  1. The cruiser began accelerating away from the charging horde of reconstructed horrors with Cavalier clinging to the hull. The closest airlock to the Star Knight irised open with a hiss that was covered by the roar of wind just as the forerunners of the most heavily armored drones broke into a lumbering sprint to close the distance. The starship angled backward at the last moment so that the blistering heat and turbulent force of its atmospheric engines blasted into its pursuers and sent them tumbling back into each other before rocketing into the upper atmosphere. By the time the inner airlock had cycled to allow Kyle fully inside they had already broken orbit and pointed toward space. Stepping into the ship's interior, he was greeted not by a Lor but an androgynous red skinned humanoid with pointed ears and a smooth expanse where most species of comparable build would have had some configuration of mouth and nose. Dressed in simple military slacks, impressively stompy combat boots buckled nearly up to the knee and a the jacket of a Lor flight officer left undone and hanging open over a bare chest, the Grue hefted a heavy laser rifle at the ready, albeit not pointed directly at Cavalier as it tilted its head to one side quizzically.
  2. Aim away! Go ahead with an IC post if you've got something for that in the meantime. 27 - Arrowhawk - Unconscious, 3HP 15 - Meatheral - Bruised x3, Aiming, 0HP > 15 - Sun Walker - Bruised x1, 3HP 15 - Miras - Bruised x1, 2HP 13 - ANTI-HYDRA - Injured x6, Dazed 9 - Sekhmet - Uninjured 9 - Set - Bruised x1, 0HP
  3. The sound of the drones' footsteps was abruptly drowned by the sharp, high pitched twang of heavy laser fire and the roar of atmospheric engines. A mid-scale Lor cruiser swept down through Korivan's caustic cloud cover like a massive bird of prey rendered in blocky shapes and hovered just past Cavalier, close enough to the ground to send waves of loose silica blowing outward in its wake. Six months prior no Lor captain could have imagined allowing their ship to be seen in such a state, carbon scoring across its nose, mismatched patches dotting the hull and obviously nonstandard modifications taking the place of the stately, subdued design that had taken countless committees to approve. There were a lot of things no Lor would have been able to imagine six months prior. Darts of deadly photons designed to punch through warship bulkheads came in a barrage, hot and fast but only succeeding in slowing down the monstrous cyborgs. A lucky shot or two vaporized residual organic material in a flash but mining equipment designed with durability in mind above all else was no more impressed by ship-to-ship weapons than Star Knight armor. Fortunately slowing them down was all the cruiser needed to accomplish. Flood lights on the vessel's underbelly lit up to shine down on Cavalier while a woman's voice sounded from a loudspeaker, "Making friends as always, handsome. We should go."
  4. Works for me!
  5. Under Sekhmet's glowing touch Set's deeply tanned flesh took on a gentle radiance, the tender quality of which was undercut as the warrior goddess reset his broken arm with an abrupt wrenching motion and loud snap. "GHHN! Ow..." "Show some iron," the brusque healer commanded as she yanked the shorter deity to his feet by his newly restored shoulder. "The mortals acquit themselves well but the titan seems unstoppable." Squinting as he staggered upright, Set watched as the heroes combined their efforts to resounding effect. "Ah, aye. I should like to claim my plan be unfolding perfectly but the boot of chaos seems to be on the other foot this day. ...where is the archer?" Sekhmet's expression turned dark as she considered the prone form in black contracting with the uniform colour of the sands even as Miras raced toward him in the moment the hydra was stunned. "His outlook be bleak." "His daughter shall have my head," the godling groaned softly under his breath, rubbing a hand across his face only to have it come away bloody. "Eugh. Well! The champions seems to have had an inspiration. An eye for an eye, mayhaps, oh Eye of Ra?" he suggested, electricity the same colour as his blood dancing across his fingertips. "Very well, storm god," she grunted flatly, dashing off directly toward the towering creature. A superhuman leap brought her next to Sun Walker, claws first so that her momentum sunk them into one eye of the middle head. At the same instant crimson lightning flashed from above, smelling of ozone and raw chaos magics as it struck the same orb, leaving a charred, ruined mess and raising screams of outrage in Typhon's voice.
