  1. I think Nighthawk is going to round on Victoria Atom. It would be smarter to whittle down the other minions but as that one is hurting people, I think that's where she'd focus. Roll to Hit: 1d20+10=15 Boo! HP for the re-roll: 1d20+10=26 That's a bit better. DC25 on the Tou Save if that hits.
  2. Talya's smile for Dimitri at his arrival was bright and she stepped forward to give him a brief peck on the cheek. The red lips that were as much part of Bombshell's costume as her black domino mask left no smudge but the very brief embrace would certainly wash away any lingering doubts about what her heavy overcoat was hiding. "Dimitri, thank you so much for coming." Talya had no hesitation in following Rachel to the room, exchanging polite pleasantries until the door clicked shut. With a practiced smile, Talya accepted one of the offered refreshments with elegant fingertips although she held it casually as conversation provided plenty of excuse to not take a sip right away. She inclined her head at the exchange of information. "Well, we'd certainly be interested in Danger Enterprises sponsoring more youth programs if you'd care to make that cover even better," she suggested with a wry twist of her lips. "What sort of trouble is your Uncle in this time? There are relatively few scenarios in which my particular skill set might be required for the Danger family - unless you happen to have gone very cutthroat in corporate warfare. Although it has been ever so long since there's been a real challenge in stealing corporate assets available.. and it's not even my birthday." It was the sort of barbed banter that Talya was well known for but to those who knew her best, there was a little more bite to the words than simple banter. Talya didn't have any bone to pick with Rachel but there were certainly members of the Danger family who Talya did not get along with and without Ace there, the chance of having to deal with them increased exponentially.

  4. Nighthawk took in the reactions of her classmates and then gave a small, short nod. "We'll take care of the situation," she agreed finally, "But on our own - our own way." Nighthawk pronounced before tipping her head to the booth and their instructor. "Could we move the scenario to some sort of deployment vehicle, or headquarters to plan what we're about to do, please?" She requested directly as it seemed absurd to pantomime leaving what was, in effect, a simulated room.
  5. "No worries," was Robin's laconic reply as she at least was starting to get used to life at a super-school. As Casey appeared once again, Robin's lips quirked into a small smile, "You ready then? Figured we'd run but you'll probably have to slow way down to keep pace. I'm not speeding bullet." Robin led the way out of the school, shouldering her backpack onto both shoulders and checking to make sure it was zippered before she set off at an easy run along side streets once they were out of the school. The agile Fens native skipped the bus, altering course into street running, leaping from the cement at the first convent perch to take a more acrobatic - and direct - run across the city towards the neighborhood she'd grown up in. Robin might not be as fast as Casey - or any other speedster - but she was past what even a well trained gymnast could do, taking flying leaps from rooftop to rooftop that no normal sixteen year old would have managed. She didn't sound especially winded as she picked up their conversation easily. "So what all did you have in mind for learning more about Freedom, Casey?"
  6. "You know you're welcome to come over to the manor - just give us forewarning," Taylor said cheerfully, in the manner one would generally use to refer to wanting to do a bit of clean-up before guests rather than the more accurate vampire need to adjust to outsiders in his lair. "He's growing like a weed and, except for the fact that he's got to stick to a diurnal schedule, is enjoying school in general though I'm not sure what I'll do if Ammy doesn't end up at Nicholson next year too. I think JJ has some rather unyielding expectations." Taylor shrugged slightly, adding, "We're trying to relax and let the boys have some normalcy, such as it is. We even went to a barbecue at Stesha's with some other families. It was nice. It's just about trying to find a balance, really."

  8. "I presume its in relation to Ace. He's the one I know best but if he were back in town, I'd have heard. I wouldn't be too worried, if Ace had found a way to actually kill himself - he'd have done it years ago," Talya agreed, stepping around the door frame as she followed him towards fetching his coat. Talya hadn't missed the glance towards her midsection and her brows arched up slightly. She resisted the urge to settle her hands there and crossed her arms over her breasts instead, hip cocked to one side under the bulk of her coat, "I have an accountant. You could use him, you know. He's very good - handles the trusts and all of that." She didn't protest his company although as Talya took his arm, her tone gentled from teasing to affectionate, "I'm not going anywhere, you needn't fret. I have no desire to skip out on the back rubs I've been promised for the next few months."

Responsibilities (Team): For the first time since the golden age, Bombshell is on a team roster with the Interceptors. Considering that her last team was predominently murdered by Kantor, despite her bluffing to the otherwise - she takes their safety and her responsibility there seriously. Ward(s): In addition to her parental role to Eden and Mia (and the twins on the way), Talya's taken on mentorship of Raina as well. Adopted Family: Talya long ago outlived her biological siblings but her former Allies of Freedom teammate, Dimitri, is a brother in all but blood.

