"Its, uhm, a meeting to gather and disseminate information, gain useful contacts, aquire a bit of experience from other, wiser individuals and hopefully aquire a bit of social poise," Alex recited helpfully, in fact verbatim, from what Mr. Summers had given her as reasons to go to this event. She turned pink again and clarified quickly, "Well, those are the reasons I was given for attending. Your mileage may vary?" She bent her head down to check her watch, "But we probably should be going in if we don't want to keep Mr. The Emmissary waiting."

"Actually," Phantom said, fixing her frown on Avenger as he began to delgate the rest of his band, "I have two prisoners." She gestured to the folds of the cloak, spreading it enough to show that the inside of the cloak, rather than mere cloth, was a stark black field that crackled with lines of eldritch lightining. "I can transport all of you the same way. Its just not pleasant."
-
That was my assumption but it never hurts to check first. :D

Before I post my response, I wanna clarify that Rant and Rave are still in my dimensional pocket?

Psyche took a shuddering breath and paused before responding to take mental stock. She wasn't the sort of teen to insist she was fine no matter what. The last thing she wanted was to lash out mentally in fear or pain and possibly hurt someone, so Psyche double checked that her control of her thoughts was firm before she gave Seven a nod. "No, thank you. I'm alright to continue when you are." Psyche folded her hands in her lap and turned her attention back to the older student expectantly.

They certainly were a warm and welcoming lot, here. Phantom turned those glowing eyes on Avenger, "I can travel between dimensions, yes. The only way for any of you to travel with me, however, would be the same sort of transport that I'm carrying Rant and Rave in currently. It works in an emergency, but it is not a pleasant ride for anyone to experience." Her cloak writhed in response to the statement as Phantom tilted her head to the side under her hood, "It usually takes a bit of deduction work to figure out what dimension any individual comes from. My knowledge of the possibilities is expansive, but there are near limitless numbers of dimensions. If I were working alone, I'd start by questioning one of the prisoners."

Psyche's mental presence pinked with embarassment for a moment before her face scrunched in concentration as she greyed out the picture of Michael on the ceiling to a less distracting assortment of mottled grays and whites. "Sorry. He's a big presence in my head. I'll try and tamp down the psychic link too." She 'stood up' in the room, looking satisfied with the results, if still pink from residual emotions.

Alex made certain to leave a carefully lettered sign on the door for Erin on the off chance she returned from her class early for any reason and sat down in the center of the floor after making certain that even if something caused her to thrash, there would be nothing within easy distance to knock over. "How are you going to record it?" Alex asked with blantant curiosity. As a former test subject, she was used to being hooked up with electrodes and all sorts of devices in an attempt to diagnose exactly what she was capable, "Just detailed record keeping or do you have devices to annotate the experience?" There was no fear or concern about having her capabilities recorded. In addition to ethics, Alex had also studied just how dangerous a psychic out of control could be. It was why she had such strict morals about using her powers but she never blamed others for any fear of her powers. She folded her legs into a loose cross-leged position and closed her eyes as she let her body find the most comfortable position, "Ready!"
-
Alex carefully marked the page she was on in her textbook with one of the colorful bookmarks she kept in one of the neat cups on her desk and closed the book on ethics. She turned her attention to the mental presence, her eyes unfocused on the window as she followed the thread back to communicate politely back. Like the presence in her head, she was careful not to push into a probe, "Oh, sure! I mean, as ready as you can be, right?"

Phantom had strolled around the ballroom once, hands tucked behind her back. She'd thought about taking a drink to just look like she blended but discarded it. She didn't need to eat anymore and the alchohol wouldn't even affect her. After almost being bumped into for the third time, she gave up on clinging to the physical. Once she started to ghost through people, she was given a slightly wider bearth and let out a little sigh of relief. She spotted Scarab's distinctive red and gold accross the room and glided over to the Italian table, "Good evening, Scarab. I'll confess to surprise at your appearance tonight. Although the entire evening is proving unusual. How is the food?"

