  1. Fire!Fathom Toughness Save vs. DC 30. (1d20+10=12) Yow! Knockback on that is 15-5=10, sending him sailing 1000'! Unfortunately, since he's unconscious and can't stop himself, he keeps on going, dropping right into the water... Quantum Bauble in hand. 34 - Sage - Brusied x1, 6HP 24 - Cobalt Templar - Uninjured, 3HP 22 - Sylph - Staggered, Dazed, -3 Strength 20 - Citizen - Bruised x1, 3HP 13 - Wraith - Uninjured, 3HP 11 - Papercut - Uninjured, 6HP 11 - Granite - Uninjured, Bound/Helpless 10 - Pyre - Staggered 7 - Ghost Girl - Uninjured, 4HP 4 - Professor Fathom - Unconscious
  2. "Eeurgh!" Sylph raised a rocky arm to shield her face, catching the bulk of the wintery blast aimed at her. Shaking away the ice crystals that had formed in the spaces between stoney outcroppings, she glared at the heroes. "You little monsters! William, be a dear and drown them, won't you?" When there was no immediate response she turned irritably to her teammate. "I said-- oh." Granite's temporarily watery form had been frozen completely solid by the buckshot blizzard, rendered into an ice sculpture with a particularly surprised look on its face. "Blast." Turning abruptly with surprising speed considering her new size, she threw a massive fist in Sage's direction, but the white-haired Frenchwoman was ready for it, neatly side stepping the attack. "...I should clarify I didn't mean 'monster' as a bad thing, darlings," Sylph attempted with a weak smile on her craggily maw.

  4. Rock!Sylph Move Action: Feint vs. Sage. (1d20+9=27) Standard Action: Attack Sage. (1d20+7=22) Hit me with some saves, Sorus. If that ends up hitting, it's a DC 28 Toughness Save.
  5. Ghost Girl Standard Action: Emotion Control [Despair] vs. Basilisk. The basilisk needs to be looking at her for this to work, which feels suitably ironic. It's a DC 22 Will Save, after the DC 22 Reflex Save, of course.
  6. Trevor gave Erin a small grin, the expression only just readable behind his black mask and the faceplate of his spacesuit. The young man took a moment to inwardly chastise himself for putting off the trip to space the couple had been planning for a while, but in his own defense they had been kept a little busy for that magnitude of vacation. Regardless, they were there now, about to do battle with an alien entity for the fate of the world. Head in the game, then. Triple-checking all of his equipment, he prepared himself.

  9. "'Leech' was always fairly accurate," Trevor muttered under his breath, resisting the urge rub the bridge of his nose vigorously. Besides what she'd become and the emotional pain she'd inflicted on her fellow students, Gibbons was responsible for some extremely graphic images that were going to be burned into the young detective's naturally retentive memory for the rest of his days. Instead he gave the royal couple a faint shrug, saying, "See what we mean about fitting in here." A half-serpent, hydrokinetic infant prince-in-exile was hardly going to warrant a raised eyebrow by Freedom City standards. Walking back to the unconscious assassin, Trevor grabbed him by the collar and dragged him to the front of the hall and outside where the authorities were arriving and beginning to take statements. "Tried to murder the bride," he informed the ranking officer as he handed over the attacker with the first of the reporters on the scene listening in, "but Prince Morakot subdued him. Bravest thing I ever saw." It said something else about Freedom City standards that the story was accepted without question.
  10. "Cannon fodder. Insulted," Midnight's voice came from within the cloud of mist, seeming to move about infuriatingly as the Madrigal attempted to discern his location. "When do real Hounds arrive?" Before she could respond, a flash of ruby and silver shot out from the darkness as a whip of daka crystals woven into fibers snapped around the imitative railgun in her hand then ripped it free and back into the inky depths in a lightning fast move that would have made Razorwhip jealous. The concealed detective tossed the gun aside, sending it skidding along the ground toward Wander on the opposite side of the cloud. Retracting the whip into its handle and stowing it away, Midnight sent terse instructions over the mental network Sage was maintaining between the heroes. --Occupying Martinet. Mop up lackeys first.-- Aloud he called out, "So many rules for someone so feared." Striding forward nonchalantly, he appeared from out of the mist with a hand on his belt's central clasp, a warrior stepping out of legend. With a twist, he released the failsafe stored there. Like animated ink, black poured from the belt, covering his dress shirt and pants and weaving itself into his featureless mask as morphic molecules chemically bonded to impervium solidified into form fitting armor with a faint crackle of electricity. The charge supplied by the belt's internal power reserves would hold the molecules in their durable form, integrated filters designed to mitigate the harshest of environments. He could only sustain it as long as those reserves held out, but he intended to be finished long before then. "Here's my rule. You. Me." Midnight's stance left little room for misunderstanding despite his laconic phrasing. "Wander, beat back any interference," he requested, telepathically adding, --Present by your left foot.-- He made a point of sizing the disarmed Madrigal up unhurriedly, buying him time to continue. --Viewers are expecting colour commentary. Mark, do your thing. She shot my bike. Let's take her pride.-- Cracking his knuckles, he dropped into a combat ready stance. "Took cosmically powered lightning rods shot through the heart to finish your master. For you, bare hands."
