In the beat it took for the renewed assault to register and sink in, Jack blew right past anger, past righteous fury, to a place of cold focus, rage folded like the steel of a sword in the forge to a razor keen edge that wanted only for a conveniently provided target. "Impromptu therapy session, kids," he noted in a tone that lacked any trace of humor despite the reflexively wry words. The swordsman spun to his right, greatcoat flaring out about his calves as he sidestepped a ruby red beam of deadly light from the giant flying head, the corpse of its former owner still visible in the cockpit. As the laser passed by it curved to slip into Jack's welcoming fingers, solidifying into a blade of searing energy. "Make it quick. We don't have time for this." Continuing the same fluid motion, he moved forward, kicking off the rooftop and into the air to land with both feet atop the charging torso, now a rocket propelled irregular wrecking ball studded with batteries of missiles appearing from behind retracting panels. Jack's sword pierced into the automaton and extended another three meters to poke through the other side. With a flick of his wrist, the swashbuckler brought the luminous weapon up and around, neatly cleaving the torso into two pieces. As he nimbly tumbled away toward his next midair target, both halves fell to the ground, undeployed munitions exploding within the ruined shell.

Jill winced as Beekeeper announced his presence and Wander scrambled after him, but had to admit that 'stupid' had an uncanny was of expediting these things for better or worse in her experience. Holding her breath, she prepared to lower a force field between the pair of humans and the alien newcomers, tensing a bit when she felt the brush of the translator against her mind. Ultimately, though, the trio seemed friendly enough that she stepped forward herself, though she kept her metamagi energies at the metaphorical tip of her tongue. It would be a heck of a lot easier to shield Baxter and Erin if she were closer to them anyway. "Uh, hey. Jill," she introduced herself with a cough and a small wave. "You guys are Lor, yeah? I think mi hermano actually helped out one of your princesses a while back? Like a high caste royalty or however you do it? Ion, Aya, Iana? Something like that?" For the first time she wished she'd actually paid more attention to her elder sibling's tall tales. "Er, anyway. This guy's kidnapped people before? The details have been pretty sparse out here."

Midnight took the underground lab in stride, literally stepping with long legs to quickly stand next to Hallomen. "Belt and jacket contain modular components for EMP, localized, directed or pervasive," he began, his tone lacking all inflection as he continued his list. "Faraday net. Chemical adhesives. Retardant foam. Incapacitators for hardware, software, wetware. Magnetic snares. Delivery mechanisms." He paused briefly and although he didn't move the inventor was given the impression he was narrowing his eyes slightly behind his unreadable mask. "Copious explosives." Unfastening and rolling up one sleeve halfway to the elbow revealed a magnificent array of multitools secreted in tight rows on the inner side. "For starters. Will handle 'contingency plans'."

"...dammit. And I used to really like space, too." Erik muttered, rubbing his forehead through his bandana mask with one hand while leaning a little more heavily than he meant to against Willow. The dryad's assessment left him feeling hollowed out, like he was going to collapse in on himself in despair. His mind scrambled, incapable of accepting that they were well and truly helpless to save one of their own, his sister. The enormity of it filled his lungs like drowning as he tried to grasp fighting something the Gorgon considered a peer. In the end it was perhaps only his inability to do so that kept him moving. Cracking his neck once, the fencer stood up straighter. "Alright. Last time something happened to Ellie, Mara literally split the heavens getting her back. We back her play." Admitting he couldn't save his sister himself took a herculean effort on Erik's part, but he set his jaw and continued. "Chris, get through to her or to HAX and see if you can spell out those cosmic coordinates for them. Mo', you said this stuff is going on all over the city, yeah? Where can we help?"

Midnight was silent as Fleur entered and shed some light on the larger situation. He very early responded to her question with a flat grunt but it occurred to him that the florakinetic was one of the very, very few he'd ever actually discussed his relationship with. She had a way of drawing things out of people whether she meant to or not. "...Erin," he said finally, quietly enough that it would have been heard even a foot further away. "Abducted. Getting her back." That was all that really needed to be said. "Functioning android?"

Stunned by the disintegration of the hovercraft and off-balance from the mention of her mentor, it took a moment for Gal Vanic to remember that the giant dome and all of the Curator's technology in Tronik were technically 'programs' as Citizen said but she understood his plan immediately, nodding and shooting off after him, legs blurred by the streak of neon blue lightning she left in her wake. Hanging back to give Sharl room to land a solid punch, she gathered crackling energy about both fists and lined up her shot. "You bet your shiny head they 'feel emotions'," she called over to the dazed invader. "I'm jammin' adorable." The last syllable was almost lost in the roar of released electricity that pounded into the Curator like locomotive, leaving Gal Vanic breathing heavily.

