With a huff, Jill rose to her feet with practiced grace more than a little tarnished by her woozy stumble. The glow about her hand subsided as she looked over the row of bottles, her expression turning concerned. "Mara, that's... a lot of painkillers," she observed hesitantly, biting her lip. The fact that the pills were largely untouched did away with the uglier possibilities, but they raised more than a few red flags to the prospective med student. Chronic pain? Could have been hurting her without knowing, she fretted silently.

"Fair enough," Trevor smiled slightly with a deep nod that might as well have been a courtly bow from the reserved youth. Retrieving the voltaic sensor, a hand held device with a pair of prongs on the top, from his open tool box, he donned his coat again and followed Stesha down the path. Making sure to modulate his normally brisk pace, he let the silence hold for a few minutes as he took in the impressive scenery. Eventually, not wanting to seem rude, he searched for topics for smalltalk. "So, erm. How did you and Mr. Lumins meet?" he tried.

"Heh, stupid chair imps," Jill chuckled through a wince, as she probed her head with her fingers, the pale blue aura like sunlight through a forest canopy making sure that any damage was speedily repaired. "M'alright. Perks of the witchy woman routine. Stings like all get out, though." Usually she could use her powers to numb pain as well, but she was reluctant to use that particular application on herself, especially on her head.

Trevor considered, rubbing his jawline. On one hand, it probably made sense to walk the distance of the underground cable to check for any problems there. He'd brought a voltaic sensor along sensitive enough to do the job, and it would be a fair excuse to avoid any more teleporting than necessary. On the other... "Not sure how to ask this delicately," the young man began with a awkward shrug. "Should you be walking that far in, ah, your condition?"

As her light headed laugh was cut off pleasantly, Jill pulled Dragonfly tighter against her with a muffled growl, leaning back in the chair as she did so. Unfortunately, the distracted medic hadn't accounted for the inventor's weight on top of her own, and neither had the chair manufacturers. The front legs lifted into the air, the entire seat balancing precariously at the tipping point just long enough for Jill to break the kiss and let out a startled yipe before they fell backward onto the office floor beside the bed sheet covered desk. The taller girl managed to keep her head up until Mara knocked the wind out of her, at which point she bounced loudly off of the hardwood. "Ow..." she muttered, bringing a softly glowing hand to cradle her own head. "You okay?"

"What can I say?" Jack shrugged broadly with a smirk, "I can never bring myself to charge. Yeah man, we're cool." Standing up from his reclined position against the bricks, he accepted Gabriel's hand and shook it firmly, the fencer's grip not surprisingly strong. Reaching into his greatcoat, he produced a simple white card with a capital I embossed on it. "Here. You get in over your head, give that number a call."

"I hadn't noticed," Midnight deadpanned to Cobalt Templar. <<No offense,>> he thought wryly in Sage's direction, expecting the white haired girl would be more likely to pick up on the dig at the Young Paragons' brightly coloured garb. Trevor gave Erin a small, bemused shrug, placing a gloved hand on the back of his neck just above his jacket's collar. Midnight did his best to remember the advice he'd given Cobalt Templar moments before, but comparing interpersonal relationships between timelines and realities was always awkward. The implication that a more confident version of Wander would have ended up with their unquestionably charming friend was particularly uncomfortable, but the black clad youth pushed it from his mind. "Not native to this place," he answered their doubles' leader. "From the Claremont Academy of a parallel world." Folding his arms, he turned to his version of Edge. "They may be from the same world as Overshadow's ally." Frowning behind his mask, Midnight considered the odd, silent exchange between his counterpart and the extra Wander. The fedora wearing vigilante was obviously more a part of his respective team than he was, enough that the super strong girl looked to him for advice. Except she's not in change of them in the first place, he considered. Problems with the chain of command?

