Typhon raised one arm to shield his eyes from the sudden sand storm before abruptly stopping and lowering it with a resumed grin. "Oh ho! Well done, well done indeed! Not entirely mortal, hm? Shame thy still be aging so poorly. Ah well!" The obnoxious titan flexed his form inward and white, feathered wings erupted from first his shoulder blades, unhindered by his attire, then smaller sets of wings from his fore arms and calves. A few wing beats brought him up into the air from the roof of the ruin and level with Set, largely ignoring the illusory sand buffeting about him. His twisted children were apparently less perceptive, roaring in alarm and anger at the screen of sand and wind assaulting them. The massive snake-like creature ground its skull teeth and whipped its tail out in the direction in which it had seen Sun Walker, the titanic coils knocking over dunes and sending bits of ruined necropolis flying. The half-machine, half-skin and bone chimaera thought to similarly swat at Miras with its claws and deadly tail but the time mage was long gone from the place it was attacking.

Typhon Will Save vs DC 17: 1d20+6 19 Anti-Eagle, Lamia and Chimaera Will Save vs DC 17: 3#1d20+8 22 13 16 Typhon and the Eagle see through the illusion but the Lamia and Chimaera are effectively blinded. 27 - Arrowhawk - Uninjured, 5HP 19 - Meatheral - Bruised x1, -4 Defense, Dazed,Pending Fatigue, 2HP 18 - Anti-Eagle - Injured x1 17 - Sun Walker - Uninjured, 5HP 16 - Set - Uninjured, 4HP 15 - Miras - Uninjured, Pending Fatigue, 2HP > 13 - Typhon - Injured x1 13 - Anti-Lamia - Uninjured, Obscured Senses 10 - Anti-Chimaera - Uninjured, Obscured Senses 9 - Sekhmet - Uninjured

For Jack the sudden radio interference was like standing in a light drizzling rain only to find oneself abruptly bone dry. With his team effectively blinded, unable to coordinate and still unclear just what was going on, the fencer found his frustration rising palpably. At least I haven't gotten shot yet. That thought gave him pause as he readied to take another swing at the silver spaceship firing down at them. Oh, son of a @*$%#--! It was the same tactic that made up his own proverbial bread and butter: keep your opponent too angry and confused to see what you were really doing. If whatever they were fighting wasn't actually there for them then there was really only one other thing nearby on the airless rock worth a cosmically involved ruse. Ignoring the dust blocking his sight lines, the metamagi focused on the familiar static thrum of his sister using her powers and set off in a loping sprint across the low-gravity satellite. Getting close enough to make out her outline he barely slowed before knocking his helmet against her own, grabbing her shoulder with his free hand so that she couldn't jump back in surprise. "Hey! The dome!" The vibration of his voice carried across the touching face plates and sounded inside Jill's helmet. She maintained her focus on her force field with some difficulty and tried to parse what he was saying. "What?" "The dome!" He pointed in the general direction from which she'd run moments before. "They're just messing with us while they make a grab for the magic physic rock thing! Also I remembered how sound works in space, I'm actually pretty proud of myself right now!" "Even after straight-up decapitating the red dude?" He shrugged as much as he could without breaking contact. "Jury's still out on that part. C'mon! They've probably already broken in by now!" Without further explanation he took off again, a translucent red blade the size of a surfboard held aloft over his head as he dashed toward the outpost.

What would Jack have to roll to figure out that there were some shenanigans afoot? Presumably he's noticed that the dust is blocking radio transmissions as well as sight lines, which is a little weird but he doesn't know how moon rocks work, so maybe that's a thing? The Communion ship's lousy aim seems more likely to make him suspicious.

