"Hah, of course. Should have thought," Trevor nodded with a smile equally faint as his previous frown had been. The wealthy heir was reasonably well traveled for all he preferred to stay in Freedom City, but it truth it was his decidedly practical nature more than a lack of novelty that caused him to forget the stop and smell the proverbial roses. It was nice to have someone there to remind him. "Thanks," he said softly without further explanation as they reached the desk and he addressed the receptionist in the local tongue. "" The brunette's cascading hair bounced across her high cheekbones as she turned to consult her computer. The sidelong glance she gave the young man before her clearly indicated her surprise as she surmised the relationship between the guest and the person receiving him, but she was polite enough not to say anything aloud as she indicated the elevator to their left.

Grunting faintly in agreement, Trevor rolled his shoulders slightly under his jacket before setting them squarely. "Right." As the stern young man stepped forward to the doors the crowd parted subtly to make way, even distracted as they were by their pressing business. They probably wouldn't have recalled doing so if asked later, but there was a presence about him that instinctively conveyed that he was not one to bump into. "Don't take him personally," he warned Erin as they approached the reception desk at the end of an impressively long lobby. "Not the... warmest. Even for a Hunter."

Trevor Hunter stood outside the towering Parisian office building looking upward with a faint frown. The reserved young man's face was too schooled to give away whether it was apprehension, frustration or general glum despondency tugging at the corners of his mouth, but at least to the young woman accompanying him, it was clear that he was not looking forward to visitation to come. Dressed immaculately in a deceptively simple but obviously well tailored suit, the dark haired engineer certainly blended in with the bustling stock brokers and deal makers hurrying in and out of the glass doors before them, chattering loudly away on cell phones in a dozen languages, primarily French, naturally. "So," he began, turning toward Erin with a fairly transparent stalling tactic.

LaMarr let out a heavy sigh, though admittedly his bass range didn't really allow for any other kind. "Alright, Des. I'll speak with your folks, but I'm not about to convince them to let you risk your neck like a fool, either," the broad-shouldered educator clarified sternly. "Don't care how meta-smart you got yourself, bringing a home-made gun to work with you? I know you know better than that." In Wail's experience one of the commonalities of superhuman geniuses was a tendency to get carried away with their work and forget to apply more common sense. That Desmaris was one of his students made it all the more important that he be more careful.

"Aw, nertz," Jack groaned, evading the continued attack of the plant creature he was fighting to see the bewitched Geckoman attack his sister. "This could be going better." Extricating himself from his current opponent, he acrobatically made his way over to the lime green clad teenager. "Sorry, Goggles, but I'm sure you'll give me a hard time about double standards when this is all over," he noted before delivering a solid left hook to his unfortunate teammate's midsection, not wanting to risk using his electrical blade. With any luck, he might be able to keep Geckoman busy long enough for him to fight his way free of the pollen's control. Then again, luck hadn't exactly been on their side that day. The orchid construct that had been fighting Geckoman turned its attention to the swashbuckler in turn, working with it's identical sister to harry the suddenly well outnumbered hero. Meanwhile, as the cracked force field around it shimmered out of existence, the third simulacrum took flight to join the one already in the air, the pair of them speeding over to Ferros as he called out from his flying disk. The first of them feinted the young man with a near miss, but the second connected with the force of a tree truck, crashing directly into his metallic mask.

