"Probably nothing, today. But these people are just hungry. You can make ham sandwiches out of thin air if you want to. Without me prodding, this would occur to you in time. I'm not saying that you should make sandwiches for all these people but you should probably start thinking about the fact that you can and whether or not you should. You're the only one who can decide the cost of those powers. I'm just here to help you work through that. Does that make sense?" Alex asked as she guided him over to the area she used for mending peoples belongings.

"Well, like I said, there's a very convoluted explanation to all of this. Sure, we can meet you in the park. I'll bring Jack to help clarify a few things." She covered the phone and there was what sounded like an argument but it was muffled and not in English so it was rather hard to make out. Taylor was fully aware that at least in this case Jack would follow her but it would be better for everyone at least in Taylor's mind, if he started out visible . "...We might be a few minutes but we'll be there."
-
"No... I really do have to get that. It's Grim's ringtone.... Well, its your own fault this is getting interrupted! Yes, of course I'm still mad. Jack, stop that... Hello?" There was a pause as Lynn's words burst out of her and then a soft and rather long suffering sigh, "No more so than he's always been, but I can see how you might be concerned. Besides, I can take Jack if I had to." That was said with an audible grin and a challenging smirk. The phone made a static sort of noise as Taylor quickly phased - phone including - "You still there? Okay, good. Now, just calm down. There's... well, it's not a sane explanation but there is an explanation."

Alex sighed and crossed over to him. She didn't bother to ask permission as she set about healing his injuries with an air of weariness. Quietly she said, "Eddie, you can't go back. I rather think that if Zoe could go back, she would have erased her actions with James but we can't go back, we can only go forward. I'm not going to force everyone to come listen, I will, however, convey your request for everyone to come in here so that people can talk things out. Some of them might not come and you need to be prepared for that." She sent her thoughts winging out to the members of Young Freedom, touching each of them in turn and passing along a message, 'Eddie would like the chance to apologize and speak with everyone. I told him I would pass the message along. The choice, of course, is yours.' After that message to the group, she focused on her private link with Mike. He could feel the weight pressing down on her emotions as she touched in to see how the conversation with Zoe goes, 'He specifically requested Zoe's presence. I think it's best if she comes now and deals with it but I won't force her. I could use your support, however, when you're finished.'

"Mingling is good for you. Otherwise its far too easy for you to do the whole 'interact with the world from the sanctity of my own bathroom' thing. After god knows how many years, you can hardly be shy." Talya continued to tease, her smile both pleased and flattered at the compliment before she glanced up at Ace's arrival. Behind the lenses of her glasses, Talya rolled her eyes and smirked, "Lord, trotting out the flying carpet is he? I wonder who he's hoping to impress into bed this time." They were let in and shown quickly back by Vince, Talya looking far more comfortable with the idea of circulating with who knows how many heroes than her date for the event. When they reached the back yard, she gave Ace a cheery wave and a knowing smirk. Meanwhile she said in an undertone to Elena, "So, this would be introduction time..."

"Because you have powers like mine, where some day you'll have to decide how to use them for things that aren't as simple as smacking a supervillain in the face. This is a good place to kinda test run those sorts of things out," Alex said pragmatically, "I do mending. A lot of these folks don't have a lot of things and it takes me about three seconds to make something work again that was broken. Fix clothes to be like new. Stuff like that but, I mean, I could spend all day every day here doing that and it wouldn't ever be enough." She led him on through to the back, introducing him to the volunteers. "And I think it'll help you understand just how strong people can really be."
-
Talya chuckled and gave her fingertips a squeeze, continuing to tease the one-time-monarch with habitual ease, "Oh, for goodness sake, relax. I'm entirely housebroken. I haven't embarrassed you at a party yet. I think I can manage a pool party without anyone having a fuss. As loathe as I am to remind you, I really am the social one." The blonde was dressed in a tailored halter top dress over her swimsuit, her strappy wedge sandals putting her at a height with Elena. She was wearing large sunglasses and a widebrim hat that blocked most of the sun. "Although, if you like, I could pose as your cousin. Sadly, all my languages are European. Do you suppose you could have a long lost German cousin? What about Russian?"

