  1. Erin's legs folded under her as Mike dropped her, putting her down hard on the pebbled path. She rubbed a hand across the back of her head and came away with bloody fingers, even as the wound healed itself up. Looking dazed, she craned her neck to look around the simulated scenery for her vanished teammate. "Where did she go? Is she okay?"
  2. Erin's holding her action.
  3. Erin fails the grapple check. She fails the HP recheck. She fails the Toughness Save. She fails the retest by 5, and is bruised and stunned. Down to one HP.
  4. Erin acted first, snapping into action the second the supervillain's words rang out. You handle Phalanx, try to keep him out of the sky. I'll work on Edge. The practice Erin had been putting in on the agility course really showed as Wander turned a quick series of flips, bat still in hand, and came up right in front of Edge. Before he could so much as blink, her bat was out, connecting solidly with his midriff. Or would have, anyway, if that side of the bat hadn't chosen that moment to spontaneously collapse back into the handle, doing no more than grazing Mark across the chest. Startled, Erin shook it back into position, giving it and Mark both a suspicious look.
  5. A 32 probably hits.
  6. Wander starts off with Fast Acrobatic Bluff against Edge. Roll is a 20.
  7. Wander's initiative is 25
  8. "When do we ever get time to plan in these things?" Erin asked wryly as the room began to shift and change around them. She took out her bat once more, opening it as she scanned for what they were going to be dropped into. "Guess you and I are a team then," she told Alex, "for whatever we're doing. Guess it's not strategy, though." She took a couple of steps in Alex's direction, keeping an eye on the guys as well as the environment.
  9. Wander wrapped up her warm-up session shortly after Phalanx and joined him near the door, twirling her bat back down to its compact size. She was limbered up but not even breathing hard yet, ready for the real exercises to begin. It was certainly a more interesting way to pass the time than with homework or solo practice. "Any idea what the scenario is going to be?" she asked, looking up at her floating teammate.
  10. Stesha consulted the menu again, brushing a stray wisp of green hair back behind her ear. "Hmm, how about a Mona Lisa roll to start with, and see where we go from there," she decided, smiling at the eager waiter before setting aside her menu. It had been a long day of work, with another long day to come, but it was nice to get a chance to unwind a little. "How are things at the bar?" she asked Moira. "They getting used to having you back?"
  11. After being informed of the rules on Subtle, I have decided to cure my own headache by just adding it to everything in Stesha's big array. If someone could make the following changes, I'd be much obliged. Snare: Remove Obscure Sense: Sight, add Subtle Disintegrate: Spend 1 available point on Subtle Dimensional Pocket: Spend 1 available point on Subtle ESP: No change Growth: No change Healing (plants): Remove Persistent, add Subtle Healing (everything): Spend 1 available point on Subtle Move Object: Spend 1 available point on Subtle Nullify: Spend 1 available point on Subtle Stun: Spend 1 available point on Subtle Teleport: Spend 1 available point on Subtle Done By Angrydurf
  12. Stesha took a couple of quick steps back and got her hands up just in time to keep the bouquet from hitting her in the face. She laughed and wrapped her fingers around the tied stems, raising it triumphantly and shooting Derrick a quick grin. That had been a very good throw. She wondered how Taylor had managed that one without anyone noticing. Nudging her way through the crowd, she gave Taylor a hug. "Thanks," she whispered with a conspiratorial grin.
  13. Erin took a moment to reconnoiter as she stepped through the portal, taking in the downed serpent people and the presence of the man they'd come to rescue. If it was a trap, it was a well-laid one, with all the bait they could ask for laid out in a neat line to keep them moving onwards. Trouble was, she couldn't see any way around following that neat line and just hoping they could scramble their way back out again later. While Phalanx spoke and Psyche used her powers, Wander began looking around, studying the ground and the surrounding trees for any sign of their teammate or where he might have gone. This primeval jungle wasn't exactly her usual stomping grounds, but the way people moved and the way plants broke and dirt gave way were pretty universal.