The half-snake monstrosity seemed unphased by Sun Walker's barrage but it did turn its attention for Arrowhawk to focus on the serene simian, parts of its tail recognizable as rib bones clattering against each other like a rattlesnake's warning as it slithered forward. Set had been surprisingly quiet throughout the unfolding chaos, his narrowed gazed never leaving Typhon. Rolling his shoulders, the godling sprouted great avian wings filled in with deep russet feathers before launching himself skyward, the sun at his back. "Why now, Father of Nothing?" he growled, clenched fingers looking more like talons and eyes blazing with ages old enmity. "Why here? What called you out from under Mount Etna to befoul my lands?" "Mayhaps I merely missed thee, brother," the other young man called back, lacing his fingers under his chin like a wistful schoolgirl and batting his eyelashes. "I be no brother to you!" Set spat back, voice nearly cracking with anger. "Geb be not Gaia, wretch!" Even without pupils it was clear that Typhon was rolling his eyes as he sighed, "Not truly what I meant, but very well. Pay attention, Set. The star beast comes and whatever name thee use the Earth faces her final hours! How could I deny myself one last terrible rampage, eh? Not when I found myself invited!" His smile widened slightly as he made a show of adjusting the collar of his raiment. That seemed to take Set aback for a moment, his wings pushing him back the span of a step. "...who?" he managed, his voice quieted and ringing hollow as though the wind had been knocked out of him. "Thy know how the Greeks confused us," Typhon smirked, his voice singsong sweet. "I suppose we all look alike, we monsters, hmm? And those scrolls can be so confusing..." "Who, Typhon?!" Set's voice regained its volume and above the sky rumbled in warning. The beast in human flesh shrugged theatrically. "Admittedly I didn't catch the mortal's name." His grin widened well beyond what a fully human mouth could have managed. "When the star beast's children came he thought he was calling thee for aid. Should have taken greater pains with the translation, eh?" Set's response was an inarticulate roar of primal fury as crimson lightning lashed down from the heavens, striking Typhon squarely in the chest. Though the bolt of storm and chaos pushed the fiend back slightly where arrows had been ignored, the answering thunder was nearly overshadowed by the volume of Typhon's laughter.

Once he'd double checked his headcount and made sure all of the students had made it inside the scaled down chain restaurant taking up more than its share of one corner of the zoo's food court, LaMarr leaned out the door to take stock of the situation. Most people would have started by barricading the entrance way but the broad-shouldered civics teacher was himself several times more durable than any of the tables or chairs at hand. Seeing the line of police officers near the north entrance, he turned to one of the older students on the trip, a heavyset young woman with short, spiky hair and a serious expression even when there weren't berserk animals running amok. "Chantal, I'm leaving you in charge," LaMarr told her in a bass rumble, looking the girl unwaveringly in the eye to make sure she was focusing on his words rather than the chaos outside. "I want everyone paired up, buddy system, and you stick together as a group until Ms. Corazon or I can come get you, understand? You should be fine in here but if you think any of the bigger animals are going to bust their way in, you make the call." He'd seen Chantal run herd on her younger siblings with practiced skill and she was one of the few students who hadn't started panicking when he ordered them to run for the restaurant. Her curt nod when he finished speaking told him she was up to the task. "But where are you going, Mr. L?" Rolling his aging shoulders with an audible cracking sound, LaMarr pulled his sunglasses from their resting place on the collar of his shirt and placed them on his face. "Looks I've got to go lay some hurt on a pack of elephants." There were several moments of silence after the door closed behind him as the students looked back and forth between each other. Finally a boy with a shaved head and striped shirt opined, "That's a pretty good answer, huh."

Anti-Eagle Toughness Save vs DC 30: 1d20+17 25 Injured and Dazed! Opposed Grapple Check: 1d20+30 44 In a tie on an opposed check, the character with the higher bonus wins, so no grapple just yet! After some discussing in chat we're going to retroactively treat this as a Slam attack using Leaping, just to avoid falling damage rules which are as terrible as they are awful. Give me a DC 20 Toughness Save, Vahn. The Eagle spends its turn clearing the Daze. "Accurate name," Midnight noted as the Night Cycle pulled into the park. It was, after all, indisputably a frog-bat-lizard. Based on Aquaria's reaction he gathered that it was also some sort of primordial being worthy of terror from long past Lemurian history but ultimately that was nothing new. The 'bat' portion of the creature's makeup introduced some specific challenges, admittedly. "Redbird?" "Excellent!" the autonomic machine intelligence crowed victoriously from within the motorcycle as its frame began to extend and reshape itself. The front of the bike nearly doubled in length and straightened to hug the ground even as the wheels folded in upon themselves and transformed into glowing spheres of deep red energy that hovered inches off of the ground within the arches at either end of the vehicle. Within moments the earthly design had been replaced with something more resembling the wyldrides of the Terminus albeit with an aesthetic bent better suiting its rider. "Power cores online! We are combat ready, haha!" Even in its new form the seat had enough room to accommodate a second person assuming personal space wasn't being held at a premium. Midnight glanced over his shoulder at Wander. "Templar, get above it," he spoke aloud to the others. "Monsoon, want water on our side, please. Pull it back down. Everyone else: hit it."

