  1. Two of the drones Hronos was targeting immediately froze up and tipped over with a clang of computronium hitting computronium while another pair slowed down to a barely perceptible crawl before their formidable processing power began compensating for the altered laws of causality assaulting them. In the distance a series of small explosions one after another heralded Maxima's arcing flight through the remains of the winged beasts who had thought it a good idea to harry her mid-leap. The remainder continued their vicious attacks on the temporal manipulating robot and Citizen but for the first time since the heroes had arrived there was a pause where no new compu-jackals emerged from the mound. Whatever Tronik's favourite son was doing, it was working!
  2. "Nice!" Jack cheered as the obscuring dust was pushed back, pausing only for a split second to take in the revealed situation before changing direction to sprint across the lunar surface to skid to a stop next to Caradoc. His cherry red energy sword had snapped back down to long, lean precision instrument by the time it was sweeping parallel to the ground to slash deeply into the sphere that had slid away from the injured cyborg's attack, catching it on the rebound before it could reorient itself against the unexpected second strike. "They got piñatas back where you grew up, Steve?" he asked over the comm system, grinning through his visor and squaring his shoulder with his friend's so that they filled the gap in the dome with swords and determination.

  5. Sekhmet back-flipped away from the hydra with feline agility, narrowly avoiding being struck head on by a missile larger than her entire body before being flung backward through the air by the explosion that immediately followed as it impacted with the ground instead. Tucking into a ball and covering her face with her arms, she reoriented herself midflight, touching down again on all fours and skidding to a halt before having to immediately burst back into motion to evade the next portion of the merciless salvo. She was dimly aware of the stringing pain of minor burns across the exposed portions of her shoulders and calves, muddled by the insistent soreness of overtaxed muscles, all unfamiliar sensations and ones she could afford to waste no time on now. "HA HA, AYE, FLEE, MONGREL BI--AUGH!" The central head of the towering monstrosity of bone and scale and otherworldly metals recoiled slightly as a bolt of crimson lightning cracked downward from the heavens to strike its snout. The dark red electricity jumped over its cybernetic components but ultimately the sheer scale of the beast meant that it did no real damage besides attracting the hydra's attention. Having been tossed backward by the consuming beams of un-light, Set lay on blackened sands, unable to stand. One of his arms was twisted at an unnatural angle and his left eye was ringed in more blood than black makeup. Propped up painfully on one hip so that he could look upward at his attacker the godling coughed up a spray of red through a shaky smirk. "T-talk $#*%, get hkk-hit, Typhon." Head swiveling to the source of the weak taunt along with the hydra, Sekhmet pivoted on her heel and sprinted to the bloodied Heliopolian's side. By the time she reached Set her hands were already surrounded in a brilliant golden light. "Fool, playing at being a warrior," she reprimanded him with a low growl, dropping to one knee and wrapping fingers around each half of his broken arm. "Noble combat be no end for such as thee. Now be silent lest thy worsen thy injuries."
  6. The titanic creature roared in triplicate fury, shaking like a grizzly being plagued by stinging insects until its metallic spines stood on end. The central dragon head shouted in a voice like a volcanic eruption, deep and rumbling and burning over with hatred, "I WILL SEND YOU SCREAMING TO THE UNDERWORLD, PATHETIC GNATS! DIE DIE DIE!" Simultaneously the head to the left began intoning in a flat but insistent voice popping with the static of a worn out speaker, "CoMmUn3! c0mMuNe! Co//mUnE!" while the right head hissed in a dry death rattle, "the ssstorm comesss again the door ssswingsss both waysss the ssserpent awakensss the sssun goesss dark truth is liesss all is lossst," the three voices mixing together in a terrible, deafening riot of sound. As the chaos reached a fevered pitch the lean, alien looking barrels all along the hydra's back exploded with hundreds of bursts, the wave of muzzle fire rippling from its shoulders down to its tail and launching a hail of missiles that streaked outward in every direction. The deadly payloads crashed into the sand one after another, each resulting in a tremendous detonation of its own that together bathed the entire area in a spray fire and shrapnel, super-heated sand and dislodged chunks of ruined burial sites.