That doesn't beat Cosmic Willow's Impervious, sadly. Jack of all Blades Move Action: Auto DC 29 Feint vs. Geckoman. Standard Action: Unarmed, Power Attack 5 vs. Geckoman. (1d20+9=28) That'll hit regardless, but roll the Feint anyway in case he ends up flat-footed. DC 23 Toughness Save. Jill O'Cure Concentration Check vs. DC 18. (1d20+5=10) The force field around Black Orchid C goes down. Clears Daze. Black Orchid A Standard Action: Aid Attack. (1d20+10=26) Black Orchid B Standard Action: Attack Jack of all Blades. (1d20+12=14) Ffft. Black Orchid C Move Action: Fly to Ferros. Standard Action: Attack Ferros. (1d20+10=18) That's a miss. Black Orchid D Move Action: Fly to Ferros. Standard Action: Attack Ferros. (1d20+10=30) Critical Hit! That's a DC 30 Toughness Save. 35 - Cosmic Willow 28 - Geckoman - 2HP - Mind Controlled 22 - Miss Americana - 4HP 21 - Jack of all Blades - 6HP 18 - Jill O'Cure - Staggered, Dazed 17 - Black Orchid A - Bruised x1 17 - Black Orchid B - Bruised x1, Drained Toughness (Total +7, Impervious 7) 17 - Black Orchid C 17 - Black Orchid D 10 - Ferros - 3HP - Will Be Fatigued I need rolls from Geckoman and Ferros. Don't forget that Ferros needs to spend an HP unless he takes the fatigue, quote. Either way, he's up. This has been lagging behind the other Gorgon threads, which is really my fault. To catch back up, I'm instituting the old '24 hours to respond' rule, which really should have been in place from the beginning.

The downpour didn't have much direct effect on Ghost Girl, passing right through her ethereal form, but it certainly made it difficult to see what was going on and she was glad for the reprieve. She bobbed a little higher into the air in surprise when Stratos' head abruptly came loose and spent the next several moments looking between her new teammates trying to follow just what was going on. "Gosh, robo-duplicate... who'da thought?" she murmured to herself, shaking her hooded head in bemusement. "Oh, well, a curator doesn't sound so bad," Kimber replied to Indira's explanation. "Or... or is it like how the big head thing says 'preserve' and that sounds okay but it's really not? Is that like a space slang thing to do? Like so bad it's good?!"

The look Trevor gave Erin was at her evasive answer was subtle, and anyone else in a position to see his face probably would have simply read it as flat, unimpressed disbelief. The powerhouse knew him well enough to see the brief undercurrent of hurt that passed through his ruby and onyx hued eyes before he refastened his mask. "...right." It was also clear to Erin that the topic was going to come up again later when they had more privacy, but their relationship was built on trust more than anything, despite it being something that did not come particularly easily to either of them.

To her credit, Jill had put in the time to become an accomplished hand to hand fighter and an able combatant in her own right. Unfortunately, that was only enough to provide her the reflexes to almost avoid the speed and ferocity of an unrestrained Geckoman's blow. The young woman managed to catch the blow on her shoulder, but rolled with it poorly, crashing painfully to the broken concrete. Even through the pained haze that immediately accompanied the blow, the medic could tell that her arm had been wrenched, potentially dislocated. Not even having time to yelp, she instead let out a muffled grunt as she clutched her arm and attempted with difficulty to get back to her feet.

Jack and Jill aren't actually next to each other at the moment, but that's fine. Toughness Save vs. DC 23. (1d20+5=14) That was a good roll of Geckoman's part, so I'll let that stand. Arriving at the far side of the vehicle first, placing its glossy black frame between himself and the irksome pot, Midnight leaned against it slightly, knowing well enough how to avoid scratching its admittedly durable finish. As Erin arrived, Trevor straightened to absently pick a piece of wreckage free from her auburn hair that she'd missed before unfastening his featureless mask so that it hung about his neck and folding his arms across his chest. "What was that?" he asked without preamble, knowing she would know exactly to what he was referring. His expression was somber and inquiring, worry subtly creasing his face.

"Hnn. Bribe," Midnight observed sourly, looming for a moment as though considering finding a way into the halls of the Norse pantheon to deliver retribution there on general principle. Despite the classier spin Bombshell placed on the practice, it seemed nothing short of crass to him. Ultimately deciding it probably wasn't worth giving Donar any more attention, he instead turned to Wander and nodded his head subtly toward the over-sized iteration of the Night Cruiser, indicating that he wanted to have a private word with her.

Trevor handily managed to avoid wincing openly at Mark's dissonant performance, moving inconspicuously toward the back of the hall. "That would be our cue," he noted quietly to Erin before sliding entirely out of sight. Through a combination of distraction, losing himself in the crowd and slipping into darkened corners, the dark haired young man was suddenly nowhere to be found. If anyone had been watching very closely in just the right place, they might have seen a figure in all black moving quickly into the chalet's upper levels. But of course, no one was.

