  2. Sure, Rav, Wail could be on hand to keep Anya out of trouble.
  3. With his Speed 2 he can make it to the cargo bay but since he's staggered he'd need to Surge to do anything else once he got there. Of course, trying to save the refugees even when he's pretty beat up himself would be the honorable thing to do and probably worth an HP...
  4. The plot will kick up again tomorrow, so consider the chance to weigh in IC going once, going twice...
  5. Rob, consider Kharag up in initiative, go ahead. 29 - Seikahi’ino - Uninjured, 3HP 17 - Elite - Uninjured, 1HP > 17 - Kharag - Staggered, 0HP 17 - Deep Freeze - Fatigued, Staggered, 0HP 9 - Paradigm - Uninjured, 2HP 9 - Antibodies x4 - Uninjured 9 - Antibodies - Bound/Helpless x1, Unconscious x2, Unconscious x4, Unconscious x5 8 - Communion Warship - Staggered, Bruised x2
  6. Alright, well, from the edge of the computronium she's about two kilometers from the center, but I'd be willing to round that down and call it roughly 5000' for your purposes here. That would still be three rounds but I'll see if I can't give her something to do in the meantime! 24 - Citizen - Uninjured, 2HP 19 - Terrifica - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Maxima - Uninjured, Leaping 3 Rounds, 2HP > 14 - Hronos - Uninjured, 0HP 8 - Compu-Jackals x2 - Uninjured, -2 Defense 8 - Compu-Jackals with Wings x5 - Disabled 8 - Compu-Jackals x5 - Disabled
  7. With both Wander and Singularity keeping the self-replicating robots off of them temporarily Midnight and Cobalt Templar were able to concentrate on their investigation which was excellent but more than a little concerning. No one was harder on Erin than herself and Trevor had seen that extend to her alternate counterparts before. If Jesse didn't fight well Erin would consider it a reflection on her, if she fought too well Erin would feel guilty for pushing the girl back into the patterns they'd rescued her from in the first place. He couldn't even begin to get a read on how the whole thing might effect the much more fragile version; he couldn't seem to help looking for familiar cues in Jesse's expression that simply weren't there - or which were there but really shouldn't have been. With effort he compartmentalized those concerns, breaking off a piece of his mind to consider the issue quietly while the larger part focused on more immediate concerns. "Containment unit," he observed to Templar, not worrying over the technical arcane terminology. "Lost power. Ancient. Why now...? Hhn." He turned his attention to the mechanical spiders ripping apart their surroundings to crudely manufacture more of themselves. The scale was completely different but the concept was the same. He sucked in a silent breath. "Communion nanobots. Macrobots," he corrected himself flatly, breaking off another piece of his mind to try to sort out the timeline implied by the connections that drew. "Prototypes. Aquaria--" --didn't have a communicator. Dammit. "Cannonade, need Aquaria at the obelisk. Think you can clear a path?" The last question was directed at Corbin but even leeched of inflection by the filters of the dark detective's mask it was obviously rhetorical.
  8. Ghost Girl was interrupted from responding to Wraith by Equinox's bolt of flame, the poltergeist's mutable form going rigid and spiky with terror at the presence of so much fire so suddenly and so close. No no hot burning no ashes please no NO She willed her clenched eyes open with tremendous effort, mind screaming unintelligibly as she watched Indira's blow glance off the surprisingly durable 'angel'. Her friend, her friend who was fighting, in danger right now, who was trying to tell her something. The shadows beneath her hood deepened without regard for any light source until only two pinpricks of chilling blue light could be seen while her fingers lengthened into inhuman talons. Nanites? Oh! Nanites! Oh oh oh! With a howling gust of polar winds alien to the region she flew forward, making a beeline for the tightly packed group of cultists reeling from the whiplash of Nick's power. Instead of stopping when she reached them she continued straight through the first body, passing effortlessly into the next and then the one after that. In her wake tiny static shocks and puff of smoke trailed while fine, silver sand dropped to the rooftop, harmless. She whirled on the angel, the faerie fires of her eyes joined by entirely too many jagged, icicle-like teeth. "Shut up, shut up, shut up or we'll eat your FACE!" she howled with the fury of a blizzard pouring through the gap left by a door torn from its hinges.
