That would hit her even without being Stunned! There's also no way she can beat that grapple. In fact, she's automatically Bound and therefore Helpless (unable to take any actions other than trying to escape the grapple). 24 - Geckoman - Bruised, Injured, 2 HP 24 - Jack of all Blades - Staggered, Disabled, 4HP 20 - Dragonfly - Uninjured, 5HP 13 - Fulcrum - Uninjured, 2HP 8 - Willow - Uninjured, 2HP 7 - Jill O'Cure - Stunned, Bound

Kimber's breath-independent clamour continued unabated as the situation continued to spiral out of all control around them. The lights going out bothered her more in its suddenness than any inconvenience it caused her; the oppressive weight of the power nullifiers was significantly more distressing. The electrified net crashing against the window frame was the last straw, however. Someone was actively attacking them on top of all the confusion! Headmaster Summers was still lying dead without being dead on the floor and the team was scattering in all directions and they'd just save a whole world more or less and it wasn't fair. The violent sounds of decompressing gas in the vents followed by trails of toxic looking smoke right after Indira slipped inside, however, snapped the poltergeist from panic to frantic, focused energy. The gleaming metal installations in the otherwise old fashioned office stood out immediately and Ghost Girl ignored her friend's instructions to soar upward and raking ectoplasmic claws through the electronics. The sensitive engineering sparked and fused as it attempted to share space with the supernatural. Kimber could feel the heaviness in the air vanish as the power nullifiers were reduced to useless scrap. She could also feel the cold radiating from the vents and instinctively drew her lips back impossibly far in an inhuman snarl of suddenly razor sharp canines, her eyes turning to gleaming black orbs. Her very essence was mingled with the primal fury of winter and some pathetic ruse of the living thought to emulate it to bar her friends? It was beyond an insult, it was an abomination and the keeling shriek she let loose informed the world. Inside the vent, the outer layer of Wraith's frozen bonds shattered and sprayed forth shards of icy shrapnel that perforated the vent and whistled through the air to sink deep into the walls, impale the partially autopsied corpse on the floor and slice through one of the window-covering net's lines. As an afterthought, the shriek turned into a mist spilling moan that coated a frosty layer across the security cameras observing the office. Resuming her usual appearance with a blink, Kimber surveyed the damage with a guilty look. "Oh jam on bread. Sharl, what's that thing?!" she asked, pointing out the alien looking object tucked behind the headmaster's ruined desktop computer.

Studiously failing to notice any height related difficulties or resulting looks, Trevor slid into the booth across from his diminutive friend. He spent several long moments pouring over the diner menu with the same intensity he might have applied to a crime scene, his expression flat and unreadable until he finally admitted, "...no idea what to order." He was at least conceptually familiar with all of the listed food stuffs but lacked sufficient experience with any of them to denote a favourite. Normally a visit to a restaurant was preceded by some minor research into their signature dishes or at least reading the opinions of a reputable reviewer or two. "Pie? Thinking pie."

Geckoman's foot connected solidly with Jill's shoulder but the medic managed to twist with the momentum of the attack, sending the brightly costumed hero skidding across the rooftop next to Willow. Nearby, Jack managed to force one foot underneath the rest of his body, rising to crouch on one knee. His body screamed at him with such fury it was almost impossible to distinguish what it was trying to tell him, but he recognized the feeling of rampant internal injuries. Gonna... be pretty embarrassed if I... die again, he mused weakly to himself as his vision swam and he tried to focus on the continuing fight. Pretty sure I don't have another 'do-over' in me. With a cough that felt like it was tearing his lungs into strips, he sputtered, "H-ckh-hey, hermanita... is this a b-bad time to hck-uht mention... a-always thought th-that haircut... looks terrible on y-you?"

Midnight didn't bother to answer any questions or provide explanations. He didn't have time and he was in no mood. It would have been easy to look back over the past weeks, even months and see Erin's journey toward this mental break but Trevor knew her trauma and triggers and all of it rang false. He'd been an idiot not to act sooner, to convince himself that it was simply the melancholy of the holiday season that was to blame. Recriminations were something else he had no time for, however, and with a screech of rubber angrily rejecting pavement the Night Cycle blurred into motion, nitro injectors boosting the custom motorcycle to break neck speeds as its driver wove in and out of traffic in pursuit of the fleeing powerhouse.