  14. Stesha watched uneasily as the guy with the glowing stomach was hauled up on stage. He still had a human face, but he somehow seemed a lot more dangerous than the robot squirming to try and escape from her vines. Still keeping half her attention on the one Phantom and Dark Star were dealing with, she opened a gigantic tulip flower on the end of the vine that entangled the robot, making it swallow him down whole. That and the snare should at least keep him busy for a few minutes.
  15. "What if the gate is the ambush?" Wander asked dubiously, even as she fell in just behind Phalanx. "If these things came from that side, maybe they were just a distraction, and Edge is the bait. Are we going to be able to get back once we step through? We could get stuck in some other universe again, with no one on the other side knowing where we are. And these lizard things don't seem to have the kind of technology they had in Erde, to let us talk back here if we need to."
  16. "I've got to be back at church by seven tomorrow morning, so I'm gonna stick with Diet Coke," Stesha decided, "and an order of the crab puffs to start with." She chuckled. "Gotta get my sinning in somewhere." Though it would take a great deal of normal alcohol to overcome Stesha's tolerance, she remembered enough about last time to be extra careful these days. She'd had enough embarrassing alcohol-fueled antics around other heroes to last a couple of lifetimes.
  17. The constant sound and motion of jungle travel had Erin jumpy and spoiling for action long before gunfire sounded in the clearing. As soon as she took in the scene of lizardmen threatening the UNISON agents, she leapt into the fray. Bat in hand, she went like a whirlwind through the crowd of stick-and-rock-wielding villains, knocking them down one after another before they even knew what hit them. Afterwards, she felt considerably better. "Is everybody okay?" she asked, looking around with bat still in hand and ready to strike.
  18. Erin's going to bat the nearest lizardman, and if she succeeds in knocking him down, she will continue with takedown attack. They are minions, so she is taking 10, for a 23. And keeping going!
  19. Okay, I think we fixed the math problem with Growth, and the whole argument about growth strike passed way over my head, so I'm content to pull that out and let the point dangle in the array for now so the rest of it can go through. Does that work? And thanks for the formatting. :D
  20. Wander is really, really, really paying attention. 31
  21. "Sounds great," Stesha told him, her mood lifting a little as she gave him a quick hug. "We can catch the matinee before I have to go in, take our minds off things." She took his hand, reaching out for the plant that would move them to her favorite secluded tree near the movie theatre. "I have no idea what's playing, but we can always sit in the back and make out." She winked at him, then whisked both of them away. She'd have to clean up the mess at home later.
  22. "Booth!" Stesha called back, angling her way through the crowd. "Might be a little quieter away from the bar, and we can talk!" Stesha was a veteran of nights out with friends in places like this, and managed to catch a booth in back that hadn't yet been bused. Tugging off her coat, she slid into the booth and waved everyone else in as well. It would be a bit of a squeeze, but they were all friends here, right?
  23. Stesha closed the phone and looked at it for a moment, debating whether or not she should take Taylor at her word. It was tempting just to go over there and make sure things were all right, or even to just take a tiny peek through the plants... No, that would be going beyond what friendship allowed. And maybe Taylor did just need some time to herself. She shouldn't be eating too much Chinese food though, it was so salty! That was also a concern for another day, though. Setting aside the phone, she looked at Derrick. "Taylor says she's doing all right, and she'll call us if she needs anything. So I guess for now, we just wait until she does." She looked towards the clock. "I'm not on till 1, want to go catch a movie or something?"
  24. Stesha rolls a 33. She notices the hell out of that guy in the corner, but I'm getting veeeeeeeery nervous about what IC is up to!
  25. Stesha breathed a silent sigh of relief as Taylor arrived to back her up and do some actual damage to the... robot? A ninja that was actually a blaster that was actually a robot? What? Setting aside her confusion for the moment, she looked for Derrick, but he was nowhere to be seen in either form, either still off changing or obscured by the wall of plants somewhere. Biting her lip, Stesha tried the only trick she knew that might work against robots and tossed out another seed, turning it into a vine that wrapped around the robot's legs and snaked up his body. Somewhat to her surprise, it actually seemed to have some effect, at least slowing the thing down! "Get it quick!" she encouraged Phantom, looking around to make sure the civilians were still clearing the area.