  9. Midnight Investigate Check: 1d20+15 25 Investigate Check, HP reroll: 1d20+15 23 That becomes a 33.
  10. Geez, since Phoenix still hasn't posted actions for Terrifica, feel free to post for Maxima in the meantime.
  11. Ghost Girl Will Save vs DC 21: 1d20+10 29 Move Action: Fly to Cultists. Standard Action: Disrupt Electronics: Damage 12 (Extras: Affects Corporeal, Autofire, Linked [Drain], Flaws: Limited [Objects], Limited [Electronics], Power Feats: Accurate 2) [14PP] (disrupt electronics)+ Drain Toughness 12 (Extras: Affects Corporeal, Affects Objects, Linked [Damage], Flaws: Limited [Objects], Limited [Electronics]) [12PP] I'm assuming she can take 10 here. If it's possible I'd also like to spend that HP from the complication to stunt Takedown Attack 1, destroying the nanites in as many of the cultists as she can reach. Insubstantial should mean that she can get into the densest part of their crowd for that purpose.
  12. Miras' target fell in a reeking pile of seared meat and heated metal, leaving only a single tortured creature staggering forward across the sand. The woman who had introduced herself as Sekhmet looked the better part of a decade younger than the djinn mage but the glare she gave her contained no hint of deference. "Speak not of matters thy fail to grasp," she warned with a growl before her own first erupted in flame, bright and golden compared to that wielded by Miras or Meatheral. Dashing forward she set about the last abomination with unrestrained fury. Where Sun Walker's blows had belonged to a practiced artisan Sekhmet's display was that of a predator culling the sick and weak from the herd. With the immediate threat dealt with Set walked up to the closest of the fallen things and began muttering something under his breath. The words were not in English and came haltingly, the recitation of something that had once been rote but had gone unpracticed for a very long time indeed.
  13. Communion Antimummy Toughness Save vs DC 25: 1d20+10 17 Sekhmet Move Action: Startle Antimummy: 1d20+13 26 Standard Action: Charge Antimummy: 1d20+9 16 Communion Antimummy Sense Motive vs DC 26: 1d20+10 13 Toughness Save vs 22: 1d20+10 27 Set Reaction: Force Re-Roll Communion Antimummy Toughness Save vs. DC 22: 1d20+10 13 27 - Arrowhawk - Uninjured, 3HP 19 - Meatheral - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Sun Walker - Uninjured, 5HP 16 - Set - Uninjured, 3HP 15 - Miras - Uninjured, 1HP 9 - Sekhmet - Uninjured We are temporarily out of combat! Take the opportunity to get in some reaction posts and ask some questions but remember your initiative order because we'll be using it again shortly!
  14. The bulk of the decrypted data that scrolled across Ruby's projected display consisted of dense dense sensor readings that would require analysis by trained professionals before they could be interpreted into anything useful with petabytes of still unreadable data promising even more of the same. A video file from the basic visual sensors of Tig's ship stuck out from amidst the rest, however, and she pulled it up. The video's metadata indicated that it had been recorded at the edge of the Lor-Van system but it was the time stamp that caught her attention: simultaneous with the destruction of the Lor homeworld. Part of the image was obscured by ferrous rock, the edge of a crater of an asteroid concealing the smuggler's vessel from the instantly recognizable needleships, silver slivers of metal streaking purposefully back and forth in the foreground. The sensors were focused past them, however, on a much larger ship. It wasn't so large as the moon sized weapon of which the Voidrunners and the rest of the galaxy had heard rumours but rather closer to scale with one of the orbital cities the refugees of that attack had escaped upon, a much more efficient design. Spines curled upward and downward from along its edges toward the middle and from the angle of the recording it was hard to shake the impression of a massive, all consuming maw. The sensors had recorded well outside of the visual spectrum for humans and a helpful overlay showed bursts of radiation from engines and gathered energy from readied weapons. The maw station - mobile though it may have been its size and design made it hard for Ruby to think of it as a 'ship' - was certainly well armed and defended, practically beyond all reason but what had set off silent alarms on Tig's vessel was the sheer volume of transmissions coming from it. Lines of data stretched from it to each of the circling needleships and their larger brethren, while countless more speared outward to the center of the system and elsewhere. There was no mistaking it: the entire fleet of ships were little more than puppets and this was the puppet master pulling the strings.
