  1. 19 - Asad - Staggered, 2HP 16 - Pyre - Uninjured, 2HP 9 - Giant Krampus - Bruised x1, Dazed 4 - Wail - Uninjured, 3HP Alright, in that case, Asad is up! He's still Staggered, but you're free to use Extra Effort to Surge as needed.
  2. A disconcertingly echoing peal of laughter announced the reappearance of Kimber, who'd hung back from the rest of the group as they'd entered the Sanctum to enjoy the weather. Slipping back through the walls to rejoin the group, the chipper phantom had at some point manifested a robin's egg blue parasol to go with her sundress and was twirling it about as she flew in gentle circles overhead. "This place is the raddest imaginable! Oh my goodness, and there's cool stuff inside too!" she proclaimed, parasol disappearing with a brief unfocusing as if it had abruptly moved to the corner of the eyes of anyone watching it so that she could clap her hands in delight. She flitted about the space like a humming bird, observing over the shoulders of her friends whatever each of them had naturally gravitated to among the many sights.
  3. "Jiminy Cricket!" Wail placed himself between the children at his feet and the shards of glass falling from above, the minor shards bouncing harmlessly off of his super-dense muscle tissue. He spared a glace toward Al-Misri, who looked awake and recovering even if the wind had been knocked out of him. LaMarr suspected his own superhuman durability wouldn't fair any better against a creature of such massive size, which put them at a disadvantage: none of the three Santa-suited heroes were used to being the 'little guy' in a fight. "Keep moving!" he bellowed to Ross, the sound carrying easily to the demonic looking cartoonist despite the distance and din of battle. Turning back to the civilians, he made a lowering gesture with one hand. "Everybody on the floor! Hands over your heads, cover your ears!" He waited until they'd done so, the event's organizers and volunteers helping the frightened children, the looked back up at the beast. "It's about to get loud." Taking a deep breath that filled superhuman lungs, Wail let loose a sledgehammer of sound the rocketed upward with such force it visibly warped the air in a column from his mouth to his target. The remaining glass in the ceiling vibrated then shattered, raining down from above while decorations toppled from the perches. The blast of sound crashed into Giant Krampus' horned face, sending it back a half-step as it shook it's head, momentarily disoriented and roaring in anger.
  4. Despite the reckless abandon with which the heroes through themselves against the hundred foot monstrosity, Giant Krampus seemed to barely notice their assault, evidently more bothered by Asad's shouts than Pyre's pummeling blows. The flying hero found himself on the receiving end of an attack of Shakespearian proportions as a veritable forest of uprooted birch trees came crashing down atop him as the beast swatted him away. The force of the impact was even more than wealthy hero's powers could absorb, sending him crashing down through another of the atrium's glass windows and into the floor below, trailing down feathers as the pillow he'd put under his Santa suit burst open.
  5. Woof. Alright, Asad is staggered and dazed, but I'm going to refund that HP since this early in the fight that's a significant setback (and rolling an 11 is haaaaarsh). As an aside, with the amount of Growth he's packing, it's worth noting that Giant Krampus' Defense and Attack are both pretty low. Do with that information what you will! Wail Standard Action: Sonic Wail. (1d20+8=22) Giant Krampus Toughness Save vs. DC 33. (1d20+23=27) 19 - Asad - Staggered, Dazed, 3HP 16 - Pyre - Uninjured, 2HP 9 - Giant Krampus - Bruised x1, Dazed 4 - Wail - Uninjured, 3HP TA, do you want to spend an HP to clear the daze, or wait out the turn?
  6. "Yes," Erik confirmed, crossing his jacketed arms over the plain white shirt exposed beneath the coat. "Also: shut up." As usual, the fencer was coming across a little more confidently than he actually felt; Chris' concerns weren't exactly unfounded and the whole undertaking was a pretty extreme financial gamble considering the straits in which the Espadas family and to a lesser extent the Interceptors as a whole found themselves. Still, he had a good feeling about it, a better one than he'd had about their situation since the destruction of their previous brownstone home. As the two young men regarded the building, they were joined by a coltish brunette with an obvious family resemblance to the elder of the pair. Crimson scarf peeking out from the collar of her black peacoat, Ellie Espadas tilted her head to follow the boys' gaze to the storefront as she walked up. "...really?" "You're both terrible and I hate you," Erik groused with a flat expression, his head falling between his shoulder blades in annoyance.
  7. Giant Krampus Toughness Save vs. DC 30. (1d20+23=38) Attack Asad. (1d20+4=23) That's a 38 Toughness Save. Fun Fact: Giant Krampus is roughly 100' tall! Get me that save and I'll post for Wail, as well.