  9. Edit made! Try not to get stranded in any war-torn alternate universes! Since Monsoon is going with Midnight and has the kid with her, AA, this seems like an opportune time to remind you of Trevor's Frightening Complication!
  10. Whoop, I just had a brain fart and thought he was helping out with Mark rather than with the rest of the group. Sorry! Would you rather have him keeping an eye on the affected people or swinging back over to help Mark with the robots? Either one makes sense and would be an easy edit.
  11. The anitbody is in melee range with her but she's got a lot more room to maneuver than she had in the engineering room, so she could disengage and put some distance between herself and the antibody to fire off a shot.
  12. "Mind altering giant frog monster bile," Midnight replied to Edge calmly as he brought the Nightryde close enough to Monsoon to make sure she wasn't in danger of accidentally dropping her unexpected passenger. "Under control." He gave the princess a small nod and gestured toward the ground, swinging by the burning blue beacon of Cobalt Templar before gathering the heroes back together on one side of the makeshift barrier. "Templar, check on Edge, get him up to date." Dismounting, he scooped up a sample of the Frog-Bat-Lizard's remains from the street in a small vial from his belt and inserted it into an analytic computer roughly the size of a bifold wallet. After reviewing the feed of data he looked up at the others. "Should be able to create an antidote. Need supplies." Silently thanking every little bit of chemistry knowledge he'd managed to absorb from his grandfather over the years and hoping he wasn't straying too far from his own areas of expertise he withdrew three slim, palm-sized tablet computers from a compartment in his motorcycle and entered a list onto each of them. "Cannonade, you and Aquaria head east," he requested, handing Joe the first of the lists, mainly household products. A list of more potent chemicals he hoped the nearby hardware stores would have in sufficient quantities went to Erin. "Wander, Singularity, west. Monsoon, north, with me." The affected civilians would keep for a short time at least and he wasn't willing to spare manpower in their impromptu scavenger hunt or to leave anyone without immediate backup. With any luck Mark and Corbin would be able to mop up the remaining spider macrobots and get back quickly anyway. Lowering his voice even softer than normal, he stepped close to Wander. "Shouting isn't helping her. You've been here before, she hasn't. Be the big sister." Giving her shoulder a small squeeze with his gloved hand he moved to get back onto the Nightryde.

  15. While the Voidrunners hammered attacks into the uneven chunk of ice encasing Zaul they sent sprays of fine shards and tiny droplets flying out in all directions. Barely audible over the cacophony of slugthrowers, tentacles and optic beams were more ominous cracking sounds as the Sheriff's largely obscured form shifted and twisted under the ice, contracting and slamming outward to slowly wear down the prison. At this rate it was clear that he would break free before the bounty hunters would be able to wear down his considerable resilience.

Hematite turned about with a snort and dropped into a ready crouch against the last of the rooftop before the water, Blackbird's hologram mimicking the same pose with a predatory gleam in her projected eyes. "Hmph. So we broke some twip time laws and now we're stuck doing community service?" he summarized, largely ignoring the creatures that emerged from the submarine except to note how much force it would take to cross the distance between them in a single leap. "Typical." Daybreak's expression turned serious and worried for just a moment as he took in Marley's explanation and exchanged a look with his twin sister before a lopsided grin reasserted itself and he swung his sledge back down from his shoulder. "Sounds like some classic Young Freedom type stuff. Gonna need a better team name that that, though." He raised the hammer like a baseball player calling his shot, pointing it directly a the tentacled monster's head. "Dunno about you guys, but I never realized until just now how badly I've always wanted to beat up a kraken." In the raft, Mystery let her gaze linger on the talking cat before turning to the immediate threat. The hem of her cloak rose and fell subtly as inky black mist rolled out from under it and she retrieved her smooth, porcelain-like mask from its folds to affix to her face. Looking up at Sojourner she gave the markswoman a tiny nod. "We should get started, then."
  17. The antibody left facing Kharag let out an electronic shriek directly in the warrior's face as it grabbed its dismantled kin from his grip and threw the corpse to the the bulkhead floor. Staggering from his exertions, the Praetorian could only grit his teeth in defiance as the blasphemous drone lashed out, digging its oxidized metal claws into the flesh just above his rib cage. The deadly appendages sunk in to the knuckle while bits of necrotized tissue flew like phlegm from the antibody's mouth to splatter against green-blue skin. Across the room the second antibody forewent going after its original target to race single-mindedly toward the Kahi'iru archer. Originally belonging to some species not nearly so large but with horrific cybernetics more than compensating, it rammed into Sei's sternum, trying to knock her into the floor. It's uneven talons sought out her sides, clawing madly at her environmental suit.

Having made his way around the circumference of the tower over to Sojourner’s inflatable raft, leaving groupings of finger-sized holes in his wake, Hematite took one look at the talking cat and decided, "No. Nooope. No." He couldn't very well physically threaten the little creature without looking ridiculous but at least in his reality Erin White hadn't raised any fools. He settled for glowering menacingly, even if that was only a marginal distinction from his default expression. Blackbird's hologram appeared over his shoulder, posing with her hands on her knees to bend down and get a better look. "Fascinating. That vocal timbre is unlikely to emanate from a feline of that size." The autonomic machine intelligence's tone suggested she was more interested in scratching Marley behind the ears than providing an objective acoustical analysis. "Is that the weird part about this?" Easily hefting Mystery up by her hood and depositing her in the little boat, Daybreak skidded down the slope of the rooftop himself. "I'm seriously asking here, 'cause I always assumed Mom was pulling our legs about watching out for talking cats with plans. Like it was some Seattle version of 'the birds and the bees'." He rested his sledge across his shoulders and shifted from foot to foot. "...wait, is this why we weren't allowed to get a dog until we turned sixteen?" Even as he rambled his free hand was behind the small of his back, hidden from the cat but facing the boat. With a quick, subtle gesture he indicated his readiness to move. Surprisingly, Mystery seemed the least put out by the strange turn of events out of the whole group. "Um, I have a talking kitten back home," she spoke up, ducking her head between her shoulders, wondering if she was talking out of turn. "Her name is Lucie? She's nice and my friend even if she tries to talk me into stuff a lot." The little psionic's shoulders sagged slightly and tiny wisps of black mist gathered in the corners of her eyes. "She's probably worried about me by now."