  15. That's fine, Phoenix. Go ahead and post some actual actions for Terrifica this round.
  16. Jack of all Blades Initiative: 1d20+9 15 Jill O'Cure Initiative: 1d20+8 12 They both have +15 Notice with Skill Mastery.
  17. It had been years since Erik Espadas' metamagi senses had first awakened and he'd grown as accustomed to them as the standard five the same way one got used to sleeping through the rumble of nearby train tracks. There was no moment in which he wasn't aware of the ozone tang of electricity running throughout the city, the white noise of heat from a stove or a nearby body, the myriad of indescribable ways in which the energy all around him filtered through like synesthesia. So he couldn't fail to feel the telegraph tapping aroma of radio waves being sent from the group of Star Knights directly as Dragonfly and Caradoc. Erik had been attacked my mind controlled friends or controlled himself often enough that he didn't need to be a scientist to figure out why a bunch of obviously fake space robots would be singling out the two armored heroes and the swordsman felt his already thin patience decisively snap. Nobody but nobody was hacking his sister's girlfriend or his morose drinking buddy on his watch. "Ay, Rainbow Brite, keep your EM to yourself! They're pulling an Archeville, hit 'em hard!" he snarled on an open channel, already sprinting forward with bounds that could have been impossible in Earth's gravity. Ignoring Miss Americana's earlier concerns Jack reached out for the most readily available source and drew a dripping handful of viscous ultraviolet non-light from Caradoc's weapon, the sensation of the entropic power making his stomach clench and twist involuntarily. As he pushed through the nausea and pushed off from the lunar rock into a lunge the energy solidified into a wickedly curved scimitar which he raised in a two-handed grip. A heartbeat later his arc brought his down atop the apparent leader in the red armor with a merciless slash that cleaved from the left clavicle across to the right underarm before twisting back and ripping through the chest plate in the opposite direction. The phoney Star Knight didn't even have a chance to react before it was all over. Exhaling and letting the terminus radiation evaporate from his fingertips, Jack turned his attention to the remaining Knights and pointedly, purposefully shoved his glove into the gaping tear he'd left in the red armor as the force that powered it, weaker than he would have expected, leaked out into the airless void. As he withdrew his hand a raw, crackling blade of crimson came with it, longer than his usual weapons of choice, closer to a claymore than a rapier for all that it was equally weightless. He hefted it to one side and set his jaw, the blade responding by snapping into sharper definition while a pair of smaller arcs of energy emerged to form a hand guard. "There can be only one, pendejos. Get out of my sight or bring it on!"
  18. Compu-Jackals with Wings Toughness Save vs DC 37: 5#1d20+7 19 19 16 18 17 Explosions! Citizen can get about 300' back toward the mound, putting him about halfway between it and Hronos. 24 - Citizen - Uninjured, 2HP > 19 - Terrifica - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Maxima - Uninjured, 2HP 14 - Hronos - Uninjured, 0HP 8 - Compu-Jackals x2 - Uninjured, -2 Defense 8 - Compu-Jackals with Wings x5 - Disabled 8 - Compu-Jackals x5 - Disabled
  19. Citizen felt it first as his robot body's feet touched down on the glassy surface of the computronium: an insistent and intensifying stinging sensation like a hundred billion tiny pinpricks all melding into one painful sensation. While nowhere near as aggressive as the outer edge of the effected area there were still active nanites here as well, eager to use his mechanical shell and the soles of Terrifica's boots as more raw materials! The heroes soon had quite literally larger things to deal with, however, as the remaining pair of beastly constructs bore down on Citizen with surprising speed. The agility of the cumbersome looking chassis caught them off guard, defeating a combined effort to slip past his defenses but they clearly had no intention of giving up. The units circled slowly with harsh, electronic growls, probing for any sign of weakness. Meanwhile another five of the computronium mound's defenders broke themselves free from the jagged pile with concerning speed, the rate of their production increasing once again. More disturbing, this new pack soon spread wings of translucent green supported by protruding spines like bat wings or lizard frills before launching themselves up into the air to match Hronos' increased altitude. Their claws and teeth sought out the protector of time with savage determination, one going for each of his limbs while the last snapped its jaws at his face!