Removing the metal panel and setting it aside, Trevor took a look through a series of breakers with a mild frown. "Need to figure that out first," he advised, noting an entire length of smolder wire. It wasn't anything he hadn't expected, but he'd have to open up more of the generator to completely replace the damaged components. "If I fix it, it'll only overload again unless we stop whatever's drawing power. Where's this enclosure?"
-
Trevor wrinkled his nose slightly at the acrid smell as he carried his toolboxes out the back of the cottage "Hrn, yes," he agreed vaguely, setting down the metal cases just inside the shed door. Unceremoniously dumping his coat and scarf nearby, he rolled up the sleeves of the dark brown shirt he was wearing underneath and popped the first toolbox open, neatly organized drawers sliding up and outward. Selecting the appropriate wench, he moved to the panel closest to the red lights and began loosening nuts to access the inside. "Best guess, just overtaxed the output and the breaker failed. Have to find what's burnt out first."
-
"This is becoming a pattern," Midnight agreed following next to Wander to the other side of Edge. "Don't assume he's you," he warned Cobalt Templar, "Variations can be... dramatic." Whether the doppelganger before him was more akin to Tricia Hunter or The Blank he couldn't say, but with a clear combat stance and a uniform that set him apart from the rest of the coordinated group, the other Midnight was not doing much to convey friendliness. Midnight tilted his head to one side slightly. "They dress like idiots and let the cheerleader take the lead," he drawled quietly. "If they're figments of somebody's imagination, doesn't take three guesses to figure who's." Giving his side's Edge a flat look behind his goggles, he shook his head. He was sure he could take any version of himself who wore a fedora of all things to a fight, but he'd agreed to follow Wanders lead, and hung back for the time being.

"Think I know what you mean," Trevor agreed, a little surprised that he did. He wasn't normally so poetic in his wording, but it was hard to argue about forces of nature with a woman surrounded by spontaneous flora. Refocusing on the schematics, he tapped his sunglasses on his chin thoughtfully for a moment before realizing abruptly that he'd taken them off. The youth froze awkwardly for a moment until it occurred to him that Mr. Lumins' wife of all people was probably not overly bothered by unusual eye colouration. Coughing lightly he took one last pass over the diagrams laid out in front of him. "Ah, think I've got the gist here. Where is the generator itself?"

Jill rolled her eyes over a grin. "Oh, yeah, poor you," she drawled with amusement, slipping her arms under he bottom of Dragonfly's jacket as the inventor shifted closer, sliding her hands up her companion's back and between the two layers of fabric. "Still, I guess that might be partly my fault," she allowed, tilting her chin upward, "and there's really only one way to keep those impulses in check." Straightening her back, she closed the remaining distance into a slow kiss.

Rising from his seat, Midnight stepped toward the hatch as well. "Could be anything," he noted at Sage's warning. "Be ready, but don't start a fight we can avoid." The instruction was largely for the benefit of the group's most junior member, although he was well aware of Wander's policy regarding offense being the best defense. Midnight grimaced behind his featureless black mask as the group appeared in the strange new locale. "Ngh. Let's not do that more than necessary" The young man didn't care for any form of transportation that didn't even have the decency to include a method of steering. "Five? One for each of us," he noted, cracking his knuckled underneath his glove and adopting a ready stance.

Trevor accepted the mug with a grateful nod, taking a seat on the sofa. "Hrn. Does sound complicated." Taking a long sip, the young man scanned the schematics to get an idea of what he was looking, absently taking off his sunglasses to reveal glossy jet black eyes with slightly luminescent ruby irises. "Afraid I've no advice when it comes to parenting. Gramps is doing well," he replied still pouring over the blueprints. "More active than most people half his age. Think it helps. Still." Pausing, he looked up at Stesha. "I worry. Not always, or much, but."

"Hmm," Jill murmured in the back of her throat, tapping a finger lightly to Dragonfly's forehead. "The gutters are as wide as the street in there, aren't they?" The hand drifted slowly to one side, brushing back the blonde hair hanging down as Dragonfly leaned forward. "Well, so long as I have your big, strong brain to protect me, I'm sure I'll be fine," the medic teased, letting her voice fall into a huskier range.

