"Hnn. 'If'," Midnight scoffed over the comm channel, his inflectionless voice sounding almost offended to those who knew him well. He retrieved from the sealed pouches of the belt slipping about his spacesuit a number of timed charges, considerably more than he would have ever risked using all at once somewhere less wholly empty than space itself. Stacking their self-adhering sides against each other, he activated their timer and drew back his arm, silently counting down in his head as he carefully gauged the distance. Letting loose, he sent the deadly bundle speeding through the frictionless void directly at the aurora's center. A beat later, the silent explosion ripped though the alien entity's colourful being in an angry blossom that quickly imploded upon itself.

Wail recoiled a half-step reflexively at the sudden flames, surprised by the apparent scope of Rave's powers. Tough though he may have been, the aging hero knew from experienced that he burned almost as easily as anyone else. "I don't care to raise a hand against children, but my patience is finite, girl," he growled before using his free hand to smack the back of her head with an open palm. It was about as gentle as he could afford to be with scores of civilians in immediate danger, certainly more restrained than using his sonic shout but it was still more than enough to knock the teenager for a loop. Immediately the flames disappeared, revealed as some sort of illusion. "Hmph. Last chance, son," he called to Rant. "You really want to protect your sister, end this foolishness."

Will Save vs. DC 20. (1d20+10=16) Wail Free Action: Maintain Grapple Standard Action: Unarmed Attack; Power Attack 5. (1d20+3=10) Since Rave is bound, her Defense should be 5. That's a DC 33 Toughness Save. If that knocks here, out, he'll use his move action to head over the Rant, assuming the illusion ends.

Ghost Girl narrowed her eyes and jutted out her bottom lip in DeVores' direction with the sort of distaste for an individual only someone more naturally inclined to giving the benefit of the doubt and numerous second chances could really muster up. "I don't think I like you," she said slowly and deliberately and for a brief instant something in the eyes behind her domino mask was a little more obviously inhuman than usual. The manticore ceased batting about her face, yawned again and settled down in the crook of her arm, purring as its chitinous tail stretched out and came to rest behind her neck and across her shoulders like a scarf. "Hmph. Who would even sell you any kind of pet? Pretty sure they don't have weirdo mirror cages for basilisks in the Bay's winter catalogue."

The horrible sound coming from Rave washed over Wail like a watergun firing at a hydroelectric dam. The high school teacher wasn't sure if his patience was tried more by the young villainess ignoring his warning or the lackluster attempt at sonic combat. It was, after all, a field he had some experience in. Setting his jaw, the broad-shouldered hero crossed the distance between himself and Rave and unceremoniously lifted her off of the ground with a firm grip about the back of her neck. "What part of 'sit down' are you failing to wrap your brain around, child? Do not make me raise my voice with you!"

Kimber was uncharacteristically stunned into silence as the manticore padded about in a circle on her lap, wobbling slightly as it got a sense of its surroundings. Hesitatingly, she reached out and scratched the kitten behind its ears. With a pleased yowl the little creature leaned into her fingers, closing its eyes and opening its mouth to yawn, revealing three rows of developing teeth. Grinning with a small laugh that stuck in her throat, Ghost Girl scooped the kitten up in one arm so she could stand up in the air while she rubbed the opposite forearm across her eyes, sniffing quietly before floating out into the rest of the apartment after Nick. The attitude of the apartment's owner made her pull a face, however. "Hey! It's not the basilisk's fault!" she interjected, glaring at the annoyed woman and not overly concerned what she might make of a translucent teenager hovering a foot off of the floor. "Maybe if you didn't have it locked up in some stupid mirror th-" The poltergeist was cut off as the manticore cradled in her arm chose that moment to bat its paw into the face.

Midnight watched warily as Martinet's regenerative capabilities visibly went to work mending the injuries caused by his attack. Within seconds there was no evidence that he had ever laid a hand on her but he knew he'd slowed her down if only momentarily, forcing her on the defensive for all her mocking bravado. The momentum of the fight had shifted ever so slightly to his advantage. "Tampering? Percussive maintenance." In a blur of movement the black clad detective was upon the monstrous general once again, dropping low and sweeping he legs out from under her before she even had time to register his attack. Continuing the arcing motion into an upward corkscrew, he followed up with a snap kick that caught the falling Madrigal squarely in the stomach, supersaturated muscle tissue driving into ribs with piston force. The opposite leg kicked downward, propelling Midnight forward along the same trajectory as his target where he placed all of his momentum and strength into a single punch that struck her in her startled face, arresting her horizontal fall and knocking her straight into the ground hard enough to send out ripples of displaced dirt. Landing in a loose, ready stance and breathing heavily, Midnight waited a beat, then another until it became clear that Martinet wasn't going to be getting back up. Straightening, he reached up to adjust his fedora. "Broadcast that." Turning the attention back to the rest of the chaos and the gargantuan abomination looming overhead, he rejoined the telepathic link between the young heroes. --Done. Let's finish mopping up.--

"Ohmygoodness!" Kimber all but squealed in delight as the diminutive creature scampered over to her on unsteady paws. Kneeling down with her hands on her knees, the phantom floated a mere inch off of the floor. "What a cutie! Hi! Hello there!" As she beamed down at the cub, it reared back clumsily, lifting its front paws into the air and placing them atop Ghost Girl's insubstantial knees. To her surprise, the manticore kitten's tiny claws found purchase on the faux material of her ectoplasmic pants, allowing it to scramble up onto her lap. Sitting there, it tilted its head to one side, peering up with an expectant expression.

