Stesha's initiative is not good
-
There weren't a lot of plants in the flocking room right now, but Stesha's options were limited. She put her hand over the one lonely tea-rose bush waiting its turn, yelled, "Oh thank God, Fleur de Joie is coming! I'm saved!" then transmitted herself back into the showroom, popping out of a trio of stargazer lilies. "Beekeeper!" she shouted, trying to make her voice a bit deeper and more imposing than it usually was. "Your beekeeping days are numbered! Get out of this establishment, or I'll make you get out!"
-
Stesha's lie is only so-so.
-
"Of course, I'll be just a minute. You should wait out here though," she told him. "There are chemicals back in the back, for preservation and flocking and all sorts of things. I'm not sure your suit would fit, and your bees might be in danger." Stesha darted through the door to the back room and into the maze of smaller rooms that made up the prep area. She headed immediately to the flocking room and tossed on the plastic jumper they kept there to protect clothing and hair. It was, of course, covered with dried flocking itself, but that was okay. She added the goggles as well, fitting them over her eyes. It wasn't much of a costume, but it would have to do.

Stesha took the opportunity to get up off the floor, leaving the phone where it was. "Poppies and sunflowers?" she asked cautiously. "I'm not sure we have any of those in stock, but I'd be happy to put a rush on them for you, we could have them by day after tomorrow, or you could talk to one of the shops in town that keeps more of an inventory on hand. We're more a special order shop, it really works best if you come in ahead of time... We do have several very nice clusters of bee balm for someone's garden party, would you be interested in looking at that?" She was babbling a little, trying to decide what to do. Wait for the police, or try to handle it herself?

"Flowers by Design, downtown, some crazy dressed in a bee suit just crashed in the window!" Stesha rattled into the phone, then dropped it without turning it off. She raised her hands, flicking a glance from side to side. "Who are you?" she demanded. "What do you want?"

Stesha has no stealth. What stealth?

Right up until that point, it had been a quiet and boring day at Flowers by Design. With the June weddings and the fourth of July picnics over with, there was a space of breathing room before the flower shows started again. Stesha hadn't minded when Paul lit out early for a dentist appointment, and was manning the counter alone, with the help of a paperback novel to combat the boredom. She looked up at the loud buzzing noise, wondering if the power was going, just in time to see some nutter in a giant black-and-yellow bee suit barreling towards the front window! She didn't know if it was accidental or on purpose, but it was sure to make a hellacious mess. Stesha dove behind the counter, punching 9-1-1 into the phone as she went. There were times for superheroics, and times when you just hoped that no one was complaining to a dispatcher about being ripped off at McDonalds.

Fleur is ever alert to danger!
-
"Might as well put it up and see if anyone wants it, I guess," Erin suggested. "I can't think of anyone else." There was Hope, she supposed, or Quark, but the latter was probably too young and the former too angry to really enjoy a concert. The very last thing in the entire world she wanted was for there to be any kind of a fight on her first real outing into the city. "We can hold a seat if anyone does show up, and then they can join us. Other than that, I think we're ready here."

Thanks for doing the edits! It doesn't look like Fleur de Joie's new earth control power made it onto her sheet yet, but everything else looks good. Edits done by Geez3r

While the boys quibbled over who got to hold Alex, Erin, who'd had a shorter surprise fall, picked herself up and dusted herself off. She was still working on sticking her landings, but that would come. Running a hand through her hair, she rejoined the group on the ground. "So you're Mike's new roommate?" she asked the new guy. "They said you wouldn't be getting here until fall. Are you new?"
-
Erin dug her shoes out from under her bunk, and at the same time pulled out a cardboard box and fished a couple of granola bars out of it, sticking them in her pocket. Nudging the box back under the bed, she carefully unlaced and put on her shoes, then tied them again. "You said you've got tickets, right?" she asked Mark. "So we don't have to pay or show ID just to get into the show or anything?" Since she didn't have either, that would've put a quick end to her evening, but hopefully Edge's luck would at least get them that far. Erin didn't bother with a jacket, but ran a brush through her hair a couple times before fastening it back up into its usual summer ponytail. That seemed like sufficient preparation for a night out.
-
For all Erin didn't know what to make of Mike half the time, when he said it would be an okay environment, she trusted him more than she would have anyone else there. They were in the same boat, or close enough, when it came to their powers that she knew he had the same thing in mind that she did when it came to a safe place to visit. So she summoned up a smile that was maybe three-quarters real and said, "No, it sounds like fun. If it's not going to be full of obnoxious people, we should have a good time. And if it's a concert, it'll be dark on the audience anyway. Who cares what we wear?" That was Erin's attitude towards clothing in general, really. "I'll just wear what I've got on now." Her blue jeans and lavender blouse were already showing a little of the wear of frequent washing, but they'd at least be inconspicuous just about anywhere.
-
Erin shrugged, looking down at her hated English Literature homework. She wasn't as far behind in that as she was in some of her other subjects, and she couldn't think of anything she'd like more than to blow it off. Still... "I don't know," she said dubiously. "Is it going to be really crowded? I know some of those concerts get kind of crazy, with people dancing and slamming around and stuff."
-
Erin, whose desk was nearest the door, looked up when she heard Edge's voice outside. She paused for just a moment, briefly considering her options. "He better not be naked," she muttered, just loud enough for Alex to hear, then reached out with a leg and toed the door open. "What have you got?"