"Oh gosh, is Dr. Statos still around?" Kimber asked as she floated back over to the others, still a little miffed over her exchange with Hiroshima Shadow but quickly regaining her sunny disposition. "I think I remember seeing him on TV when I was still alive. Wouldn't he be totally old by now?" The translucent young woman floated a bit over everyone else's heads, looking down at Black Star with a bit of a huff, though she refrained from comment, evidently striving to take the moral high ground. "We should probably try to catch that high-and-mighty green windbag before they can team-up, right?"

The vines Miss America was targeting sizzled for the briefest of moments before simply sublimating in a fine, green mist, the remaining smoking stalks sinking back into the broken pavement, thrashing as they went and causing further damage, though the innocent civilians in the area had thankfully been moved well out of harm's way. "My continued existence is a pretty great argument for not destroying humanity," Jack agreed with the patriotic paragon, tumbling through the air past the crackle of some severed power lines. The acrobatic hero's voice was strained, though not by physical exertion; it was clear his light-hearted rejoinder was nothing but a pretense. By the time his feet touched the ground again, an arcing rapier of electricity had formed in his hand, lashing out in a warding strike across one of the plant matter doppelgangers. The blade exposed a thin line of black, blood-like sap, but the creature responded with surprising speed, catching Jack with a glancing blow that forced him to give up ever more ground. As the crumbling buildings on either side of the melee gave way despite her best efforts, Jill released her force field support beams and instead threw her hands forward, encapsulating another of the simulacrums in a shimmering blue bubble of energy. "Wait, so... what?" the teenage medic asked distractedly as her prisoner lashed about. "Does that mean Willow's like... a sleeper agent who's been 'activated'? Why are -" The rest of her question was cut off as the creature gathered its strength and stuck against the sphere, punching a fist-sized hole in the force field with a sound like breaking glass and drawing back for another battering attack. Nearby, Geckoman was harried by the plant clone he'd attack, staying a step ahead by virtue of superhuman reflexes and the surprising combat experience of his young years. The final creature leapt into the air, thin leaf membranes sprouting under its arms and keeping it aloft as it dove toward Miss Americana, catching the laser firing heroine with a resounding punch across her slender jaw, which nevertheless seemed to side off her impervious physique.

At the precise moment Cannonade's punch connected with Donar's face, Midnight wrenched on the binding cable encircling the thunder god, the timing and technique of the move adding momentum to the reeling deity's tumble. Even an airborne being could be knocked off balance and the combination of unorthodox attacks and defiant shouts had clearly set Donar off of his game. The Æsir fell toward the ground for a few seconds before unsteadily halting his decent, still struggling against the distracting cords entangling his might.

Fort Save vs. DC 22 (1d20+15=33) Toughness Save vs. DC 27 (1d20+15=20) The vines are stunned! As per Sorus' request, the vines will retreat into the ground rather than fall on top of innocent people. Of course, since that wasn't an area power, there's plenty more where that came from, but it's a good start.

The construct regarded the rapid approach of the lime green clad hero dispassionately, tilting its head slightly to one side even as its expression remained flat, almost bored. It made no attempt to get out of the path of the attack, but instead snapped a hand up at the last instant to catch the flying foot. The force of the acrobat's leap still slid his target backward a half step before 'she' let him fall to the broken street, unconcerned even as he easily regained his footing. Along with the other plant creatures, the simulacrum began sliding forward eerily, root-feet tearing apart pavement with a crumbling noise even as they glided toward the rest of the heroes without a word.

For all his stoicism and masked expression, even Midnight's body language was not restrained enough to hide his surprise as Wander went flying through the air. Donar was strong, certainly, but something was clearly wrong. "Mistake," he grated, just a hint of heat slipping into his voice as his arm whipped back and then forward again with eye defying speed. A cord of woven darkness shot from out of his sleeve, a nano-carbon rope the unspooled as it was pulled upward by the momentum of the hook at its end. Whatever attack the thunder god had been expecting, that certainly hadn't been it. The line wrapped around him tightly, entangling his arms and legs in a maddening manner.