  8. (20:04:48) Ecalsneerg will laugh so hard if Gizmo ever gets broody (20:05:19) Gizmo: Because you feast on the misery of others or for a specific reason? (20:05:36) Ecalsneerg: I do not feast (20:05:36) Gizmo: Or do you mean if I get 'with brood'? (20:05:51) Raveled: Get ya brood on. (20:06:06) AvengerAssembled: I'd be concerned, then, Gizmo, as I like you as you are, not the slave to an insect hive mind. (20:06:07) Ecalsneerg: With brood, desiring brood, take yer pick (20:06:24) Gizmo: Because that would require an entirely hypothetical human female. (20:07:16) Raveled: Not necessarily. They're doing amazing things with human cloning these days. You'd just need a big incubator. (20:07:46) Ecalsneerg: And a shotgun. (20:07:48) Gizmo: Not that big, Rav. I have... ...skinny genes. (20:07:53) Gizmo: YEEEAAAH (20:07:56) Ecalsneerg: ... (20:07:56) Raveled:
  9. That easily hits. Giant Krampus has a +23 Toughness save, however, and so automatically passes that. 19 - Asad - Uninjured, 3HP 16 - Pyre - Uninjured, 2HP 9 - Giant Krampus - Uninjured 4 - Wail - Uninjured, 3HP
  10. Though perhaps not overly thrilled with their means of transportation, Midnight's featureless mask and stoney demeanor remained unreadable as he leafed through the files provided by AEGIS. He took anything from the government agency with a substantial grain of salt; Jack Simmons was very much a person non grata around the Hunter household and about the only reason Trevor agreed to look into the case at all was to imagine the look of the so-called Patriot's face when they did what his hand picked men couldn't. Still, the lab reports seemed reliable enough. "Extended exposure fatal with a week." Turning a page to review a number of disturbing photos, he continued, "Madness. Withering. Organ failure."
  11. "Hot foot, coming through!" a raucous voice shouted from overhead as a figure in royal blue burst from the third storey window of the burning building, head ducked into the high collar of his greatcoat and arms wrapped around the young woman he'd just rescued from the inferno. Jack of all Blades tucked himself around his charge and into a somersault, landing acrobatically on the street far below with as much grace as the distance and a lung full of smokey air would allow. Nearby, a similarly attired figure in crimson allowed the glimmering blue tunnel of bioelectric energy that had been holding the path outside open to drop, the gutted apartment collapsing with a staggering crunch. "Cut that a little close, don't you think?" Jill O'Cure drawled to her brother, resting both hands on her knees as she took several long breaths. Straightening to his feet, lifting his charge into the air with him, the elder sibling grinned through a hacking cough and stepped over to Jill. "Ha, you'd think I had a flair for the dramatic or something," he replied irreverently before tilting his head down to inspect the sooty civilian. "You better take a look at her, she was already unconscious when I found h-" The swashbuckler's explanation was cut off as the young woman's eyes abruptly opened and she exhaled, releasing a cloud of pale yellow dust directly into the faces of her would-be rescuers. "Aw, nertz..." Jack noted, sounding rather put out before collapsing face first into the pavement, the obvious uninjured woman gymnastically rolling out of his grip to stand on her own feet. Coughing violently, Jill staggered back a few steps but remained upright while her hand was surrounded by dappled light. "Guh. Oh, you did not just- gghtz!" Even as her metamagi healing abilities negated the poison's potency, their attacked used the distraction to slam a concealed shock baton into the medic's exposed stomach. The younger sister fell unconscious atop her brother with a groan. Taking a moment to recover herself, the faux-victim regarded the heroes with a mixed look, rubbing sweat and soot from her face with the back of one hand. Withdrawing a pair of dish-sized disks from wherever she'd been hiding her weapon, she affixed them to the sibling's backs one after another. She had just enough time to cover her eyes to shield them from the bright flash that followed, leaving her standing alone in the light of the fire.
  12. Okay, Auto-20 Gather Information turn up anything? Any relevant Knowledge checks to be made?
  13. LaMarr had been reflecting that perhaps his days of being able to sneak about unnoticed were over when the faint tapping of metal boots on concrete caught his attention. The gleaming green and gold of the figure he found behind him didn't look particularly associated with the uniforms of the mercenaries he'd handled earlier that evening, but it was question that assured him she wasn't involved with his quarry. Not only would the soldiers for hire have already know who he was, they would have opened with cannons blazing, not dialogue. "Wail," he confirmed in a bass rumble, folding his arms across his broad chest and planting his feet. "Can't say I'm up on all the new tights and brights these days. You'd be?"

  17. "Oh, definitely!" Kimber agreed readily with Koshiro's advice, either ignoring or unbothered by his uncensored language. "You want a dog big enough to like, wrestle with and put your arms around, that you can take out to the park and the woods with you and... and..." The phantom's eyes unfocused for a moment and she blinked, trying to recall just what she'd been about to say. It couldn't have been that important, she decided quickly. She did tend to ramble a bit, or so she'd been told. "Um. But yeah! I guess if you don't think you'll have enough room, you should be smart about it? It's going to be your dog, Sharl, you should pick the type you like best!" She gave the young man holding the laptop a sunny, reassuring smile.