Might be fun, might be fun. =)

"We won't look anymore," Erin promises, still leaning as far out of the frame as possible. "He was just trying to help me learn more about history and the way time goes, and stuff like that. It was just an honest mistake." She looks over at Darian, motioning him to turn off the machine, or at least change the channel. The last thing they need is any more regard from some super-scientist of the future.
-
"I'm not worried," Erin assured Eddie. "My body doesn't really follow those rules anymore." She turned herself right-side up anyway when the new guy approached, giving him the once-over from the air before sidling in Alex's direction. "Do we know him?" she asked, a little suspiciously. "He looks like another student, I guess." She began drifting downward. "How do I stop this flying thing, anyway?"

June point expenditures for Wander and Fleur de Joie: Wander: This month Erin has been practicing her fighting style and doing a great deal of catching up at school. After being thoroughly outclassed by a flying opponent and crashing through a roof, she's tried to practice, if not flying, at least falling more gracefully. She's still not doing too well in learning finesse, but she's starting to be able to focus her attacks more, even if that means focusing so much on a hit that she forgets to block. And she's taking exhaustive courses in computers, history, math, and other subjects, as well as trying to catch up on what this world is really like. Super Movement 1 (Slow Fall) 2pp Feat: All Out Attack 1pp Skills: 1pp Computer 1 Knowledge History 1 Knowledge Current Events 1 Knowledge Physical Science 1 1pp saved for the future Fleur de Joie: Now that she's actually doing hero work, Stesha's starting to learn a little more about what she can do with plants. Once it crossed her mind that she could move other people along with her on her transmits, she started wondering what else she could do with it. It's very hard to take anything person-sized along with her, but if she can get the plants to hold something or someone for her while she's transmitting, she can pull it back out on the other end of her transmit, and that's pretty handy. Trouble is, if something's struggling too much, it just doesn't work very well. She's also started playing with her flower-potting ability. She can't do much with it yet, mostly just pick up a pot's worth of dirt and move it around, but she thinks it might come in handy sometime in the future. I would like to make an AP for Fleur de Joie's Snare array that is an attack Transmit power. I would like to have Transmit 4 (Attack, Requires Grapple). Basically, once I have an opponent wrapped up in a vine or a tree, I would like to be able to transmit them to a police station or somewhere not too far away. Normally transmit in combat is for very short distances, but the book says that at the GM's discretion, a character may be able to do an Extended Range transmit where they can go their full round distance (in her case a mile) if they take a full round and give up their dodge bonus for the duration. Is that something I'd be able to do?

Hey Doc, Wander's got 10pp in her now. Is she level 11, or does that not come till next month?
-
Erin was not nearly as fast at flying as she would've been at simply running and leaping after the frisbee, but the novelty of sitting in the sky was entertaining enough that she kept with it, twisting her body to catch the frisbee when it was thrown her way, rather than trying to fly far after it. "There are frisbee games," she pointed out, "but not really for just four players. Besides, you sort of need a real frisbee, and that could be a problem." She turned over to hang upside-down in the air, just for the heck of it, chuckling at the strange sensation. "This is so weird," she decided. "I would probably just sit like this all the time."

I'm going to wrap it up with the last couple parts soon, probably in the next week or so.

Since Fleur de Joie, my plant controller, already uses photosynthesis, I think it would be neat if I could expand that so she also breathes carbon dioxide and exhales oxygen. (I know this is not precisely scientifically accurate, but it's thematically cool. ) I'm trying to figure out what the best way would be to model that. It has been suggested that it might simply be a feature, because it has both benefits and drawbacks, ie good if trapped in a small room with other people, bad if being transported in an ambulance with well-intentioned paramedics. It's also been suggested that I take it as a limited Immunity to Suffocation, affects others close by, limited to situations where there is C02 in the air. So she can inhale where others would suffocate, and her respiration would help those around her breathe. Would that be the appropriate setup, and if so, how much would it cost? Thanks!