Phantom turned her attention fully to the agitated shifter, her expression flat and unimpressed, "I really don't think this is the time to have origin discussions. Obviously there is a larger and more pressing matter at hand." She straightened up, uncurling herself from her relaxed position, "However if we must, we must. Let me make one thing perfectly clear, I can feel, without a shadow of a doubt that you are an extra dimensional entity. Whatever imbued you with your gifts no doubt, and that came from a source that is non native to this plane of existance. My responsibilities, " she gestured with one arm back to the outside, "Are to keep such traffic to a neccesary minimum. Olympians setting themselves up as gods, Nazis deciding one dimension is simply not enough. Not only does it play havok with the balance of our world, but each passage through leaves the veil weaker. Glare at me all you'd like but I'd appreciate you leave the accusations and ridicule outside."
-
Phantom stirred at that, turning her attention back to the group from frowning at Grim. "Not quite." She replied with a voice that echoed eerily. "The Terminus incursion was much more pervasive and the dangers of that particular dimension are much greater than what we face today. From the looks of those we fought I would guess that they are from a near dimension. A world like ours where a few changes have resulted in a different present. Trust me when I say that the Terminus is nothing like the world we know." She paused and that white, flat glance flickered to Grim as she said pointedly, "There are many in this world that do not belong here. Some for more noble reasons than others. Without knowing which dimension these individuals came from specifically, it could take some time to return them. 'Magpie' cried out something about not failing. Did any of the others say anything of interest?"

"The relative rarity of my surname would indicate that its a likely, if distant, relation." Alex volunteered cheerfully, "But there's certainly not close enough of a blood tie to even send Christmas cards. And my mom sends Christmas cards to just about everyone!" Her handshake was firm, although her palm was still warm from nerves. She gave one smart shake of his hand as overly serious as only a teenager trying to act grown up can before she released it and turned her attention to the newcomer with a cheery wave, "Hello!"

Phantom floated along in the wake of Knight, her face under the dark cowl expressionless as she examined the throne room with a curious eye. Egyptian had really never been her forte. Personally, she'd favored the middle east as her area of expertise. The throne room with assembled cushions earned a raised eyebrow and an almost sardonic smile flickered on her face before she smoothed out her expression once more. At least she wasn't the only one in the room with a flair for the melodramatic. The ephemeral figure floated over to one of the cushions before folding her legs up under her cloak into a crosslegged position that hovered a good foot or two above the pillow. She steepled her fingertips under her chin and gave her attention to the impromptu gathering and the man she presumed to be Avenger.

Its happening at the Plaza, not Danger Manor. :)
-
I don't think that's a problem, honestly. She likely met with the headmaster for pre-admission stuff as her mom is an ex-super hero. The car could have come round to pick her up on the way.
-
From her cramped apartment, Taylor Chun flicked the tv on to get a good look at the Plaza's entry way. She could have scryed out the gathering but why exert the effort when the event was already on tv. After shutting and locking the doors and windows and pulling the curtains, Taylor brushed her fingertips against the amulet at her throat. With a flash of light, Phantom's cloak and cowl replaced her pjs. Glancing one last time at the tv, she focused and teleported herself to the party. On the plaza's doorstep, a ragged ball of cloth began to rapidly unfold outward into the ephemeral sillouhette of the Phantom. After a moment of wavering, her outline solidified into existance. Phantom stepped onto the ground, her boots echoing hollowly on the marble as her cloak writhed around her ankles. She paused to introduce herself to the doorman before heading for the party's host.
-
If you still want another hero, I can toss in Phantom. Her costume includes an Atlantean amulet so I don't imagine it would take a big stretch for Vestige and her to throw down :)
-
Phantom's cloak settled and flared around her as she walked over to Knight. She assumed the telepathic 'voice' wasn't from him as Phantom imagined he would have shown those skills earlier in the fight if they were his to control. "Are you alright?" She asked now that the battle was over. This time when she went to touch his shoulder her gloved had was reassuringly solid as she exerted the mental effort to materialize fully. She reached out slowly as Phantom halfway expected the young man to recoil. Sucking screaming people into the abyss of her cloak was sometimes... unsettling to others. Her gaze flickered over the crowd and the injured, her face expressionless under the mask. She added for both the psychic presence as well as Knight, "There is residual dimensional energy here. I do not believe that these were the Rant and Rave that we are familiar with. Nor do I believe that this is over unfortunately."

From my understanding Quark was riding to this with Alex.