"Who would be stupid enough to try breaking in here? Besides us, obviously," Jill asked rhetorically, one eyebrow lowering while the other lifted toward her bangs. They been away from Earth long enough that her natural dusty brown roots were starting to show at the base of her dyed black hair. "Do you think they might be other escapees? Or... space pirates? Are those a thing? They seem like they'd be a thing." Rubbing her temple with one hand, the medic sighed, turning to jog after Harrier. "Guess there's only one way to find out. Everybody try to stay close; if they breach the hull I should be able to get an airtight bubble around us. Probably." She gave the others a shrug as they moved, retracing their steps. "Not like I've tried before. Or is this place big enough to have an atmosphere? ...space is stupid and I think I hate it."

It was subtle, barely a movement at all, but Midnight's shoulder slumped ever so slightly at Hallomen's response. At his feet, Charlie butted his head against reenforced combat boots, purring between calls for attention. "Autonomy... Knew things," the mystery man murmured, his rough voice crisply understandable despite its low volume. His mind replayed the few things the gynoid had said during its rampage, turning each moment over in his mind like pieces of a puzzle. "Memories. Neuromapping, reproduction. Little things wrong. Preferences, context." The director of HAX could see a wisp of inky black smoke rising from the cuff of one of his gloves, apparently unbidden. "Little things." Midnight tugged his sleeve back into place with a cold economy of movement, closing the gap and straightening his shoulders again. Whatever conditioning and adrenaline usually kept the shadowy hero going, at that moment it was nothing but force of will holding him together. It might as well have been titanium. "Engineer. How can I help?"

If it hadn't been driving at well over double the speed limit for the city streets in Hanover, the blue and black classic motorcycle wouldn't have garnered much attention, nor its helmet wearing rider. As it was, with the city in an increasing state of panic, the average passerby seemed to have other things on their mind than one reckless driver. Pulling up to the HAX building with an odd lack of squealing rubber, the bike spun in a tight arc to come to a stop near the building's doors. The rider dismounted smoothly, dropping his helmet on the handlebars. Only then was it clear that something was odd about him, his revealed face covered by a black, featureless field punctuated by ruby red lenses over his eyes. Producing a beaten black fedora as he stepped inside, Midnight donned the hat in a brusque gesture and made his way directly over to the building's owner. Towering nearly a foot taller than Hallomen, his imposing figure was undercut by a quiet but insistent mewing from the orange furred feline poking his head out from the neck of the vigilante's jacket. Midnight paused to undo a snap and gently place the cat, barely older than a kitten, down on his white paws to the floor. "Charlie. Erin's cat," he offered by way of explanation, refastening his coat. Even through the gravelly filter on his voice, Mara could hear a terrible weariness and turmoil. When he turned back to her, however, he was all business. "What have you found?"

Once she was sure that more tentacles weren't going to descend from the cracked dome over the city, Gal Vanic turned her attention back down to the fight just in time to see Citizen take a devastating blow. "Oh no..." the phantom whispered in shock. "Get up, get up get up...!" And then suddenly Sharl was back in the air with a punch of his own. Even from high above, Kimber could tell that the often aloof teenage genius was putting everything he had into each blow, pushing past all his limits simply because he had to to protect the people he cared about. Gal Vanic's eyes sparked with power and the space where she was hovering was abruptly empty save for another sonic boom rattling the ravaged city below. A lightning bolt that ended in a diamond hard fist cracked into the Curator's jaw before solidifying into the blue haired powerhouse, flying next to Citizen with a resolute expression. "You can't win this," she shouted furiously at the invading artificial intelligence, "because he's not alone! Our friends are gonna take apart all your little toys and I'm going to hold you down while Citizen wipes that dopey look off your robot face! How's that taste in your morning cereal, creepazoid?!"

Gal Vanic hesitated when she saw the Curator catch Citizen's punch like it was nothing. Could she leave her friend to hold the line against that kind of power even briefly? When he shouted at her a second time, however, the electrified ghost in the machine snapped out of her surprise and shot like a bolt of lightning up toward the tentacles. She knew Sharl would have given everything in an instant to save his city and its people; she wasn't going to disrespect that by letting anything happen to them. "Incorporeal this, jerk," she muttered mostly to herself before sizing up the mass of encroaching tentacles reaching down from the massive shape blotting out the sky like a cork in a bottle. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath. When she opened them again, they surged with neon blue light that arced down to her fingertips before launching in a storm of blinding power. Lightning caught the tentacles en masse like spears skewering eels, piecing them up and down their lengths before jumping to the next. With an angry grunt, Gal Vanic pulled hard and the massive tendrils ripped loose from their moorings above, pulled together into a writhing, sparking ball the size of a sports arena. Drawing her arms back, she compressed the mass once more, drawing forth a protesting squeal of straining metal, before launching it upward to crash against the dome with thunderous results. "You can just keep those to yourself!" she shouted back down to the invading artificial intelligence.
