  1. Jack of all Blade Hero Point: Cancel Fatigue. Free Action: Instant Up with Skill Mastery Acrobatics Standard Action: DC33 Taunt against Orion. Move Action: DC33 Feint against Orion with Fast Talk. Hero Point: Stunt a very long sword: Damage 11 (Power Feats: Accurate 3, Mighty 2, Extras: Range [Ranged]) [27PP] Extra Effort: Surge for Standard Action. Standard Action: Extending Sword Attack. (1d20+13=29) That's a DC 28 Toughness save for Orion, at -2 if he's successfully Taunted. This is gonna be good. Let me know how that goes, Shaen, and I'll get the IC post up.
  2. Jill rolled her eyes drolly at Lynn's qualifier. "Well, somebody just lost her 'cool older sister' credentials," she quipped dryly as Eli raced into the foyer, the wind from the speedsters entrance sending her ponytail bouncing about her head. Between his transparent attempt to impress the new arrivals and Moira immediately draping herself over him, the cynical teen wasn't sure who to roll her eyes at first.
  3. Pulling back slightly, Jack blinked at the blonde woman, his brain trying to process what was happening and coming up with nothing but static. Things were actually going his way for a change and the fencer was suddenly struck by how long it had been since he'd done anything besides fight, train or sleep. "Shelly," he finally managed, mouth slipping into a lopsided grin, "I think you just scored the kockout." There was a pause as their masked eyes met before he continued more softly, "Guess I should let go of your wrist, then." The swashbuckler made no immediate move to do so.
  4. One of Midnight's softly glowing red lenses narrowed as Archeville expounded on his deductive capabilities while opposite eyebrow rose in a look which conveyed vague bemusement even through the featureless black mask. The black clad figure shook his head slightly before turning his attention elsewhere. The meaning was clear: Midnight knew the doctor was bluffing and simply didn't care enough either way to bring it to the others' attention.
  5. Leaving his bike to clatter to the lawn, Midnight sprinted toward the unconscious figure. The young man did his best to remain analytical, processing what he was seeing in a detached manner. Mental assault... The civilians strewn about the street seemed to substantiate that information; clearly they'd been stricken suddenly and without warning. He should have been remembering his training to resist such an intrusion, but the only thing Trevor could think about was reaching the side of the man who had raised him and given his life purpose.
  6. To be clear, Trevor just dealt L33T a DC30 Intimidate check to interrogate him; probably 32, since he's being pretty darn imposing.
  7. Trevor screamed inwardly as Erin and the others continued their attempts to subdue Mike. He wanted to be helping them, but knew he was little match for the paragon and was unwilling to let the saboteur escape in the chaos. The dark haired young man composed his thoughts with a simple sureness that his date was entirely capable of protecting herself. The cold, calculating side of his personality moved to the fore, recognizing his target as Shinnosuke Koyama, the gadgeteer known as L33T. One of Daisy Gibbons' minions, he recalled. Gibbon's feud with Zoe was well known around the school, and the night's events fell into clear order. Reaching the projector, he bent over to roughly drag L33T from the floor while the hacker was disoriented from Alex's mental intrusion. Holding him by the front of his suit jacket, Trevor took advantage of his imposing height to lift him a few inches into the air, drawing him to eye level, where the popular student was met by a narrowed gaze that brought him back to terrifying focus. In that instant, the Mustang burst into existence, crashing into Mike in an explosion of sound and shrapnel just behind Trevor. The wreckage burst into flames, the flickering back light casting the fedora wearing teen in imposing silhouette. "You've miscalculated, Shinnosuke," he noted is a voice so calm and quiet that L33T couldn't help but strain to hear it in morbid fascination. Each syllable was a needle of pure, precise chill, and the other student found himself unable to look away from Trevor's piercing stare. "Badly. Tell me where Daisy is."
  8. "S'alright, Twinkle Twinkle," Jack of all Blades greeted glibly, lacing his fingers behind his head. "Sprouts, Phantom, lovely as always. Broodmeister, I continue to be amazed that you have more fans than me. They're even doing look-alike contests now," he drawled with a nod toward the mysterious imposter. "Looks like you're busted, Scrappy," he added airily, watching the scene with a facade of detached amusement. "I'd listen to good cop, 'cause you sure don't want to deal with bad cop over there, amirite?"
  9. Grapple Check. (1d20+17=26) Aheh...
  10. "Heh, let's just say I play shockingly poorly to the teen girl demographics," Jack quipped in reply. Moving lightly around the curvy blonde, he maneuvered the fight back toward the brick stairwell he'd been leaning against earlier. A quick feint to put his rooftop companion off balance, and he swept forward, blocking a pair of jabs with open hands and pinning Bombshell's wrists against the wall. "I do much better with grown women," he explained with a roguish wink.
  11. Alright, well, make it another DC33 Feint, then an Unarmed Attack to Initiate Grapple. (1d20+12=18) Ugh. Well, if that works, Grapple Check. (1d20+17=19) Haha, so terrible.
