  1. This time three of the compu-jackals emerged from the mountain at once, the steadily increasing rate of production not lost on Hronos as they spread out to face him from multiple angles. Before the mechanical steward of time could deal with them as he had their fellows they leapt into the air with tremendous power! One caught the hero's right shoulder in its jaws from behind while another bit deeply into his left ankle. The third attacked from the front, claws tearing into the housing on Hrons' chest, apparently attempting to reach the Essence within. The vicious attack left him little time to reflect that even with the previous batch dealt with the newer iterations had apparently learned and adapted their tactics based on his performance so far!
  2. Compu-Jackals Combined Attack, Charge %5BLeaping%5D: 3#1d20+7 26 20 27 That's three hits including one critical hit, for a combined Toughness Save of 31! 14 - Hronos - Uninjured, 1HP, Pending Toughness Save 8 - Compu-Jackals x3 - Uninjured 8 - Compu-Jackals x4 - Disabled
  3. Maxima Citizen Terrifica
  4. For what it's worth, Jack gets 34 for Bluff with Skill Mastery and Jill gets 30.
  5. "Well if you wanna play it safe, sure," Jack told Caradoc and Miss Americana, cracking his knuckles through the gloves of his spacesuit, "but my general philosophy is that if something sucks for me it sucks more for the guys I'm hitting." If anyone present had an opinion on just what that philosophy suggested about him they either had the good grace to remain silent or were interrupted by the arrival of the Star Knights. The swordsman had never met one of the armored cosmic lawmen in person but the situation made the scar tissue between his shoulder blades itch. "Gecks, you said the Knights took heavy losses trying to save Princess Iana's planet, right? Does it seem weird to anybody else that they'd have a bunch left over to send here if things are still hairy out in fancy-pants space?" Communications back to the surface cutting out right when the cavalry showed up didn't exactly put him at ease. "Call me paranoid but I think somebody's stealing your whole-lotta-hurt-in-a-shiny-tin-can shtick, Steve."
  6. Between Chris having reported via Citizen that a whole mess of Star Knights died in the attack on Lor-Van and having Caradoc standing right there doing the shiny-armor-over-something-scary thing himself, I feel like Erik probably has reason to jump to some conclusions here, but would you like a Sense Motive/Bluff check?
  7. "Shush, Phantasmo, I'm concentrating," Ghost Girl chided, giving the foul-mouthed revenant a disapproving glance before turning her attention to the spot where the woman had disintegrated in the air. The poltergeist closed her eyes briefly and when she opened them they were twin pools of faint blue light. "Wow. Oh wow. That felt good. Like, really good." She wobbled a bit in the air, biting her lower lip and reaching out a hand to support herself on what passed for Wraith's shoulder even though her limb simply passed through her friend's silvery mass, unbalancing her further. "Like, deathgasm. Gosh!" Blinking a few times until her eyes returned to normal, she shook her head vigorously, her expression turning somber. "Death should not feel that good. I don't see a ghost anywhere but I think that silver stuff was messing with her brain and nerves while it ate her up. Like pleasure centres and all that? Whoo. Times like this I wish I could still sit down..."

  10. Kimber is using Super-Senses 4 (Counters Concealment [Visual, Flaws: Limited (Undead)], Darkvision) [3PP]along with setting her secondary array to Super-Senses 4 (Detect Death [Mental]; Extras: Extended 1 [100'], Radius, Ranged) [4PP] Super-Senses 4 (Postcognition; Extra: Affects Others, Flaw: Limited [Moments of Death]) [4PP] (Nick’s Necrovision)What does that tell her about what just happened?
  11. Trevor was, perhaps unsurprisingly, quieter than his teammates, squeezing Erin's hand before walking closer the screen and taking a hard look at the unfocused images of the figures causing havoc in Seattle. He'd been waiting for a metaphorical boot to drop ever since receiving word of Lor-Van's destruction from Miss Americana but he'd been expecting it to drop from above, not from below. The strange obelisk might not have been related to that alien threat at all but something told the dark haired tactician that even with Mark in the room they weren't that lucky. "Redbird, prep the Night Cycle," he called into the air, voice activated equipment spaced throughout the entire manor relaying the message to the autonomic machine intelligence while he strode purposefully toward the stately grandfather clock in the corner of the room. "Work clothes and downstairs in sixty seconds, everyone." It wasn't an instruction or demand so much as a statement of necessity. "Bad feeling about this."
