  1. "Yeah, gimme one sec," Erik told Mara, stepping around to face the remaining swordsman while Chris cuffed the wrists placed accommodatingly behind his back. He'd let the fire of his elemental sword die out and worked through the pains on the battle with crack of his neck and a roll of his bare shoulders. His posture said that the fight was over but the cold, steely look in his eyes was a far cry from the usual wry confidence his teammates were used to. Before he could say anything, the battered but thinly smiling Dakanan interjected, "I'll save us some time, cousin: you needn't warn me of the consequences should we pay another unannounced visit. We only stopped by because your suitability to raise the child was in question but you've certainly laid any doubts as to your capabilities to rest." The bald man attempted something like a sardonic tone but the look he cast toward the unconscious red haired highlander cut through the shroud of humour. "There's a good chance the girl will be the next Jack after aough!" His explanation was cut short as Erik delivered a merciless punch to his stomach, doubling the man over momentarily. "Don't let them anywhere near their swords," the fencer reminded Geckoman flatly, "and keep an eye on the witchy woman." Looking to the two women as well he added more quietly, "Thanks, guys." With that, he was sprinting back inside the house and toward the bedroom.
  2. Steering the plane as well as she was able, Ghost Girl gave a pained shout as electricity crackled over them. "Yiee! That hurt!" she exclaimed indignantly even as the orgami armor she'd borrowed from Koshiro soaked up the worst of the damage. Part of her was surprised he was still able to charge into battle with the rest of them if that was all the protection he had but most of her attention was focused on landing the folded craft. Coming to a skidding, graceless halt along the peer, the teen tumbled out onto the dock and immediately tossed a pocketful of flapping vengeance at their attacker, the animated cranes surrounding Grab in a whirlwind of tiny slicing wings and pecking beaks. "Hey! Watch your flocking mouth!" the hooded heroine shouted, hands cupped around her mouth.
  3. "Young--? That doesn't explain anything!" Grab complained from overhead, obviously not handling the chaos of the situation particularly well with Larceny Inc's usual bevy of escape options out of commission. If her hair had still been able to elongate it would have been pulling itself out in frustration. It was perhaps understandable then that she took the arrival of a massive paper airplane soaring toward the battle poorly. "That.... that's a... Y'know what? @#$% that!" Flying up to meet the bizarre aircraft, she let loose another burst of unforced electricity, bolts shooting wildly from her fingertips at the heroic reinforcements.

  5. Diplomacy Check. (1d20+15=17) Boo. She should still have two HP, so... Diplomacy Check, HP Reroll. (1d20+15=35) Ha! That's 39 if Attractive applies. Either way, that should actually be enough to take Milliner from Hostile to Friendly.
  6. Can Wail get in a surprise round here? I'm not sure how stealthy their entrance really was! (As an aside, I described him carrying her over the fence when he jumped. Should take that bit out?)
  7. Trevor had been glowering ever since he'd deduced Medea's involvement, a typically reserved expression that was mainly differentiated from neutrality by a silence that was even stonier than usual. He really didn't care for magic, when it came down to it. For one thing, what rules there were to sorcery seemed entirely too fluid by the engineer's standards. For another, villainous practitioners had an understandable but equally frustrating habit of singling out Wander for mind control or entropic curses or any number of other deadly attacks. Combined with Medea's past insinuations about her history with his grandfather, the young man could feel the tension ratcheting up between his shoulder blades. "Stealth, then," he interjected finally. "Knock her out, signal you." His gaze took in the rest of the team; the Liberty League's measure of subtlety was not exactly evenly distributed.