Arrowhawk's volley flew quick and true, too fast for the massive chimaera formed of rotted bones and twisted metal to swat them out of the air, and each arrow found its target... before clattering harmlessly to the roof of the ruined necropolis Typhon was standing upon. Making a show of checking to see if the nails on one hand had been chipped, Typhon's smirk widened into a grin full of shark's teeth. "Oh, a fine showing! I knew Philoctetes, grandpatḗr, and thy be no Philoctetes. No weapon nor magics devised by mortal mind may harm the Father of all Monsters!" In response the trio of gigantic terrors growled in unison and began advancing on the heroes, the snake tailed abomination focusing on the offending archer with a low, rumbling hiss.
-
That hits! And... does absolutely nothing. Have another HP, Arrowhawk. Mechanically this is an Immunity at work, not Impervious. Miras' Super Senses let her surmise pretty easily that this is a similar sort of effect as what she senses from Set and Sekhmet's powers. She can draw whatever conclusions from that that she likes. 27 - Arrowhawk - Uninjured, 5HP > 19 - Meatheral - Uninjured, 2HP 18 - Anti-Eagle - Uninjured 17 - Sun Walker - Uninjured, 6HP 16 - Set - Uninjured, 4HP 15 - Miras - Uninjured, 2HP 13 - Typhon - Uninjured 13 - Anti-Lamia - Uninjured 10 - Anti Chimaera - Uninjured 9 - Sekhmet - Uninjured

I'll give Ruby that HP back for the significant setback. If Roulette is letting the Daze stand, Bliss is up. 21 - Ruby Voxx - Staggered, Dazed, 1HP 17 - Sheriff Zaul - Uninjured 12 - Roulette - Bruised x1, Dazed, 4HP > 8 - Bliss - Uninjured, 3HP

The round from Ruby's pistol penetrated deep into Zaul's sternum, a small puff of grainy particulates exploding from the point of impact... and then another cloud from his back as the projectile passed clean through and struck the rubble Roulette had created, coating the fallen rocks with a layer of ice. Well now, girlie, I reckon you surely did show me," the sheriff drawled, tipping the brim of his hat up with one index finger and smirking. The other arm her rose to point at the Voidrunner as it instantly transformed into a torrent of sand blasting hard enough to strip paint from metal, a cone of deafening, blinding force that encompassed both Ruby and Roulette while Bliss watched!

Hronos' calculations proved to be exactly right as more than a dozen new computronium jackals broke free from the growing mound, the even increasing outpouring of creatures barely seeming to slow the nanobots' greedy transformation of materials. The glassy green mountain heated to a glowing red where Citizen's beams struck it but the energy quickly dissipated, leaving only a scorched patch on its surface. It seemed for a moment as though the attack had had no effect at all but Terrifica's analytical acumen allowed her to notice the ribbons of gold tracing throughout the computronium rerouting to avoid the blackened sector. She was given precious little time to dwell on the information as the lone flightless guard beast doggedly sprinted after her, jaws snapping at her shins! Similarly the sole winged jackal to avoid Hronos' release of chronal power raked its claws across the mechanical man's back, the scrape of computronium on blue and white alloys screeching through the air. A number of the newest beasts circled around Citizen, seeming to recognize him as the most immediate threat. Where the previous generation had been stymied by the hardened shell worn by the artificial teen this batch sported filament thin talons that seemed to have lost none of their hardness as they attacked without mercy or hesitation! A second squadron zoomed past the group of heroes with shocking speed, making a beeline for Maxima, still hanging in the air after her titanic leap!