  20. Alright, things got a little confused here so new plan! Absurdist, give me Asad's Initiative when you're able. Whether or not a character is immediately involved in the fighting we're going to be using initiative order just to create a clear posting order and help keep track of where everyone is and who's doing what. 24 - Citizen - Uninjured, 2HP 19 - Terrifica - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Maxima - Uninjured, 2HP 14 - Hronos - Uninjured, 0HP 8 - Compu-Jackals x2 - Uninjured 8 - Compu-Jackals with Wings x5 - Uninjured 8 - Compu-Jackals x5 - Disabled Now, last we saw, Hronos was about 700' up in the air while Citizen and Terrifica had landed nearby. For the latter two, the computronium closer to the center functions as an ongoing Corrosion 5 Area effect. Give me a DC 15 Reflex Save to halve the effects of the DC 15 Fortitude Save and DC 20 Toughness Save each round you're standing on it. As an additional reminder, the compu-jackals are minions, so feel free to take 10 as desired. Compu-Jackals Charge Citizen, Aid Attack: 1d20+7 20 Charge Citizen: 1d20+9 14 Miss! Compu-Jackals with Wings Combined Attack vs Hronos: 5#1d20+5 14 22 22 7 9 A DC 24 Toughness Save for Hronos. > 24 - Citizen - Uninjured, 2HP 19 - Terrifica - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Maxima - Uninjured, 2HP 14 - Hronos - Uninjured, 0HP 8 - Compu-Jackals x2 - Uninjured, -2 Defense 8 - Compu-Jackals with Wings x5 - Uninjured 8 - Compu-Jackals x5 - Disabled
  21. Alright, Erik's not going to sit there while the Faux Knights beam space computer viruses at Mara and Steve! Jack of all Blades Move Action: Feint vs. Red Star Knight, 29 with Skill Mastery Standard Action: Charge Red Star Knight; Power Attack 5: 1d20+17 35 With Improved Critical 2, that's a Critical Hit so that's a DC 26 Fortitude Save vs Drain Toughness then a DC 31 + Autofire (up to +3) Toughness Save vs Damage.
  22. Communion Antibody Toughness Save vs DC 25: 1d20+10 11 29 - Seikahi’ino - Uninjured, 3HP > 17 - Elite - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Kharag - Staggered, 0HP 17 - Deep Freeze - Fatigued, Staggered, 0HP 9 - Paradigm - Uninjured, 2HP 9 - Antibodies x4 - Uninjured 9 - Antibodies - Bound/Helpless x1, Unconscious x2, Unconscious x4, Unconscious x5 8 - Communion Warship - Staggered, Bruised x2
  23. Arrowhawk Meatheral Miras
  24. "Oh indeed, dated popular culture reference, quip about advanced years, derisive banter on modern music," Set snapped impatiently and even those present unfamiliar with the godling's usually verbose manner could tell from the disproportionate amount of venom in his tone that it wasn't the battle chatter that had him upset. Miras was close enough to see the young man's fists clenched tightly enough to pale his knuckles, darkly painted nails digging into his palms. Overhead the sky rumbled threateningly. Beside him the lioness stretched backward and rose to her feet back in human form, the warrior goddess giving her shorter ward an obviously concerned glance while keeping most of her attention on the advancing abominations the gathered heroes were handily dismantling. "Set. Tis too late already too--" "Well aware, Mistress of Dread" he interrupted with a scowl, making a sweeping gesture with both arms. In response the sand around him surged forward like a tidal wave, sweeping over the remaining mummified remains and leaving one of them encased in a dune that became rock solid on contact. Set did not look at all gratified by his success. "Damnation."
  25. So noted, KD! Set Standard Action: Sand Snare vs. Antimummies Move Action: Configure Shapeshift: Flight 3 (50 MPH; Drawbacks: Power Loss [Restrained]) [5PP] (raptor wings) Communion Antimummies Reflex Save vs DC 17 [Halve Effect]: 3#1d20+7 26 8 27 Reflex Save vs DC 14: 2#1d20+7 26 9 Reflex Save vs DC 17: 1d20+7 21 27 - Arrowhawk - Uninjured, 3HP 23 - Antimummies x2 - Uninjured 23 - Antimummies x4 - Destroyed x3, Bound x1 19 - Meatheral - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Sun Walker - Uninjured, 5HP 16 - Set - Uninjured, 4HP > 15 - Miras - Uninjured, 1HP 9 - Sekhmet - Uninjured As a side note, feel free to make a Knowledge [Theology and Philosophy] or Sense Motive check to surmise why Set might be so upset about the situation, everyone!
