her chin at the other girl defiantly, her posture bristling with outrage as she narrowed her eyes and focused on wresting control of the girl's mind away from her.
  6. Phantom floated up, letting the edges of her cloak frame a man-sized doorway to the void. "I can take everyone inside and take you to where-ever you wish to arrive. It is not a pleasant journey but it should take no more than a minute or two."
  7. Round Four (Bold for characters okay to post) Wander: 25, 3 HP - Uninjured Breakdown: 24, 3 HP - Bruisedx2 Edge: 21, 4 HP - Uninjured Phalanx: 19, 1 HP - Uninjured Geckoman: 18, 3 HP - Uninjured Hellion: 9, 2 HP - Uninjured Mystic Force: 8 - Stunned and Staggered Psyche: 7, 1 HP - Uninjured The Tech Kid: 6 - Bruised I need to double check status on PCs, so let me know if I have anyone incorrect up here.
  8. Mystic Force took the bolt of electricity in the chest and was staggered to his knees by it, his robes singed and smoking. While Phalanx yanked away Tech Kid's lightsaber. "Alright, that's it!" Picking Edge out as the leader, Tech Kid raised his hands and fired off electricity from his palms at Edge in blue arcing bolts. Psyche stuck her head out of the booth as Hellion mowed down the last of the bots. "Okay, I'm good, I think. We'll have to shut down the last of it on the field down there. There should be a big red button on the transponder - that's the ball thing - should be the last step and everyone will wake right up."
  9. 1d20+8=12 Mystic Force is staggered and stunned. 1d20+4=14, 1d20+4=7, 1d20+4=11 None of the bots escape Hellion's wrath. 1d20+4=21, 1d20+4=11, 1d20+4=12 Or make their toughness saves. Ka-fwoosh! The only enemy on the field able to act is Tech Kid. He's going to unleash his last attack, targeted at your fearless leader, Edge. Reflex save DC 20, Toughness Save DC 25
  10. Once Grim was satisfied that there was no one else in the spacious penthouse, she was able to give her attention to the rooms themselves. Of the most interest that she found was a fresh pad of notepaper next to the answering machine which still had a blinking red light for messages: "Pumpkin, it's Daddy. Sylvia and I were dissapointed that you missed our little get together. Please try and make it next time. You know how it upsets your stepmother when you're a no show. - BEEP!" "Hey, 'Nightshade Vervaine', you gonna pick up your books of magic or not? I ain't holding these forever, ya know. - BEEP!" "45th and Oakleaf. You know the drill. - BEEP!" The last message was sinister and to the point. There was something about the voice that was familiar to Grim, on the same sort of primative level that let her control her shapeshifting. The voice was dangerous and slick as oil. Phantom flipped her hood back up and pulled a few objects out of her cloak, laying them on the couch. One was a cracked mirror, with an odd red glass surface, and the other was what looked like a crystal ball. "This..." Phantom said, tapping the glass with one glove, "Caused a simple rave to turn into an all out blood fest. Three nights ago. The crystal ball, two nights ago, allowed a two-bit hoodlum to rip off his gang-member bosses. Both times, instead of being able to go right to the items, they appeared to bounce all over the city to my scrying.
  11. "We, too, were attacked by interdimensional individuals." Phantom's hands slid to her side once more, dismissing the arcane energy that had come to her hands as the gate opened without warning. Dark Star, at least, she recognized, "These two are from the same dimension that you have returned from. I am Phantom." With that introduction, she turned her attention back to the gateway that had brought them here, keeping a wary eye on it lest it be used to track their current activities.