  11. Midnight II Hero Point: Cancel Fatigue from last round. Free Action: Arrange Gadgets: Move Object 20 (Flaws: Limited [Direction]) [20PP] (daka crystal weave whip)Standard Action: Ranged Disarm vs. Madrigal. (1d20+10=28) Opposed Strength Check. (1d20+45=57)Free Action: Arrange Gadgets: Impervious 12 (Power Feat: Quick Change) [13PP] (current-activated morphic molecule/impervium mesh) Immunity 10 (Dazzle Effects, Environmental Conditions, Flaws: Limited [Half]) [5PP] (in-mask and suit filters) Immunity 2 (Suffocation) [2PP] (air supply) Move Action: Step out of the midnight mist toward Madrigal. I'm pushing the limits of Gadgets a bit here, so let me know if any of that crosses a line for you, AA. To expand on the descriptors, the whip is using the phlebotinum properties of daka crystals (thank you, King M'Balla) to exert tremendous pull on Madrigal's railgun. She should actually be flat-footed against that attack, too, if that helps at all. The second arrangement is a failsafe option stored in the belt in case Midnight suddenly finds himself in a hostile environment; a store of morphic molecules bonded to impervium molecules that form an instant suit of armor... for as long as the belt's power stores can sustain it. If it runs out of juice, it falls apart again. EDIT: The rules are a little shaky on whether or not you can arrange a Variable Power more than once in a round when it's a bought down to a free action, so I'll spend an HP and call it a Surge just to make sure we're playing it straight.
  12. Initiative. (1d20+2=8) Whelp.
  13. Trevor hoisted the unconscious Serpent's form up before dumping it in a sitting position on a nearby chair where he would be easier to keep an eye on. Ideally he would have linked to have bound the would-be assassin more securely, but he wasn't prepared to explain why a socialite might have a pocketful of industrial strength zip ties at a gala event. Thankfully, given the jolt he'd received, it was unlikely the villain would awake any time soon. Mark's surprised reaction turned his attention to where his friend had opened the nearby doors. Stepping over to get a better look, he placed one hand wearily across his face. "Dammit, Gibbons."
  14. "You know, when I talk like that, it's a charming cultural artifact," a commanding voice boomed cutting through the panic in the gymnasium. LaMarr tossed aside a sizable piece of the ceiling he'd caught, preventing it from falling on a pair of students and their projects, then brushed smaller debris from his broad shoulder as he stepped forward unhurriedly. "But on a girl your age it's a fool affectation." The set of the teacher's jaw made it clear just how inclined he was to show understanding to anyone who so carelessly put his students in danger but he kept his anger in check with practiced resolve. The costume he recognized as belonging to Black Flame, half of a heroine duo from back in his day. He and Javed had actually double dated with them once, back when he was still in the closet. It had honestly been a bit of a flop; unsurprising in retrospect. Donna Danson had gone on to marry a reporter she'd been sweet on, if he recalled correctly. A stand up sort, which sadly had been what got him killed in a mob hit shortly after the birth of their daughter. Both Donna and her daughter Doris had fallen off the grapevine by the time anyone tried tracking them down, but not before a suspicious and deadly fire had taken out a measure of vengeance. "You'd best have a good explanation for acting like some joker in Danson's old duds, child, or you better believe I will blow out your candle."
  15. Sense Motive check. (1d20+10=19) Knowledge [History] check. (1d20+15=26) LaMarr doesn't have any ranks in Knowledge [Technology] nor the benefits of Jack-of-All-Trades or Eidetic Memory.
  16. Roo, if this was the 'good' version I created for the sheet, yes. But Razorwhip's whip is bound to have a less wholesome requirement on it, so no.