  9. Kimber and Roy floated effortlessly through the doors of the Wonder Car, maneuvering their respective pets through the open windows. "Oh wow, it's very shiny and new!" Kimber praised, looking about the high tech interior with interest. "Just look at all the light-up bits! I thought it'd be bigger on the inside, though." Roy's head and one of Argus' cocked to one side in confusion while another positioned itself out the window, tail wagging in anticipation of the wind in her fur. "Er, sorry?" "Well, it's just that we got our bus from this really nice space sasquatch, see, and it's got pretty much a whole house on the inside, lots of rooms and everything!" the Prime poltergeist explained, indicating the physics defying nature of the Wonder Bus with elaborate and emphatic hand gestures. "It's a bit... paisley, admittedly." Roy's jaw dropped further than someone with actual skin and bones probably could have managed. "You have a magic bus? Outrageous!" "Well, Sharl says it's not really magic but he says that about everything so..." The local ghost snorted. "Oh, don't look at me. I'm just a post-mortem free roaming psychic echo," he quoted, doing what ended up being a fairly good imitation of the holographic skeptic. Kimber stifled a snort, covering her mouth with the back of one hand and gesturing for silence with the other as Avro climbed up her arm and settled down on her shoulder with a contemptuous glance in the puppy's direction. "Shh, shh, stop it! You shouldn't make fun, it's just the way they were raised."

  12. "Yeah, got that from the 'steel bones, brick flesh' bit," Wail agreed, handling the sudden escalation in the severity of the situation with the ease of someone who could legitimately say he'd been in worse situations. The earsplitting educator flexed his knees for a moment and leapt over the fence around the junkyard as if it were a worn down speed bump. Landing with a resounding thump, he continued toward the unsettling sounds without waiting for the teenager to devise her own way past the barrier. "Could have been this sister I knew back in the day, Brickhouse, but she moved to Delaware, oh, fifteen years back. "
  13. Trevor lifted his eyebrows just above the lenses of his sunglasses for a moment when Quo-Dis suggested it was a 'fair match', his expression difficult to read but edging toward amusement. "Busy years," he noted in reference to their time at Claremont as he unbuttoned his shirt's cuff and rolled the sleeve up over a pale, impeccably toned bicep. Although still lean by nature, Trevor had grown fully into his tall frame over the past years and up close it was hard to miss his honed athleticism. "Lots of drama to occupy." Rolling his shoulder to loosen it, he placed his own elbow on the bar. "Past is tissue trauma; tears down to build up."
  14. Alright, feel free to get in a post regrouping and/or reacting before Erik makes a big scary speech and we move things back inside.
  15. The twisting ripple in the fabric of space lanced toward the robed woman, an audible shattering sound accompanying a tremor in the air as her invisible shield was torn asunder. With a shriek, she was flung backward, lifting off of the ground briefly before tumbling for a few feet more along the street. She struggled to lift herself into an upright position, awake but clearly having had the fight knocked out of her by the backlash of expended forces. The disarmed Dakanan swordsman glanced at the groaning practitioner for a brief moment, noting Fulcrum's recovery and Dragonfly's demonstration of power. "Oh my. Quite the unexpected rout." With a forced smile, he raised both hands with the wrists together. "I must avail myself of your mercy and surrender."

  18. "Oh my goodness, Malian is outrageously ripped! We were just talking about how pumped a boy-Mali would have to be," Kimber told Roy as the ghosts floated above the heads of the combined group, respective pets kept away from each other. Her Earth-XX counterpart laughed. "Ha, seriously, right? I was telling Indi that girl-Kris would have to be like three apples tall and she totally is!" Looking ahead at the holograms leading the way, he admitted, "I owe Sharla an apology, though, I guess! I figured her double would be Sharlton or Sharles or something a little more outrageous, y'know?" "I totally do know!" Kimber agreed emphatically. "Actually, everybody's name seems to be a lot closer than ours, huh?" Roy placed a contemplative hand on his chin as he rolled over as if doing a backstroke through the air, the cerberus puppy lying down on his chest with a staged, triple yawn. "Hm. Well, mine's short for Leroy--" The female phantom slapped her free hand to her cheek in realization. "And mine's short for Kimberly! Rad! Ghost high five!" The pair exchanged the enthusiastic gesture with gusto.
  19. The corner of Trevor's mouth twitched in what might have been a hint of an amused smile. "'Human' being the operative word," he pointed out with a subtle shrug. "Speed, stealth over strength. Erin would be more challenging." The young man was actually pretty sure Erin would be more than a match for the flying alien but then he might have been biased. "Give it a shot if you like, though." Trevor wasn't particularly competitive per se but if Ultiman society was anything like the Furion culture he'd been picking up from Redbird, refusing the friendly challenge outright might have come across as rude. Though he didn't particularly like his odds he had packed on a fair amount of raw power in the past few years and wasn't worried about embarrassing himself.