"Oh, send me to Ace. I need to bend his ear about a few contacts before I feed this slippery group a bunch of pretty lies about why our names were linked in the paper." Talya leaned in to kiss the other woman and then stepped back, linking her gloved hands behind her back after she'd set her mask on her face. She returned the predatory grin with one of her own, "Now, don't have too much without me, darling. But, do have fun."
-
"You can," Talya insisted firmly with that small smile that said Elena was being rediculous, "You're one of the strongest people I've ever known - and I'm not talking about powers - you can cope with that uncertainty." She reached out to take Elena in her arms gently, "Someday you'll show me around. Someday I'll stay for breakfast. We have a lot of somedays left still. I swear to you that I'm not going to go dying on you. I haven't broken a promise yet. Now, my love, you have matters no doubt to attend to and my good intentions won't last forever... Curiosity is my besetting vice. Well, one of them. There are so many to chose from."
-
"The Fens," Alex replied, blinking once and peering past him. It was a good thing that Mike was out of his black phase as the room would have probably been draped in crepe, "And, no, I think we'll be more help for this particular problem than either of them would be able to provide. You might want to put the wig back on, though." When he was dressed, Alex touched her communicator belt buckle to port them back to the base and then to a corner of the run down section of the Fens, outside a relatively new soup kitchen that had a line out the door and stretching round the block. The people in it were of all ages and sizes and shapes but all in the same economic demographic of the poorest of the poor. There were certainly drunks and junkies and gangbangers of course but also there were families and a lot of elderly as well. "Here's our stop. Come on, follow me." Alex guided them up to the door and exchanged pleasantries with the volunteer on the door, explaining on their way up, "She's one of my new employees."
-
Alex sighed and knelt down in front of the young man, holding out her hands in supplication, "May I?" At his shaky nod, she reached out to touch his brow. It wasn't contact she needed, but it helped set others not used to her powers at ease as it made it very clear when her contact with his thoughts started and stopped. Rapidly, she rifled through the information she needed and rested one hand on his shoulder, "Please go back to the rest of the party. I'm very sorry about all of this. And, yes, of course I promise." After that very one-sided conversation, Alex stood up and left the couple to do the fretting over each other, excusing herself with a polite nod. Alex was making no effort to hide the expression of mingled guilt and strain on her face but she did answer Trevor's question, "Physically, everyone will be just fine. No one is injured at this point except for Eddie and I'll go attend to him now."

"Jack, first, let me assure you that when I do seduce anyone, there's no sort of 'try' about it. Trust me, you'll know." She lowered her chin and grinned at him, going still under the pin. Bombshell brought one leg up - slowly, because men always expect the nut-shot - and propped it against the wall. "I'm just a little old fashioned. I don't seduce on the first rooftop romp. Let's say, instead, I'm taking the idea for a test drive. Tell me. Are you as quick on your feet as you are with your hands?"

L337 panicked, grabbing at the wrists that hauled him up and his gaze flicked back and forth, looking for aid from his usual group of friends but unfortunately for Shinnosuke, everyone else was distracted by the exploding wreckage and nearly no one was looking over at the much more subdued scuffle, "Oh, man, oh MAN..." He hesitated before shaking his head and forcing back his obvious fear. "Look, man, I'll tell you, okay? Cuz, this isn't right. I mean, I get what she was trying to do and all that but people could get really hurt! That was totally not what this was about. We're heroes! We don't hurt people..." Then with trembling hands, he wrote down the information for the feeds he'd been transmitting all of prom to. "Just - dude - don't let this escalate any further, okay?"
-
Bombshell indulged in a brief look around, enjoying the chance to take a peek into the Scarab's sanctum sanctorum so to speak before she sighed and shook her head. She turned resolutely back to the Scarab and reached up to pull off the thin mask, "No, Elena. I'm not staying here. When you let me in, it'll be because you trust me, not because you can't sleep at night fretting over which old enemy might or might not find me." She smiled, reluctantly but genuinely, "You can't wrap me up and put me on a shelf to keep me safe, darling, although I appreciate the desire to do so more than words can say. Criminal or hero, I'm never going to be a tame creature. You wouldn't be interested if I was that person and it really wouldn't be me. It would be an act I put on to make you happy and eventually, I'd chafe under that much coddling. You simply have to take on faith that I'm going to be alright. I will be, you know. I'm a remarkably hardy individual."