"That... was very thoughtful," Trevor noted, placing one hand on the back of his neck with a slightly perplexed expression. He recovered quickly, deadpanning, "Probably drink too much. Worried it's stunted my growth. Black, please." He was surprised Mr. Lumins had noticed in the first place, let alone mentioned Trevor specifically to his wife. The idea that Stesha would have remembered and gone out of her way to accommodate him veritably boggled his mind. "Think you will make excellent parents," he told the botanist. "Probably hear that a lot."
-
Trevor glanced outside through the windows as Stesha described the process of fixing up an entire world. "Impressive," he restated. "Fought Atlantean vampires with Supercape and Gaian Knight, actually. Both seemed... scholarly. Good builders, I'd think." Setting his toolboxes down, he placed his ushanka atop one and loosened his own coat and scarf. "Schematics would be invaluable," he agreed, "as would coffee." The young man paused for a moment, his posture uncharacteristically uncertain. "Ah... polite to ask after the baby?"
-
"It's okay," Jill assured her with a exaggeratedly sweet expression. "Just know that I will have my revenge, and it shall be delicious." In truth, the joke, off-colour though it had been, put her at ease. Not only did she not have to censor herself around Dragonfly, the other young woman was clearly capable of holding her own when it came to verbal sparring. That, as much as anything, was an extremely attractive quality. "And... thanks." The simple promise of support brought a blush to Jill's cheeks where the bawdy pun had not.

Jill gave the suddenly overcome engineer a startled look as Dragonfly burst out in laughter and fell forward. The taller girl wrapped her arms around her shaking companion to keep her from falling off of their shared chair, her expression turning bemused. When Mara shared the joke, Jill gaped for a beat before pulling a face that incorporated far too wide a grin to come across as properly indignant. "Hey!" she balked, giving the inventor a playful shove in the shoulder, "I was trying to be serious! I swear, you are terrible, you know that?" Despite her words, she couldn't help a laugh of her own that started off as a snort and developed into a rolling sound fueled by Dragonfly's mirth.

Trevor snorted lightly. "If people only used technology they understood," he noted in a dry deadpan, "roads would be empty." As they arrived in the dim cottage, the young man rolled his shoulders uncomfortably for a brief moment, still not terribly fond of instantaneous travel as a rule. Moving past it, he observed the walls, his enhanced vision making it easy to pick out details even before Stesha turned the lantern on. "Plant matter construction... impressive precision. Alternate reality?" he asked, abruptly changing topics. "Anywhere I might have been before?"
-
"Well, I definitely advocate learning by doing in this case," Jill laughed, the corners of her mouth dimpling slightly as her grin widened. "Yeah, that's... that's going to be interesting, but it's like... okay," she restarted, bringing her hands into the small space between them to illustrate her point with vague miming. "Imagine you had this really frustrating puzzle box you'd been working on for ages, and it seemed like everyone else had already got theirs solved and you're starting to wonder if your puzzle is just broken or missing a piece and then you figure out that you've been holding the stupid thing upside down the whole time and tada!" Emphasizing with jazz hands, she let them fall to rest on Mara's hips. "I dunno, does that make any sense?"

Resisting the urge to furrow his brow at Stesha's unorthodox arrival, Trevor nodded shortly, the contained body language slow enough so as not to come across as terse. "Unless you can come back and forth easily," he elaborated, picking up each toolbox by the handle. "Should have everything here. 'Solar and wind generator' was... a little vague." Between the scarf and a pair of oval sunglasses he'd chosen to wear, it was hard to read his expression, but his tone sounded vaguely apologetic for criticizing.

Blaise is going to hold onto the sword voluntarily, and save against the Stun. Fortitude Save vs. DC 16. (1d20+5=20) Blaise O'Glory Move Action: Fast Taunt vs. Network. (1d20+10=26) Standard Action: Three-Flames Katana Attack. (1d20+11=15) Three-Flames Katana Attack HP reroll. (1d20+11=16) So that's a 26 , total. That's a DC 20 Toughness save, with 'mystical flaming sword' as the descriptor, so hopefully it should have some effect on Zappy McZapZap. Let me know how that goes and I'll get the IC post up. Blaise - 18 - 4HP - Bruised Geckogirl - 14 - 4HP - Unharmed, [suit Injured] Network - 12 - NPC - Unharmed, Taunted once, Feinted thrice

"Mmn," Trevor half grunted in affirmation. Practically everything in and around the Hunter Estate was set up with rapid response in mind. "I'll be there." True to his word, half and hour later the young man stood next to the elm tree, proof against the cold in a long black coat with a coal grey scarf peeking over its high collar and a matching ushanka replacing his customary fedora. Next to him on the ground were a pair of long, utilitarian looking tool boxes, stainless steel surfaces gleaming in the morning light.

Wait, so is that a Blast or a Stun? What is she rolling against it with?