  11. "Hmm," Talya said after she hung up the phone, her expression thoughtful and perhaps a little pensive. Well, they'd have plenty of time to discuss things once Rachel had explained whatever the Danger family needed at the moment. One crisis at a time! Talya checked her look in the mirror, satisfied that the bulk of the overcoat would blunt enough of her silhouette for at least cursory inspection. She added a scarf, draped over her shoulders to further break up the outline of her body before she went to head out of the bedroom to let one of the adults in the family know she was stepping out. When it became clear that Min had taken the girls out to the park, she adjusted course to find Erik. Talya's blonde head appeared around the corner, "There's some crisis with the Danger family to be dealt with. Don't worry, I've already pestered Dimitri into coming along and it should be minimally dangerous, I've been told. Of course, same family that sends the smaller children in to disarm traps so perspective's a little skewed." She blinked large blue eyes then, "But Dimitri has promised to lick all the strange magic objects first." Talya paused, "I'm kidding, but I might be home late for dinner. I've already told the house plants."
  12. Alex's low laughter lingered as she went to take his hand, the other wrapping around his shoulder as she floated up. It had taken years to manage to fly, but she still didn't manage it even a fraction of the speed that Mike cleared. She tucked her cheek against the side of his neck, arms twined around his shoulders. Remember how many times you took me flying before I managed it on my own? Alex smiled against his skin, Let's loop the Plaza on the way home - but don't rattle the windows too much.
  13. "If only," Talya said, humor returning to her features and her voice lightening briefly. "Do you know how long its been since we stole things from terrible people? Far too long. Perhaps, though, if we're lucky..." She gave a small shake of her blonde hair as she went to fasten up the buttons on her coat, "But, no, its Ace's niece - she has some sort of favor to ask and I probably ought not go alone. I, ah..." Talya hesitated here for a moment, choosing her words carefully, "I'm not really in fighting form, so to speak. Nothing to fret over, truly, but it's not going to resolve for another five months or so. I know that 'meat shield' isn't really your favored form of exercise but would you be willing to indulge me as a very special favor?"
  14. Talya restrained herself from sighing. Really, she knew better than to ask. It was the bloody family name after all. "I understand," she said and then went to hang up the phone after the appropriate pleasantries. Changing quickly, she dialed Dimitri's number from speed dial and put him on speaker phone as she went to do what she could to downplay her current 'condition'. As soon as the phone picked up, Talya opened with, "I have a favor to ask. I hope you're free?" Without even so much as a proper 'hello'. If she knew nothing else about Ace's niece, she knew she didn't rattle easy. Frankly, Talya thought she'd be lucky to get her shoes on before the car arrived.
  15. Alex gave Mike's arm a very gentle pat as the men scattered, the gesture soothing. She'd flinched automatically at the loud rapport but no real fear had flickered across her features. Retrieving her hand, she held them out as the weapons and bullets floated towards her slender hands. "No need to give a police officer extra paperwork." Alex told the large man, her voice gentle as she added, "I have given them both a very small... impulse to get clean. AEON will foot the bill if they follow up on the thought but, you know, change is best when it comes from within." Between her slender hands, the weapons warped and twisted into unrecognizable scrap metal before floating towards the dumpster off to the side as she brushed her hands together. "Unless you'd rather drop them off in person, of course but it is such a nice night."
  16. "Mostly take it day by day," Taylor said with a small smile. She shrugged, her hands still in her pockets. "It's a little strange to be a solo act again. I mean, sometimes I coax Jack into moonlighting a little but politics keep him busy and its hard to find a reliable babysitter that the kids like as much as they did Erin. Little hellions that they are. I do miss Avenger, though." She tipped her face up then towards the cool winter sun, "So at the moment, just taking it a day at a time. I'm sure Jack has plans within plans but we've found its best for our marriage if I stay out of a lot of the vampire-y stuff. For a number of reasons, really."

