"Hurr hurr, I bet you were," Jill called from the patio, holding onto the railing and leaning back slightly with a thin smirk. Jack snapped his mouth closed and tossed his sibling an annoyed look. "Stop stealing my lines, hermanita," he called back to her. Rolling her eyes again, the teenager blew a lock of unruly hair off of her forehead and countered, "Stop being so slow on the uptake, hemano."

Jack gave Bombshell a deep, courteous bow, flourishing with one hand as a ribbon of gravimetric energy twisted from the power cell he'd borrowed an solidified into a black-purple rapier in his palm, spots of white light sifting about its surface. With acrobatic ease he vaulted himself over the crates with his free hand, landing with both feet directly into the closest solider. "Ha ha!" As the man toppled to the ground with a pained grunt, the swashbuckler added insult to injury by using him as a springboard to launch a broad slash that slid effortlessly thought the weapon of his partner, the front end of the gun clattering to the floor in time to be echoes by a devastating roundhouse to the face which dropped the second opponent. Diving into a roll took him under the line of fire of the remaining duo, popping up in front of them before they had a chance to react. Another swipe disarmed then of their firearms. "Careful, guys, you'll put somebody's eye out with those!" A quick thrust sent a third paramilitary type to the floor, and brought the impossibly sharp tip directly in line with the throat of the final man. "Buddy, you got 'splaining to do," Jack drawled.

As Eli jogged over, Jack dryly shoved the side of the younger man's head. "You've already met her, at Lynn's party. Or are you just having trouble placing her face?" He gave Talya a brief gesture of resigned commiseration with one hand before folding his arms. "And I'm pretty sure there's only thirty five back here." On the barbecue screen, Vince planted his head solidly on his desk, his sound system replicating the resonant thunk. "Why would you tell her that?!" Before the fencer could answer, an annoyed young woman stepped out of the building, busily trying to brush her dyed black hair back into a semblance of order with her hands, looking as though she'd just been in a wind tunnel. "Dammit, Zip, what are you is such rush--" Seeing the woman in the turtleneck, the teen the immortal spy knew as Jill rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Of course. That'd do it." Hopping up to sit on the patio's metal railing, she let her overlapping bangle bracelets clatter down from under the sleeves of her loose dress shirt.

"Tell you what, how about I just accept that grievous gap in my knowledge and use the shame to grow as a person?" Jill drawled, brushing a few insistent bags off he forehead before crossing her arms. Leaning against one of the organic cottage's walls, she turned to Stesha. "Went pretty well, I guess. I hadn't experimented much with different shapes, so that's something to think about."

Okay, so if these guys are minions, Jack can go for a full Power Attack and still Take 10 on his attack for 25. Combined with Takedown Attack, would it be fair to say he moiderizes 'em, and just move to the IC post?

Trevor watched as Erin stood and retrieved her towel, maintaining a stoic demeanor with obvious effort. The withdrawal of Alex's psychic influence was noticeable, but somewhat overshadowed by other sources of distraction "...right. Jet lag. Good idea." Craning he neck after her reflexively, he straightened and let out a thin line of mist from the corner of his mouth, the inky breath mingling with his damp hair. "I'm just... excuse me." Sliding forward, he submerged himself entirely in the tub until he was lying on his back, one hand over his eyes. It was a long moment before he resurfaced and silently moved to dry himself off.

"Well, it's got some measurements that I'm not convinced are entirely professional, if that's what you mean," Vince told Talya blithely while in Eli's bedroom another image of him winked into existence on the screen that had moments before been host to the speedster's game. Easily able to maintain two conversations at once, he told the young man, "It is, and no offense my youthful chum, but I'm really hoping someone other than the Speed-Walking Hormone is around to deal with her." Down by the patio, the rear door to the brownstone apartment building opened as the swashbuckler known as Jack of all Blades sauntered out. The athletic swordsman had long since given up on concealing his face among those heroes who knew where the Interceptors had set up shop, and wore a simple black t-shirt and faded jeans, a wry smirk playing amidst a day's worth of stubble. "Hey, Shelly. This is kinda getting to be a thing, huh?" Above, the iteration of Vince on Eli's screen pulled his hands down his face in a look of beleaguered despair. "That is the opposite of better."
-
With a dry look, Erik crossed his arms then raised a single hand, mentally tugging on the crackling electrical field always present just below Eli's surface, an arc of lightning lifting off of the speedster's shoulder. The older hero made a snapping movement with his wrist, and the electricity popped back with an audible but largely harmless crack. "Dumbass," he drawled goodnaturedly. "You've got nothing to worry about, hermano," Ellie assured the swordsman in an airy tone, her attention apparently on the movie. "I'm not even sure if I like guys." The coltish teen's casual deadpan left her brother and the rest of the household uncertain if she was pulling their collective legs or not, even as an amused smirk pulled at one corner of her mouth.