"Oh, you can just go to hell, you decrepit, pointy eared, moss encrusted bruja," Jill snarled as she back flipped away from Willow's attack, leaving the dryad to dent the rooftop. "'Oh hey, she's ticked off because we keep wasting time with pointless fights instead of doing our jobs! Let's have a pointless fight!' You can all go to hell with her!" Landing in a crouch, the incensed medic raised her hands with malicious intent, sending out a wave of crackling blue light. Jack had no way of knowing that thousands of force field micro bubbles had suddenly popped into existence in his very veins, blocking the flow of blood and wreaking havoc with his pulmonary system. All he knew was abrupt, searing pain as his fiery rapier disappeared from his hands and he fell to his knees in agony, struggling to stand or even open his eyes as a strangled protest crumpled in his throat.

Jill currently has Defense 29 and +9 Toughness, because of reeeaaasons. Jill O'Cure Hero Point: Stunting off of her implied PL14 Array for: Damage 14 (Extras: Alternate Save [Fortitude], Area [General, Cone], Range [Perception, +2]; Flaws: Action [Full Round Action]; Power Feats: Incurable, Indirect) [58PP] (force field bubbles in your blood stream, @$%s) Full Round Action: Well, you can probably guess. Everybody present (not Fulcrum) give me a DC 29 Fortitude save. Don't forget the Inspire! Jack of all Blades Fortitude Save vs. DC 29. (1d20+10=15) I'll wait to see how everyone else does to decide whether or not to reroll!

Those who hadn't met her before their current predicament could have been forgiven for assuming that long strings of vehement, multilingual cursing were Jill's primary form of communication. Certainly it was how she expressed her initial reaction to the growing likelihood that they'd been replaced by some sort of doppelgangers. "Nonono...You guys, she's completely surrounded by, by-- oh Dios." For a moment it looked like the medic was actually going to fall over, all the strength having rushed out her coltish frame as she pressed a hand to her masked face and trembled slightly. If whatever had taken Quickstep's place had remained undetected at Claremont of all places, surrounded by psychics and super-senses and whatever Headmaster Summers might have up his sleeve there was a very real, horrifying chance that they could evade discovery at HAX as well. "We need to get back home right now."

For the first time he could remember, Midnight actually froze for a moment as he watched Wander brutally murder a man from his hidden vantage point. Over their telepathic link, Renard received silence; not the calm surface stillness that usually hung over his thoughts but a complete, muted lack of cognition. It last only for a split second, only long enough for those less effected to begin moving into action before that internal emptiness unfolded into interlocking latices of cold clockwork. The first thing he did was set the second channel of his mask's communicator to call Hallomen's Advanced Experts, one of its preassigned automatic numbers. Good lord, she murdered him cold blood. Whether this was the result of something he'd missed after Archeville's breakdown or some new insanity, the scientists there were his best hope for immediate analysis. Wasn't fast enough, couldn't stop her. It was even possible that Erin had been exposed to something at work in which case HAX needed to be warned. Acting strangely for months. Next, he drew a custom handheld tablet from his costume's jacket, pulling up a link to the computers that controlled the city's subway system and instructing them to immediately stop all trains between stations. Taking hostages, she would never... If anyone went back to check later it would simply look like a programming bug had tripped an emergency subroutine but for the time being he'd reduced the number of innocent bystanders. Idiot, should have known, should have stopped it. By the time that was done, the HAX number had come back busy, evidently otherwise occupied. In a single smooth motion he slipped from his hiding place and into the room below, preceded by a cloud of stygian mist that cloaked his presence. My fault, failure. Immediately he was next to Eve, placing a hand on her shoulder and signaling Edge for immediate teleportation. Planned for this. Should never have come to it. Breathing in deeply through his nose, his place his other hand to the side of his mask and directly addressed Wander's comlink. "Know you can hear me," he began, and the sounds that came from his mouth were not a human voice, not simple language. "Controlling or replaced. Months ago." Each syllable was a scalpel of ice, each word a clawed shadow that gripped breath in the throat and held it there. "You. Will. Pay. Beyond breaking, beyond limits, beyond understanding." This was not a threat from a masked vigilante. This was a promise from a fundamental force that could not be denied. "Speak of retribution. Theatrics." The very concept for which the word 'vengeance' was a poor, inadequate attempt at description rolled through the com channel as mist rolling off of dry ice. "I am wrath."