  6. The weight of Meatheral's blow pounded the hydra's central head into the sand while Sun Walker's elegant accuracy split the weakened scale into an appreciable crack that oozed with the same viscous silver fluid that had been pumping through the reanimated mummies. Miras' smokeless fire followed right after and blackened draconic scales from the inside out. The left and right heads writhed in agony, shouting incoherently, "C()mMue! c0mMuN3! COMm*kzxxx*uNe!" and "end timesss come coilsss tighten ssswallowed ssswallowed all things ssswallowed". Even so, the massive beast's hind legs planted themselves in the ground, causing resounding tremors as it prepared to right itself and continue it's blistering assault.
  7. Welcome to the final phase of Incursion! While Earth has lay under siege the rest of the galaxy has burned with war. The Communion continues to sweep over world after world, converting most into horrific server tombs to fuels it insatiable hunger to expand its intellect and destroying others outright to create wormholes for some more diabolical purpose. They are outnumbered and overpowered but they have a plan. Legends are about to be born and one way or another the galaxy will never be the same. Event Ground Rules: With multiple threads running at once, timing is important. Players will be expected to post within a 24 hour period, particularly during combat initiative. If they are unable to do so, the GM may decide to narrate the character's actions or circumstance in order to move the thread along, skipping the players turn. If you know you won't be available to post when your character is up, try to let your GM know so they can work something out with you. Phase Three takes us back into the galaxy beyond Earth for the thrilling conclusion to our story! All space-based characters are welcome. We'll be posting an in-character thread that summarizes some of the events of the months since Phase One and players will have the opportunity to describe what their characters have been up to in that time during the event threads. Now that the heroes of Earth have been made aware of the Communion's threat, some of them may be inclined to head into space to continue the fight. If you have a largely Earth-based character you would like to see in Phase Three, explain in your sign up post how they would reasonably make it into space and keep in mind that they will be absent from Earth for several weeks of in-universe time... or potentially more! This also means that a single player may potentially have more than one character involved in Phase Three; if this is the case, list the characters in the order you would like us to prioritize them. We'll do our best to accommodate everyone! Sign Up: Sign up for Phase Three begins now and continues until midnight of Friday, February 27th. Phase Three threads will begin Sunday, March 1st!
  8. ANTI-HYDRA Pass round to clear Dazed. Set Delay: After Sekhmet. Sekhmet Move Action: Complete Healing on Set. A +7 bonus along with +2 Constitution means he automatically makes at least 10, clearing his Staggered condition. Standard Action: Charge ANTI-HYDRA, Combined Attack: 1d20+9 26 Set Standard Action: Lightning Bolt vs ANTI-HYDRA; Combined Attack, Accurate Attack 2: 1d20+9 25 ANTI-HYDRA Toughness Save vs DC 24: 1d20+15 30 Set Luck Control: Force Reroll ANTI-HYDRA Toughness Save vs DC 24: 1d20+15 17 Set Move Action: Start moving toward Arrowhawk. 27 - Arrowhawk - Unconscious, 3HP > 15 - Meatheral - Bruised x3, 0HP 15 - Sun Walker - Bruised x1, 3HP 15 - Miras - Bruised x1, 2HP 13 - ANTI-HYDRA - Injured x6, Dazed 9 - Sekhmet - Uninjured 9 - Set - Bruised x1, 0HP
  9. At some point between the moment Citizen shut off the lights and the moment Sekhmet began cracking skulls, Set was no longer standing where he had been when Madame Marvelous made her entrance. He was instead stepping out of the shadows behind Harry Langstrom and Alicia Gemmen, throwing a bare arm over each of the actors' shoulders. "This sort of thing almost never happens to new media stars, you know," he observed, leaning forward between the pair with a grin and positioning the smart phone in one of his outstretched hand until the camera could take in all three of them. "Food for thought! Now, say 'timely rescue'!" The phone's LED flash provided brief illumination in the darkness before the godling instructed, "Hey Meri, upload photo to Twitter, hashtag selfie, hashtag The Guardian, hashtag heroism!" The phone chimed happily before replying in the slightly tinny simulated voice of its manufacturer's patriotic CEO, "Okay! I've uploaded the photo to your Twitter account!" "Sensational. Ta!" Just barely visible in the glow of the display, Set waved cheerily at the avant-garde terrorist before grabbing Langstrom and Gemmen and pulling them backward into the shadows from which he'd arrived, vanishing from view.