Moving to stand just behind Erin, Trevor made a slight inclination of his head which, given the context, was presumably a gesture of agreement with her reply. Throughout the introductions the youth's calm demeanor had remained unchanged; a little to alert to be considered relaxed but with a loose conservation of movement that stopped well short of being on guard. "Enjoy your evening," he said in an amiable if muted tone accompanied by a polite, deferential nod.

Trevor raised an eyebrow to match Erin's expression, immediately catching onto her intent and smiling faintly, one hand sliding around her back and under damp auburn hair as he responded in kind. The display of lateral thinking elicited a soft, gravely rumble in the back of his throat as he closed his discoloured eyes and leaned closer, remaining only aware enough of the others in the room to use his free hand to give Mark a brief thumbs up of approval before resting in on the small of Erin's back.

As Mark went flying, Trevor lightly smacked one hand into his face, a small paff of midnight mist releasing at the collision. "Ngh, team is developing an unsettling pattern of male nudity," he observed, casting his gaze upward as Mike saw to their disrobed friend. "That may be the signal to end the game, yes?" He looked over to the other young men, giving the larger and more conscious of the pair a questioning look, wondering if Mark required any immediate medical attention.

"Ah heh. Hoo..." Vince chuckled with simulated nervousness, mopping his brow lightly with a handkerchief which appeared conveniently in his hand. "Well, ah, no, not me. No hands!" the AI explained, waving his avatar's extremities to illustrate the point. "I've got turrets, though, and lots of security cameras. Oodles, really. All over. And sensors, too. Very comprehensive. I'm just saying." There was an awkward pause before he continued. "I'm just... going to see who's home, then."
-
"What? No, I meant-- Never mind, I was just being facetious." At the extended explanation of James' space faring exploits, Jill massaged one of her temples with her free hand. "Right, of course, alternate dimension, that's basically just implied, isn't it." One of the trade-offs for having the more analytical mind was that she wasn't quite as good at accepting the fantastical as her brother. "Oh, wait, so would that be the AI you mentioned to Vince?"
-
"'Irregardless' isn't a word," Ellie corrected the speedster, leaning down from her perch next to him. "You're looking for 'regardless'." Leaning against the back of the couch, Erik cuffed his sister lightly on the shoulder. "Seriously? Shut up and watch the movie, hermanita." The younger sibling responded by slugging him back with considerably more force. "It's not a word!" "Nobody cares!" her brother retorted using his longer reach to tousle her hair messily. Combing it back into place with her fingers, she glowered at him, grumbling something uncomplimentary under her breath.
-
As Talya took a seat, there was a faint whir of machinery to her left as a panel slid away on the unassuming barbecue sitting there to reveal a screen upon which the neon clad avatar of the building's resident artificial intelligence, Vince, appeared. The simulated talk show host adjusted a bolo tie with one hand uncertainly. "Ms. Browning! This is... a little awkward, honestly," he admitted. "On one diode, I struggle to imagine a locale that wouldn't be immediately improved by your sheer vivaciousness! On the other... well, the phrase 'rob you all blind' is featured rather prominently in your file."

Trevor responded to Faretti's emphatically described scenario with an unchanged stoicism. "Unholy? Would use to advantage; stun with symbols of piety, non-denominational or omni-denominational for best coverage." His stance still relaxed, he tilted his head slightly to once side contemplatively. "If humanoid, beheading proven effective. Bladed weapon or overwhelming concussive force. Accelerated healing common; go for kill shot." The athletic teenager removed one hand from his pocket to idly scratch his jawline. "Intelligent example requires paralyzing throat blow, disable mantra-based spellwork. If physically outmatched, control the mental arena, withdraw and regroup as necessary." Finally Trevor shrugged nonchalantly. "As I said, no different. Predict pattern, exploit weakness, press advantage."