Alex had covered her face when the car crashed through prom and crunched into Mike before slowly pushing herself up and pulling herself back together. Someone had to after all. "That is entirely enough. Mark, if you would please be so kind to help me clean things up here so that everyone else can continue to enjoy their party," she said, her voice quiet but reinforced with her telepathy to touch everyone in their group, "As for you, Zoe, if you run away from this one I am not going to be pleased or impressed. Mike, I think the time to have that talk is now, if you would please." She made her way to the group and touched Erin's shoulder first, repairing both her dress and helping her regeneration along before she crossed to Mike to do the same. Alex turned to look at the damage to her floor and the walls now that there were no more injuries to see to. A fact that could entirely be laid at the quick actions of some of their teammates. "As for Eddie.... James, why don't you take him to my office. I suggest we all meet there once things here have been set to right again."
-
"Why would you do a silly thing like that, love? When you have the advantage, by all means keep it. I would." Bombshell said with a wicked little grin, her blonde curls falling over to obscure one eye. She wiggled her wrists experimentally and from the look in her blue eyes, was still weighing her options. At least now, Jack had her full attention on the game. She hadn't really thought he'd actually go for the pin and she'd certainly thought he'd do the stammer and let go with the kiss. Before, she'd been playing. Now she was intrigued, "Otherwise, I'll just vanish on you and catch you by surprise and you'll have to grab me all over again... which could be fun too."
-
"The matter of my gifts is already public knowledge. I wasn't about to reveal my nature without revealing all of it. It's simply too risky. I have down played the details but what we do here is too important for it to risk collapse due to public backlash over a fostered deception. I'd rather face an honest up-hill battle rather than win on a lie," Alex said simply, slipping her hand into Mike's as she sat next to him on the couch. "I do appreciate your offer of help." She turned to Mike then, diverting the topic at least a little and prodded him gently to take more of an active role in the conversation, used to as always drawing him out of his shy shell. "We don't lie if there's a way to avoid it. Sometimes, there simply isn't, but other times you just have to take the long road."
-
"Price of being a double agent, my love," Bombshell replied with maddening unconcern over her own pretty neck. She relaxed slightly as it appeared the Scarab's mood was more in the 'panic' arena than 'wrath' and uncoiled the rest of the way from her crouch, "But criminals rarely expect other criminals to do anything but look out for number one. It's as refreshing as it is predictable." Despite her words, Talya did step through the portal at Scarab's urging and then stopped, looking sharply around. "I thought you'd be taking me off to an apartment."

Phantom tilted her head to the side, her hood shifting before she reached up to push it back from her head and then pushed her mask down as well around her neck. She spoke quickly, rapidly, in Cantonese first, "" She touched the Eye at her throat and glanced at her husband, giving him a small nod. Phantom didn't know how but even her small sliver of uncertainty was gone now.

Okay, so.... combat round dropped for everyone but Trevor who was on the trail. Before this goes *any* further, I need that power stunt up. Erin can be in range to interpose, as combat dropped. Then we're back in rounds, skipping Eddie who'll be at the top of the new order. Concious or not. For ease, I'm keeping the rest of the order the same.

Phantom ghosted back from the group, silent and her cloak writhing along the ground in mute agitation. The hood cast her masked face into shadow as she examined Avenger with white glowing eyes. For those with the ability to sense such powers, Phantom quietly felt out the particulars of the powers embuing the false Avenger. After a few long moments, she spoke in a low voice. "How...?"

Top of the round, back to Zoe.

Drawing on the plans from Bombshell's mind, Elena knew her strategy and from the decades of Rhodes experience with the pretty thief, she knew the sort of tell tale passing of the woman to look for. The videotape of the museum had been an exercise in athleticism and showmanship. This was nothing less than a world class thief and ex-spy at the top of her game. In the minute shifts of wind current and flashes of movement in mirrors and the occasional camera, Elena had a nail biting front row seat for Bombshell's daring raid. As always, she worked alone and with a blink and you'll miss it movement, the vial vanished with only a white calling card floating down in it's place. With another whisper of movement, she was gone to her new 'employers', to work her way into their midst.

Scarab's sudden entrance startled the blond bombshell as she released her line to flip catlike through the air and perch warily on the cornerstone of a rooftop. When her mind caught up to her reflexes, she relaxed her stance but her expression shuttered for a moment as she tried to gauge her lover's mood, "So, I take it you've seen the news... I was just on my way to see what the damage was. Are you terribly cross?"
