Jack touched down on the street several seconds before Bombshell, and greeted her with crossed arms. "Dios, woman, give a guy some warning before you pull that, would ya?" A sharp exhalation blew a few stands of dark hair from in front of his mask. "I was thinking a nice fettuccine with pesto, maybe a good wine, not street pizza." After a brief moment, he admitted with a grin despite himself, "That was actually pretty cool, though. How'd you do that vertical slide thing?"

"Hey, lookit that, I'm famous," Jack drawled, a but of thickness slipping into is speech as the adrenaline began to ebb from his system. "But hey, I'm not one of Doc's-- that is, it's not... We have an arrangement, is what it is." He pointed between Scarab and Valkyrie with an unfocused stern look, as though warning against argument. The trouble he was having focusing on either of the floating women attested to the amount of blood he'd already lost. The teenager helping keep the wounded swashbuckler on his feet rolled her eyes. "Idiota..." She whispered insistently to Jack through clenched teeth. "Do you really want to be here when the cameramen show up for the post-brawl interviews?" The fencer immediately regained a measure of lucidity. "Right, yeah. Listen, ah, Miss The Scarab, Blonde... Hammer... Lady, s'alright if I go have a sit-down while you handle the media? I kinda got a little bit shot there, and bullets are sorta my secret weakness and all, so... ouch."

"Hey, y'know what they say," Jack quipped to Elena, his hands held upward in a wry shrug, "once you go Jack..." Finally retrieving a condensation laden bottle from the cooler, the fencer leaned over shoulders to skim the letter the birthday girl had arrived with. The fencer let out a low whistle of appreciation. "That's some heavy stuff, Lynn." He glanced up inquisitively at Bill when he read the bit about Lynn's old squeeze, but didn't overtly comment. Popping the lid from his beer with his tarnished belt buckle, he smoothly stepped over to stand next to the cowboy. "She going to be okay?" he inquired quietly, pitching his voice to carry no further than the pair of them.

Leaping over the railing, Jack sailed downward with his royal blue greatcoat trailing behind him, landing silently in a three point crouch at the bottom. Extending his enhanced senses slowly, the seemingly empty hallway before him filled with dim red beams to his sight. The guard at the far end hadn't seen him yet, but it was only a matter of time before he glanced over. Pfft, like I'm gonna let that happen. The swordsman let his coat slip to the floor as he stood revealing the skintight black bodysuit he wore beneath it as he tucked away the loose ends of the crimson sash around his waist and the trailing tails of his bandanna mask. A grin spread across his face as he took a pair of soft steps to build up momentum before vaulting into an aerial somersault. With astonishing grace, he cartwheeled and bounded through the beams, his senses allowing him to tell where they were regardless of his position. A final slide brought him under the final beam, narrowly passing over the bangs of his wig, before he snapped upward, pulling a sliver of energy from the lasers themselves as he rose to form a pulsing ruby blade in his hand mid-swing. The glowing rapier took shape just in time to deal a brutal blow to the unprepared guard. "I'd feel bad," Jack softly noted to the unfortunate man, "but you do work for neo-Nazis."

Yes, sorry, he's got +10 Notice and Skill Mastery. Jack will leave his greatcoat at the bottom of the stairs 'cause, let's face it, when your Toughness is already only +8, dropping it a couple points probably won't make a huge difference. That drops the the DC to 25, which he can make using Skill Mastery Acrobatics. He'll then deal with the unfortunate guard. Energy Sword Power Attack 5. (1d20+13=28) That should be DC 21 on the Drain Toughness followed by DC 28 on the actual Toughness Save.
-
Jack's just making an Auto-20 Notice while using his Detect Energy to look for any reasonably obvious traps.

Jack leaned forward to look skeptically down the stairwell. "Man, how do you build this kind of thing in the middle of the city without anybody noticing?" The swashbuckler glanced back over his shoulder at Ace. "Well, I guess somebody did, but still. Creepy stuff." Looking back down the vertical tunnel of concrete, he narrowed his eyes in concentration. "Gimme a sec, I might be able to feel out any trip-lasers or whatever."

"No, no, that's cool," Jill replied quickly, pointedly placing her ponytail behind her back once again. "I should get going anyway. Pulling a volunteer shift at the hospital tonight, so I should probably get in a nap or whatever." The coltish teen hesitated for a moment, then added. "So, uh, thanks for, like, having me over and all. Hope it helped. With mi hermano, I mean." The tanned girl's cheeks darkened a shade self-consciously.

"Right." Kicking off from his treetop perch without preamble, Trevor vaulted himself through the foliage until he landed softly on another organic outcropping. Moving slowly but confidently, he approached one of the larger Mai'yoa with his hands held at his side palms out in what he hoped was a universal sign on peaceful intention. Tapping his own chest, without thinking he stated, "Midnight." It occurred to him that that really was how he thought of himself these days, and wasn't particularly concerned by the realization. On the contrary, the dark haired teen felt a subtle surge of satisfaction.