"Pfft. Guys, right?" Jill rolled he eyes emphatically, leaning back in her seat as she finished chewing and swallowed a mouthful of waffle and fruit. "Whatever, sounds like you made the right call there, then." Granted, if his ostentatious hat was any indication, this 'Trevor' had his own issues, but Jill got the impression Erin could take care of herself regardless. "I can't get over how casually you can just be all, 'oh, he got a spaceship, beeteedubs'."
-
One eyebrow arched subtly above Trevor's sunglasses as he glanced briefly to Erin before returning his attention to their host. "Can combat it, need be," he responded carefully, the hands in his jacket pockets running over the silver knuckle dusters he'd made a point of secreting there, inscribed with holy scriptures from a dozen cultures. Even as he kept his stance relaxed in the face of Faretti's animalistic crouch, his voice reflexively lowered a semitone, a rough quality creeping in about the edges. "No different than anything; comes down to the wielder."

Jill's eyebrows lifted upward as she visibly filed that piece of social trivia away for future reference. She honestly hadn't expected Erin to be seeing anyone from the taciturn disposition the other girl displayed. Trying not to feel vaguely depressed by her own lack of romantic life in comparison, she picked her fork back up and resumed eating. "So, uh, not to pry or anything, but I mean... did he stop showing up around the time you started seeing this other guy?"
-
Moving the sphere of to one side, Jill let is disappear along with her headphone construct, the caught rock dropping back down to the ground with a dull thud. "Yeah, good call," she agreed following Supercape back in the direction of the cottage. Pausing for a silent moment, the teen sighed softly then added, "So, y'know, thanks for coming out to give me some pointers and all. Didn't have to or anything, so."
-
"Wait, which one is James?" Jill asked, running through her mental checklist of faces and names from Claremont. She still hadn't met the bulk of even her own grade, but she had at least made a token effort to keep up with the general who's who. Her brother had mentioned a couple of students he'd run into elsewhere in the city, but he hadn't known any of their real names, naturally. Actually, he hadn't actually known many of their code names; his propensity for jocular nicknames worked against her in that regard. "Is he the one with the old hat?"
-
Erik ran a hand through his dusty brown hair, bemused. Acheville was acting a lot more like Vince than his regular self, and the pun caught the swordsman's attention enough to highlight to diminished accent. Lynn, on the other hand, was being touchy enough to be compared to him, which Erik had to admit was not a great sign either. "I dunno, recessive genes?" he responded, letting his voice circumvent his brain to hide his concern. "That's not even kind of how that would work," Ellie correct him flatly, shifting her perch on the back of the couch to watch the screen. The teen tucked a few loose strands of her artificially dark hair pointedly behind her ear. "Maybe she dyes it."
-
"Please don't call me that," Trevor requested calmly. "Ever. Ever ever." He was mildly relieved at Mark's choice; at this point, a dare would have had to have been worded with extreme care to avoid potentially catastrophic reality warping. It occurred to him, however, that given his friend's fragile emotional state of late, his question would have to be chosen with similar care. "Ah, got one. How would you design a line of Young Freedom action figures? Guessing you've considered it."

[Interceptors] Zombie Powder is a Helluva Drug [IC]
Gizmo replied to Dr Archeville's topic in West End
"Pfft, yeah, it's not like they can shoot us extra dead," Jack agreed, his tone bone dry with gallows humour. Cracking his knuckles absently, he continued, "Don't think this guy is our zombie maker. Whole other kinda juju he's using than the Powder. Feeling more and more like we're coming in late to this party." There seemed to be a lot going on that they weren't aware of, and the deeper they dug the bigger the conflict seemed to become. After seeing the civilians of his neighbourhood caught in the crossfire, however, the swashbuckler was inclined to take everybody involved down hard and sort it out after the fact. -
A few lines into Supercape's enthusiastic explanation, Jill created a pair of glowing headphones over her ears, roughly the shape of those worn by safety personnel on an airport runway. Their permeable nature didn't actually block out much sound and the gesture was more an exercise in experimenting with her powers, but it did help her tune out the lengthy explanation. As the rock hurtled toward her, the teen refocused, closing the dish shaped force field into a smaller full sphere around the stone, suspending it midair.