  10. Set Move Action: Teleport via shadows to Harry Langstrom and Alicia Gemmen. Free Action: Be charming. Move Action: Grab the actors and teleport away from Madame Marvelous. This is using Teleport 5 (500’; Extras: Accurate, Affects Others, Flaws: Medium [shadows], Short-Range, Power Feats: Turnabout) [11PP] (shadow walk; darkness aspect)and Set is seeing with Super-Senses 7 (Visual; Extras: Counters Concealment, Counters Obscure [All]) [7PP] (darkness aspect)Let me know if there's any reason that won't work.
  11. Following a painful sounding crack in the darkness, the glow of Citizen's emblem was joined by two balls of golden flame wreathing Sekhmet's fists, their flickering light casting menacing shadows across her features as she tossed the unconscious forms of the two would-be hostage takers she'd already accosted to the dance floor. "Thy words be nonsense and they garb be nauseating, madwoman," the goddess growled in Marvelous' direction, stalking forward with her shoulders squared in unconcealed irritation. One of the criminal's henchmen made a move toward Sekhmet and she exploded into movement, arm shooting out to grab his face and toss him across the room into a pool table. The momentum of the overhand throw sent her flipping into a spinning kick that caught another gunman in the solar plexus and his unfortunate partner a little bit lower. The next actually managed to raise her pistol and point it in the direction of the Lady of Slaughter and her fires but before she could squeeze off a shot Sekhmet had dislocated her shoulder from its socket with an audible pop. Pained shouts covered up the sound of a fist connecting with the cartilage of a nose but the thump of a skull being shoved into the hardwood bar rang out clearly. In the span of seconds all of Marvelous' minions had been left unconscious or wishing they were, leaving only the mastermind standing as Sekhmet let loose a lioness' roar of challenge, the golden eye not covered by her sweeping bangs reflecting fire light and fury.
  12. Sekhmet Standard Action: Take 10 to Attack Minions, Power Attack 2. That's DC 24, using Takedown Attack 2 to get through as many of them as she can. Move Action: Demoralize Madame Marvelous: 1d20+17 30
  13. Letting a child ride on a motorcycle without a helmet probably wasn't setting the best example, but with Monsoon seated behind her to hold her in place and the chances of an accident significantly lessened by being the only vehicle flying a few dozen feet off of the ground, Midnight felt there was room for an argument to be made. Setting down back at the makeshift barrier just as the others were returning he quickly organized the various supplies into piles based on their chemical composition before drawing a few instruments from his jacket that were easily converted to the task of measuring volume and potency. Frowning in concentration behind his mask as he rechecked his math for the fifth time, the silent hero held up an emptied water bottle now holding enough hypochlorite solution to dose a handful of the affected civilians. They had more than enough raw materials for the whole group but he wasn't so sure of himself and his chemistry knowledge to skip a trial run. "Should work."
  14. Alright, 27 is the highest single DC, so we're looking at DC 31 for the combined attack. ANTI-HYDRA Toughness Save vs DC 31: 1d20+16 24 27 - Arrowhawk - Unconscious, 3HP 15 - Meatheral - Bruised x3, 0HP 15 - Sun Walker - Bruised x1, 3HP 15 - Miras - Bruised x1, 2HP 13 - ANTI-HYDRA - Injured x5, Dazed 13 - Set - Bruised x1, Staggered, 1HP 9 - Sekhmet - Uninjured The ANTI-HYDRA is dazed on its turn! Let's get some IC posts up there.