  12. "Oh, I'm not a prodigy, per say. There's no one realm I'm especially good at. I do test at peak-human potential on most tests designed to gauge intellect and that sort of mental potential, but I'm not exceptional at one arena. Honestly, my theory is that my meta-talent is an exceptionally adaptable mind. It grows whatever direction I push it in." Psyche returned the smile and beamed at the wings, "I wanted to fly more than anything and I finally managed it by figuring out how to move myself with my thoughts. I'm still lousy compared to other flyers but its one of the neatest things probably ever." "I WISH I could have been there. I got to listen to a recording, though. The teacher I debated on it was a psychologist. She thinks that sentience is limited to humanity. Its a narrow-minded opinion in my estimation,"She turned her attention back to the doctor with a cheerful grin, much more at ease as a research subject than as a fellow dinner-guest, "I'd be honored to be a subject of research although you may have already read a paper or two on me, already. I'm the Psyche project. I was one of a handful of kids in utero when the Terminus invasion happened and pretty much always been telepathic. True telepathy, ESP, and all of that."
  13. Phantom ghosted through the ground, winded from the effort of casting off the cuff as it were and searched for Dark Star blindly. Although she didn't need to breathe, that didn't help her see through concrete any better than she would have if she were solid. Still, she made her best guess based on the path he'd been falling on when he fell into the earth. "Dark Star?"
  14. The shield shattered under Breakdown's assault, leaving the bot wide open for the full brunt of Breakdown's attack. With an alarming squeal, parts began to ping lose from its casing. "What are you-- NO!" Tech Kid whirled and managed to shove Mystic Force out of the way as the Bot began to explode with bolts of electricity lancing around the teens embattled on the field. Mystic Force pinwheeled close to Edge which seemed to be the only safe spot on the field as his older brother took a blast to the chest with a grunt of pain.
  15. Mystic Force / Tech Kid Reflex Save: 1d20+1=11, 1d20+5=11 Toughness Save: 1d20+10=15, 1d20+10=21 Ouch. Well, have a HP, Edge, for me fiating that toughness save. Tech Kid is bruised however. The bot's going to fail it's reflex save and have a catastrophic failure on its turn, exploding with electric energy. DC 19 reflex save for those within the area explosion, DC 23 Toughness save. For those within the range: Wander and Breakdown will need to make the rolls to avoid the bolts of electricity. Have an HP for the setback. Edge, you're immune to your power effects so you will be safe from the explosion.
  16. Round Three (Bold for characters okay to post) Wander: 25, 2 HP - Uninjured Breakdown: 24, 3 HP - Bruised, Fatigued Edge: 21, 3 HP - Uninjured Big Bads: 20 - 2 robots (Mystic Force and one Robot behind shield), Other robot's sheild is down Phalanx: 19, 1 HP - Uninjured Geckoman: 18, 2 HP - Uninjured Hellion: 9, 2 HP - Uninjured Mystic Force: 8 - Uninjured Psyche: 7, 1 HP - Uninjured The Tech Kid: 6 - Uninjured Robot Patrols: 5 - 3 Robots Left Bold characters are up before I post again. Italicized status means I am still waiting on saves or responses.
  17. Hellion's fire rained down on the combots, sending several to their shrieking droid demises. From the flames, three managed to pull themselves from the fire with the one in the lead blasting back at Hellion. Down on the field, the Tron started to creak ominously as Phalanx slammed his shoulder into the struts before it went crashing down in a shriek of twisting metal. The green field surrounding the audience began to flicker while the device in the center of the field beeped furiously, with the colors on its dials and diodes all changing to red. As Geckoman lept from the Pitchoo, more of those colorful balls of light homed in on him, with the other half zipping towards where Breakdown stood in the stands amidst the wreckage of a droid patrol. --------- Psyche gave Hellion a cheeky grin through the open door of the control room as her hands rapidly pushed switches and pulled levers although with some sort of intent obviously in mind. "Thanks! If you can buy me some time, I'm almost positive I can turn it off without frying everyone's neural synapses!" She reached under the control console and pulled out some micro-circuitry that had been attatched to it. On the field the green glow around the audience changed colors to a soft yellow. "Thirty seconds or so?" --------- On the field, Tech Kid closed with Wander, moving with a surprising amount of grace into a flowing combat stance. It was doubtful that anyone of the kids would recognize the bold movements of Juyo. He closes with Wander, the blade flicking out in sure, solid strokes. It did not leave searing injuries in its wake, instead it delivered a shock of pain that left the skin with all of the nerve pain of an injury but without a wound. It did however, burn cloth and other non living substances it encountered.