  18. The building wasn't much to look at, if one was being brutally honest. Like a lot of structures in the West End, it was two storeys tall, designed to be a place for business on the ground level with small living apartments on the second floor. The space for a sign was empty and evidently had been for a while if the weathering was any indication, not to mention the birds' nest tucked in between the top of the large placard and the window sill above it. The large windows were filthy enough to make them nearly opaque and the hinges on the door were probably going to need to be replaced altogether. Despite all that, the young, dusty brown haired man in the wool-lined coat standing on the sidewalk in front of it, keys spinning around his finger jauntily, grinned broadly enough to show pearly teeth as he regarded the building. "Perfect."

  20. "Well, of course not," Ellie replied immediately, her tone abruptly changing to a deep, throaty purr, the effect of which was somewhat spoiled by the continuing grin pulling at either side of her mouth. Even so, the unexpected shift in demeanor as she leaned slightly forward toward the slightly shorter girl retained some impact. "You're already perfect without any make-up, muñequita." Before Mara had any chance to respond, however, one of the brightly painted store fronts across the pavilion from them suddenly burst into a cloud of rubble and dust with a thunderous noise as a sword-wielding figure crashed through from the opposite side of the ring of buildings. Clad in a bright red tunic over chainmail and leather armor, the man was built like a professional linebacker who wasn't concerned about anyone suspecting him of steroid use, his expression wide-eyed and practically frothing at the mouth with madness. The impressive longsword in his clenched fist featured an ornate pommel and crossguard that matched the style of the cross embroidered into his cloak. The blade also appeared to be giving off an unmistakable ruby glow that was mirrored in the knight's eyes. <"Back heathens!"> he shouted in Castilian, whirling about to face tourists and locals alike. <"Back! The Cathedral of Our Lady of Grace shall not come to harm so long as the Sword of Saint James stands strong!"> With a snarl he advanced towards a shocked trio of gaudily clad sightseers, drawing a fearful cry. Her pose frozen, Ellie's expression had fallen to one of flat resignation. "...seriously?" she asked reproachfully to no one in particular.
  21. Kimber's attention moved immediately to Sharl at the sound of her name, blinking with curiosity. Her ice blue eyes lit up with delight as the holographic teen explained his dilemma and she shot through the air to join Indira next to the laptop screen. "Oh. My. Goodness!" she cried, pitch smoothly ascending to a pitch one might have suspected as being the trailing edge of a ghostly shriek. "Cutie! Hi there! Hello!" The ethereal teen remained suitably impressed by the computer technology of the present; the fluffy white canine on the screen certainly looked real enough to jump right out of the screen and considering who was holding the laptop that wasn't out of the question.
  22. KImber cringed back from the dissolving monster, unconsciously floating a little higher and further away from the floor as it seeped away. As Indira's head reappeared an addressed her, however, all other concerns disappeared immediately. The phantom knew how important the hunt was to her roommate, as both a cultural matter and a point of personal pride, and being asked along especially after her earlier, embarrassing loss of control meant the world to her. Had the late Canadian still had a beating heart, it would have soared as she brought her levitating heels together and saluted smartly, grinning as she did. "Right behind you!" The instant she was finished speaking, Ghost Girl faded entirely from view, undetectable even by Wraith's formidable senses as she slid effortlessly through obstacles, an unseen but watchful presence next to her friend.
  23. With a single rank of Flight, Ghost can match Wraith's speed through the vent while going invisible. For ease of reference, that looks like this: Base: Concealment 8 (all visual, auditory and olfactory, Extra: Linked, Power Feats: Close Range, Selective, Drawback: Power Loss [Detect Ghosts/Undead, Necromantic Awareness]) [17PP] (invisibility) + Concealment 2 (all mental, Extra: Linked, Flaw: Displacement) [2PP] (mental echo) + Obscure 4 (radio, 50' radius, Extras: Action [Free, +2], Linked, Flaws: Partial, Range [Touch], Power Feats: Reverse Progression 1 [Area, min 25']) [3PP] (radio static) That's straight up Concealment against the normal senses (including being Insubstantial, natch) with Displacement against mental senses (mental echo) and a localized Partial Obscure against any radio senses (static), if it comes up.
  24. "Wrong? Oh, no! I'm just so excited!" Kimber responded cheerfully to Corbin's inquiry, floating over the broad-shouldered young man's seat, her sundress shifting about her feet as if ruffled by a wind no one else in the plane could feel. "I mean, aren't you? It's all just so... exciting!" The poltergeist compensated for her lack of words by waving her hands emphatically and grinning in a way that scrunched up the beryl freckles across her nose. "We're going to see the Sanctum and find out more about where Sharl's from and see all the cool old super stuff and I heard there's robots and we're in the Arctic and--" Moving about again as listed reasons for her exuberance, Kimber was cut off momentarily as she pushed her head through the cabin wall immediately next to Koshiro, though her gesturing hands were still visible to those inside. Pulling herself back in, she bobbed up and down in place dangerously deep into the sullen artist's personal space. "Oh, sorry, I said 'and it's so beautiful out there!'"

Okay, so, with Erik Espadas AKA Jack of all Blades opening up a self-defense school in the West End, I was assaulted by visions of him acting as a Pokémon gym leader.