"Nick!" Ghost Girl objected reflexively passing easily through the layered mirrors to float between the necromancer and the hatching egg. "It's only a baby whatever-it-is! Don't scare it!" Evidently oblivious to the irony of that statement coming from a poltergeist, she turned around and leaned forward in the air, hovering almost horizontally to get a close look at the protruding tail and cracking eggshell. "Besides, what's the little guy going to do to me, right? C'mon, you're almost out, you can do it!" she addressed the wicked looking tail encouragingly.

Granite certainly didn't look like he was going anywhere any time soon, his frozen form failing to react to anything going on around him. Chances were he wasn't going to be happy about the treatment of his teammates when he finally thawed out but with any luck that wouldn't be until after he'd been safely contained by the authorities. Hesitating for a moment, Ghost Girl did as Papercut instructed, pulling out the paper airplane she found in her hoodie's pocket and blowing it out her palm. It grew to massive size as it soared in a lazy arc around the damaged museum just as she's seen it do many times before under its creator's guidance, but again the paper darkened to a brittle looking black, the back edges of the plane looking tattered and scorched. The unsettling appearance didn't seem to affect its flight however, and as Kimber waved it back toward her like an overenthusiastic bowler it returned, allowing her to jump on. Gripping the forward creases of the paper, the inexperienced pilot was rocketed out through the hole in the ceiling with a yelp, swerving about as she gradually regained control of the plane's movements. Before too long she'd managed to pull up beside Citizen's blue, fiery form. "Hi!" she called over the sound of the wind, letting go with one hand long enough to wave cheerfully. "This seems a lot higher up when you can actually fall!"

With his opponent still reeling, Midnight tossed one escrima stick into the air, letting it flip end over end before catching it in a reversed grip. Leaping forward, he brought the weapon crashing down into the cracked portion of the orange armor driving it deep into the energy construct and sending cracks radiating outward from the impact like a broken windshield. The other stick of the matched pair swiftly followed is a sweeping blow that sent the thug's head twisting from one side to the other with enough force to seriously injure a less armored target. The black clad vigilante had taken the full measure of his foe, however, and gauged the ferocity of his attacks precisely. The repulsive aggressor went down in a heap.

Wail followed Ironclad down once he could see the lights of her armour move away from the spot directly under the hatch, simply falling downward and landing with a reverberating thump and sizable splash of displaced sewage. He didn't have the best history with ladders and metal rungs supporting his super-dense mass, and preferred to hit the bottom on his own terms. In front of the metal door further down the tunnel, the veteran hero punched one fist into the opposite palm with a meaty sound. "These jokers are working my last nerve. Besides, loud I like."

"Now, I know it's not technically a school night," a booming voice began, cutting through the vocal powers of the villainous siblings in a way a normal person couldn't have accomplished without a megaphone, "but I'm sure you kids have better things to be doing than this." Striding onto the scene with thunderous footfalls, clad in khaki pants and a sky blue dress shirt, LaMarr wouldn't have been a very imposing figure if that shirt hadn't needed custom tailoring to accommodate his massive physique. "Now sit your fool asses DOWN!" With a word, Wail sent a shockwave crashing through the scene, knocking party goers and costume wearing metahumans alike clear off of their feet and making sure he had everyone's full attention.

"Smooth," LaMarr drawled to Grayson in his rumbling bass tone before shaking his head at the deactivated doppelganger. "It there is one thing I cannot stand, it's robot doubles. I remember one time an entire shipping container of Typhoondroids broke out and went rogue right here in the city. All thinking they were the real deal, all talking in the third damn person..." The aging hero scowled and had to resist the urge to continue grumbling about that particular misadventure, even if he had ultimately gotten paid. "Anyway. Grayson's right, Donna was flesh and blood. Had a daughter before those jackals shot her man down and they disappeared."

Trevor's lips parted the speak but he was silent for a beat as he looked over as an EMT with a surprisingly square and dimpled chin attempted to shoo away the young, muscular officer who's jacket Meaghan was wearing as he attempted to take a statement from the recovering socialite. The Hunter heir let of a quiet breath and adjusted his beaten fedora with one hand while he placed the other over Erin's on his arm. "Yeah. I'm okay." Turning away, he led the way at a sauntering pace. The corner of his mouth turned up slightly as he added, "Heh. You really clocked her one."

Wail Move Action: Arrive on the scene! Standard Action: Fearsome Roar. That's a DC 23 Will Save and the worst of Dexterity or Strength against an Opposed Trip Check. (1d20+13=32) after the DC 23 Reflex Save for the Area effect. Unfortunately, it is not Selective, but at least it doesn't cause any collateral damage!

Ghost Girl was a little too impatient to wait for the elevator to make its way upward, flickering out of sight and passing invisibly up through the ceilings and floors of the building. She was, at least, careful enough to wait for Nick exit and follow the more experienced hero's lead, continuing into the room before reappearing as if suddenly moving into the others' peripheral vision despite being right in front of them. She let out a whistle as she floated about the apartment. "Wow, this is all pretty swank--yee!" She cut the thought short as she came face to face with the petrified woman, flinching in surprise and backing away slowly. "Sh-she is going to turn back, right?" she asked Nick nervously, heading over to the doorway Wraith had uncovered with a quick glance over her shoulder at the statue.
