Notice checks, kids! And have an HP for edges luck working against y'all
-
It took a bit of wrangling while James placed a phone call, but it was remarkabally easy to lock down tickets that matched the good seats ("Yeah, Mark, we DO have three tickets to trade.") James was able to check with his family that the box was available and, even better, none of his family was using it today. After that, the kids were hustled into a van. Attempts to suggest 'cooler' transportation were shot down by stern although not unkind adults. ("No convertible! No AIRSHIP!") In an odd streak of bad luck for the group, they ended up in the last van leaving the school. Worse, they were plagued with red lights that seperated them from the other vans and snarled up in a traffic jam that tied them up for much longer than anticipated so when they were finally at the stadium, the game had already started. Their driver let them out to run to their seats and drove the van off to park. Upon entering the stadium, it was almost eerily empty in the lobby. The game must be already quite under way!

How am I doing on closing dimensional rifts?
-
Yes, this is still at the school since its just the kids switching tickets. Switching seats at the stadium would be much more crowded. I'm figuring this is happening post Eddie's move in, so we'll go with post 13th as that works best for everyone unless anyone has issues. Ya'll are bout to be put in a van and driven to the stadium as this is important for the plot. :cue mysterious music:

As the witch continued to cackle and howl, her assistants were easily cowed by Grim's thundering arrivial. This was clearly not what they had signed up for and the one holding the vial quickly fumbled it out to Grim, tears streaking the heavy makeup on her face. "Here, here! I thought she was gonna do some LSD or shrooms!" the kid sobbed, "Take it!" The other cowered over her notebook, her voice a shrill and frightened whine. She looked close to passing out from fear. "I just wanted to pass my tests!" They both started and cringed as a bolt lanced out from Phantom, stunning and silencing the witch who collapsed into a crumpled heap. The mystic solidified and knelt down to turn the woman over with surprisingly gentle hands, trusting Grim to deal with the teens as her gloved fingers checked the woman's rapid pulse and dialated eyes.

The lead witch remains unaffected, or auto-fails depending on your point of view either way she is unable to act and continues to be completely insane in the corner. The low end henchmen totally biff their rolls.

"Yes, that was my thought," Phantom said amusedly, "Your ride or or mine?"

Tickets were pulled out of pockets and quickly compared. Luckily enough, Mark, Mike and Eddie were already sitting in the same block as Erin's good seats in the mez. Alex and James, however, were holding tickets for other places in the stadium. "I think I heard that one of the RAs was looking to switch," Alex offered the information to James with a smile. Today, Alex was dressed almost tamely (for Alex). She had a long sleeved plum shirt with her pegged jeans, over which she was wearing a baseball style tshirt in Claremont blue and gold. She had her hair back in a thick braid but was wearing blue rimmed sunglasses.

Sure, Ecal, you'll be the last one tho :)

OOC thread for Take Me Out to the Ball Game, where evil goons hijack Liberty Dome and the poor Claremont Kids are caught in the middle. *gasp* Closed thread for: Mike [Phalanx], Mark [Edge], Erin [Wander], Eddie [breakdown], James [Hellion], Chris [Geckoman], and Alex [Psyche].

Summer time was a relatively lazy time at Claremont, with a healthy mix of classes and extra-curricular activities for its unique student body. Today was no exception. For those students interested, the school was providing complementary tickets to a Freedom City Comets game at the Liberty Dome. Even a few students that were living at home for the summer were showing up for today's outing so the entrance to the school was busier than usual as students found their respective shuttles to the game. As the tickets were donations, there were broken up blocks of seats all over the stadium and kids were busy switching tickets with others so that they were sitting near their friends. This of course led to quite a bit of a headache for the few teachers trying to get everyone sorted out. Alex was out in the middle of the activity, blinking at the confusion and trying to search out her friends amongst the chaos.
-
So, I was going to run a thread for the Claremont kids involving a field trip disrupted by goons. (For the short, short synopsis) Who's interested?

"Nothing you missed, Ace, but I thought I'd take a look at this warehouse while you finished up with those men," She turned her face back to him, her eyes going back to their 'normal' lambent glow. Quickly and concisely she filled her companion in on the details of the building's layout and the goons within. "Frankly, I don't see a point to waiting. I don't think that they'll be overly difficult to deal with and I imagine they'll have more men at night anyways." Not to mention she still had to get her tuition payed somewhere in the midst of being a hero.

"Hi! I'm Alex Albright. You have the neatest friend. I, uhm, fed him some granola. I hope that's okay?" Alex gave the girl a quick smile after pausing to blink at the outfit. "Erin pointed out that it prolly isn't part of his usual dietary needs." She brushed the crumbs off her hands and gave Squeaker another wistful look before she grinned at Eddie, "I wouldn't even know where to begin on taking care of something like that. I'd never try and keep something wild that I didn't know how to care for. More harm than good an' all that."