Trevor considered for a moment, placing an idle curiosity as to whether any brewable beans might be growing among the planet's lush vegetation to the back of his mind as he concentrated on the matter at hand. "They don't seem terribly surprised by our presence," he remarked, "or at least they don't view us as any threat." The black clad youth shrugged mildly. "Shall we introduce ourselves?"

Trevor mouth curved downward subtly as Mark's interaction with the robotic guardians took an ominous turn. "Visits to the Lucas home are beginning to develop into a pattern," he deadpanned quietly to Erin as he preemptively reaffixed his mask, the massive room cast in red hues through the lenses of his goggles. While his own technological predilections ran toward the mechanical engineering side of the spectrum, he gathered that Warren possessed a knack for electronics. "Rift, any insights?" the flat, grating voice of Midnight inquired.
-
Shall we roll initiative in advance, then?

As much as Trevor was still a city boy at heart, the natural beauty of the verdant planet resonated with him, as did the calm, deliberate manner of its inhabitants. Moving about the treetop village with Erin, he tipped his fedora back from his forehead thoughtfully. The laconic young man generally wasn't the first choice for striking up a conversation, but he reflected that his soft spoken nature might actually be an asset among the relaxed Mai'yoa. He looked over at the auburn haired girl. "So, how do you think this is supposed to work?"

"Hrrn..." Trevor grunted uncertainly as he rechecked the seals between his gloves and jacket sleeves. "Wishing I'd had more time to test the suit's emergency life support." Fastening his featureless mask over his his face, the young man took a last deep breath of Earth's air before stepping through Dark Star's portal. Even through the filter in his mask, the air on the alien world smelled fresh and vibrant. Hesitantly, Trevor lifted his fedora slightly and let the black fabric with its built in goggles fall to hang down around his neck as he looked about in fascination. "Astounding..." he breathed softly, turning back around to look for Erin.

Trevor triple checked his utility belt before fastening the buckles of his jacket, exhaling deeply as he prepared. It was still a little hard to believe that such a class was available; superhumans and city wide battles were one thing, but the lanky youth was still trying to wrap him mind around the prospect of visiting an alien world and interacting with the lifeforms there. He hadn't hesitated to sign up for the optional program, but now that they were about to leave, Trevor had to admit that he was feeling a little nervous. It wasn't a feeling to which he was accustomed, and he didn't think he cared for it at all.

Ha, I actually mentioned in chat that I wanted to do something to that effect and couldn't think how. Hopefully it won't even actually come up, but he can always rearrange the points if need be.

"Hey!" Jack yelped involuntarily as he bounded forward, diving over the side of the balcony after Bombshell. His grapple was already in his hand as his feet pushed off into the air, and he fired the line back the way he'd come without looking, where it latched onto the outcropping, controlling his descent. "Why do women keep doing that around me?" he groused.
-
Jack whirled around to face the hospital, his blade snapping back down to normal size even as the electricity from his city block-sized strike was still roiling through the creatures in the distance. "No! Grim!" he shouted at the top of his lungs, sudden frustration playing across his face. "Air taxi, stat!" They'd failed to keep the hospital safe, he knew; all he could hope for was that it wasn't too late to save the civilians inside, including his sister.
-
Trevor shook his head. "No, I mean I'm impressed," he clarified falling in just behind Erin as she walked and nudging her shoulder lightly with his own. "I'm pretty hopeless outside of the city." He indicated the Sanctum as a whole and the robotic duplicate in particular with slight inclinations of his chin. "Your gut says something's off, we keep an eye out. I trust you instincts."
-
Sliding smoothly away for the zombie, Midnight tucked away his escrima sticks in favour of a pair of gleaming, metal knuckles withdrawn from his belt. The inherited silver have been inlaid the holy symbols of more than a dozen cultures, blessed in numerous rituals as each demanded. Slipping them on, the dark vigilante took up a defensive pose. "You attacked," he reminded Dead Head flatly pointing a finger at the undead creature. "Answers first."
-
Trevor unfastened his mask once they were inside, letting in hand around his neck as he looked around the hall. "Little over seventeen," he answered Erin absently, mouth left slightly open as he ran his hand across one of the Sanctum's walls. "People still care," he murmured even more softly than usual before turning back to the young woman. "Lots of advanced tech, obscure records, even the animals here; plenty of reason to keep it hidden. Part of the 'maintenance'?" The dark haired teen gave Erin a quizzical look. "How did you know about the seasonal storms?"
-
Alright, Trevor's going to arrange his Gadgets into this: Corrosion 2 (blessed silver knuckles, Power Feats: Improved Critical 2, Incurable, Mighty) [10PP] ...just in case!