  12. Yeah, destroying the antibodies is a mercy as much as anything. Communion Warship Toughness Save vs DC 29: 1d20+17 28 Bruised again! Meanwhile, that ends up being a 22 for Kharag, so he's staggered and dazed but not unconscious! He's still got one HP left, so I'll leave it to you if you want to clear the daze or save it and pass the turn, Rob. While you determine that, I still need a DC 25 Fortitude Save from Deep Freeze, Heritage. 29 - Seikahi’ino - Uninjured, 3HP 17 - Elite - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Kharag - Staggered, Dazed, 1HP 17 - Deep Freeze - Uninjured, 1HP, Pending Fortitude Save 9 - Paradigm - Uninjured, 2HP 9 - Antibodies x11 - Uninjured 9 - Antibody x1 - Bound/Helpless 9 - Antibody x1 - Unconscious 9 - Antibody x3 - Unconscious 8 - Communion Warship - Bruised x2 FTL Drive Repairs: 2/10
  13. Ah, sorry for misreading that, Vahn, I'll adjust going forward. I'm going to say that Hronos keeps his dodge bonus, since he had plenty of time to see the compu-jackals coming, so he passes the Toughness Save! Compu-Jackals Reflex Save to Halve DC vs DC 20: 4#1d20+4 12 13 13 11 Reflex Save vs DC 20: 4#1d20+4 8 14 16 11 As minions they suffer the worst possible effect and are all 'unconscious'. Since these are very much acceptable targets, I'll leave it to you how you'd prefer to flavour that in-character. Once you make that post, however, be aware three more of the beasts emerge from the mountain! 14 - Hronos - Uninjured, 1HP, Flat-Footed 8 - Compu-Jackals x3 - Uninjured 8 - Compu-Jackals x4 - Disabled I'd like to get Knowledge rolls from Asad and Teriffica before posting what everyone there spots but if I don't hear from you guys by tomorrow I'll post OOC for Citizen and Maxima first.
  14. And gimme some Initiative rolls!
  15. Sekhmet's ears twitched irritably as she ran across the sand and when Sun Walker's loping stride caught up with her she turned to look sidelong at Arrowhawk. "No lion be Set, though thou would indeed be a fool to lay hands on one," her distinctly accented voice emerged from the sharp toothed mouth of the powerful jungle cat, "without permission." "Focus, Lady of Slaughter," Set called from nearby, his own legs having lengthened and developed additional joints as he ran, sprouting short, spotted fur. They propelled him forward with better than human speed and sureness so that with his head start he reached the edge of the ancient necropolis just moments before the rest of the assembled heroes and he not like what he saw. The almost uniform light brown of sand and weathered stone was broken by ominous patches of dark, glassy green with ribbons of etched gold the reflected the light of the sun. The plumes of smoke, it became clear, were not the result of bombardment or outside attack but rather pouring forth from places where the ruin walls had been broken from within. From those openings shambled nightmare things, dessicated corpses trailing bits of bandages and protruding bone, their broken forms reinforced by misshapen beams of silvery metal and coiling tubing. Mouths hanging open, the creatures let loose harsh, electronic screams of random pulses and tones. Crimson electricity sparked at the corners of Set's grey eyes as he snarled, "No."
  16. For completeness' sake, Set is arranging his Shapeshift into: Speed 3 + Super-Movement 1 (Sure-Footed) [5PP] (hyena legs)
  17. "That would be because we're ruggedly handsome, incredibly brave inspirations to all humanity, Goggles," Jack explained before taking a look at Geckoman's space helmet and waving a hand in his direction. "Space-Goggles. Whatever." Turning back to Caradoc, his expression went more serious. "So, listen. I've got a feeling I'm gonna have to go loud on this one. How much of that Omega juice you sling around do you figure I could handle without getting crispy on the inside?" The fencer doubted the enemy was going to polite enough to stick to close combat where his usual tactics would be effective. He'd experimented with larger scale energy constructs in the past but it was always a risky thing. * * * * * Jill had already generated a half dozen dinner table sized disc of coherent bioelectricity by the time Dragonfly finished explaining what one loss of contact could mean, spacing them out to each side and over their heads. "Raincheck on the surprise, Marbar. How close are you to having this thing up and running?"
  18. Actually, since these are minions (and they've got a Defense penalty from charging), she could just take 10 and still hit! Save the HP. Communion Antibody Toughness Save vs. DC 25: 1d20+10 17 And, as a minion, that takes it out of the fight! 29 - Seikahi’ino - Uninjured, 3HP 17 - Elite - Uninjured, 1HP 17 - Kharag - Uninjured, Flat-Footed, 1HP, Pending HP Reroll 17 - Deep Freeze - Uninjured, 1HP, Pending Fortitude Save 9 - Paradigm - Uninjured, 2HP 9 - Antibodies x11 - Uninjured 9 - Antibody x1 - Bound/Helpless 9 - Antibody x1 - Unconscious 9 - Antibody x3 - Unconscious 8 - Communion Warship - Bruised x1 FTL Drive Repairs: 2/10 Elite is up. Rob, can I get that 1d20+10 roll from you for Kharag, like I asked a couple of posts up?