  12. Jill lifted the knapsack an inch off her shoulder with her thumb. "I actually brought a swimsuit in... my..." The coltish teenager blinked several times as the redhead appeared at the brownstone's doorway. "Buh? Uh... hi?" she responded to Lynn's introduction uncertainly, colouring noticeably. When Moira walked past into the apartment building, Jill took the opportunity to give her hostess an incredulous, questioning look.
  13. By the time Midnight replied over the commlink, "On my way; hold on," he was already on the Night Cycle and tearing out of the alleyway. Rearing up on one wheel to make the hairpin turn onto the street, he let the bike fall back down as he accelerated to its maximum speed, weaving like a matte black shadow thought the night's traffic as he raced homeward. His teeth gritted as he willed more speed from the finely tuned engines.
  14. When the video of James and Zoe appeared on the screen, Trevor took a reflexive half-step backward in surprise, bursts of midnight mist pouring from his tear duct involuntarily to obscure his wincing vision as a garbled exclamation caught in his throat. "Gnnn..." Mike's outburst blew the small stygnian cloud apart and bowled the unbalanced youth off his feet. By the time he'd gracefully recovered, Erin had already sprinted forward to restrain her enraged friend. Trusting her to take care of that, Trevor scanned the crowd with narrowed eyes amidst the sudden chaos. Rather than concerning himself with the social implications, the first thought that occurred to him was that someone had to have intentionally set all of it into motion, tapering with the projector. Drama, the dark haired young man thought with an inward sigh just as he spotted a student who'd been sent sprawling from beside the device by the shockwave. Wordlessly, Trevor sprinted in that direction, intent on dealing with the situation at its source.
  15. Groovy! In retrospect, that was probably more of a Notice check, I guess, but whatever works. Trevor will use his remaining action to move over to the 'techie kid'.
  16. Trevor's going to use Acrobatics Skill Mastery 20 to 'Instant Up' out of his prone position as a free action, then scan the crowd with Sense Motive Skill Mastery 25 to see if he can spot a likely culprit responsible for the, uh, free show on the projector. Let me know if he notices anything and I'll get that IC post up.
  17. Reflex Save vs. DC 23. (1d20+5=10) Acrobatics vs DC 31. (1d20+10=12) Initiative. (1d20+3=12) ...well, nuts.
  18. Will Save vs. DC 21 (1d20+6=22) Jack will gladly flirt with the supervillainess as soon as he's a little less full of bullets. EDIT: Oh, whoops, didn't realize the -4 had been factored in already. I guess that should have been 26, then. Same diff.
  19. Well, he notices the gun, that's for sure! Toughness Check vs. DC 25. (1d20+3=8) Toughness Check reroll vs. DC 25. (1d20.minroll(11) +3=19) Okay, he had 7, spent one to double his dodge, one to surge and one to reroll there. Might as well blow one more to clear the stun; that leaves him at 3HP, with 2 bruises and 1 injury, yeah?
  20. Had anyone present been able to see through the stygian cloud of midnight mist which blanketed the interior of the chop shop, they might have witnessed Midnight dispatching a blindly charging thief by opening the driver side door of a partially dismantled pickup truck directly into his opponent's lowered head in a moment of poetic justice. Instead, a loud crash and a pained groan were the only signals that the last of the criminals had been subdued. As the inky black gas slowly dissipated into the night air, the lean vigilante looked about the garage through the narrowed red lenses in his featureless mask. As an accomplished driver and mechanic, Trevor Hunter had made breaking up the expanding car theft operation which had been plaguing the city's streets a priority. Regarding the unconscious thugs zip tied to the scavenged car frames, the youth felt a degree of muted satisfaction before slipping into the shadows outside and stealthily making his way to the alley in which he'd concealed the Night Cycle.
  21. Notice Check. (1d20+10=22) I'm guessing those two points aren't going to make the difference, huh?
  22. Jack's Skill Mastery gives him an auto-20 on Notice.
  23. "Why are you...? Never mind," Jack sighed, ignoring Lynn's adopted accent. Standing near the space between two exhibits, the tanned young man kept a smile plastered to his face as spoke quietly over the commlink. He wore khakis and a polo shirt to match the shapeshifter's own uniform, but he'd further opted for a pair of round glasses, which combined with a slicked back style to his short, dusty brown hair to give him a very different profile. "I'm just lucky these paintings have placards I can read when people ask questions. Why they don't just read them themselves, I do not know," the fencer grumbled. Long stakeouts didn't play well to his impatient disposition.
  24. Trevor let Erin lead him toward the photographer without argument, a bit of bemusement slipping into his smile. The dark haired youth found the contrast between taciturn pragmatism behind Erin's reasoning and the young woman's haste to secure the photographic keepsake oddly endearing. He supposed he wasn't at his most logical when she was around, either. Normally having his objectiveness clouded would have nagged at him, but in this case he didn't mind.
  25. Sweeping to one side, Jack stepped Bombshell's reach before ducking forward again. "Ha, no, we're a pretty clean cut bunch, comparatively." At the last moment, he altered his momentum to roll to the right, coming up behind the blonde woman and tapping her lightly on the shoulder. "Some of us just have a way of rubbing people the wrong way. By which I mean inspiring an instantaneous and troubling rage." He shrugged as he continued to provide an elusive target. "I assume it's a side effect of seething jealousy."