  20. Cobalt Templar is bound and helpless! He's still invisible, but since the net treats him like he's solid, it's pretty obvious there's someone in there with the Bauble. Argo the Ultimate Android Dazed, passes his turn. 50 - Smash - Unconscious 45 - Argo - Bruised x2 27 - Trap Door - Unconscious 26 - Sage - Uninjured, 4HP 24 - Citizen - Uninjured, 3HP 20 - Grab - Uninjured 17 - Ghost Girl - Uninjured, 4HP 9 - Wraith - Uninjured, 2HP 7 - Cobalt Templar - Uninjured, Bound/Helpless, 3HP 6 - Papercut - Uninjured, 5HP 6 - Get-Away - Uninjured
  21. "How should I know?!" Get-Away snapped back at her remaining teammate, ducking down again behind the crate between her and the worst of the fighting. "At least you got to keep your pan- hey!" The dark haired woman spotted the Bauble floating away from the melee, apparently under its own power. Kicking off from the dock, she found herself flying after it, quickly catching up as she unhooked the net hanging shroud-like from her gauntlets and the back of her bikini top. "I don't know what you are, but you're mine!" she promised, casting the mystically empowered net at the artifact and unknowingly the invisible ghost ferrying it to safety as well!
  22. Siren!Get-Away Move Action: Catch up with the 'floating' Bauble. Standard Action: Snare Bauble (and Cobalt Templar). (1d20+9=21) That net does have Affects Insubstantial on it, so that's a DC 19 Reflex Save for Corbin. Electra, Fox, hit me with some initiative rolls. Ghost Girl: Initiative. 23. The faintly twisting expression on the Dakanan's face as he abruptly went from outnumbering to outnumbered suggested a herculean effort to maintain his easy composure. To his credit, he allowed himself nothing more than a muttered, "Well. The tide seems to have turned." Making a quick snap kick just to keep Erik honest, he began backing away carefully in the direction of the Socotran woman, eyes darting about for some sign of Geckoman. "If you have any last aces to play, my friend, now would be the time I think," he called to her, his voice tight despite his casual words.
  24. HoS Pirate Standard Action: Attack Jack of all Blades; Defensive Attack 2. (1d20+6=18) Haha, nope. 25. The recession of the dampening spell was like having a burlap sack pulled from his head for Erik. A wave of returning sensation washed over him, the buzzing taste and white hot scent of crackling electricity all around him, the clacking sound of dice radiating from the distracted magic user, trickles of nauseous blacklight wafting down from Fulcrum's withdrawn position. Inhaling deeply through his nose, the metamagi grinned dangerously at his opponents before tossing his borrowed rapier over his shoulder to land quivering with its point in the lawn. "Flygirl, remind me to buy you an ice cream after we take out the trash," the fencer laughed cockily as he produced a simple metal lighter from his pocket and drew a line of flame in the air with a flick of his wrist. The fire solidified into a roiling blade and handguard wrapped around the fingers of his opposite hand. "Game on, rejects!" The Jack of Swords' assault was furious and devastating. Launching himself at the imposing zweihänder wielder, he smoothly transferred the momentum of the rush to an upward slash. The faint resistance he felt suggested the blond man was something appreciably more than simply human but the mystically bound fire sizzled through his defenses with ease. While the flame left the smell of burned chest hair rather than charred flesh in its wake, the line of wicked bruising made it clear that the damage inflicted was very real even if the hero was sparing his target the worst of the permanent trauma of which he was capable. The mustachioed fighter let out a roar of pain and attempted to bring his heavy blade around to parry the the follow-up strike but he was simply too slow. With a final grunt, he toppled backward toward Geckoman and the white leather clad woman. While she managed to maintain her grip on her scimitar, stepping aside to avoid the avalanche of her defeated comrade left her open for a decisive thrust that left a smouldering hole in her jacket just to one side of her collarbone and another on her shoulderblade. Finally dropping her weapon to grab at the surprisingly whole flesh between the entry and exit points, she stumbled down to one knee. "Rude...!" she accused in a strained voice before falling atop the growing pile of downed swordsmen.