  19. Oh, sorry, Morrison, I assumed you guys were already adding that bonus into your rolls. Tell you what, consider the Master Plan back in the tank and ready to go when you say so; Roulette hits the other guard with or without the bonus. Broan Guard Toughness Save vs. DC 27: 1d20+7 20 Boom, out of combat for now. Someone give me an IC post heading down those stairs!
  20. Compu-Jackals Initiative: 1d20+1 8 Charge (Leaping), Aid Attack: 3#1d20+7 24 10 17 Charge (Leaping), Power Attack 2: 1d20+11 28 That's a DC 24 Toughness Save for Hronos. Worth clarifying that these are, in fact, minions. 8 - Compu-Jackals x4 - Uninjured, -2 Defense 6 - Hronos - Uninjured, 1HP, Pending Toughness Save
  21. "Mmh? Eve, what's wrong?" Becky murmured, absently nuzzling her face into the crook of the telepath's neck and stretching a long pair of legs underneath the blankets. The rest of her body straightened with a start as the team communicator sitting on the chest of drawers on the other side of the room demanded immediate attention. "Oh, nutbunnies! Sorry, sorry, just a second..." Extricating herself from the tangle with some difficulty and taking one of the blankets to wrap around herself in a makeshift toga she hopped onto the floor and over the the chest, taking a moment to will the talons she'd sprouted when startled back into more human fingertips before inserting the earbud. After a few moments of listening, the brunette's face fell and she made a beeline for the morphic molecule outfit hanging in her closet. "Eve, I'm so sorry, that was J'ou. There are some sort of alien ships attacking the International Space Station and the new Canadarms we installed last year can't hold them all off. All of True North needs to be ready to launch like yesterday and--" She turned around and got a better look at Eve's expression. "--and you've got your own thing, too, don't you?" With an exasperated sigh, she walked back over and leaned down to kiss the Frenchwoman on the forehead. "Just promise you'll be careful and you'll meet me back here afterward, okay? You still owe me a New Year's kiss, foxy."
  22. Vahn, give me initiative for Hronos! Everybody else, give me IC reaction posts and some OOC science type person rolls! Whatever you feel is appropriate.
  23. Asad's aide had just enough time to report that satellite communications were being disrupted and that reaching anyone on the consequently overtaxed landlines was going to take longer than the grim half hour window Citizen had described before the bulky robot had turned himself into a rotund propulsion system and rocketed away with the pair of similarly codenamed super-scientists. Whatever was going on in the Empty Quarter, they were going to have to handle it themselves; the rest of the planet had its collective hands full already. * * * * * With his head start, it didn't take long for Hronos to reach the impact crater by air. Or rather the impact mountain; what he found was a jagged crystalline mound of smooth, dark green already the size of a two storey building and visibly growing even as he watched. For more than two kilometers all around the central outcropping the blasted sand of the Rub' al Khali was being transformed into the same glassy green substance, shot through with ribbons of gold that branched out like veins or perhaps circuit boards. As if in response to the Mechanodynamis' arrival, a new, smaller mound protruded from the mountain and broke itself free, quickly solidifying into something with the vague proportions of a jackal save for its exaggeratedly powerful limbs, tipped with long claw and a head comprised entirely of vicious jaws. The green artificial beast took a few steps forward, turning to watch Hronos warily even if he could not spot any obvious eyes on its form and after a few seconds a second attack dog emerged with the same sound of cracking crystal and harsh, mechanical growl. After the same interval, two new beasts joined them and the mountain continued to grow. Without further preamble the creatures leapt toward Hronos, jaws gnashing! * * * * * As the heroes from the summit reached the edge of the affected area, Citizen recognized the alien substance reaching out to cover and consume the barren landscape not from his ordeal on Lor-Van but from Young Freedom's battle against the Curator: computronium.
  24. Set gave the crew member a scandalized look as he stepped through the gap in the stanchions, hands spread outward. "Madame. A god of Heliopolis does not perform tricks." His expression changed in the breadth of a blink to a broad smile as crimson lightning abruptly rocketed down from the heavens to play about the fingertips of one hand while a tornado of sand surged upward from the other hand like a geyser. Moving his arms as though hitting a power chord on a guitar, the godling worked his hips into the motion, playing to the gathered audience. "He performs miracles!" He let the lightning and sand run wild in spectacular fashion overhead, dissipating into harmless motes long before it reached the ground. After a brief pause, he looked over his shoulder to Sekhmet. "Tis usually where you have an aloof one-liner to temper my natural exuberance, oh She Before Whom Evil Trembles." The goddess stopped scanning the set long enough to give him an annoyed grunt. "Hnnh?" "Aye, quite."
  25. Well, with anitbodies surrounding her there's not really enough room to use her bow properly, but she could still jab one of them with an arrow as a melee attack, yeah. Alternatively you could make an acrobatics check to disengage with them and move far enough away to use her bow normally but the engine room is pretty confining regardless.