  18. Alex caught the movement before Mike did as she noticed the chaotic thoughts of the muggers, jittery and agitated, approaching them as Mike weighed whether or not twenty bucks was worth it for a night-time flight. Her hazel eyes landed thoughtfully on first one criminal and then the other although, like Mike, her expression showed concern rather than fear. She reached up to touch Mike's bicep as he stepped in front of her slightly. "They're both on drugs, Mike," Alex said gently, her fingers lightly squeezing his arm through the suit. "And crashing out." She paused then, her head tipping to the side thoughtfully as if she were listening to something only the slender young woman could hear. It likely seemed like a non sequitur to the criminals as she added helpfully to her fiancé , "You're going to want to take the guns too."
  19. Damn you, Ace. What the hell have you gotten yourself into now? "It always is with you Dangers, isn't it?" Talya's clipped tones reasserted themselves, the wry humor in her tone utterly at odds with the frown she was wearing on the other end. She turned slightly, pacing the floor towards the bedroom, phone tucked against her ear. Clearly, she was going to have to come up with some solution for making anything like public appearances over the next six months as she'd rather moved past the stage where empire waist-lines would suffice as a disguise. Vanishing into the closet, she sorted through her options, her expression growing more grim. "Unmarked, please - and if you would be ever so kind, the less staff involved the better. I have been... keeping a low profile of late," Talya settled on as she emerged with clothing in hand, still frowning at her dress options. Maybe with an overcoat? It was still overcoat weather, after all. "Just how dangerous a favor do you expect this to be?"
  20. Alex's hazel eyes flicked around the scene, rapidly playing the odds. There was nothing more that she wanted at the moment to round up these terrorists and enlighten them to how very wrong they were but there were wounded and dying in front of her skyscraper and Claremont teenagers who deserved her protection. The greater good. She flicked her wrist, the gesture absent and the concrete mixer moved - not hurtling towards the ringleader but smoothly flying from the ground to wedge itself into the still open portal. "You have perhaps a minute - very likely less - before Phalanx arrives. Only slightly more before one of the very many super teams that call Freedom City home follow suite and the cement mixer there is approximately fifty thousand pounds." Alex said as she dropped closer to the ground, one knee slightly bent where she hovered. "I presume you've kept the portal open as your primary escape route in the probable event that allies arrive. I also imagine you have a second escape route planned. My security team informs me that they've shut down the hack to my databases that I imagine was your actual primary goal. If you'd like to spend the next... forty-five seconds monologuing, by all means." She tipped her head to the side then, examining the erstwhile leader with an almost too-thoughtful expression on her features, "I somehow doubt that you're actually all that eager to face other trained adults with powers just yet." Alex's chin tipped down then and her gaze shifted to the Alkahest very briefly as the mentalist planned ahead. Her gaze flicked back to Providence, almost unnaturally calm, "You really should run."
  21. The goal is to stuff the truck in the portal. Which would that be?
  22. Psyche will throw the truck at the portal and as apparently, I have not built Psyche for that sort of thing (whoops!), she misses so I will spend the last HP on that roll that I currently have. Not bothering to roll as there's no way she won't hit at that point. Her goal is to stuff the cement truck in the portal. (Though I have precise on the move object and am moving the already caught dump truck into a static opening? But there's the rolls if they are needed)
  23. "Phone! I get it! I get it!" The thickening of her waistline hadn't yet slowed down the agile thief but unless she was willing to vault the couch (which she wasn't for a probable telemarketer), she was not swift enough to beat Eden to the rarely used landline. Still, she was right on the toddler's heels, sweeping her up as Eden picked up the phone. The polished personal assistant was treated to a bellowed "H'LO-ESPADAS-RES'DENCE-WE-DON'-WANT-ANY" followed by shrieking giggles as she was finally caught. "Little monkey-" Talya sighed as she juggled the toddler to one hip and took the phone before more damage could be done. She cleared her throat, dropping her crisp British accent for a faintly midwestern twang, and not yet bothering to check the phone's ID, "Hello?" She said in easy greeting, a faint frown flickering across her features as she was asked for by alias. "This is she. How can I help you?" "Mummy sounds weiiird," Eden complained at the dialect shift and as she squirmed to get down, Talya put the toddler back on the ground to let her continue racing around the apartment pell mell.
  24. "Thank you," Alex agreed, threading her arm through Mike's once more with a sunny smile as she was used to her more introverted compatriots limits. With another round of pleasantries and assuring them of her satisfaction with the evening once more, Alex nodded towards the door and fell into easy step with Mike as they went to exit the backstage into the winter evening. Alex tucked her coat a little more tightly around herself and leaned into the warmth that Mike offered at her side. "We could send the car back home and take the scenic route," Alex suggested as the door shut behind them, tipping her head up to take in Mike's profile. "It's a nice night for it - chilly but not unbearable."
  25. There was no response until Robin herself showed up outside of Casey's dorm after classes on Friday, looking much the same as she always did - her clothes worn and her ever present backpack slung over one shoulder. The only really noticeable difference between now and the day she'd arrived at Claremont was her cheeks looked a little less hollow and although she remained muscular under the thin shirt with little discernible body fat, she no longer looked too lean as she had when she'd arrived. Robin was apparently content to wait, quiet on her sneakered feet as she leaned one leather clad shoulder against the wall and skimmed her book. As the door opened, she glanced up with inscrutable grey eyes before a faint smile softened her somber expression, "Got anything you need to grab?" Robin asked by way of greeting.