"Oh marmalade! Oh no! Ohnonononono..." If Kimber had still needed to breath she would have certainly be hyperventilating. Instead she shot several feet into the air, arms flailing and pulling at her face in acute distress in turn. The poltergeist's mind raced with panic for several moments while Koshiro took decisive action and Sharl winked out of existence. Sharl, who'd just killed Headmaster Summers. Headmaster Summers was dead and Sharl had killed him! He was--! "...nonononnh-- no? Wait. He's not dead. I mean, he is, but he didn't die!" she blurted out, rushing downward and forward toward the prone form to get a close look. "I'm not sensing any death, and it just happened, there should be a whole... deathy thing. I don't know! Aaah, you guys, what's going on?!"

"Am I going to have to draw a diagram? Use shorter words? Loud man blood pump go pop, comprende?" Jill groaned in annoyance, waving splayed fingers in jazz hands to emphasize how much of her time was being wasted. "Look doll, it's not like I don't respect your baggage and all but seriously, you're telling me you couldn't take a five minute break from all that impractical space warp tech, let your screwed up brain come up with some armor piecing laser and put the whole Power Corp out of everyone's misery? I'm sick of this wishywashy idiocy!" Her voice rising in volume as she turned back the group at large, Jill threw her hands up in the air, where they began pulsing with sickly, green, malevolent light. "I see decent people dying in the hospital all day and we're messing around with kid gloves trying to spare this sort of garbage?" Her brother rocked back on his heels for a moment, mouth moving silently as he tried to speak. All at once Jack snapped back to crystalline focus, his mind leaping to the only conceivable explanation. "It's Archeville's maldito nanites again! Geckoman, get Fulcrum on the horn now!" he barked, adopting a ready stance with his fiery blade leveled towards Jill. "Willow, 'Fly, we've got to pin her down for her own good until we can fix this. Hermanita, don't make me knock the crazy out of you." "Oh, go ahead and try you pathetic, moronic little man," Jill scoffed through a feral snarl, jagged shards of blue light springing up all about her. "It's a miracle you can keep your pants on long enough to have a coherent thought let alone inconvenience someone with an IQ out of the double digits."

Jack ran a gloved hand over his face with a groan as the Pitchoo was rent apart. "I can't decide if we should have seen that coming or not," he bemoaned, producing his lighter with a flick of his wrist and summoning a blazing construct of semi-solid heat, flames licking hungrily about his opposite hand as they shaped themselves into a rapier. "Alright, moving onto Plan B, then." "Me importa una mierda. Here's your Plan B." Her expression cold, Jill raised the hand awash in bioelectricity and pointed directly at the cockpit of the massive robotic suit. The effect was immediately obvious, the entire contraction shaking as Craven seized up then trashed at the control, hands clutching his chest. His jaw worked soundlessly, his expression contorting in fear and confusion and from his position on the suit's arm Geckoman could faintly hear a wet something like a water balloon being overfilled to bursting. The man who had been so animatedly maniacal moments before abruptly went slack, his towering armor still. Jack blinked, looking between the halted armor and his sister. "...what? Dios, did you just give the poor desgraciado a heat attack?" "Of course not," the younger sibling replied without concern. "I created a force bubble the size of a marble in his atrioventricular valve, then expanded it until his heart exploded from the inside out." As Geckoman watched, blood began to leak from the corner of Craven's open mouth, staining his teeth and pooling about the control panel of the armor. "Problem solved."