  17. Just to be clear, Discordia's party cannon has Restricted 2 (only the owner can use it) and Razorwire's whip has Restricted 3 (only the owner can use it and only someone 'worthy' can lift it at all).
  18. I'm going to hate myself for saying anything, but Madrigal's Regeneration lets her eat a bruise per round.
  19. "Won't stay secret, regardless," Trevor noted in his toneless, impartial manner, stating fact without attempting to sway the couple one way or the other as he turned the bulk of his attention toward scanning the space for any additional threats. "Serpent People found out. Typhoon will as well." The ruler's methods of intelligence gathering were well funded and he'd have ample motivation to look into the history and dirty secrets of his son's mysterious new bride. "Assassination attempt; motivated by taboo?" he asked al-Arima, seeking clarification. If anything it seemed advantageous to the Serpents to breed into such a powerful family but their reaction was clearly following a different philosophy.
  20. "Ohmigoodness, it turns people into statues? But then-- oh. Oh, so we're not people. Well, that's just discriminatory, is what that is," Ghost Girl opined huffily as she caught up to speed with the creature's ability and its relative ineffectiveness against either herself or her roommate. As Wraith kept the beast distracted, the phantom's eyes lit up in understanding, recognizing the opening the alien huntress was creating for her. Rolling up one sleeve of her cloak purposefully, she dove down through the air and plunged her arm into the back of the basilisk's head, rummaging around as her undead presence drained the strength right out of the creature's muscles with a terrible chilling sensation. "That oughta take some of the fight out of him!"
  21. Ghost Girl Standard Action:Drain Strength vs. Basilisk; Power Attack 5, Aid +2. (1d20+9=11) Ffft. Well, hopefully some Complications'll come up later in the thread. Drain Strength vs. Basilisk; Power Attack 5, Aid +2, HP reroll. (1d20+9=27) That'll be DC 27.
  22. Only just visible in the sky through the crumbling hole in the museum's roof, Fathom raged against the psionic tentacles binding him in place. "Child," he snarled at Citizen, red flames flaring angrily next to blue, "I don't know what's happened to any of us, but rest assured, when I unlock this power, the first thing I will do with it is feed you your own cretinous fist!" His form glowed brighter and brighter as he struggled until he all but exploded in a wave of heat. With Wraith occupied by Granite's attack down below, the telekinetic constructs evaporated, allowing Fathom to blaze further away from the scene of the crime. "Ha! These powers always were wasted on Connors."
  23. "Maybe you should back off instead!" the not-so-ghostly Ghost Girl shouted back at Granite as he attacked Wraith, momentarily wishing she'd gotten some measure of Koshiro's ability to talk smack along with his powers. Oh, right! Powers! Um, okay..." Reaching back into her pockets to retrieve another handful of paper cranes, she lifted them towards the liquid attacker. "Get him! ...er. Go? Fly! Paper powers activate?" The folded birds lay lifeless in her palm. "Jams, how do these work?" Stamping one foot in frustration, she called out to the ethereal cowboy fighting the villains up close. "Cee Tee! You can freeze him! You just have to... It's like, imagine you're in a cabin with a blizzard outside and you're opening the door and letting all the wind and ice and snow in! Only you're letting it out and the door is your face!" She gave Cobalt Templar an encouraging thumbs up with her free hand.
  24. Granite, in his current watery form, glanced over his shoulder when he spotted Fathom's predicament in the sky overhead only to see Sylph under attack as well. With an angry grunt, he surged himself back into the museum through the newly opened hole in the wall, placing himself between the now rocky villainess and the teenage heroes. "Hey, back off, right? S'like the prof'd say: you're all wet!" The elemental's outstretched arms became cannons of surging water that crashed into Wraith. Despite her suddenly frailer physiology, the alien-turned-human weathered the torrent, her warrior's training serving her just as well as it always had. Floating raggedly through the air outside, Pyre noted the situation of his teammates as well... and took to opportunity to continue making good his escape. He was still shaken up by Sage's earlier beating, new form or no, and the powers he'd borrowed from Sylph had proven ineffective against at least a few of the do-gooders. "Tch, they'll be fine..." he muttered, looking for a convenient cloud to hide within.
  25. Fire!Fathom Move Action: Run Away! Sharl's still much faster and can catch up assuming he can get his Flight working again, but this puts him out of Perception range from those still in the museum. Sage is up!