  18. Combots attempt to dodge Hellion's hellfire: Fail: 6 (1d20=8, 1d20=5, 1d20=4, 1d20=11, 1d20=5, 1d20=2) Suceed: 3 (1d20=16, 1d20=16, 1d20=16) Toughness save for Robots: VS DC 21: Failed: 4 (1d20+4=8, 1d20+4=18, 1d20+4=9, 1d20+4=12) Succeed: 2 (1d20+4=23, 1d20+4=24) Toughness save for Robots: VS DC 18: Suceed: 1 (1d20+4=20) Failed 2 (1d20+4=16, 1d20+4=11) Mystic Force will fire another 'magic missle' at Geckoman and Breakdown on his round using his split attack to send four bolts at each teen. Attack on Breakdown: 1d20+8=22 DC 19 Toughness Save Attack on Geckoman: 1d20+8=28 DC 19 Toughness Save Psychewill use her eidetic memory on a Tech check to see if she start to shut down the grid, switching to Int on her array as a free action: 1d20+17=30 Tech Kid will attack Wander on his round with his lightsaber: 1d20+10=16 That was awful. Although it doesn't hit, I believe: DC 25 Toughness Save for reference. (mostly for my reference ) The remaining combots will attack Hellion, or try at least. Ouch. Two of their guns jam: ( 1,2,2 ) The one with a working gun will fire at Hellion. :1d20+4=11 Not going to hit. For reference, DC 19 Toughness save. IC post to follow.
  19. 1d20=19
  20. Emotion Control with the Calm affect for Boredom with Geckoman. DC 16 Will Save and is subtle
  21. "She's trying to hypnotize him!," Alex said, her hands flattening on the table, and her pixie-features flattening into a scowl. It was the first time her classmates had seen Alex not just pissed but down-right angry. Having vast mental powers that she kept under control at all times, one of the few things that truely, truely upset Alex was someone abusing similar powers. Then, the gloves were off. A frown of mutinous determination settled on her lips. "That's it! I have had it. Let's see how she likes a taste of her own medicine." 'Chris, she's trying to hypnotize her. Don't look into her eyes!' Alex snapped accross the mental link she'd kept up all evening. Then Aled fixed her attention on the green-haired girl, seeing of she could fill the manipulator with boredom with their current target.

  23. "Well, I'm still getting all the tests done but we'll have summer classes. There are a lot of placement test although I'm pretty sure that I know where I'm going to end up. The institute kept pretty detailed documentation on us that was pretty accurate. At least, mine were accurate," Alex paused, collecting a canape and gave Raylis a cheerful smile as she continued on with obvious enthusiasm for the upcoming summer school, "It'll be a much lighter load cuz it's just summer classes. I'm hoping to end up in an advanced language lab, although I'm not sure what I want to learn yet. Probably advanced physics, calculus, honors English lit. I'd like to do pre and early modern literature but I don't think its offered for the summer. I'm really looking forward to the history courses though. I feel like my classes on history up to this point have been really biased based on the limited reading I've done in my spare time." Alex finished filling her plate and nibbled her lip thoughtfully as she tried to figure out the appropriate response. She could hardly ask them about their classes and clearly the Doctor would be aggrieved if she expressed an interest in him that didn't convey knowledge of him, "I did enjoy your lecture on the robot that became self-aware. Mutt? My, ah, teacher and I had a rousing debate on it. I'm psychic, you could say, so sentience of any kind is a personal area of interest for me."
  24. Phantom glanced at him then glanced at the crates before disagreeing, "We don't need a pry bar." More crackling dark energy gathered around her hands but this time, rather than blasting the crates to smithereens, she gestured and tendrils of energy gently reached out to pull the lid off. The energy was as deft as hands but clearly far stronger as it seperated the box lid with a small crack of the wood snapping. Unlike most of the magic-users that Ace had seen, Phantom made no incants to conjure the energy nor did she make expansive gestures although her hands formed specific shapes inside the crackling energy.
  25. Do I know what she's doing with my notice check?