  15. Let's get Combined Attack rolls from Sun Walker and Miras!
  16. Midnight couldn't do much more than offer Monsoon a minute shrug at the child's reaction, careful not to release any midnight mist an to square his hips and shoulders enough that his silhouette belonged more to a man dressed in black than an animated shadow forcing itself into the world. His appearance was designed to be frightening, after all, though he sometimes wished it was a little more selective. If he was slightly more worried about traumatizing a young girl in Seattle than he might be under different circumstances he kept it stoically to himself. As Nina and her unexpected charge flew across the street to where the Nightryde was hovering off of the sidewalk - Redbird being reluctant to resume a more mundane configuration given the chance to cut loose - Midnight was placing a few bills on the counter of an empty convenience store before stepping outside. He carried two jugs by their handles in one gloved hand and a rectangular package in the other. He raised the latter when the girl briefly looked up from Monsoon's chest in his direction. "...cookies?" "Bah, do not patronize the tiny human with confectionery bribes!" Redbird piped up, tutting as she turned the handlebars of the vehicle toward the organic females as if it allowed her to better see them. "Teach her the warrior's way, to confront fear with a glad heart and overwhelming force, hah!" The Nightryde bobbed up and down in the air enthusiastically to emphasize her point. Midnight lowered the box of cookies slightly and gave the autonomic machine intelligence a withering look even through the blood red lenses of his mask before attempting a different tact. "Talking motorcycle," he pointed out to the little girl, his voice as soft as the filters through which he was speaking allowed. "Only let good guys have those." It was difficult to imagine just what combination of movements would constitute a motorcycle preening, but Redbird pulled it off. "Well!" she allowed modestly, "That is certainly true!"
  17. You could have Roulette bring down part of the room on top of Zaul if you like, Morrison, so that the aiming and build up isn't wasted.
  18. Computronium Mound Opposed Computers Check: 1d20+12 19 Alright, the mound is no longer 'pinned' and is able to generate more jackals this round, then! Good thing Maxima is about to arrive, then! 19. Sheriff Zaul Reflex Save vs DC 20: 1d20+8 17 Alright, with the Snare getting topped off like that, I'm going to call it. Zaul is going to be stuck there long enough that Voidrunners can easily make good on their escape unless they're dead set on going for a knockout which... may get a little monotonous, frankly! Never bring sand to a freeze bullet fight, I guess! Let me know what you guys want to do, get a post up for Ruby and then I'll move things along to the conclusion.
  20. Sheriff Zaul Toughness Save vs DC 25: 1d20+9 29 > 21 - Ruby Voxx - Staggered, 1HP 17 - Sheriff Zaul - Bruised x3, Bound Snare - Injured x2 12 - Roulette - Bruised x1, Master Plan +2 (1 Rounds), Aiming, 2HP 8 - Bliss - Uninjured, 2HP

I expect you'll want to spend that on clearing the Dazed status, AA? 26 - Asad - Uninjured, 3HP > 24 - Citizen - Injured x2, Dazed, 1HP 19 - Terrifica - Uninjured, 0HP 17 - Maxima - Uninjured, Leaping 1 Rounds, -2 Defense, 2HP 14 - Hronos - Uninjured, 0HP 8 - Compu-Jackals with Wings x1 - Uninjured 8 - Compu-Jackals with Wings and Penetrating Claws x1 - Uninjured

  23. Jack of all Blades Opposed Acrobatics Check: 1d20+15 25 Not enough! Jack is prone.
  24. "Both 'Lady' or 'Mistress' would be proper," Sekhmet clarified smoothly with a deep purr in the back of her throat that caused her Rs to roll hypnotically, pleased to be treated with deference for once. "I have come not to expect mortals to stand upon ceremony in this age, however. Consider thyself free to address me simply as Sekhmet, little scribe." As the filming began she straightened from leaning her smouldering golden eyes toward the less divinely proportioned college student and quickly made it clear that while music might have changed dramatically since the heyday of her worship, sinuous grace and rhythm were timeless qualities. Set proved to be no slouch himself although he was clearly hampered by striking a careful balance between coming across as nonchalant while also avoiding looking in the direction of Eliza or Sharl. Before long, however, Sekhmet stopped dancing abruptly, those same eyes narrowing before she stalked toward the conversing actors with a very different sort of sureness of movement. Without warning she grabbed the shoulders of a pair of young women surreptitiously edging their way closer to the focus of the filming and hefted them both easily off of their feet and into the air. The motion lifted their tops a few inches over their stomachs and revealed the unmistakable grips of firearms tucked into their skirts. "Treachery!" the goddess snarled loudly enough to be heard over the club's thumping music.
  25. Whelp! This may be a good opportunity for a Combined Attack, folks! Meatheral is up. 27 - Arrowhawk - Unconscious, 3HP > 19 - Meatheral - Bruised x3, Pending Fatigue, 2HP 17 - Sun Walker - Bruised x1, Dazed, 4HP 15 - Miras - Bruised x1, Fatigued, -5 Defense, 3HP 13 - ANTI-HYDRA - Injured x4 13 - Set - Bruised x1, Staggered, 1HP 9 - Sekhmet - Uninjured