The confusing bounce of echoes were no match for Grim's ability to track them down and the duo rounded the corner of one darkened alley, with Phantom trailing Grim. At the end of the alley, the source of the inhuman noises was a very human looking figure. Although she was dressed-up like a Halloween-style witch, she couldn't have been older than thirty. Her eyes were rolled back in her head and in between the horrific noises, she was babbling in a mixture of languages along with what Grim could only assume were nonsense. At her feet were a couple of frightened looking teens, one attempting to scribble down the words of 'wisdom' that the would-be witch was uttering, the othe was clutching an ornate looking vial of viscuous liquid that seemed to swirl with a dizzying kalidiscope of colors. It was already half empty. The two were too intent at first on the woman to notice the heroes arrival but the one holding the vial let out a choked scream when she noticed Grim. "A strong enough will, it's said, can conjure powers and visions from the Howling Dream." Phantom explained the scene in a low voice for Grim's ears. Her tone throbbed with a seething rage and Grim was given the feeling that this was one of many similar scenes that had likely caused the mystic's current mood, "The risk for any who attempt it is madness."

"Dancing?! Uhm, I didn't think there'd be dancing. It's cool, I can hold on to the table for you guys if you wanna go." Alex looked even more wide-eyed at the thought. She was used to being clutzy most of the time but dancing in the midst of the crowd sounded like a good way to make a spectacular fool of herself. She doubted Mark had enough luck in the world to make up for the fact that she had two left feet. It was really unfair since her mother was so darned co-ordinated but to each their own. She hadn't appeared to notice Eddie's thoughts but that was because Alex was firmly sheilded. The last thing she wanted to do was accidentally pick up or, worse, project outward at the crowd.

Phantom is helping despite thinking this could be dangerous to Scarab's mighty brain. :D

So, I'm looking to build out a HQ that's in the same pocket dimension as Phantom's dimensional pocket. I was looking at Concealed x 5, Isolated, Sealed and Temporal Limbo x 3 to represent that but I can't find a book example of a headquarters that doesn't have at least some corrallary on Earth Prime. Is there anything else I would need to add to make this work?

Phantom was startled by the man's sudden attack and he was able to grab onto her before she could react and squeeze. She was thankfull for the protection afforded by her spells even as she reacted by phasing out of synch with this world again. As she found herself free, she fired another bolt of energy, one intended to stun her opponent but it was much harder to aim at something phasing through your body than Phantom had calculated for.
-
My rolls are SUCKING in this thread: 1d20+10=12 Pffffft. Phantom's going to go insubstantial and fire off her stun and hit some poor bird or something by mistake. Phantom has not had her morning coffee yet. That's all I gotta say.
-
"I could use a great many things, I imagine," Phantom said, managing something like dour humor, "I was hoping that you might have seen something odd this evening. Someone has sold an individual with too much money and not enough sense a vial of Tears of Crying Chaos but it's proving... difficult. I need to find it before--." Whatever else Phantom was going to say was cut off as an unearthly wail went up from a throat that hardly sounded human. It was enough to make the hooded mystic start and then curse softly but with great invective in Cantonese. "Too late. Again. At least it doesn't sound far off." The wail had stopped and their was the sound of hysterical sobbing echoing in the still night, broken only by jagged bursts of laughter. The sound echoed and bounced around but was likely coming from down one of the windy alleys.

Alex gave the amazing creature a wistful look as she obviously wanted to touch him. Instead she straightened and glanced around for the cultured voice to return the girl's pet. "Sounds like your friend is looking for you, little guy." She glanced up to the other kids with a smile, "I can't even talk my folks into a dog. My dad has allergies."
-
"Even for someone with your psychic ability, Scarab, I'm not sure how wise it is to stare into the coil and demand answers of what could be. I can take all of you to this other realm instead. As I mentioned, I know of this place. If you are set on this course of action, however, I will scry out the world and you may cast your thoughts through the image. That should give your intuition the focus it needs." She lifted one gloved hand to touch the gem at her throat, her expression pensive. She had already taxed her powers once this evening and altering the spell to allow Scarab to percieve it would be no easy task. "I leave the choice to you and your team."
-
Phantom does know when and where these folks are from and has said as much. Instead of stunting the dimensional modifier, we could just cross over to that dimension? I'll point it out IC again but if the Knights are dead set on this path, Phantom will help.

Near Grim on the rooftop, Phantom's cloak unfolded into existence slowly, until the mystic was hovering there herself. She couldn't pick out Grim with her eyes, but she tilted her head to one side, confirming the shapeshifter's presence with her other senses before she glanced across the street at the temple. "Grim?" She questioned, her head cocked slightly to the side. Her hollow voice sounded both tired and frustrated under its echoing tones.
